I am not aware of the existence of Labour Party outside of Nigeria.

The experience is from the last townhall meeting we organized for Peter just about 2 wks ago, in a much smaller setting.
Again, it is fund raising call for donations.
Logistically, it also makes sense. These townhall events are held in rented hotel halls that have a strict capacity limit.
If the hall has a capacity limit of 300 people, and 10,000 people are eager to come, other a lottery, the best thing to do is to allow 300 paid donors to event.

The hall itself cost nothing less than $25,000. Security alone would cost anything in the neighborhood of $10,000 , plus other logistics expenses. Refreshments are also another set of expenses.
