I mean it's laughable now but the way they came for JK was something terrible when it was happening. Fam, which agenda did they not push?
They said she was racist because she made Nagini an Asian woman.
They said she was anti-semitic because of the goblins, even likened her to Goebbels.
At a point, they even started saying she no sabi write.
Omo! The matter been heavy that year.
Omo...she get thick skin dieee i swear... because the cancelling mob was after her very livelihood.

Mama didn't even fold and continued to give hot takes daily grin grin

Her mantra was "Never appeal or apologize to the cancelling mob".

IMO laslas Kanye is uncancelable...
They can take away everything he owns but not his fans or his talent...
Spitting facts...you can't cancel someone with actual talents and a fantastic array of works over the years. The alphabet people and misguided feminist came for Chimamanda Adichie, Jk Rowling and David Chappelle and all the cancellations were DOA.

The Jk Rowling was the most laughable...like imagine cancelling the author of "Harry Potter" as in The "Harry Potter"!

Good grief!.

this here.the indians definitely got the memo.
the jews, in the long run probably got as bad a sdeal as blacks. final solution, religiously justified antisemitism - but they followed the money and now they are calling the shots - even when they are meting out the exact same shit that wa meted on them in the past.
Jews and Asians are closely knit and have worked thier way up upper echelons and sit on prominent boards that shape world decisions.

Blacks on the other hand simply doesn't have this pull and is an entirely "Black" problem. There was a day were African Americans where on about been "Foundational blacks" and superior to blacks everywhere...this kind of shallow thinking can't be found among Jews or Asians.

Nigerians in the UK are even voicing concerns for UK immigration laws to be change to stop more Nigerians coming over.

You can't make any significant progress as a race with this warped thinking.

Elon is also a producer. It's harder to cancel the main gear than it is to cancel a cog or wheel.
Elon is a full sized meme but also a main driver of future tech solutions that will be critical to this planet survival in years to come and he is also....white. so he could make an anti Semitic or any derogatory statement and probably go scot free imo. He even owns the main "cancel culture tool" i.e twitter and can probably control any narrative.

Kanye West has been an influential hip hop head been a producer and a rapper with numerous Grammies to show for it. Also he has made giant strides in fashion with the Yeezy brand...and until recently was a certified billionaire.....but "Black".

So him been cancelled this quickly with this much achievement, must certainly be a race thing imo my good man. Proving his point.

I just think they are particularly keen on using Kanye as an example. Other ppl have done far worse and they've been rewarded nevertheless. Ie Sarah Silverman.

It's when it comes to Black Man, white people go know how to do virtue signalling and righteousness. When it comes to one of their own they turn a blind eye.

It's funny how Americans view Jews as some kind of endangered species that must be protected even tho this group holds massive influence in world politics. They are the world's hegemon in Finance — look at how many top hedge fund managers, financiers and banks are headed by Jews. Heck even Janet Yellen is Jewish.

Kanye West dey fvvk up back to sha as him no dey give him mouth brakes. Maybe na the Bipolar disorder dey worry am or na just him character I no know. Anyways.....
Giving..Kanye West is a nut case atm but these companies cutting ties with him somewhat proves his point and the comment that started this debacle that "perhaps Jews hold too much power". I don't want to tie it to a race thing, but i think if someone like Elon Musk tries this type of thing, he's most likely coming out unscathed.

The horror of this scene!
The adaptation from the book was so spot on for this scene, even better as in the book the battle was so swift in description on a stormy night.

Rhaenyra really sent Luke to those folks to "bend the knee" with just a word of mouth while riding on a lil ass dragon? Luke deserved that smoke tbh..

Great season but i still had the problem of pacing. I would have love the "Dance of the Dragons" to begin fully in this season. Hope they get better writers for S2.

not really...popcorn movies are very forgettable...
They have no depth or anything worth remembering...
I enjoy them while watching but 5 mins after if you ask me the plot...I won't remember

I don't know much about the Black Adam character since I don't read the comics...but I know The Rock can only act the same character every movie
And has he killed every "said same character" roles or not? are they enjoyable and worthwhile flicks or not? are they relatively successful flicks or not?. If i deep it, some actors do this too and i don't hear peep. Ryan Reynolds is basically the same character in every role, like an extended version of his true self and yet people want to see his next movie. I don't know how deep your movie knowledge is, but there use to be this American Japanese actor called Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, he acted as a villain (or what 80's or 90's kid use to call "Bose) and every Hollywood film maker was always casting him in that same role. My eyes will literally lit up in excitement picking a VCR from the video club back then and seeing this guy as the Villain..He was that good in that same character.

Point Being....Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson knows what works for him and he sticks to it and kills it every time. I probably wouldn't want to see a "Rom com/Drama starring The Rock but if a 5000 year old G is been resurrected and blessed with God like powers and smashing skulls...i very much like that guy to be The Rock!. Versatility isn't for everyone and it doesn't make that person a bad actor.

Finally...Acting ain't even The Rock's first love, so probably give him a break.

Yeah, heard they turned LOTR: Return of The King full movie into an NFT in its fledgling "movieverse".

Even with critics tearing it down I don't see it not doing decently in the BO if it's word of mouth is solid. It's the audience reception I'm most concerned about and not even the critics.

It's Kilar's policy from the old WarnerMedia that I feel is responsible for this massive money crunch. He prioritized HBOMax at the cost of box office. The Batman for example would have made more money if people weren't so sure they'd get it on streaming 'free' after 45days.
This decision still beats me. How are you allowing one of your biggest titles and one of pop culture icon, available on a volatile market like VOD after a measly 45 days??

Cinematic releases are still where the big money lies. Paramount were on about the same treatment for "Maverick" to boost Paramount+ profile and Tom Cruise was not having it and look at the magic it did for Maverick at the BO, letting it ride for as long as possible at the cinema before a VOD release.

Warner Bros is most likely ending the year as the worst performing "Big 5" studio. Sony still has more titles to release to keep it in 4th place.
Hearing they are selling some of their old movies release as NFT to attempt to make any breakaway at the end of the financial year. They are also betting on "Black Adam" making bucks at the box office, and with critics tearing it down, it's not really looking good.

Black Adam (2022)

Porncorn flick. Very enjoyable but forgettable.

Pierce Brosnan carried the movie.

The Rock failed to convince me that's he's Black Adam. All I could see was him portraying himself just like he has always done.

This movie will do relatively well but it's not a billion dollar movie.
At bolded....is that not an oxymoron? Finding it hard to see how one can forget what he or she very much enjoyed.

Second paragraph....is there any characteristics that "Black Adam" is supposed to have that "The Rock" failed to portray? Charisma? Charm? Brute?

Hmmm...
Waiting on the audience score but what the critics are having a problem with is the somewhat "violent" nature. It makes me wonder what critics actually want from a superhero flick, marvel went through the "family comical sappy" route with "Thor: L& T" and still got bashed by critics.
Reminds me when "Joker" (2019) came out, and critics where on about crazy theories like " it increased street violence" only for the movie to completely smash it at the audience score and Joaquin Phoenix going on to win an Oscar for his performance.

Euphoria is a masterpiece show bruh.
The acting even for young adults is out of this world. When you get to S2, you'd know how unmatched that show is.
One thing I love about the show is it's unique use of music score to great effect. The show also use the music to convey the feelings of the characters.
That show and Stranger Things are one of the few reasons I'm warming up to 80-90s music.
Really? Not saying S2 wasn't a tad okay but it was overly dramatic for no reason and veered off too much from the central plot with so many subplots that failed to reach any meaningful end. Barbie Ferreira's arc in S1 was very interesting core subplot that failed to materialize in S2 with so little screen time that she's not even returning for S3.

House of the Dragon - Episode 8

The standout scene from this episode is, indisputably, Viserys' walk to the throne. Paddy Considine absolutely sold that walk but the expression on the faces on each of the cast helped cement that performance, as well as Ramin Djawadi blessing our ears with an OST aptly named Protector of the Realm to accompany that scene. It was an absolute beauty of a scene.

Also, shout-out to Maddie Evans as the maid Aegon harassed, Dyana. For such a short scene, she really did some great acting with not just her line delivery, but her expressions and body language as well. I was impressed.
Fantastic casting all round but his is the most magnificent imo till date, his delivery and panache in the role so far has been so top tier and that scene epitomize it all. Wouldn't be surprised if he has an Emmy Shout.

"Ramy (2019) S3"

Alhamdulillah

This was the strongest season yet with Ramy Youssef and all in the writers room challenging the borders of what is really halal and haram in such rollercoaster wave of emotions without losing any of the great comedic feel that made S1 and S2 such a hit.
The end scene was both sombre and satisfying at the same time, making me yearn for a fourth season to at least "tie up things" and have a befitting conclusion and hoping the wait for it is not as long as this.

Emily The Criminal (2022)

EMILY THE CRIMINAL is a gripping anti-capitalist crime film. Aubrey Plaza brings a level of ferocity we haven't really seen her showcase before making this one of her best performances. Grounded with exceedingly dangerous & relatable stakes, this one both thrills & entertains.

If Kings Landing belongs to the Blacks, them it means Viserys is dead. Just as many viewers wishes. grin

At this rate, the show might just be finished in two seasons. The next episode will probably see the final major time jump. It's prolly all out war from there.
That's the major complain in the subred, That they are going too fast and missing some components from the source material as they go on. But i think HBO doesn't want to stretch an already huge budget for this any further than it's required, so they want to quickly wrap this up inside 2 or 3 seasons while seeking and funding other projects in the GOT verse.

Woke up early with an intense urge to see this again and i immediately moved to quench that urge!

I am glad that this cut exist. A different perspective from the first one ( which i also liked btw), but this was significantly better and the much improved ratings proves it. Off all Zack Snyder's work in the DCEU, it's only BvS i can fault. The man sabi the assignment of proper dark and gritty Superhero picture die!

Of course, the reactions have an element of relativity to them but that doesn't make them any more invalid.
Lots of lacklustre entries into many series would make for great standalone content but that doesn't change the fact that they were a serious drop in quality in their respective franchises.

Yeah, the Dany turn wasn't even one of the bad parts of S8. The anticlimactic ending to the Night King Saga was the first big issue. That final council meeting was the nail in the coffin.
This is was the main problem and everything just went to sh!t from there. The Battle with the Night King should have been the "Mother of all Battles" in the entire history of Tv series across any genre. I mean the character development was actually Voldemort and Thanos level. To even speak his name in westeros sent shivers, I completely lost my sh!t when he turned Viserion into a wight, that's like , one of the greatest wow moment in Tv series history, so to see how all these character development ended with that piss poor dark af battle was a great disservice and left a bitter taste.
