In as much as we celebrate Tyler Perry on his success, let's not equate it to Nigerian scenario where we have millions of hardworking, smart thinking, creative youths wasting their lives jobless, no hope for job, no capital to startup a business, no mentor to help them, no basic amenities to keep them going and hoping, just helpless and dejected and hoping on luck and destiny to remember them...while some end up committing crime out of no other option.

Only lazy, foolish, gangstar life loving youths end up poor forever in America as citizens!

America, Europe and many developed nations give their citizens great opportunities to become just whatever they wish to become in life, its just a matter of choice and dedication to achieve it which many of their citizens throw away out of laziness, drug addiction, gangstar life and foolishness.

If Tyler Perry was a Nigerian guy, he will be in his remote village today stealing fowls to survive, so there is nothing to celebrate because being an American citizen alone made him a success.

Yeye de smell

And you think you have spoken wisely, abi? Do you know Kunle Afolayan and Tunde Kelani? Do you know Funke Akindele? There are Movie Producers who are doing well in Nigeria. Their movies are on Netflix and they live in Nigeria. Do you know how much Kunle Afolayan is actually worth in Naira and Dollars? Do you know Funke Akindele's bank balance? Please, drop those negative views and thoughts you harbor about Nigeria. Cheers.

Haba mana, why are you saying this now? She's my sister. I'm female by the way.

@OP, why don't you tell the forum how much the transport fare is for your sister? Besides, the NCCF can help her with the transport fare . I know the NCCF very well. They take up matters like this and sort it out quickly. Are you saying you don't have other siblings that can help her out with the money she needs? Hmn.

AND SOME PEOPLE SOMEWHERE WOULD BE DECEIVING US THAT NIGERIA IS 200 MILLION IN POPULATION

The 199m plus subscribers exclude the following categories:

1 primary school students in rural settlements
2 secondary school students in rural settlements
3 villagers in places where there's no electricity
4 secondary students in urban public schools
5 primary students in urban primary schools

In my opiniom, Nigeria is nearly 300 m population. The earlier the govt does something on unemployment in Nigeria, the better. There's a lot of problems ahead. No wonder there have been vices here and there. Instead of abating, it's rather increasing. Isn't it the high time we just split to know who's who in our land so we could harness our resources to cater for the teeming unemployed youths? Our government knows our actual population and that's why everyone goes there to steal and leave because they know nothing can ever work in a setting like this. I wish we had a country.

Birth and Death Registrations are not properly documented in Nigeria. I sincerely believe Nigeria's population should be hovering between 210-230 Milion citizens, not counting Nigerians in the diaspora. We need to know how many babies are born yearly in Nigeria. Government needs to enforce birth registrations in the country. Hospitals should be empowered to register births and deaths and even local nurses and doctors should be able to send data to the National Population Commission at any time of the day. Birth Certificates should be printed and distributed to all hospitals and clinics all over the nation. A Birth Certificate mould should be placed on the National Population Commission's website, so that Doctors and Nurses and Hospital Management can print out birth certificates and issue them to Nigerians directly after paying a form fee to the NPC. Cheers.

How is your day going? How are you and your family? My prayer is that God will continue to be with you and your family in Jesus name. Amen. 2020 will continue to favour all of us in Jesus name. Amen. For all those looking for new jobs, I pray that fresh doors of opportunity will be opened for you today. Amen. You are blessed.

UyaiIncomparabl:
If you are buying a crate of eggs for 1000 naira, how much do you intend to resell? A crate of eggs from the retailers are sold for that amount, so what will you as the distributor gain by selling them at that same price? Absolutely nothing.

You can get them at a far lesser price if you patiently wait to search the market thoroughly.

@UyaiIncomparabl, thanks for speaking the truth to the OP.

@ OP, do you have a Car? If you can drive and you have your own Car, please research Farms in Oyo State and Ogun State, and even Ikorodu in Lagos State. Use Google to draw up a list of farms in Oyo State or Ogun State. Drive down to these farms and get cheaper crates of eggs from them. You need to walk the walk to make profit from the egg business. You can get eggs at 750-800 Naira per Crate from these Farms. Then you can now sell at 1000-1100 Naira per crate to the end consumers. You can also go to the Agriculture Section of Nairaland to discuss with Egg Sellers and Farms on the threads there. Cheers.

Hello House , A brother is about to go into a Trading business ,He is contemplating on going for either Provisions store or Fairly used wears ( Okrika / Tokunboh )trading ,Please help if you are into either business with Experience .This brother was laid off His Monthly salary Job but he has saved some Money which he wants to carefully invest on .Provisions or fairly used ?

@OP, can you give us an idea of how much this brother has cash wise? This will help me advise him properly concerning the Tokunbo clothing business. He does not need to pay for the advice I will give him. I await your response. Cheers.

[quote author=cdm4live post=93285451]So I had to look for something to do. Went to a poultry farm to buy eggs. When I got there, the people selling were not around, they were yet to so I waited. Before my arrival, many other people were there. I initiated a chat with one guy there. He told me little about the business and so we waited together.
After about 45mins of waiting, the cashiers came and I approached them.
I have only thirty thousand naira to try this business. A crate is one thousand so, I needed 30. I was surprised to hear, we have no egg for you, come in the next two months.
I am so pissed. They have customers who buys more than 100 crates so, I wasn't given attention. I don't have a shop now and buying 100 crates when I have not tested the market seems odd. A friend is engineering me to buy the 100 but I haven't tried this market before and cannot risk that much for if now.
The guy I was chatting with told me of another location where I can get egg easily and in any quantity. The only problem is that he cannot ascertain how long the egg has been in their custody.
Nothing is really easy in this life.

I will not advice you to do any online business with the amount of money you have with you. I think you should ask around for other farms in the state you live in, where you can get fresh eggs at a lower amount. If you are buying a crate of eggs for 1000 Naira at wholesale price, how much do you want to sell your eggs to the end consumer? You need to dig deeper and look for Poultry farms where you can buy eggs for 850 Naira per crate . Try and raise extra money from your friends and siblings e.g starting with about 100,000 naira for this business is good. You can repay your debts to your siblings and friends when you start making profit. Look for farms in Ogun State and Oyo State who can offer you good wholesale prices per crate of egg. Stick with the egg business. Cheers.

You can use Chinese websites to source for products that you can use to start a business in Nigeria. It does not how small your business is because it makes sense to run a business in today's world and Nigeria. China is a very creative country with the Chinese making innovative small tools and products on a daily basis. You can find a good number of these novel products on Aliexpress.com, Alibaba.com, Globalsources.com, dhgate.com etc. Dhgate.com is becoming very powerful these days. Okay, so I have come across another product on these Chinese websites.

In Nigeria, there is a meal we enjoy eating. The meal is made with Corn and Beans which are cooked together. I remember when I was young and growing up in Lagos, Nigeria. My siblings and I used to buy this meal I am talking about. We called it or it is known as 'Adalu' in Yoruba language. It can also be cooked at home . However, you will need to pluck the maize/corn seeds from the cobs to cook Adalu. It is hard using your fingers to remove corn/maize from the cobs, you know. I have done this fruitless exercise before. So, I came across this tool on dhgate.com that you can use to remove corn seeds from the cobs effortlessly and quickly. It is called 'Corn Stripper'. You can order for this simple tool on dhgate.com or on aliexpress.com and it will be delivered to you in Nigeria within a Month. It is very cheap and affordable. So please type 'Corn Stripper' in the search bar of dhgate.com and aliexpress.com to get this product. If you are a Restaurant Owner, this tool will help you save time when you are preparing meals. I have attached pictures of the 'Corn Stripper' below. Thanks.

Don't dream it, it will be an evil dream.

Remember, the major opposition parties did not participate in the election.

I heard the SDP won one LG in Ondo State. Opposition Parties in Nigeria are not serious about grassroots elections . Let them continue in their stupidity.

hush15:
This is where I expect Sowore should even be more aggressive. More participatory. He doesn't need to contest but fully push their candidates. Make noise about cos he has to start from somewhere. If he can't impact elections in his state, is it at the presidency?

You beat me to it . I will start taking Omoyele Sowore serious when he starts thinking about starting from the grassroots and from his State, Ondo State. After losing out at the 2019 Presidential elections, he should have relocated to Ondo State with the goal of becoming the Chairman of his Local Government Area. I don't know if his Party is still active of if it has been de-registered by INEC. Can someone clear the air about the AAC's eligibility, please? Sowore needs to lead his Party to victories at Local Government elections and Senatorial elections first. We need to see him put his ideas into action at the Ondo State grassroots first. After some years building up his Party at the grassroots level, he can then try to represent Ondo State as a Senator in Abuja. Sowore should take the little steps first....

Happy Sunday . Lets thank God for the coming week. It shall be well with us and our families in Jesus name. 2021 will still yield a lot of good things and opportunities for us. Thank you, Jesus. For those who are looking for the fruit of the womb, your expectations will not be cut short in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

I remember 1995 in Ijebu-Ode when I wrote my WAEC exams . No be small thing o. Baba God, I thank you for my life.

Come and see serious fights on the streets of Ijebu-Ode between students after the last paper. Soldiers had to be drafted into town and mostly around Lagos Garage to stop the fighting. Hmn.

Please ignore this advice.

Run away from any business involving buying any type of vehicle and giving it out to another either on HP basis or otherwise. You will regret such business ventures.

It is good if you will be the one managing/driving your vehicles.

You have spoken well. The OP should sit down and write a business plan first. He needs to think deeply and plan properly. Hmn.

Because believe me in Nigeria the business would fall the same way it started

Why do you believe the business will fall? The reason why most businesses fail in Nigeria is not due to the state of the economy alone. It is due to poor thinking, poor strategy, poor pricing and poor marketing. You have not given the OP any advice at all .

Faster002:
Your advice please,
Below is some of my challenges :

Tried blogging : not encouraging

Forex trading: uncertainty

Freelancing : Upwork approved me, but for long no project

Web Design : client

My skills : html, CSS, Bootstrap, jquery, js, php, python(intermediate) and digital marketing.

I welcome any advice that will improve my skills or a promising business idea.

I will talk about Web Design. This is because Freelancing on Upwork has a lot of downsides. Many of these freelance sites are full of Indians and Pakistani users who have found a way to corner the opportunities on those Platforms for themselves, especially Fiverr, Freelancer.com and Upwork. You need to be extra patient and highly skilled to survive on international freelancing platforms. Now, there are many Schools ( Primary, Secondary and Tertiary ) in Nigeria that do not have websites at all or do not have someone to manage and update their websites for them. Why don't you approach Primary and Secondary schools in the state you are to see if you can design websites for them? Make a list of these schools on paper and check online if they have functional websites . Approach the schools that do not have websites and offer to build a website for them at a very affordable price. If your sales approach is turned down, move on to other schools on the list. By the time you cover 5 Local Governments, you should start getting jobs and contracts to build and maintain websites for these schools. You can make a lot of money in this line of business if you are creative with your skills. You can also offer to make existing school websites more interactive and attractive with updated information daily or weekly. Cheers.

It was sung by roseline Ogunro from Delta State. Check it out below:

Rosaline Ogunro - Oro Re(From 1987? a Yoruba soulful ballad song) ;

I met Roseline Ogunro in 1999 in Surulere, Lagos. I was interviewing ace newscaster and media personality, Bimbo Oloyede, that day. Roseline Ogunro and Bimbo Oloyede are very close. I think Ogunro was also a newscaster with NTA before she delved into music in the mid 80's. Cheers.

I have some free time on my hands today to update this thread. As you can see, the residential and office cleaning businesses are becoming popular in Nigeria. There are lots of simple tools you can import from China that will help you save time and money when it comes to your cleaning businesses. Do you know that you can focus on cleaning Ovens ( Normal and Microwave Ovens ) as a cleaning business? Many people bake in Nigeria privately and commercially . And ovens are very sensitive machines that accumulate dirt, pastry muck and oily stains as the days roll by. Some people and businesses will gladly pay a very good Oven Cleaner/Cleaning Company good money to clean their Ovens on a monthly or weekly basis ( Commercial bakery businesses who use modern Ovens ). While doing my research, I came across a product that can help you clean Microwave Ovens and Electric or gas ovens easily without stress. It is called 'Hot Angry Mama Microwave Cleaner '. It looks like a toy but it is very powerful. You just need to open it, put water and vinegar into it and place it in the Microwave/Oven. Then turn the Oven on for 7 minutes. After 7 minutes, open the Oven and clean it out with a clean cloth ( preferably a Microfiber cleaning cloth )- The oven will be sparkling clean and smelling fresh. You can also use this product to clean fridges. Search Aliexpress and Dhgate.com with the words ' Hot Angry Mama Microwave Oven Cleaner' and you will see this item listed on these sites. You can buy 3-4 pairs for your cleaning business. I have attached pictures of this product below.

The electoral system is faulty.
Third party cannot win.
Rigged system to favor pdp or apc

That is what you think .

Third party does not need to contest the Presidential elections. It should be mainly contesting to win 350 Local Government Seats, many councilor seats, Senatorial seats. House of Rep seats etc. Maybe up to 2-5 Governorship seats. This can happen in 2023. Then the third party plans properly for the 2027 elections in which it will give Aso Rock a shot.

Bro no be lie you talk but wetin man go do na?
Things dey very hard now.
If i no do am,how i go take chop?

Bro, I thank God for your life. However, I think you should apprentice yourself to a Plumber, Painter or Carpenter and learn some skills from them. If you humble yourself and apprentice yourself to any of them, they will take you along to sites and they will pay you some stipend everyday for being their assistant. If you learn quickly, you can start doing your own private jobs when you are free. Carrying pans of cement and sand etc is a very difficult job. You have to be extra strong to survive on jobs like that. Plumbing, Painting and Carpentry bring in more money if you are gifted in those areas. Cheers.

DW Sports in the UK has just gone into administration . Many businesses, Supermarkets and Stores in the UK are laying off staff at the moment. So why all the hullabaloo about Shoprite exiting Nigeria? Businesses fail all over the world for different reasons. Only the strong businesses survive in the countries they are operating in. Nigeria has a very competitive and harsh business environment in which only the strongest ventures survive. Small supermarkets in Nigerian neighborhoods will always have customers because they are closer to their customers. And there are lots of small scale supermarkets in cities all over Nigeria. Shoprite cannot compete effectively with these small supermarkets who have a maximum of 1-3 branches. My mother once owned a small shop when I was very young. I know how many goods we sold daily as I had to record every sale in a notebook . I was like 6-8 years old then. My mum was very good at getting products people in the vicinity of her Shop needed. People will rather shop quickly at the Small store or Shop closest to them when they want to eat, drink something or brush their teeth, bathe etc. No one wants to go a bit further away for something they can get at a better price in their area. Shoprite failed at SERVICE DELIVERY. Cheers.
