How does this man even qualify as her father. From what she says he was just a sperm donor. He never contributed anything to her life at least nothing positive. Why should his opinion count. He should just get a wedding invitation like every one else. If he says he will not attend then o well.
Romance › Re: These Prostitutes: Do They Finally Settle Down And Get Married Or Wat? by Outstrip(f): 5:03am On Apr 05, 2009
They even marry first. The good ones find it hard to find a man and even if they do the goodness will be taken advantage of. I think men now adays just do not want to work to get a woman. The ex prostitute will not stress a man too much and will not be very picky so they marry quicker.

Family › Re: Cheating/about To Cheat Hubby by Outstrip(f): 5:05am On Apr 04, 2009
sistawoman I can see where you are coming from but I am not buying this the man might not know what cheating means. Why do you have to sit down and tell a man if you will not do it when I am there then it is cheating. That is just common sense. People flirt but when you get emotionally nvolved with someone it is cheating even if you are not having sex. So long as it is something you do not want your spouse to know. I don't see why a man or woman has to sit with their partner and clarify that.

I do agree 100% though that the lying part is unforgivable. To me if you cheat and get caught it does not have to be the end of it (I am not talking about aa dog here but if you get careless and cheat) but when you lie that to me just says that man has no honor. I can't deal with a liar.

Family › Re: Potty Training - Your Expert Advice by Outstrip(f): 5:24pm On Apr 01, 2009
Unless there is a parent that does not work out of the home and can dedicate that time to that with no other distractions first thing in the morning then 6 months is totally unrealistic. The only person I know who was able to start potty training at 9 months here in the states had a teenage son sit with her daughter till she pooped first thing in the morning till she pooped (she was also a stay at home mom). So if you are waking yo in the morning and think you will run around and leave the child by himself or herself in the potty at 6 months you are dreaming. It will not happen. Also some children will simply do when they are ready or when there is an incentive to do so
Health › Re: How Many Times Do You Take Your Bath/shower Daily? by Outstrip(f): 5:16pm On Apr 01, 2009
I cannot believe that someone made a thread out of this but funny enough I was reading this thing on msn.com a while back and this girl was complaining that her boyfreind does not bathe and that after a couple of weeks the oil from his body soaks the sheets and it looks like when you put french fries on paper. I was like she has to be nasty too because how can you sleep with a man that has not showered in weeks and his body oils are starting to soak the sheets

My son is honestly giving me a headache with his own. He will run and tell me potty but when I rush to get the potty I found that he does it before he comes and reports hmself. I have consider swatting his bottom like someone said but I don't want to inflict pain when I don;t know if he is doing it on purpose or not. I wish I did not have carpet I would let him run around butt naked.

Family › Re: My Husband Slapped Me Twice And Now He's Not Talking To Me by Outstrip(f): 9:01pm On Mar 27, 2009
I don't even need to know how she said it or what she said. That is just my personal opinion. There is still no excuse to slap his wife much less when she is pregnant. If she had a knife or a loaded gun then his options are either to run or get it from her with any means necessary. This is not the case here. I find it so funny that if a man gets into a fight with an agbero in the motor park they will say that he is a street thug but he assaults a wife who probably has a cleaner mouth than the agbero and they say he was just provoked. We just need to look at this as a stigma. It is a no no. If she had said that he stinks he has every right to be upset but to slap herhuhhuhhuh I almost feel like I am in the twilight zone.

I cannot imagine hearing my brother's wife calling me and telling me that my brother hit her. It will just break my heart and nobody in my family wll take t lightly. Those kinds of people are stigmatized in my family. They are the kind that when they leave my mom will sweep and mop the floor so that they do not leave anything behind. This is so disgusting and people are here justifying this garbage. I give up.

My two cents to the poster is not to take this lightly. I know it is hard becasue you are pregnant but you have to make it clear that it will not be tolorated. Under no condition. Marriage is a long time and if people here tell you to go apologize becasue you are only just a woman tell them that if suffer head is their portion in life that is fine but it is not yours.

Sweet T:
@Outstrip

Are those two things on your profile for real or just transplanted??

@Poster

I'm so sorry for your pains but this is reality of what most marriages are like. They wine and dine you during dating period, they promise to turn Kilamanjaro to pacific ocean only for you to say yes. how long have you been married? It is really sad that your hubby turned to slaps just for asking him to take a shower, what would he have done if you refuse to prepare dinner ?? This is definitely not a good sign of a happy home to be but life requires tacts and wisdom. If this is the first time he laid his hands on you, make sure that you work on it being the last time. Find a memeber of his family that your husband respect and tell him what happened. I'm a firm believer that a man that lay his hands on his wife once, he's capable of worst kind of violence. Take it easy, it's not the end of the world. If he is not talking to you, i'm sure you can get a respected member of his family to talk to him and let him no how hurt you are. Please take care of your pregnancy and your body. Your husband will regret his actions only if you tote the faithful path. But the violence has to stop, next time he attempts it remind him that he did not promise you violence before he married you. Goodluck sweetheart and may God bless you.
But should it be accepted. Should we say that most nigerian marriages are like that and leave it that way. More and more older nigerians are divorcing. This is shameful. They are divorcing after their children have even grown up and married themselves. The church is asleep while all this is happening. I have said it before and will saying again. Just because a woman is in a marriage where the man beats her does not mean it is not broken. That relationship is already broken. I stand by my comments that it is better to leave a marriage than expose your children to this sort of evil. They will carry it on to the next generations. These are the kinds of things that need to be broken. You cannot use culture to deny yourself the things that God has promised you like peace and joy. A woman should look at her husband and know that no matter what he is her supporter. To lose that feeling for your husband is the death of a marriage

Wow I can see the true colors coming out. He called Osisi a slut. Why does that not surprise me. I already knew who you were. Shame on you. You think being born with a penis makes you a man?

some of the posts here are shocking . . .
LOL. Why is it though. Let me give you an example of two NIgerian pastors. One is my sister's fiance's pastor in Nigeria that sent her a letter telling her that her soon to be husband is everything and she is nothing, she is a fraction and he is a whole number. She has no wisdom and he is her wisdom. Another one is a very good friend of mine who is now here in teh states but she told me that her pastor in Nigeria is such a man of faith that he believes that even if a man is abusive it is better for the woman to stay there and die that to leave her marriage. These are people that call themselves men of God. I feel so sorry for all those women in those churches. They will have sons that will carry on that culture of agberoism and they would have heard the message from a "man of god".

Elderberry I have a sharp tongue. Thank you for pointing that out like I did not know. I pray that none of my loved one's fall into the hands of people like you. It even shows the level of gnorance here for someone to say that a woman will be send packing. Who will send her packing. Does the house belong to him that he will send her packing. Y'all kill me with this "I am so ignorant that I cannot see it attitude". Send her packing. Haahaahahahahaha.

Dellynash, appologising is the slippery slope to even worse treatment. If you were my sister you would be out of his house as fast as you can.

Appologise now and you have:

a. told him it is ok for him to slap you next time

b. permanently ceded emotional authority over you to him.

Pele o . . . you got a bad husband.
Thank you for your input because I think hearing it from a man might make her think differently

Elderberry speak for yourself and your wife if anybody will even subject themselves to marriage to you. You are very irresponsible to sit here and tell a pregnant woman who got slapped by her husband to apologize to the man. You should be ashamed. People like you are the kind that have told woman to stay with abusive men and when they kill her or seriously injure her you all will then be quiet. The fact that it does not rub you the wrong way that a man slaps his pregnant wife shows me that you are the child of the devil and that if you have not already beat up your wife you will soon. Shameless men.
Family › Re: My Husband Slapped Me Twice And Now He's Not Talking To Me by Outstrip(f): 4:37pm On Mar 27, 2009
I can't believe that people are telling her to apologise. She is a pregnant woman and the man slapped her. If she was not pregnant I am sure he would have beat her to a pulp. I wish she had slapped him back that would have shown him to respect people. Is a husband God? No he is not. You do not lay your hand on a woman much less a pregnant one. Some men are just simply agberos. Period. All those men here saying that she should apologize are simply wife beaters also. They know I am not lying so don't come here and try to deny it.

@ poster do not even consider aborting that baby and secondly stress is the last thing you need when you are pregnant. The absolute last thing. You just have to ignore him for now before he beats the child out of your body. I will say plan the future when the child is here and you have settled into motherhood. Your husband has to know in no uncertain terms that you will not accept that agberoish behavior and he has to be repentant because if he is not he will do it again and again and again. I am sorry but a man who slaps his pregnant wife and does not apologize and beg for forgiveness is not worth the poop in the toilet. The fact that he is not even talking to you shows me that he does not feel like he did anything wrong. That is dangerous.

Why does everything have to be complicated in Ngeria. When I started my business as a sole proprietorship I just sent it in the mail and got a letter of confirmation. When I switched it to an LLC I sent 125.00 n the mail and that was the end of it. Everything just seems so much more complicated in nigeria
