Bonsoir les canadiens !
Good evening Canadians!

My name is etrange

Please, I need advice on booking Airbnb in Toronto/GTA. Are there prefered locations? I can see the prices differ extensively and I'm naturally drawn to the cheapest ones (lol) but I don't want to make mistakes. What price range should I be looking at for a decent apartment? Can/should I pay from here before landing?

NB: I'm a single guy.

Warm Regards!

Hello,

Please can you share your contact so I can get the FRSC letter. I don't mind sending you a private message if you prefer.

Kemi913:
Hello,

Could anyone please help with who FRSC should address the letter to for Toronto, Ontario?

Thank you.

Hello good people

I would be landing with my wife in Calgary by mid-March. I'd like to join any WhatsApp group of people in Calgary where we can get help and guide with settling down. Please PM me if any is available/open that I can join.

Also, while Airbnb remains an option, please I don't mind exploring shared accommodation that we can settle for, right before landing in mid--March. Any one, with helpful information, please reach out to me.

Many thanks

use the ican to do acca or cima
if you are going to use your ICAN for conversion to acca and by extension CPA, you must have sat for the exam and passed BEFORE YOU LAND into Canada, else the Mou between acca and CPA won't be applicable to you

I don't think it's absolutely useless though. A landed senior once told me one could actually use ICAN to claim CPA exemption in order to write only the final stage. He even mention one particular grant one could take sef. I'm not sure how easy that is though

PS: I'm in the ICAN boat too smiley

not possible, however there is a Mou btw acca and CPA, as long as you have your pass mark in acca before landing

Thank you. But what if I still have some papers to write upon landing?

You are not mandated to pass before landing, it's to be registered before leaving your home country

hi, just wanted to know how far with you CPHR, did you eventually start the process? Can I pm you?

Adunnee:
Good day everyone. I have some questions for the seniors who have landed in Canada.

1. What time do schools open and close? I have 2 toddlers- 5&4. Can I keep them in school from morning till evening?

2. I'm an HR professional with a certification with HRCI. How do I blend? Are there courses I would need to take before getting a job? Is it possible I get a managerial level role in HR or do I need to start from entry level?

3. My husband is an Accountant and he intends to complete his ACCA programme before we leave Nigeria. Can he easily convert to CPA? Does he stand a chance to get a good job?

Thank you. God bless you

Hello everyone. Please I have a question.

I know in Nigeria, there is usually an age restriction of 24-26 years, for entry level position.

Is there age discrimination in Canada for a 30 year old who has done her PhD and no work experience?

Thanks in advance.

There is no age limit or discrimination in any province of Canada. As long as you're qualified for the role you're applying for, you stand a chance.

What most of them did, is to do short landing and keep their families in canada. Infact, I know of people quiting their job in Canada to take up IOC's job in Naija.

I know a few Total managers wey their family dey Canada.Lol .Another of my former boss in Total was asking me how far on the matter. Lol Why would dey leave their high paying job to come and start again in Canada..nah.

It's common sense

$135k when you are above 40 years
It's BETTER you remain in our beloved Shithole.

But send your kids over there

But if you are like us that are still relatively young and unmarried, and haven't gone that far career wise
Running away from Naija is a sure bet

Hello Seniors in the house. Please to announce I will be joining you all soon as PPR has been given.
Please I have a question, is it better to get a rented apartment with all utilities included or without utilities so I can pay directly for it? Utilities as I have seen online such as hydro, water, heater and parking for 2.
Please advice. Thank you.
