Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour for Governor.

If we fail to qualify for the FIBA Men's Basketball World Cup this year, the blame should be on the NBBF. Look at the quality of players that suited up for Nigeria during the qualifiers for the 2019 World Cup and the players on the roster now. We had the best of the best then playing for D'tigers- Stan Okoye, Aminu brothers, Obi Emegano, Tosin Mehinti, Jordan Nwora, Diogu etc. So, we need to go back to that era. Let the NBBF get a good coach from the lower leagues of Basketball in the USA or from European basketball leagues- Someone who is hungry for success. Cheers.

....the problem with Coach Mike Brown is that he is used to basketball played a certain way, international basketball is quite different, also he feels the best protype for basketaball is that of golden state warrior, the issues is only a few teams in the world have the luxery of players that shoot the lights out, also he is busy with the NBA, they should let him be and invest in the likes Coach Ogoh.

We can invest in our local coaches just like you have said. Our local coaches only need some exposure and good pay. our local players are not that bad. I still believe Mike Brown should be released to face his work with Sacramento Kings in the NBA. We can then look for a Coach that is good but who is hungry for the lime lights. There are many of such Coaches in Europe and lower basketball leagues in the USA.

First, he only handled the first window of the first round part of the qualifiers if I remember correctly and that's the one we were first/second on the Table. The second round of qualifiers weren't handled by him, but a favour Dtigers player who is now a coach (can't remember his name).

Also, the deduction of points due to Mali's absence affected the gains we made during the first round .

Yes, Julius Nwosu handled the second round of qualifiers. We lost only one game and won the rest. Nwosu was a former D'tigers player who played for Nigeria in the 1998 World Cup. He played for Spurs in the NBA. Nwosu's Squad was built around Diogu and some pre-2020 D'tigers players and a few new guys. Mike Brown is good, but I believe Coach Alex Nwora built a strong D'tigers team during the qualifiers for the 2019 FIBA Men's Basketball World Cup. We need a good coach from NBA D or G- League who knows his onions. Someone like the former D'tigress Coach, Otis Hughley, who comes from the Collegiate System but who has big dreams and ambition. Coach Brown should face his work in the NBA.

Good effort by the local players . I think we should do away with Mike Brown. He has underperformed and should be sacked. We don't need an NBA coach to do well in basketball as a nation. I will be very happy if we qualify for the world Cup.
