LordAdam16:
What will you do when they clearly rig the elections like they did in 2015 and 2019?

The Presidency and some powerful Northern elements are the only people standing in the way of the core ACN bloc in APC.

When they surmount that obstacle, it will be a done deal and you will go back to complaining on social media. That's the worst you will do.

-Lord
Well, it's obvious that you and I are not in the same league.
A rational person can only attempt to predict the outcome of a FREE and FAIR elections using current sampling data.
But living as we are in an irrational Dystopian Paradise, you and your type make your own predictions based on Election RIGGING structures and mechanisms.

You might be right in your RIGGING-factor predictions, but the point remains that you and I are not using the same metrics.

One has to be mentally disturbed to project a BAT victory when it is clear the man has zero appeal to the average non Yoruba voter. I don't understand you pseudo-'enlightened' creeps.

Who would vote for someone like this really? At least Buhari had his unassailable 'integrity' selling point that guaranteed him votes from the entire North to the South West. What does BAT have that would give him votes outside the South West? Is it his drug dealing reputation, extreme corruption, dubious personality and background, obvious signs of age and drug induced dementia and mental degradation, or what exactly? Or you're merely expecting his 'structures' to buy votes, coerce votes or manipulate votes? If this is the expectation, shouldn't you lot be ashamed of yourselves and hide your faces in shame rather than insult our sensibilities with stupid forecasts?

How do you win an election when you are not popular on the strength of your own personality with the average voter across geopolitical divides?

Even the best of you in spite of your intellectual pretentions haven't been able to explain how it would be possible for a discredited and obnoxious entity like BAT to inspire the votes of the average non Yoruba Nigerian. Instead you're relying on magic from compromised governors. Just makes no sense. That's why I'm disappointed that old folks like Naptu or Jarus can't hide their jaundiced faces rather than come out in the open to display weakly disguised Yoruba awalokan motivated nonsense.

Shame on you all.
Don't mind them.
They say they ignored polling , which is the standard way of capturing data about voter sentiments. And they say that they are relying on the history of previous voting behavior. Basically, they are proud to be stuck in the past. They are acting like they are deaf and blind to the very loud clamor all over Nigeria for a different way of governance. 1
They are actually telling us that in 2023, 2015 and 2019 will repeat itself, simply because APC is the ruling party.
Nigerians will remind them that soooo much has changed since 2015, sooo much.

It's not possible for a normal man not to be attracted to other women other than his primary mate.
Over time, a woman, no matter how good or beautiful, will gradually lose her attraction. The sex lives of couples inevitably slope downwards. The man either gives up on sex completely ( though very unlikely) or he gets side chicks to rekindle his sexual fire.

He's an irresponsible individual, and should have no business being a husband or a father.

What is he going to teach his children (especially his sons)?

Serves the gentleman right.
Laughing out loud.
The woman will surely regret her actions.
The man has obviously been granted a mining license.
He should mine it for every ounce of hedonistic pleasure he can get.
As long endeavors to take care of his children and maintain close relationship with them, the woman would remain the loser.
I hate to say this , but the sad truth is that it is unrealistic to expect a man, any man to be sexually tethered to one woman for any extended length of time.
Some men can do much better than others in terms of sexual fidelity, but ultimately with time, all men fail that test.
It's a hard truth, but it is what it is.

PoliticsRe: Omo-Ikirodah: PDP/LP Should Be Worried With Tinubu's Rally In Abia by plaetton: 8:17am On Jan 27, 2023
oikirodah:
Why PDP/ LP Needs To Be Worried With Tinubu's Successful Rally In Abia State Matters Arising

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was in Abia State three days ago as part of his nationwide tour to educate Nigerians on the need of electing him as their country's next president. Because it was so massive and intimidating, they didn't want to talk about it, so they pretended that it never happened.

In light of the fact that Abia State is a PDP-controlled state, as well as the fact that it is viewed as a centre for the Obidient movement and a member of the South East States, they declined to trend the rally because they were disappointed with the overwhelming support Tinubu received from the state's residents.

Due to the size of the crowd, I bet that Tinubu would smile for a very long time.To the chagrin of the opposing parties, Tinubu would undoubtedly get more votes in the South East than the required 25%, as you can see.

With so many vested interests fighting against themselves to the detriment of the oppositional parties, the South East is sitting on a ticking time bomb. They have been successfully drawn into an opposition within an opposition, making it a four-tier of oppositional forces fighting the APC in the region.

Prior to this year's election, the PDP ruled the South East as a lone, unstoppable force, but the least-populated INEC zone is currently at war with the following potent groups within themselves.

Unknown Gunmen, IPOB,PDP and LP.

Since IPOB claims to have no affiliation with the Unknown Gunmen, it is safe to refer to them as distinct entities from IPOB. As a result, we arrived at the four forces that will be competing against one another in the upcoming presidential elections in the South East.

Now that IPOB, every other political party, and the Unknown Gunmen are all trying to make a point, there is a desperate effort on the part of everyone involved.

Before I proceed, let me clarify unambiguously that numbers exist in all aspects of life; the only difference is that some have more than others.

For example, the level of traffic at a police divisional headquarters may lead you to believe that the world is occupied entirely by criminals and supercops.

If you believe that everyone feels the same way you do about Nigeria and that a revolution is imminent, you may find it amusing that even a greater number do not share close to your beliefs.

This is what we mean when we talk about structure, for instance, the APC, the party in charge of the Federal Government, has thousands of appointees from the South East who are either board members, federal commissioners, ministers, or other aides.

Then there's the PDP, the region's dominant ruling party, which has a similar structure and even more across the states.

Therefore, by default, a number of families are prepared to defend their interest in the APC, whereas a larger population of residents is prepared to support their interest in the PDP for the same reasons at the state level, which offers far more than you can imagine in comparison to appointments to the federal government.

A state with 5000 SA, for instance, is guaranteed to receive at least three to five additional votes from his immediate family because of this position, regardless of how little or large.

Therefore, going forward, the PDP in the South East should be more worried than the APC because their primary voters are now split between the LP, as represented by Peter Obi, the ESN/IPOB, and Unknown Gunmen.

Tinubu, as a Southerner, would have default sympathetic votes from the South East, especially from those who don't want their votes to be wasted and don't want power to return to the north. Tinubu is their safe bet.

No matter how you look at it, the other political parties in the South East are all branches of the same tree. You can't offer what you don't have. Obi was still a member of PDP as recently as eight months ago. IPOB and Unknown Gunmen are opposed to elections in Nigeria and have forced many of its members to destroy their voter registration cards in the past.

So, in a scenario where Ebonyi State is APC, Imo State is APC, Abia State is a member of the G5 PDP gang that has sworn to work against Atiku, we are left with Anambra and Enugu.

Even Anambra is uncertain because of Charles Soludo, the state governor, who has fiercely opposed Peter Obi. Soludo naked Peter Obi at the market square and was the first to suggest that Peter Obi is only running for his own interests.

Is it even better in Enugu? Former Governor Nnamani, a PDP senatorial candidate, is campaigning for Tinubu.

To make matters worse, the Obidient followers are so arrogant, acerbic, and ill-mannered that they believe only fools would vote for the APC. They keep reporting that APC is hiring individuals for their campaigns, and one wonders whether these are not their own people.

The whole South East vote, which is equal to or less than Kano and Lagos combined, is now divided into four sections, as opposed to the traditional pattern of voting in the South East.

So let us wait and see how the South East will get out of this mess that they have created for themselves. It is sad that as the election approaches, unknown gunmen will strike with more force, making it even more difficult for these people to gather how much more come home to vote.

This is pure nonsense.
During visits of presidential candidates, the party machinery usually go into overdrive to mobilize and financially sponsor their supporters and crowds from all LGAs to be present at the venue. Crowd renting is where the a bulk of campaign funds go to. Even if all the people at the venue represent genuine APC presidential voters from all LGAs in Abia, they would still represent less than 1% of the PVC holders in Abia State.

I'd be a little wary of supporting all minorities simply on the grounds that they have been discriminated against. That could, as a bare principle, lead to problems. There are all sorts of minorities in this world, and while a religious or racial minority may be a legitimate one to be defended, there are also ideological minorities of varied kinds which do not quite fall into the same definition and it would be a grave error to say that once they are minorities, and are discriminated against, then one should fight for their rights. Such an unnuanced principle could lead one to defend even the most extremist sects.

PS: I hope you understand what I have just written because I myself support LGBTQ rights - save in the matter of marriage for the purpose of raising children as a family. And I could not care for the silly gammut of non-binary pronouns being forced down everyone's throat these days. And oh yes, I do not believe its right to allow a Trans woman to compete in sports for women. I have serious issues with the concept that one can just "self-identify" as something and then claim the social rights attendant thereto. I cant accept that children are also encouraged to do this ere they even understand their own bodies. A few of my issues, otherwise, sure, human rights for all.
Good sire,

I agree with you in totality.

By minority, I surely do not mean fringe ideological or sectarian minorities, who are minorities by dint of their individual choices. I emphasis is on minorities, who by nature of their birth, are not accepted by society and face prejudice and discrimination for just being the way they were born. The keyword here is Human Rights.
As for all your other points, I feel the same way.

Gay is not an African thing...If we don't stand against it now, they will force our kids to embrace it.
Africans are foolish.

First of all, you don't think that every single human being, irrespective of sexual orientation, deserves the same rights ?
That's a shame.

Secondly, this nonsense that homosexuality is not African an thing is soooo dumb, it is embarrassing to even address it. Check around you, from your family to your extended family, to your friends in school, colleagues at work, you will spot gay men or women all around you. They are actually not very difficult to spot out. But because it's a taboo, most of them live their entire lives in secret.

And thirdly and most importantly, it was not too long ago in the last century that many whites expressed the very same outrage at the idea of granting rights to black people in America, ironically by the same intolerant conservative evangelicals. As the race that have faced the most discrimination and prejudices, we black people, especially Africans, should be the most sympathetic and empathetic to those people, any peoples, that still face discrimination and prejudice in this unfair world.

We should rightly be at the forefront of human rights crusades for any and all minority peoples facing discrimination of any sort.

That we have such a very short memory of what we have been through is a great shame.

Christianity EtcRe: Is The 'Prosperity' Gospel A Scam? by plaetton: 3:53pm On Nov 27, 2022
jesusjnr2020:
Is The 'Prosperity' Gospel A Scam?

Some of the richest, most respected and most followed church leaders in the world, who have been preaching the so-called 'prosperity' gospel passionately and resolutely for decades have come out in recent times to denounce the gospel as a scam.

First it was Benny Hinn who openly came out to denounce the gospel and apologized for misleading many with it for such a long time. He said he was misled himself by some preachers of the gospel, but he has come to realize that it's a gospel which grieves the Holy Spirit because it's not of God but of the devil.

He gave an instances instances of people coming to him and telling him that it didn't work for them as he had said and he'd be feeling guilty because he was the one that sold that scam to them.
He said he didn't care what anyone made of his repentance and if they stopped inviting him to preach in their churches as a result because he was only concerned about doing what's right in God's sight.

Now it is Creflo Dollar who came out earlier this year to denounce the same doctrine and asked anyone with his tapes he preached on that doctrine to thrash it because it was not of God.

His was even more shocking because his preaching of the 'prosperity gospel' was much more aggressive and deeply rooted than that of Benny Hinn, so for such a man who was so sure of himself about that doctrine that he would preach it for several decades unashamedly, and even go to the extent of deriding and mocking those who preached against such a doctrine, to now damn the consequences ans say he was wrong all along was not something many saw coming.

Now it's not just Benny Hinn and Creflo Dollar that have thrashed the gospel of 'properity', because there are several others who have also come out to denounce it over the years but the two of them appear to be the pick of the bunch.

So the question is, are they right that the prosperity gospel is a scam?

Before you answer the question, please first bear in mind that these two are arguably the richest church leaders with the highest following in the world, men who have inspired more Christians worldwide than most, so they're not just local champions, so that the lame excuse of being poor and having a poverty mentality so not qualified to speak on this subject is not applicable, because these men have tried and tasted of it for decades, but they came to the conclusion that the 'prosperity' gospel was a scam.

So do you think they're right?

God bless.
It is a scam
