I can't even argue. What does you and your daughter sitting in the front sit have to do with anything here. If you sit in the back or the front what difference does it make. Are you not going to get to your destination. Please simply say that it is what you believe is your culture and leave it at that. So you basically telling him that for the sake of eye service he should go to his freinds wedding. It is what would be expected. That is BS. I think I have pretty much said what I believe

@ amebo I have pretty much responded to what you just posted re read my post. As for me my husband and children comes first and I expect nothing less from my husband. There of course is a reason out there that a husband might have to miss his wife's delivery. This situation is not one of them.
Celebrities › Re: The Man Whose Photo Was Published Isn't My Husband. . . . . Stella Damascus by Outstrip(f): 6:59am On May 29, 2009
Wow. I am glad she was able to move on. The fact that she mentioned that her she married in a court so nobody could take her children makes you wonder if they indeed tried to take her children. Nigerian culture baffles me. I don't know how many Nigerian movies I have watched were a mother in law or late husbands uncle comes in and takes the children. I also like how she used the interview to put the word out there to Nigerian women. Do not be a fool. Make sure all your husband has is also in your name. I don't understand how a man can die and then his family members will shamelessly come and fight for something that does not belong to them. Even in 2009.

Djimon is not Nigerian. He is from The Republic of Benin. There are some really dark yorubas and people from Badagry are sometimes very dark too. Not sure if Badagrians are considered yoruba though

I don't know why you think it has anything to do with being single or married. I am married and my husband will not do it. It's not that the wife said it was okay. He has said that his wife is as much on his neck to stay as much as the best man. She wants her husband there and you have advised a husband that even though his wife wants him there he should ignore her and go ahead with a friend that does not even have the grace to say "I understand that your wife is pregnant so if you do not show up I will not take it personally". If his wife says it was okay it would be one thing but you are telling a man who feels guilty about leaving his wife in the first place to go ahead and ignore his feeling of guilt and his wife's request to go to a friends wedding. The most outrageous one is even accusing the wife of emotional blackmail.
Which friends are you asking her to keep close. I am 100% sure that the best man is aware that his friends wife wants him by her side. If he knows this don't you think that the gentlemanly thing to do is to back off. I was very emotional when I was pregnant and I even remember having this terrifying fear of being alone for more than two weeks after my boys were born. I would cry for no reason, extra anxious and some times felt like I was honestly going to have a panic attack. It was just my knowledge that it was probably just postpartum blues that helped me pull through it. He is going to do what he is going to do. I do not think the woman should feel bad about saying need my husband. I do not want to be alone right now. The best man on the other hand is being immature. I wonder if he would leave his new wife if she was in the same situation.

Yeah igbo men are cute but yoruba men (the really black ones that are so black they are purple) are sexy as hell to me. Especially if they are tall. Like the guy from lost. I forgot his name. He is one cute yoruba guy and then Djimon Honsou not yoruba but he has the look

The weirdest part s that he even says that she falls sick because of the pregnancy and in the same breath says she abandoned all the housework. I swear I don't think bad health care is the only reason why Nigeria has one of the highest mortality rates for pregnant women. Your wife was not born with a mop and a pot in her hands. If she s unable to help right now then do it. You do not even need a maid especially when it is just you and your wife. How much mess can there be that you cannot handle it for a while. I don't want to be do mean because know that first pregnancies can be hard on husbands too but you need to snap out of it and be a rock for your wife

@JJYOU
Though i know it's wrong to have a situation as this (father & son) in the same FG parastatal as Chairman & MD especially when its not in tandem with theFederal Character Commision policies.

But comparing OBJ and his daughter thing as a PDP affair, i beg to differ, isn't only a nigerian affair. I'd say its a thing common to the rich and powerful (some, not all) in every society. Asides from the fact that the nature of their public offices is/was by general election. Abi how would you describe the Bush family, who produced Father & Son as US Presidents, and another son as Florida governor when George W. Bush himself was Texas governor b4 becoming president. Abi how would you also describe Bill Clinton who was president and his wife was 1st Lady, and then became a Senator when her husband left office, and even contested to become US President, and still managed to get appointed as US Seceretary of State. Examples like this abound all over the world in public office and business.
Not the same. All the people you mentioned were voted in. In this case these two people were appointed

I see. So even the roads have to be made to handle the weight of a plane. So basically owning the plane s not the issue is if he would be able to enjoy owning it in Nigeria.

I don't know what the requirement of parking a plane would be but John Travolta parks his plane in his house and it is a jet. If you have a long enough drive way why can't you have a small plane like a cessna.

I even know Nigerians that respelled their name after they moved to the states because it was just easier for people to understand. He a name has a "gb" sound but you throw out the "g" then you have changed the whole name. Gbenga is not Benga and Nneka is not Neka. The pronounciation I can almost understand but changing the spelling, to me is ridiculous. Keep in mind that not only africans do this though. Alot of Polish people change the spelling of their names too
Family › Re: Sex Before Marriage Does It Help? by Outstrip(f): 7:32pm On May 25, 2009
I personally do not think that you should test drive. I was very sexually curious. I used to buy books and read about sex even when I was a virgin. I remember I had this book called 101 ways to drive a man wild in bed. I had the karma sutra. I had books on erotic massages. I was really curious about all things romance and sex. Most men do not appreciate virginity in this day and age and besides what is the point of saving it for someone who has been around the block a couple of times. Bottom line though the Bible says it is a sin. If you are engaged though and know you are marrying the person then it is up to you to decide when the marriage started. Was it when you invited family over to celebrate with you or was it when she said I will be your wife and you both agreed as a couple.
Family › Re: Pls Advice, I'm At The Point Of A Marriage Break by Outstrip(f): 6:07pm On May 25, 2009
I think your wife needs to get counselling on her own. Not with you. There is something there that makes her not want to be close or intimate with people. If you guys can afford it then I think she should see a therapist on her own and then you guys can do it together. From you description of the issues she is not a bad person just that she is not approachable and that can kill any relationship. People are not born like that. Something ought to have happened that makes her not trust people. Is she a middle child?
Celebrities › Re: Jim Iyke Is The Most Romantic Man: His Jamaican Babe by Outstrip(f): 6:02am On May 25, 2009
Jim Iyke just comes across as arrogant. His attitude rubs me the wrong way. Even in a movie were he should be playing a humble role he still cannot hide his arrogance. He accuses Nigerian women of too much nyanga but his own is just too much. St Obi is tall, attractive and you can tell that he is a proud man (nothing sexier than when he toasts a girl in igbo LOL) but you do not get the sense that he is arrogant. Jim please marry her abeg so that we know that you are off the market and our sisters are safe. Marrying someone like him will be like marrying a woman. I can just hear him whining
