dustydee:#UnpopularOpinion: I have suffered much more discrimination with respect to my age, tribe, race and religion in Nigeria by Nigerians than I have experienced in the UK. |

Lexusgs430:But OP did not mention what the deception was, did they? |
omopapa:Are you for real? ALL immigrants who meet the very high standards of a Tier-2 visa deserve the exemption. An NHS immigrant is as useful as a Lecturer immigrant. |
Inkredible:It may dip. You may get 20,000 naira for £10 soon. But guess what? 20,000 naira will only buy 2 gala and 1 La casera for you. |
profemebee:If you want sub-20 minutes delivery at Shit rates, Azimo is it. If you want up to 3-4 hours (sometimes less) at amazing rates, ACE is it. I use both interchangeably depending on the urgency. I loved Small World too, sometimes they have some unbelievable, but true rates. However, these days, they are same with ACE. Choice is yours. |
They have Dominic We had(have) Abba Kyari |
Kenny242:Big Question is: What Biochemistry do you know that a British or EU Biochemistry graduate doesn’t know? In other words, what stands you out as exceptional? |
Peaches101:The taste of the pudding is in the eating. Good thing, UK most admissions application are free. Apply to your schools of choice, and take it from there. |
Cambridge University has become the first UK institution to announce it is moving all lectures online until summer 2021. https://www.lbcnews.co.uk/uk-news/cambridge-university-announced-move-to-hold-all-le/ The university said "given that it is likely that social distancing will continue to be required, the University has decided there will be no face-to-face lectures during the next academic year." Tutors have been told that lectures will be held virtually, including live-streams. However, the institution still plans to hold seminars, work shops and small group-based learning in person with "strict social distancing" in force. A Cambridge spokesman told LBC News: “The University is constantly adapting to changing advice as it emerges during this pandemic. Given that it is likely that social distancing will continue to be required, the University has decided there will be no face-to-face lectures during the next academic year. "Lectures will continue to be made available online and it may be possible to host smaller teaching groups in person, as long as this conforms to social distancing requirements. "This decision has been taken now to facilitate planning, but as ever, will be reviewed should there be changes to official advice on coronavirus.” Alice Benton, the university's head of education services, told student news paper Varsity plans are currently being formulated to ensure the virtual lectures "will be of the best possible quality". Cambridge is the first to take such a radical step, but the University of Manchester announced last week that it was conducting all lectures online during the autumn term. The Russell Group institution took the move amid “real uncertainty” over when social distancing will end and said the lecture theatre "does not easily support spatial separation", but added it hopes to run some face-to-face learning for small groups. It comes after the regulator told universities to inform applicants whether or not they could expect face-to-face teaching next year in advance of them accepting offers. The Office for Students said bosses must give students “absolute clarity” and not offer false hopes of a “campus experience”. Most campuses have been shut since April with classes and exams moved online. There is growing uncertainty across the sector over how they will operate next year, with institutions already facing huge financial losses from an expected fall in overseas students studying in the UK this autumn. It is likely to prompt questions over tuition fees, with home students paying £9,250 a year and international students paying up to three times that. Michelle Donelan, the universities minister, has said institutions can charge the full fee as long as online learning is “quality”. But some students have expressed concerns they won't be getting their money's worth if all the teaching is done online. Alex Jones, a second year Cambridge natural sciences student, told LBC News: "Being in a contact-heavy course, there isn't really a substitute for teaching that we get in the lab. "Already this term we've had half the number of contact hours we were originally scheduled to have, and 10 weeks of fieldwork we were due to have were cancelled. "If the same thing happens next year it's hard to see how it's worth £9250 when we'll be getting a lot less teaching." Other British universities, which have been closely watching Government guidance while hesitant to be the first to act, could now follow suit. |
toyclicks:Very inspiring story. The end is great!!!. I wish it was as easy as: I moved to the UK and started life as a driver for Dyson. Or as an Uber Driver. That 'I moved and started life' is the koko of the matter. |
Students who have applied to study at universities this autumn must be told whether they will be taught online before they accept offers, the watchdog has said. The Office for Students insisted that institutions give applicants “absolute clarity” over how their degrees will be delivered and warned bosses not to give false hopes of a “campus experience” this September. Campuses have been shut since March and many students have been taught online since, with most not expected to reopen until September at the earliest. Sixth formers, whose exams have been cancelled this summer, are already facing uncertainty over student halls contracts and a scramble for places amid a cap on university admissions this year. The OfS wants A-level pupils to be told what to expect before the June deadline for accepting offers and “certainly before” the clearing window in August following results day, and to be released from offers if universities change their plans. Nicola Dandridge, OfS chief executive, told MPs on Monday: “What we’re requiring is that universities are as clear as they can be to students so that when they accept an offer from universities, they know what they’re getting.” She suggested “blended learning” could be introduced that combines face-to-face teaching with online classes and cautioned against “bunging lectures online”. The University of Manchester became the first UK institution last week to announce all lectures in the autumn term will be delivered digitally. Michelle Donelan, the universities minister, has said institutions can charge the full £9,250 tuition fees as long as online classes are of “quality”. https://www.lbcnews.co.uk/uk-news/uni-applicants-campus-experience-online/ |
Who else needs confirmation that we have overcome CoViD-19 peak in the UK? @Davechapelle is back on this thread. @Inkredible is back after a long hiatus. @ Lexusgs430 is not only back, he is cracking us up. Only a matter of time, @sgtponzihater will be back. Hallelujah!! |
Lexusgs430:Talking about Grammar Schools. Seriously. What steps do I need to take if I want my child to eventually attend a Grammar School? |
Kris28:You mixed up so many variables in one question. Everything is relative. What is your idea of ‘expensive’? Accomodation May be cheaper in Portsmouth than on London. ‘Not too safe’ is very very subjective. There are areas in Maiduguri that are safer than some areas in Lagos. |
Pearlyfaze:If you have up to 6 months validity on your passport, you are good to go. The visa vignette on a passport is for only 30 days. You are good to go |
I just thought if Sgtponzihater. |
STENON:That Sounds funny to you. When that happens, and you wake up. 1,000 naira would be the price of 5 packs of pure water. 100 naira then will buy you 1 gala, and to wash down with La Casera, you will need an extra 1,200 naira. La casera + Gala = 2,200. I will not talk about how much your kid sister will need (in naira) to apply for a visitor visa to go see you in Scotland. |
1blessing:Madam. Welcome. I remember you from the General Enquiries thread. and your extraordinary tenacity of appealing a decision, and re-appealing the appeal outcome until they granted you the visa. I hope the Corona virus did not spoil your travel plans. |
fatima04:They only needed my ID verification. Passport data page. And was done Super cool exchange rates. |
Yampotatocarrot:I will try my BEST not to write what my mind is saying. You studied PLANT SCIENCE (aka BOTANY) undergrad. The UK university offered you MEDICAL BIOSCIENCE. (MSC). On your own ohhh... you decided to call it APPLIED BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE. You (on your own) decided to rename a course given to you (to suit your purpose). Ah ahhhh brossss. And you want to work in HAEMATOLOGY with the NHS. Ahhhhh brossssss..... You mentioned in your post that the course you were given is called Applied Biomedical science in several Universities, right? Good. Apply to the several universities, and get admission in one where the course is accredited. Then go to that one. I know you have convinced Yourself that MEDICAL BIOSCIENCE is the same as APPLIED BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE. Please, help yourself, and erase that conviction. They are not the same. The school that offered you the admission are not Dundee United. They know why they called it that way. |
Biko where is that moniker called HiddenID? Please what brand of beer do you like? Thank you for letting us know about ACE. claremont:Hello Claremont: Can I apply to go to the UK on a 2 year tier 4 student visa. Then during my stay, apply to join the army? |
evil1:Dear Evil1 This is the thread you need. https://www.nairaland.com/2575449/uk-student-visa-tier-4 |
Bourne007:Bourne007: What exactly is your argument sef? You seem to be all over the place, and not addressing the point. Are you saying a tier-4 student can legally do the type of job described by Tobexin? If that’s what you are saying, you are wrong sir. That kind of job is Self-Employment, and it flouts the tier-4 visa rules. |
justwise:The short of it is: What Tobexin wants to do is SELF-EMPLOYMENT. A tier-4 student is NOT allowed to be self-employed. It’s against the rules. |
Lexusgs430:Loo roll? Who cares about loo rolls? I pick up tens of copies of FREE Evening Standard and Metro or City AM on the underground stations. Cleans my ny*sh beautifully after visiting the toilet. |
Another one bites the dust. These e-diots keep giving Nigeria a bad name. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-birmingham-51767053

Ameey:Don’t know a lot about Portsmouth being “good place” or “bad place” But I think, I think. Portsmouth is better than the place where you are currently. |
STENON:Employment letter & Tuer-4 student status? |
missnigeria: RalphJean:I believe the answer to a previous post could apply to you too |
sudo1986:1. It doesn’t matter the money in your account. 2. Having nieces and nephews + Uncle who are Brits doesn’t add anything, really. 3. Oh God bless their souls... your cuties. How to start preparation. A) Look up www.indeed.com www.reed.co.uk www.totaljibs.com www.cv-library.co.uk Etc B). Search through the various job roles of interest to you. C). Carefully look at the requirements. Pay very careful attention to experience and desired skills. D). Check How many of the boxes you can tick E). Get the job! F). The employer would possibly sponsor your tier-2 (work) visa. Cheers |
