Yes indeed sir.

PoliticsRe: Why Are We Using The Dollar System? by plaetton: 9:56pm On Jul 26, 2023
LexNuel:
I have always asked myself this question. Why are we using the dollar system. Why are we exchanging goods & services using the dollar as a reference point?...how did the world get to this point.

I mean first, it was the barter system; which was in its own right effective. But Education said there was no way to quantify what is equivalent to what.. how many tubers of yam should be equivalent to one bowl of rice etc.

Then we went to cowries... Education said the shells were not uniform enough..

We tried Gold.. ah!! Its too scarce...trade deficit issues, it can being down the economy.. blah blah blah.. Government cannot control it...which Government actually? 😏😏

And now it's dollar.. and they say it's efficient because that is the major advantage the US has over other countries.

Kenyan President, Ruto, once asked "why we are trading with US dollar in africa"..Why?.. why give the dollar more power...

The US has its hook in our throat with the dollar. They say prices are controlled naturally but we both know that's not true...

And I'm just here thinking, will we ever get out of this dollar system? The same way we were convinced to leave cowries and gold.. even though we had it in abundance compared to the west.

Now the West is in control...

Where do we go from here?
If you look at history, the nation with the most powerful Naval power tend to be the most dominant power.
In the modern era, aside from the US being the most dominant military power, more importantly , the US has the most diversified and versatile economy in the world. The diversity and versatility creates the kind of economic stability that no other nation in the world can rival.
The the diversity and dynamism of the US economy and financial system absorbes all the shocks and unpredictability of all other economies.
Smart money looks for safety above every other consideration.
Therefore, the US dollar is always , and would always remain the reserve currency, the currency of last resort in any period of the global economic cycle .

Pls, there is a growing menace of friends poisoning their friends at beer parlours, lounge or bars.

Watch out especially now that begging has increase among peers, friends and family members and close allies.

Just this morning my class mate was pronounced dead, as he was poisoned and left to die.

I saw another video of recent which was prior to this news, where a guy was poisoned and he died in an inhumane manner...vomiting blood and all sort before a doctor pronounced him dead.

Pls, watch and drink smart before the unthinkable happens.

People are just not happy seeing u do well.
Don't get it twisted as most people think it should be them and not u that is successful.

Be wise.
We tend to be too quick to point accusing fingers before aacertaining the true cause of death.
Nigerians , especially the younger folks, ingest excess amounts of power drinks that contain excess amounts of caffeine, as well as all manners of concoctions for sexual enhancement or just to get high.
I think we should be careful im pointing accusing fingers at friends before we know the true cause of death as pronounced by a competent professional.

FG should begin recalling most of the currency in circulation printed from thin air by Emefile through this Forex window.

This how the FG can utilize the Forex to remove excess liquidity from circulation and drive down inflation.

The only people betting against the naira are Buhari looters who , without Emefile's protection, are now moving their loot through the Forex window .

No genuine business will bid so high for Forex in such a challenging economy. What do they want to import that they are desperate to bid so high for Forex?

In a few months, if the FG compels the CBN to withdraw all excess liquidity from funds raised through the FX open window bidding, the naira will regain to about 350-400 to a dollar.
Are you serious or are you one of those government e-wariors paid N30k a month to write nonsense?
Forex users will pay whatever the market offers . The Naira has very little economic backbone to rest upon. The main reason your government decided to let it float is to allow it to find its bottom, its true equilibrium value. I speculate that bottom to be N1500 in short term.
On a longer term, the stability of government economic policies would determine when it sinks further or regains some strength to the N1100 - N1200 levels.

stick to the issue at hand.... the OP stated the below falsehood:

and therefore my answer is to educate the OP as to where the Africans stood in his obviously wrong statement. the ships that he attributed to Europeans were created by AFRICANS, the "knowledge" that he was quick to talk about was common in Africa way before Europeans knew how to read/count etc....same with Medicine, architecture/steel making. so lets not claim ARRANT NONSENSE on NL and stick with facts. African were more knowledgeable than Europeans, Europeans LEARNED FROM AFRICANS/ASIANS/MIDDLE EASTERN and not the way around.
Pure Nonsense about Africans building ships.
What ships?
Which continents did they sail to and colonize ?
I laugh at this ' feel good ' nonsense that we tell ourselves that we were more knowledgeable than the Europeans.
What then happened to the knowledge ?
What are the enduring legacies of such supposed knowledge?

I am a proud African. But I am also aware of the limitations of African culture and civilization.

Trying to embellish African culture and civilization just to justify our shameful failures in this current era is counterproductive.
We must tell ourselves the bitter truths and do a self audit about we are unable to govern ourselves and build a functional modern society for Africans.
Let's stop deceiving ourselves.

MrBrownJay1:
bro educate yourself so i dont have to do it for you.... the western media is telling lies and you believe that garbage withut questioning it:
- the WHEEL was invented by the people in IRAQ (Sumerians), not Europeans.
- there was Medicine in Africa/middle east way before Hippocrates supposedly invented medicine
- the 1st numeric system was created in Africa, way before the west even knew how to count
- the 1st people who invented writing were AFRICANS... aka the proto-Saharan writing
- the 1st human species that use language as a form of communication were AFRICANS (100k years ago)
- AFRICANS were producing steel (Tanzania) way before the so called western industrial revolution
- AFRICANS knew about architecture way before the west... just have a look at The Pyramids of Giza, the Step Pyramid, the city of Great ZImbabwe, the Nubian Pyramids to understand how advanced Africans were in architecture, way before the west.
- AfFRICANS created the calendar system...
- the funniest part in your above confusion is that you even believe that the west created ships, while it is well known that the 1st ship builders were Africans Egyptians, and the earliest drawing of ships were found in Egypt. just because we didnt want to invade OTHER COUNTRIES to call it our own, doesnt mean we were not the creator of the 1st ships. sadly we used it to fish..not to invade/endoctrinate/decimate entire nations (like the west).

BTW the Chinese discovered gun powder, and sadly the western world decided to use it to inavde/kill and have genocide all over the world ever since.... because only people with evil intent would try to conquer the world and steal other people lands/natural ressources.

so yes, to you, intelligence is solely western, but if you look DEEP DOWN, you will see that the origin of it all comes from Africa/middle east. whether you want to admit it or not!
Very dumb answers that not address the issue the OP raised.
Infact, such dumb answers help to buttress the point of intellectual inferiority.
Whoever supposedly invented what 3000yrs ago is not really relevant.
The question here is why have Africans have shown a cleae lack of intellectual ability to manage their resources, and as well as cope with the modern era ?

Having said that, unfortunately, teaching the true history of Nigeria is a such a taboo in our schools and in national conversations, and that's why people talk so much trash that are not based on any measurable or historical facts.

The sad facts about Nigeria is that the major and minor tribes of Nigeria have been on a competitive derby since day one of amalgamation. Nigerians and the leaders they produce are very funny, in a very pathetic way.

Everyone talks about the problems of leadership in Nigeria, and yet , the same patterns of behavior from the same recycled leaders continue, unabated and unabashed. Every little snipet of information that comes out of Nigeria not only make me thoroughly ashamed, but very sad and very pessimistic about the future and continued existence of this historical accident.

Here, we have a man, a leader , a former governor of an important state, elected twice under the umbrella and Goodwill of the PDP, boasting loudly and proudly of how he betrayed the PDP, the same party that twice gave him govership tickets and votes.

Where are these kind of people molded from ?

Tomorrow, the very same voters will either vote for this fool or have him appointed to an even greater office.

How can the common Nigerian ever put their hopes on these gangs of Janus-faced parasites?

I agree with your opinion to some extent. But you didn't consider the role of Western media in programming Africans to be this way.

Just like people born and programmed into a religion I won't mention, are willing to kill others who don't believe in their God, same way Africans have been programmed into these things you mentioned.

You might ask where these programming came from? Beginning from our childhood educational system, we are taught how the Colonizers stopped killing of twins(not true), discovered our rivers(not true), and a whole lot of other lies meant to white-wash the Europeans as Angels to us Africans.
The media is controlled by the West, meaning everything you read, see or hear are most likely offshoots of these powerful media, portraying Europeans as good people while portraying Africans as evil uncivilized humans. This won't be a problem assuming the masses were wise. But unfortunately, majority of humans lack the capacity of self-reflection. They live all their lives trying to fit into society and be cool even if it comes at their own detriment. The Colonizers know this that is why do everything to maintain the narratives through Hollywood, BBC, CNN and all the other media owned by the Rothchild families.
.
Well, if the West controls this and controls that, that automatically implies that there must be smarter( have a better grasp of reality) than we are.
Also, Africans are not the only people who were colonized and influenced by Europeans. These other races have picked themselves up, dusted their pants, and moved ahead in the March of civilization. We are the left-behind people , perennially wailing and not doing much to move ahead.

This Uganda a-hole despot, who has been in power for 37yrs has obviously realized that he has nothing, absolutely nothing to offer his country, except the revert to this old , stale song of " The west did this and the west did that to Africa ".

In the 37yrs that this fool has been in power, what has he done to create a good standard of living for the people of Uganda ?
The answer is Zero.

But he has done much more harm to Uganda than any European ever did. Not surprising at all.
Africans are the worst enemy of Africa.

Therefore, the more these despots continue this perennial wailing , and the more we fellow Africans continue to cheer them on, the more we telegraph to the rest of the world, and even more pathetically, to our subconscious minds, that we lack the creative potential to create a better world for our nations.

Fools never cease to complain and blame others for their failures.

The Naira will only stabilize when it finds its equilibrium value. Right now , we can only speculate as to what that value will be, but it would definitely be much lower than it is right now. My own bet is between N1200 to N1500 range. When it reaches that point in the short term, then success of economic stabilization policies of the government would determine whether the Naira strengthens to N1100 to N1250 or further free falls to the bottom.

Africans are stuupid set of people.

They shy away from the more courageous and challenging battles of providing good lasting governance for their people and future generations, and instead, choose the easy jobs. Hating and intolerance are much much easier than articulating a vision for the longterm prosperity of their people.

I find it particularly painful and ironic that Africans have spent centuries fighting dehumanizing racism and bigotry all over the world. With that battle still raging on , we are in the global spotlight for the most hateful and intolerant laws against another set of human beings, whose only crime is being different.

Moreover, the less the masses see money, the more money is accrued by the rich and political class for power consolidation.
