Akson man: SPORTS is a game that can only be won through individual and collective efforts on the field of play.
Government sure has a role to play in sports development but cannot take full responsibility for an athlete's inability to summon up the competitive spirit to succeed in sports. Jamaica,Trinidad and[b] Kenya all have poor sporting facilities at home[/b], but their athletes make use of facilities ANYWHERE in the world.
A lot of Team Nigeria athletes are also based abroad. Government release funds on time for their preparation,yet we nothing happened.

Many champion Kenyan athletes give back to the sport and set up training camps where they help develop up and coming athletes and share their talents.
In one town alone,there are five odd training camps belonging to various sports shoe manufacturers.
The training facilities have been approved by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The UK guy 'FARAH' trained alongside Kenyans, in Kenya at ITEN. He learned our endurance.
The 'Ugandan' who won marathanon for his country is a pure Kenyan from the Rift Valley.He ran for uganda though.Infact many kenyans thought he was rep. us.
The Ethiopians were not left behind.Infact some kenyans were arguing that we have opened up the facilities to foreigners only for them to beat us.
The late marathoner Samuel Wanjiru put up a Mt.Kenya Talent Development Centre which scouts for raw school talent.
Many more have pulled up resources and invested in facilities.

Several high altitude training camps in the Great Rift Valley and Central Kenya attract many international athletes, yearning to share in a little of that which builds Kenya’s runners.

Britain's Paula Radcliffe and [b]Mo Farah [/b]are some of the big names that have set camp in Iten, Kenya in preparation for major athletic meets such as the Olympics.The state of the art camp provides everything an athlete needs for training. Quality accommodation, conference facilities, a modern gymnasium, a good training ground, a library and a well managed diet are all at the disposal of the athletes.

Of course it can't beat the west but they have tried to maintain a standard so let the west come here not the other way round.

Somalis constantly fight about their tribal heritage like it is a good thing to do. I understand in the past, when all of Africa was brainwashed by their colonizers to hate each other ( a little divide and conquer). But why the hell is it still going on to this day? But the annoying thing is not that Somalis are tribal oriented, it's that Somalis lie about it ALL THE TIME. They say they are for unity then turn around and stab someone else in the back because of their tribe. It boogles my mind.

Next, Somalis move to a new country and are so stuck on preserving their ways, but they don't realize that they can never reclaim the true heritage and culture of pre-war Somalia in a new country, it's historically impossible. They are so stuck on not assimilating that they do not push their kids towards the only thing that matters in the West, an education. They are more likely to be worried about what Sahra is wearing then what she got on her SATs.

Next, what is it with Somali youth who get into a bad life style? They talk a good game about respecting their families and their tribes, but really, dealing drugs after your family has sacrificed so much to bring you here is the biggest slap in the face to your family.

Next, religion! Somalis are not as intent on practicing it as they are to prove that someone else is not practicing the right way. Worry about yourself first and the rest shall follow.

1. You are in a hurry to get somewhere and a random person stops to say 'hi your r beautiful,I love your legs' Now the only inconvinience I see is to stop say THANK YOU and proceed.I go walking feeling like am on top of the world. It's not a disadvantage rather a compliment.

2. You are talking to somebody and you can clearly see there eyes are roaming and admiring. Makes you feel like you are talking to yourself.You almost smell lust and desire burning in them yet you are talking serious stuff.
What to do? disrupt the stare by talking something nasty and spoiling the mood.It's funny cz I always end up laughing so hard since it was a deliberate move but the person may not even notice.

3. Mhhh what else? That of people thinking you are a dunderhead, happens when you open your mouth to speak.
Thing is, know what to talk about,how to talk and with who. Choose subject to suit the audience and you will realise they will listen more than admire.
Not the other way round.

Problem with all these 'beautiful and mistaken people' is that beauty gets into their heads such that whenever they walk, they feel as though the whole world is watching.They become so conscious of sorroundings and worried about themselves.

Oh people please! Everybody loves being beautiful/handsome.Everybody loves compliments too.
I just wonder how stares affect one negatively except they have a weak personality.

Nothing strange, but this is what I think happened.
You went for her when your heart was still sore.She on the other hand,left her bf,stepped into ur life and filled a gap.
After the healing,u now realised that the relationship has no substance.
You now see why people are urged to heal/get over before jumping into a new relationship?
It's cz pain tends to dull our senses and make us very clingy,touchy and vulnerable since we are emotionally unstable.

I also used to be ignorant about Nigeria till I joined Nairaland. All I thought was how overpopulated,corrupt,it was,the bombings,scams,I mean, it's all that the media shows including our very own African Journal.Wars,Poverty and Hunger!!

Many African countries are way up there in terms of development.You will only discover if u get out of ur cocoon and travel.

But instead of learning from each other we become jealous and start tearing one another down forgeting that the fellow in Europe can't even tell the difference between Uganda and Burundi or Cameroon and Nigeria.

If you want to enjoy life,live peacefully and long,pay less attention to vanity.Let them be 'added benefit/advantages'working in ur favour.
Concentrate more on building ur inner self, cz that will last a lifetime after age/accidents have taken a toll on your beauty.
People spend more than half their time and money trying to improve the outer person only to discover that you can never beat nature! Anything can happen.
But those who spend time working on the inner man/personality never lose value. Nature doesn't erode their personality.They are attractive because they give us strength to carry on when all fails.

Using Onila as an eg.She needs not to feel discouraged cz people are jealous of her beauty. Ever tried doing good to an enemy? It confuses them.
