I couldn't read all the posts, but the picture reminded me of when I was doing my youth service in one of the western states. There was a woman from delta state who operated a small kiosk where she sold local gins, cigarettes etc. We used to sit on some benches while patronizing her and sometimes she'll leave us there while she rushed off to do this or that.

On this particular day she left me there while she rushed off for something. While I was waiting, her son branched there on his way back from PRIMARY school (he couldn't have been more than 9 yrs old), dropped his bag and proceeded to pour himself a full cup of ogogoro. Shocked at what I was seeing, I stopped him, took the cup from him and reported him to his mum when she came back. I watched in stunned silence as she berated him for being greedy, poured half of the ogogoro back into the bottle and handed the cup back to him to drink.
oh my goodness. You should have used the opportunity to educate her though. She probably does not understand that it is different from Tampico

Do it a court of law and just have a pastor come to the home and bless the union. I don't think it is anybodys business what your status is. I do understand why the church does it though. To protect innocent people from going into a sexual relationship with someone carrying the virus. There are many pastors around that will gladly bless your union. I understand though that it will be a fight with her family

You mean butcher.

I am glad they were banned. I am wondering why people are surprised with UNIBEN. It was not too long ago that the medical program was scrapped because of some dirty business going on. Wasn't that UNIBEN?

You have missed my point, he did not call out all the people who were insensitive, he singled out the women even though there were more insensitive men than women and they said worse things. As a guy, I find what the men on this thread said more offensive than anything the women have said,  undecided
I see that and i would have probably singled out teh few women myself for the reasons I stated above. In a way you kind of expect that Nigerian men would be the ones being insensitive. You would not expect it from women especially in a society were women's rights are almost non exixtent. I understand what you are saying now but I can understand too why this guy went of on the females

Now I see where you are coming from, fela is your mentor.
May I suggest you visit Redemption Camp or Canaan land some day, you will see 'zombies' that you are not fit to even wash their cars, they are smarter and wiser than you a thousand times over.
Cicero you are not a christian. You are a heathen. I say this because you lost your way a long time ago. You do not even see that you have lost it so how can you find yoru way back. The man is unrepentant. If he was a man of God he would come back and apologize. Instead he bragged about it. You are talking about atheist having a field day. Who gave them the fodder they needed. Your Oyedepo did that. He should be worried about the temperature in hell today because he has made a mockery of Christ. God is not a man. Oyedepo sits to sh1it just like the girl he slapped shi11ts to sleep. He is not more important to God than she is. He is possibly even held to higher standard. The Bible even says that if eating meat will cause your brother to sin then you should not eat it. This man has made a mockery of Christ worldwide. At the end of the day those who follow Christ and not some MOG as you people call it know that this man needs to repent. There is no place for this nonsense in Christianity

Are you so drunk you can't read very well? Majority of the people who are not sympathetic to him are men while Majority of the people commending him for being brave to come out are women. You people always manage to find a way to blame women for everything. If you can't tell the difference between F and M, let us know so that we can help you before you go around embarrassing yourself.

The only female that was didn't agree with him telling his story was anonymous6 and even then she was still sympathetic because she showed she was concerned about how people will perceive now.
You are wrong. There were at least 2 other females that were not just in disagreement but were totally insensitive. I will not say annonymouse was insensitive it was more, I don't even know the word for it. When it comes to issues of someone in a powerless position being abused we would expect that Nigerian females will be more sympathetic and even champion the cause. It is bit frustrating to hear a female joke about r4pe

Beer is not even sweet. As an adult I cannot stand the smell not to talk of tasting it. If a child looks like they are willing to taste beer then they probably already have a taste for it. Very disturbing picture. Some things are just not right

it so unfortunate that many of the ladies in here are not being sympathetic with the poor boy.
some are even saying he he enjoyed it and he should keep quiet.
i am beginning to think that women are very selfish.
imagine for a moment that a lady is the one narrating this horrible experience. do you know how much outcry the men are going to cause among feminists had they said the lady should keep quiet?

i really praise this fellow for coming out to talk about it. it takes much courage to do what he has done especially in a society where men are seen as unabusable. at least not by women.

pathetic!
unfortunately, the society has made us to think that way.
but the wrongness of an abuse is not a function of how we see the abuse but the psychological effect it leaves with the abused. i have a friend who was abused by his aunty (older cousin). today, the boy dey fear women like mad. it is affecting his whole social life!
When it comes to civil rights I feel like Nigerian women are the worst of all. Not that the men are saints but Nigerian women in this arena to me are an embarassment. When the girl at Abia State University was raped I was shocked to find that men were the ones who were more verbal in speaking against it. It is really a shame. these women forget that one day they are going to give birth to a child and since most women in Nigeria cannot survive without a housemaid or family member living with them their own children will be exposed to this sort of thing. I applaud him for speaking up. Maybe that will get people talking. Even if the parents will not discuss it with a child a young fan will hear him say this and the next time the housemaid touches him he can say "I know what you are doing is wrong". Kudos to him

I was just imagining what if. What if she had retaliated and slapped him. She would have received the beaten of her life from the whole congregation and they will probably just say they killed her for God. The man was lucky. If he had slapped a truly crazy person he would have been the one apologizing
Christianity EtcRe: What If That Girl Sue Oyedepo? by Outstrip(f): 8:32pm On Dec 20, 2011
The girl will not sue. Oyedepo himsself will tell her that something bad will probably happen to her if she sues a "Man of God". They will scare her away.

They look like drug heads. I think it is silly though to jail two consenting adults for having sex with each other. Then they also put them on a sex registry? Give me a break. As bad and nasty as it sounds I think it is ridiculous to label them with the same label you would give a monster that rapes a two year old.

No, but I just think situations like that, should be kept with in the family not to the media but if you agree with him telling the world about it that is fine, I don't though because he won't gain from it in the long run, especially in the Nigerian society.

just say you disagree with my opinion, don't try and spin something on me to make me feel guilty for my opinion.
Actually that line of thinking is dangerous. It should not be kept in the family. Many children suffer in silence because of that "keep it in the family" mentality when it comes to child molestation. He still carries it with him even at this age. He even said that sex is overrated and that tells me that the experience has given him some hangups about sex. He should be applauded for talking about it. ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF OUR SOCIETY
