It depends on the mother. My mom spent a lot of time with my sister and her husband after they had their first child. She was still a full time nurse but she wanted to do her 3 months with the new baby so she would pack her clothes and come straight from work to my sisters place and spend 3 to 4 nights a week. My parents home was less than 20 minutes away though. My mother never sided with my sister on any wahala and that is a fact. My mom felt my sister could take it since she raised us tough after all her husband is not the devil. My sister felt sometimes that my mom was being unfair. The only time my mom would say anything to him was after my sister was not there and it was usually something about his health because he is supposed to take insulin everyday and he was not taking it seriously and that would upset my sister and start a fight. In those sort of cases my Momsie will speak her mind. A wise mother in law will never publicly side with her child unless it is a matter of life and death.

thank you Outstrip. u got the main root. but should i leave her or not?
You're welcome. She is struggling with leaving him and their parents are involved. If it was my brother I would say he should not. When I know that her mother and the mother of this other guy can cause problems for you guys. I don't really understand the emere thing but maybe these parents did something that they believe has to tie this two together forever. If the parents feel so strongly about that they will never give you people peace. Why don't you date other people for now and see how it goes.

Did you miss the part where he said his lawyer advised him that he can use his natural right as a father (whatever that means) and take the child

He met a girl he likes. She is a relationship with another. She had some spiritual issues when she was younger (emere as he called it) and they used the boy she is a relationship with to free her spirit or something. His question is if he should leave this girl alone or if he should give her time to call it off with the other guy since she has this history with the other guy. I think that's what he is asking

How can they be living together in the US and his family goes to the village and dissolves the marriage. You cannot tell me that he was not aware of that. The guy is violent. She should have spent more time getting to know him before he imported her. I say only a miracle can save this one. I am sure this guy is probably in his late 30's or early 40's yet he is letting his family divorce his wife for him while he is still living with her here in the states

Don't give up your child. You can share custody. You can have him on weekends. I am wondering though, is it the law in Nigeria that you can just go and take a child from a lawful parent because you are a man.
Family › Re: Pls How Do I Tell My Wife That I Want To Borrow My Ex Some Amount Of Money? by Outstrip(f): 4:29am On May 10, 2009
The way I see it is you have already opened the door to something more than your marriage might be able to handle. You need to let your girlfriend I mean ex girlfriend know that you cannot give out that much money without your wife involved.

If he is already in retirement then he should be mostly in an income generating vehicle not in anything aggressive. He should not be taking risks at this point.
Insurance firms in Naija are scammers!, i can personally speak on AIICO. My dad had life Assurance for #3000pounds backs in the days i was bearly few months old when he took it for which i was the beneficiary, fast forward to 1999 i went to head office in V/I to claim it wit all necessary docs including death cert. long story short, when i got there i was well received few mins later the officer was runing from one office to the other meeting wit his senior officers and 1 hour later, he came to me and told me my dad defaulted in his premium payment i was like when and where is the proof. He said it was a sensity information that they were unable to relate to me, before then they took the hard copy from me in pretence of processing it for payment, he even went as far as telling me i was one of the lucky few and took out the front page which had the agreement and about six legal seals before relating the bad news of default to me. While my dad specifically told me that he had been paying in premium constantly through his bank which meant it was an automatic monthly payment from his account since he was a senior banker official back then. I was so dumb founded that i was gasping for air. The dead man wasnt there to defend his premium payment and AIICO couldnt show proof that he defaulted after paying premium for 25yrs
Long story short be your own insurance agency, plan your life, u dont need sham firm pretending to insure you when its time to lay claim, they will be looking for a way to discret their own agreement. It was later it dawn on me that if i had known i would have contacted a lawyer before going, but poor me i thought it was a walk in sign and walk out with my #3,000 pounds. I wasnt even gonna accept naira cos the terms was state in pound sterling. But those guys outsmarted me took the away my hard copy so i wont be wised up by a lawyer on a later date. I didnt inform anyone back then cos i was guarding it as a big secret. You can imagine my fustration i was mad, i felt used and dumped, violated and cheated. Especially recounting what my dad must have been thinking when he walked into the office to sign the agreement. He thought of life and thought the best he could do for me was set the ball rolling, but he never knew his son would be cheated after 25yrs of hard premium payment.
I feel so sad for you. I cannot let such a thing go. Not because of the money but that my dad was thinking about me when he did it. That was his legacy that he left you. Can you prove that the money was taken out every month electronically? That should be good enough to prove that there was no default. I really feel for you even for your father that is no longer here

Beyonce and JayZ

David Bechkham is cute and so is his wife but she always looks pissed
Will Smith and Jada are both cute but they irritate me. I just feel like they have to be in ogboni or something to make so much money from acting and yet they cannot act to save their lives

Actually that is more the definition of love in Nigeria only that the woman should be on her back legs wide open and the man should have cash in one hand and slave manacles in the other

Where is that thread about the woman that caught AIDS from her husband. Your new husband does not respect you. Stop having sex with him and you guys should go for counseling if you plan on staying in the marriage. Who carries on an affair a few days to his wedding? He is either mad or he does not give a hoot? How do you even know that she is the only other person he is sleeping with. I cannot believe that you found out before the wedding and did not say anything to him. You went on with the the wedding and now you think he will changehuh?? I don't understand how you got yourself in this mess.

mohawkchic the voodoo thing (though I did not watch this particular program) is very real. Every single one of those girls are made to swear to some juju that they will die or that bad things will happen to their family members and they believe it. So you can tell them that you will give them police protection but their mind is really on the blood oath they took.
I have also heard that some of these girls are minors that their parents sell them without the minors even being aware until they get to Italy or wherever.

MRbrownJAY:
why would someone do such a stupid thing. have you considered the fact that maybe, that new woman doesnt know about his past and that this married guy LIED through his teeth (like most married men do) to get some coochie and finance from the new lady.
the problem is NOT the new women in her husbands life, the problem IS the husband who doesnt give a damn about his wife and child and prefers to fool around with local women while is"so called" wife is in the states.
i am sure we dont have the full story here, even if that guy was fooling around with another woman, he would have still kept the poster in check to get his US visa, IF THAT STORY IS TRUE.
ps some women will give anything for a "seemingly" good man, and also fight heaven and hell to keep him.
If the American wife is helping with papers then it is possible that the Nigerian wife is in on it too. I am totally against trying to contact the Nigerian wife because it will not make a difference. The guy is a loser and I just pray that these wives that support their husbands ruining another woman's life to make her own better will one day realize that there is always a day of reckoning

Some people is not everybody. Why would you or even the mother want to come to a home were the husband will be resentful of her mother staying there. Does she not have hobbies. She can put a little girl through school. The little girl can live with her and it will be like having a grandchild in the house. That should keep her busy. If you know you can do it then go ahead but if you think that it will put you in a situation that it might compromise your relationship with your wife I cannot say it is okay

I am assuming that this was the one that the mother had two different DNA's. Maybe it is not. I have friends that are twins and one is very dark skinned and the other very light skinned. My mother is a caramel color but her twin bother is very dark so I never realized that it was a big deal with 2 black babies with different skin tone

One light skinned twin and one dark skinned twin (both blacks) are totally different from your examples which are one white and one black.

Food › Re: Fish Peppersoup by Outstrip(f): 1:13am On May 08, 2009
chaircover:
In my post I said it was the quick and easy way. The Cameroonian pepper has most of the ingredients you mention already in it. The only thing I forgot to mention was the diced onion.

There are many different ways to cook a dish. People who cook fried rice & jollof rice will tell you this. Different doesn't mean wrong.  . . . . . Oh and by the way my sister in-law taught me this method and she has been happily married for 30 years so is definitely cooking something right.  wink

At the end of the day, it is unlikely that the person eating the pepper soup will be able to tell the fish was marinated with all the ingredients you mention or just salt. Peppersoup has quite a strong flavour anyway and the fish will soak up all the juices & flavour from the time it spends simmering in the pot.

Dare I ask what is the Nigerian black pepper please?
You are right. There are many ways to cook it. In fact I have never heard of stock fish in pepper soup. Nigerian black pepper might be alligator pepper.
