Thanks Lucrabasi though I have heard them referred to as both when I lived in Nigeria. I don't think it is ridiculous for our climate. What is ridiculous s a three piece suit in 95% weather when there is no need for it. My dad worked in University of Benin and this is what he wore to work everyday including his colleagues. Most goverment workers wore this o LOL

Family › Re: You Are Not A Man Without A Male Child? by Outstrip(f): 5:04pm On Apr 18, 2009
Actually it is the man that donates the chromosome to make a boy. The woman cannot. If a man does not have a son and he feels like blaming someone he can blame himself
Family › Re: You Are Not A Man Without A Male Child? by Outstrip(f): 6:14am On Apr 18, 2009
I can use my uncle in Nigeria as an example. He works for a big oil company and he is well off and the only son of his parents. He has two kids and they are both girls. My Aunty wanted more but after a difficult pregnancy that ended in a miscarriage he said no more. He will not lose his wife because she wants a son for him. Most people will almost keel over hearing that they are both content having only girls when he is an only son but my uncle is just fine with it and they have a very beautiful marriage.

Thank you. I did the conversion myself and I was shocked. You are very right about the mentality too. It is like someone getting abused but they feel that the abuse is justified because that is what they are used to. Another person says they think it is outrageous and the other people who are obviously okay with mistreatment jump in and try to tear him down. $17.00 for something that they should give you for free.

PS someone mentioned though that if you print it online it is free and if this is the case then every customer should also be told that and that is also if the online service is free because from what I heard you get charged to set up your account online also.
Romance › Re: Village Girls Is Better Than City Girls by Outstrip(f): 6:55am On Apr 15, 2009
I used to think that village girls were less exposed so less promiscuous but that is not the case. I guess I was young then to really understand it but HIV is on the rise in many villages in Nigeria and it is not because they are sitting at home pounding yam that they are catching it. I am not saying that the city girls are not promiscuous but do not lie to yourself and think that you will go there and find an angel besides a real man that really wants a woman will find a good woman anywhere
Romance › Re: Village Girls Is Better Than City Girls by Outstrip(f): 3:35am On Apr 15, 2009
Village girls are very promiscuous for the most part. I am speaking of Edo state sha don't know about the other states.

Haba. You are not mad. Your life is not over. You are beautiful, strong, intelligent woman. So you go crazy and who will lose. Snap out of it. Tell yourself that you deserve the best and decide what the best is for you. Please stop this "My life is over" thing. You had a life before him and you will have one after him. From what you have said he does not respect you, his family does not respect you and even his random pussy on the street calls the house and disrespects you and yet you are still mourning the marriage. What will it take for you to woman up and help yourself. Did you see the post a woman posted a few days ago about catching HIV from her husband? My dear this is not the time to feel sorry for yourself. Your life is not over. This is the beginning for you.
Family › Re: My Husband Is Killing Me Slowly by Outstrip(f): 12:53am On Apr 15, 2009
I don't even get the report part. Why does she have to report to anybody. Is this grade school? I just feel like you have self esteem issues. It seems you enjoy being treated like a dirty dish rag. It is one thing to cheat but then to let the whores start callng the house and then you acting like such a simple person. Do you think the so called woman called the house by mistake. You might as well be a piece of rotten meat to her and that is because your husband does not value you at all and his whores know this. I don't understand women like you. Some people ask for advice for things like how to deal with in laws, how to raise kids, how to spice up things in the bedroom etc and you come here with this. If you were my sister I would kick your ass.

Business › Re: GT Bank And Arbitrary Charges: 2500 Naira For A Letter! by Outstrip(f): 1:57am On Apr 14, 2009
I am surprised that people are saying "oh banks charge for reference letter". Why would a bank charge it's customers to show that they bank with them. I don't care if they have to make the paper at the bank this is just crazy. $17.00 for a letter that shout be free? This is simply stealing. It's just a pity that Nigerians in Nigeria have no other options. This makes me so upset

Fashion › Re: Underarm Hair On Girls - A Question Of Choice Or Just Plain Nasty? by Outstrip(f): 5:51am On Apr 12, 2009
It can even be nasty on men too. I saw a white guy with hairy armpits and maybe it's because his hair was straight and long but it kind of grossed me out.
Family › Re: Visitors Staying At Our House. by Outstrip(f): 4:52am On Apr 12, 2009
I think your mom needs to stand up. She is taking the easy way out and it is hurting her family. I don't blame your dad for being upset. He sees his family for two months max and yet your mother is bringing in extended familyhuh?? Mba. Your mother is simply taking the easy short cut way out and at the end it will not benefit her in anyway.

Thanks Mohawk. Did you see somebody say $460.00 for a a pursehuhhuh? That's more than my mortgage. I love fashion but I cannot even imagine it. Whaaaattttthuh? It seems most people in Nigeria want "real leather" depends on what people really know about real leather I guess. It doesn't have to be real leather to be cute
Romance › Re: deleted by Outstrip(f): 6:14am On Apr 09, 2009
If you are 19 as your name suggests then  would say listen to your parents. A responsible man will not ask a 19 year old girl to leave everything she knows to come live with him simply because he is obodo oyibo. Would he dare say that to your parents if he lived in Agbor (my apologies to my agbor peeps lol). Nonsense. If he loves you he will wait until your finish school. He will come to Nigeria to visit you when he can. He will continue to be attentive and loving. He will respect your parents by not forcing you to disobey them.

Career › Re: How Do I Move Forward Now ? by Outstrip(f): 5:51am On Apr 09, 2009
It's hard to give advice when I don't know where you live. If you are in the US then I would suggest that you take your GED and get in a community college and go part time to work toward your bachelors degree. You are smart if you have those certifications so I know you are more than capable.
Fashion › Re: Warning. Say No To Bikini Waxing by Outstrip(f): 10:55pm On Apr 07, 2009
funny you asked about nads because that was the first time I tried waxing myself. I went for it cause the yeye woman kept emphasing that it did not hurt like traditional waxing. Let's just say that it drew blood when I did it. I will not touch nads again even if they pay me. The kiwi chamomile lotion that came with it was good though. I wish I can buy that buy itself.

Family › Re: Products Of One Type Of Parenting by Outstrip(f): 7:51pm On Apr 06, 2009
I hope the boys turn out okay. People just need to raise their kids right. SOmetime I wonder if some parents should be aressted when their children commits a crime that is obviously due to their lack of supervision but that would just be a slippery slope. So sad.

PS
Is the father gay. It says lives with his partner. That usually means same sex partner
Family › Re: Which Of The Inlaws Should Respect Who More In A Nigeria Setting by Outstrip(f): 7:46pm On Apr 06, 2009
I think we are overlooking a few things here. Did he call your mother a witch to her face. It is wrong either way. I have issues with my in laws but I would never tell my husband that his mother is a witch. That is just too much. Being abusive to your mother in law is way out of line. As far as the passport issue I also do not see why her mother should not comment if she happened to know about it. Some people depend on their parents for guidance and this is not an intimate marital issue. If she was getting pressure from her husband and sister in law to do something illegal then there is absolutely nothing wrong in her seeking guidance. It is better to ask her mother that to carry it outside. Maybe if her mother had not stood her ground she would have given in to the pressure from her husband and sis in law. I am glad your mom talked sense into you. If they want to call your mother a witch over that then let them.
