I pray Theodore Orji compliment this good work by constructing Aba roads. They're arguably the worst in Nigeria. |
Setting the tone for the discussions, Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, who noted his disagreement that constitution amendment was sine qua non to development, stressed that value change was more important for law and order, economic, political, social development than constitution amendment. Fashola said: "What is under consideration is whether a constitution amendment is really what we want. What lies at the heart of the clamour is the desire for a better life, not really a better document. Nigerians want to pay school fees, feed themselves and work. The Constitution is just an agreement on how we relate to one another. "Its effectiveness depends on our sincerity to honour agreement. We don't have electoral malpractices, because the constitution is bad; our roads are bad for motorists not because the constitution is bad. The crash of the stock exchange isn't because the constitution is bad. Those things that frustrate our people cannot be put at the doorstep of the Constitution. They lie in our diminishing values." Fashola is a professional Carpenter, hitting the nail @ the head with reckless abandon. |
Ndigbo Udo diri anyi. I'm impressed with Eze Onlytruth's speech. Can't wait for the election to kickstart. Udo |
luvinhubby: And they want to teach Ngozi & Aganga EconomicsI wonder my brother!!! |
dlex21: its safe to say while some pple are pleased wiv the movies they've seen this year, others are expecting hollywood to do better...well visit https://www.nairaland.com/1040230/movies-u-cant-wait-watch for movies that would be released later this year and beyond...i can assure u they should more than make up for the previous underwhelming ones...Gbam!!! Avengers na BAD MOVIE!!! The HULK na my favourite character with very bad moves. Then Battleship and Dark knight are also very good |
What da heck are u guys talking about If we don't attract FDI, most of us here will start cursing GEJ and now the west are interested we're saying we don't want them.Who do we prefer? Chinese, Indians or Lebanese? I believe you know how badly they treat Nigerians in their firms. Now compare how the Western owned firms treat Nigerians to the way Chinese treat us in their firms. Nigeria needs US,UK,Germany and all Illuminati countries (for conspiracy theorists) to develop and improve our lives. FG can't give everybody job, we need the private sector to provide the needed jobs for us. |
Before opening this thread, I was sure that Igbos will mess up this thread. Look @ many hidden posts. Anyi na Achokwu too much!!! SMHS @ NL Ndigbo |
dayokanu: This Mimiko must be a m0r0nThis story will make voters to reject any money that ACN will give them. We all know that the latest way to rig now is by buying votes. Because of this propaganda by Mimiko, Ondo voters may even reject Naira notes from the ACN |
Selamsweet18: Hmmm! Really!Nigerians are generally hardworking & Intelligent irrespective of the tribe. But whenever you see a Nigerian in a foreign land, there is over 70% chance that the Nigerian is an Igbo. Igbos travel alot |
I guess next year will be Men's turn? I need 2 start writing now cos competition will be fierce. |
omenka: As it stands today, the only type of war Iran can afford is propaganda war. Make no mistakes, an outbreak of an actual war between Iran and Israel isn't gonna be faught by both nations alone, the entire Mideast is gonna be engulfed. The Regional might of Iran was dealt a nasty blow with the fall of Gadaffi, Ben Ali, and Assad who is on his out. Those regimes were (and wld be) replaced with what I'd puppet governments with Washington rather than Tehran as the puppeteer. Strong regional powers like Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, and Pakistan are more sympathetic to the west than Iran. With all these, US might not even need to lift a finger before Iran is crushed. And remember, there is growin decsention in Tehran over the state of the economy due to western sanctions. As the economy deteriorates, the internal apathy towards the Ahmadinajad regime grows, and an unpopular regime can't afford to go to war.+1000000 likes. I'm sure Putin (GEJ too) will be fasting and praying for war to start so the price of oil will increase by over 200%. |
Billyonaire: I have no reason to speculate. But I know that a war against Iran, will not be like the war in Afghanistan and Iraq. Its going to be difficult for Israel to survive the aftermath. It doesnt matter that Saudi Arabia and Quatar are America's babysitters, cos its not going to be a conventional sovereign war. Its going to be fought by factions of terrorist, armed by Russia, Iran and Islam, Yes, Islam enclaves. It will be the first time, drones will be loaded with nuclear war-heads. The war will redefine the world. Also Iran won't survive either. |
obadiah777: they may be 'cowards' but they have DESTINY on thier side.Pls explain the "destiny" that is on their side? The Arabs r supposed to be stronger dan d Israelis cos they're more in number. So ur bible quote may actually be in favour of Israel |
As far as I'm concerned, Dino's carrer as an activist is over. Infact Okupe and Metuh will have a field day tearing Dino apart any time he criticizes GEJ's govt. My advice, he should leave politics and enter business. |
Seun: In a free society there's nothing like food shortage, only expensive food. Even if all crops in the country are destroyed, we'll just import more rice and other cheap staples. This is why economically dumb laws banning importation of food are dangerous; they take away that option. In the absence of dumb restrictions on food importation, the only way you can have food shortage is if the entire world runs out of food. Not likely.Correct!!! Somthing tells me that GEJ will rescind its decision to increase the Import duty on rice and wheat flour. I believe the Minister of Agric will advise him to do so. |
Wislet: IF YOU KNOW YOU ARE IGBO, IGNORE THIS MEANINGLESS THREAD.Ndibe anyi, kindly obey this post please!!! No matter the provocvation pls ignore |
This issue have been overflogged nah. Let's let go of this thing abeg. |
’Until there is fairness , equity, justice and love for one another, Nigeria would remain down but once these virtues are propagated, healthy competition will creep in because all the best brains in the world are from Nigeria. Go to Europe and you will discover that the best brains there are from Nigeria – the most brilliant people all over the world, yet nothing is happening here because of tribalism and unnecessary bickering and antagonisms,” he said +1000 likes |
@ d rate oil @ which oil is being explored and found in differnet part of the world and America reducing drastically its dependence on foreign oil, Oil will be sold for $10 per barrel in 10-20yrs time (Exergerrated). That's why we should stop our Governors and NASS from wanting to spend all we're earning now and also raising the medium term budget benchmark to $82 per barrel. We're in deep sh1t but we don't know. |
This is frightening. Now Eko Atlantic city may no longer be as viable as it should be. We the south may even start moving up north |

nagoma: As if the house actually wanted to review his work and for the benefit of Nigerians. I wonder who should be trusted , the house or SLS.I don't like SLS. However when compared to those thugs that call themselves our Reps, I'll choose SLS anyday and anytime. They shouldn't even be encouraged to reduce the powers of the office of the CBN Gov cos it'll affect negatively subsequent CBN governors and ofcourse citizens will suffer. |
ogugua88: I used the example because they mentioned they got the idea from the US lol. size38: Rubbish. They only cites USA when it suites them and looks the other way when it does not. |
I'm not a lawyer but I think this runs against the Law of the Country. Are the Plate numbers not from the FG? And we've not started practicing True Federalism like USA, so Ogugua's California example can't work here. A lawyer who wants make name can sue LASG. |
This means that we'll have to import our food next year. This flooding'll have an adverse effect on our agric sector. |
billante: Nairaland is just a place for kids dat have access to internet to be insulting their fathers!Gbachi ha nkiti!!! This budgeted amount is small compared to what other countries budget for Olympic. We should put pressure on the Sports Minister to resuscitate National Sports Lottery and use the proceeds to fund our sports and making sure that our government remove their hands from managing sports. People please in developed countries that we so much love to compare ourselves with, atleast 20% of their working population are engaged in sports and sports related business. So please lets stop saying that investing 7billion naira is a waste of money (assuming our politicians behave. Sports business is a multi trillion $ business. |
Guys, let's not single out GEJ. This man was a freedom fighter and has genuine love for his people. I make bold to say that our own leaders who fought for our own freedom were not as good as this man. Azikiwe's,Awolowo,Sardauna's were all corrupt. Infact, none of us here will be as honest as this man if we are to be made president of Nigeria. This man is a rare breed |
Odinaka00: Genevieve βξ lyk pesin wey dey mourn her hubby o.....oh! I ve forgotten dat she s nt married yet, she stil a top single lady wey stil dey dance azonto 4 clubsDude, pray that u achieve half of what she's achieved in her life (still in her early 30's) in ur chosen carreer(with due respect). Being single is not a crime and I bet u've sisters, aunts, cousins, etc that r in dia 40's and still not yet married. Do u insult dem like dis? For the fact dat Genevieve was rumoured to have been considered by James Bond producers as a Bond gal is no mean feat. She's achieved a lot and she's also a future national awards awardee. She deserves our admiration, praisse, etc cos she's a star and worthy Ambassador. @ d topic, She's very charming indeed. |
jammyng: Doesn't make much difference, we have suitable covers.Which cover? Smalling and Jones neva recover finish. This's bad!!! |
Guys, heard dis story about 2 months ago and few days later our President increased the import duty of flour by 65% cos of his cassava bread project. Dangote may've realised that the flour business won't be as profitable as it was and suddenly Manna from haven (Tiger from SA) appeared. Dangote being smart sold his shares. Advantage of this deal is that the flour business will now be opened for newcomers as Tiger brand will not enjoy the priviledges that Dangote was enjoying and this will give people the confidence to enter the industry. |
