And about the core north not wanting Obi…. It’s because no influential core northerner has aligned with him. Had Kwankwaso aligned with Obi, all that sentiment would have vanished.

You are right, I recall when northern politicians put him under pressure to sack General Ihejirika as Chief of Army Staff. they knew he was there biggest obstacle and they even told Jonathan he won't get northern votes as long as he retained him. he naively sacked him and they unleashed Boko Haram taking over territories and bombing many locations.

It was Ihejirika who kept them in Sambisa and was on the verge of doing what Israel is doing to HAMAS to them and they started accusing Ihejirika of committing genocide and taking revenge for Biafra against the North and Buhari declared that an attack against Boko Haram is attack against the North.
