I think we should not be hasty in making judgements. People that write others off just because they come from broken homes are wrong ....... so also those that say it doesn't matter. Broken homes affect kids while growing up and they more often than not carry the effects to adulthood and it might reflect on her relationship with the opposite sex and marriage. She's only said her side of the story - have you heard from the other side ?? Are there traits that she must have demonstrated in the relationship that might have given prospective in-laws cause for concern. I for one, am tempted to think so based on her write ups. It's not just about - the person that will love you will come - she probably also needs counseling. |
Now this is what I call issue based!!!! |
Am sorry to say, but that's what she signed up for when she married Tuface! He was like that before you married him (and you knew it). You're even lucky it's not a completely new lady. |
Most musicians of this age are short sighted. The arts and sciences are the vestige we leave behind for posterity to remember us by. I wonder what legacy these guys will have in 20/30 yrs, when they refuse to work on their repertoire and only seem to enjoy partying and taking pictures for instagram and looking to make some quick dough from their popularity Save for the likes of Asa, who sings music for the ages, these guys will just fade in no time. Was listening to Christy Essien's classic Seun rere the other day and I am like wow ! these song is still banging after almost 40 years |
Hope he's as talented as Jay jay.... but why Arsenal ?? Anyway sha Arsenla has a reputation for developing young talents |
hollandis:There are some infringements that warrants and indirect free kick rather than a direct one regardless of the position of the foul or the distance from which it was taken. Obstruction and a goalkeeper handling a back pass are examples of such an offence. If a player scores an indirect free kick, it is disallowed. So no politics here. |
Agbonivbare's death once again highlights the relevance of this thread. May he rest in peace and I hope his remaining teammates will live a good and long life! |
Sagamite:Abi O....and I don't get, if that your friend is not a gay partner (apologies for my sarcasm) why don't you just leave them and focus on your own life ?? At least you'll have less people coming to your office asking for lunch and barging and shouting on you. On another thought........ Lifetitudes is probably right, the girl likes you and you have not and have never given her the needed attention. And from little I learned bout women, that kind of 'likeness' does not leave easy. So you can make your 'insecure' friend's accusation a self fulfilling prophecy....but that's if you wan do wicked !! |
Just vote according to your conscience cos it's difficult to determine what's true and what's a lie these days ! |
Yeah the guy's name was Omar Ben Salah - Omar Ben Salah. he played on the left wing while Donald sie played from the right. Tchiressou and Alain Maguy pulled the string in the middle. Bassole only made the game against Nigeria at Tunisia 94 cos one of them was unavailable can't remember which. And there was the wunderkind - Youssouf Fofana, who never really delivered on his promise of greatness |
stagger:I can remember that the game was played some days before my resumption back to boarding school and it was not televised live on any Nigerian station (we only had NTA and govt owned stations back then). But the game was shown immediately after the famous 7 O' clock news. But by that time I had listen to the live commentaries and my sadness would not allow me watch the full match again. I can't even remember Amuneke playing in the game. Of the 6 men in front of the defence, I remember 5 - Adepoju, Christopher Nwosu(his only appearance for the eagles), Okocha, Siasia, Yekini.....so yeah he could have been the sixth guy. I was aware of Siasia's excuse but somehow, I don't believe him. Yeah Losseni Konate - the guy who benched the legendary Alain Goumane for the breif period Phillipe Trouser was in charge of the elephants. Agreed Agbonivbare really made a lot of saves in that game at some point my friend famously claimed we were playing 9-0-1 formation. With only the goalsfather upfront but I still think he could have done better with the strike but kudos to him, he did his bit.As an aside, this convo brings to mind the great Ivorian side of the 90s. For me as a team (not based on the popularity of players) but if judged as a collective unit they were better than the ivory coast of this (or should I call it the drogba generation). They had Alain Goumane (and Losseni Konate) in goal. For the records Goumane is the only goalkeeper to win the nations cup without conceding a single goal throughout the tourney. Then there was Aka Kouame in defence, and the young guel tchiressau and the ever calm Segey Alain Maguy in midfield and of course the boisterous Mitchel Bassole. Not forgetting the giant 'child beater' (chai I don forget hin name - but one huge guy who was arrested in france back then for beating his child until his bones broke) and Donald sie olivierre. Abdoulaye Traore and Tiehi Joel played in attack while Ahmed Quattara was on the bench. It was a fantastic hard to beat side !!!! |

stagger:First, let me acknowledge your Agbonivbare took over the number 1 slot from Alloy Agu. Agu kept a clean slate in the first 3 games against minnows South Africa (then) and Benin. Rufai was only called in for the last formality match of round 1 because Nigeria had already qualified and westerhoof decided to field am experimental side of home based players and castaways. Westerhoof would later employ a goalkeeper trainer who restored Rufai to the number 1 position and relegated Agbonivbare to number 3 behind Agu. Ike Shorunmi was fourth, hence did not make the team. Two, Agbonivbare was indeed culpable in at least one of the goals against Cote d'voire in abidjan. It was Okocha's first game for the SE and Nigeria had gone ahead via a Yekini thunderbolt from an unstoppable run from the right side of the ivorian box. Nigeria missed a chance to seal the game when Siasia selfishly decided to go for glory rather than pass to Yekini, he would lose his place in the SE for that error. ( How many ppl realise he did the same thing vs Argentina at Usa 94, he should have returned the 1-2 to Yekini but tried the difficult lob direct to goal, this time around he was lucky and I admit it was a beautiful goal) Anyway. Cote d'voire came back to the game via a penalty by Ben Badi - the irrepressible Abdulaye Traore and a smashing effort by the local bomber Ahmed Quattara. Agbonivbare parried a cross/shot right back into the six yard box of the eagles ( a no no) and Quattara wasted no time in slotting in. Memories that will never fade from my mind. All in all Wilfred Agbonivbare was a great short stopper. May he Rest in Peace. |
I remember creating a thread wondering why the great 94 team members seem to be dying in their 40s. Someone insulted me but this new death makes it more worrisome..... Oliha Yekini Okafor Agbonivbare Here's the link to the previous article https://www.nairaland.com/1342478/why-members-nigerian-usa-94 |
It's an issue I have had to battle with....... I grew up in a home where everything was open....phones, books, rooms anything. My dad even encouraged us going through his books and documents back then cos he was an avid reader and had a vast collection and wanted us to know as much as possible about his past. And we the children were open about everything, nothing to hide! Fast forward to school, both Sec school and Uni, I only had friends that I could trust to a large degree, infact there was a point when two of my friends had my email address password...... Long story short, it's more of a shock to me that in relationships ppl are scared of their better half checking their phones considering my background. All my partners have always known the lock pattern of my phones and the password to my computer system (which I even use more than my fone cos of my job) I remember my gf at some point seeing some things she didn't like on my system and telling me about it but that's part of life, I'm human and don't intend to hide myself from anybody. There are some negative things I've said about myself that people actually didn't believe I did. So really am human and I embrace both my negative and positive sides. If you don't love me at my worst, then you don't deserve my best. Got nothing to hide, though I ain't perfect! |
GboyegaD:So you believe in beating people (Secondary school students) like animals ? That is why our kids act so emotionally scarred when relating with adults. If you've ever seen 'kids say the darnest thing', compare the responses of American kids when interviewed in front of cameras to the typical Nigerian child who acts as though he wishes the ground swallow him. |
Though I admit this nations cup seems boring but 'qualifying' for the confederations cup is not the goal of the nations cup. The glory is in winning the cup of Nations itself! |
talktofemi:White house ! I use to have a lot of pals in white house. Applied geophysics wasn't offered as a course when I was there. |
rokiatu:You have my respects! I wish younger women (and men) will learn from this. You are responsible for your own happiness and if you are not happy with yourself, nobody else can make you happy neither can you make someone else happy! |
talktofemi:What course did you study and where were you staying. I Stayed in ...... (Gosh, I can't even remember the name of where I stayed in school again !!!) It was a tall building close to high court area sha |
GboyegaD:Wrong ! everything should be done in moderation. You don't just beat people like animals. If any teacher beats my kids like that....... anyway my kids wont even go to such schools |
talktofemi:You know the guy in the middle ? I remember we attended the same uni too. He was like 4 yrs my junior in Uni back then. LAU |
ceo4eva:You had four years and you couldn't restore peace ! Now you are telling us very soon !!!! Please the marines are listening to you right now !!! |
Airforce1:What does this mean ? A woman that is incomplete without a Husband is incomplete with one !! if you are a christian, the bible says "and you are complete in HIM (Christ) who is the Head of all principalities and powers. Couples are meant to complement not to complete the other !!! |
Why not end the current subsidy regime instead ?? |
Looks like some demonic impartation too me na wa O! Hope he's not dabbling into unnecessary spiritism without knowing its consequences! |
Stop complaining! Hit the gym bro !!! |
RedBenson:You are drunk funny ![]() |
IBB might be right in the sense that the amount stolen in his govt might not be as much as those being stolen today and most importantly the number of people draining the national coffers in a military rule is infinitesimal compared to a democratic dispensation but our main grouse with IBB was the fact that he created the institutionalized corruption we see in governance in Nigeria today. His government was the pioneer of modern day financial degeneration as we know it in Nigeria today. You built the system IBB. And that's the more reason why I feel though GMB is not a perfect man but he is the kind of leader we need in moments like this !!! |
mike0806: Stanleyafam:You are talking about homeboyz when the man himself confessed to knowing the kind of person his babe was even before marriage! After our traditional marriage on December 2013,I had some financial challenges, and then my rent was due for renewable, she offered to assist,at first I was skeptical about it ,because I know her kind of person, knowing full well that she will use that to ridicule and abuse me in no distant time. But,then,I didn't have any alternative,so I allowed her pay d rent. Now,she's claiming ownership, saying ..."which house, the one that I have been paying the rent or another one"...But make I no blame the guy sha been somewhere close before. In a relationship where almost all my 'homeboiz' told me to run men but o boy it wasn't as easy. Infact at some point we had an issue and she told a friend that she pitied me because I am just a cool person who had no idea who he is dealing with (choi !!! I don suffer ).OP sorry fa! but it's a big lesson for all concerned |
Though I am not a fan of unnecessary or illegal checkpoints but in this case the primary fault lies on the truck driver/owner(S). If the truck was in good condition with the braking system in perfect condition and the driver driving the way he should, then the incident would probably have been averted. With or without a police checkpoint, this kind of accident could also have occurred along a regular traffic hold up. But then, RIP to the dead, sad way to begin a new year! |
donnypool:Bro!!!!! You harsh O !!!!!! |
