peepydelano:This may be harsh but the fact is the man is principled in seeking a broader power base in his party to reflect national diversity. He may ultimately be selfish but isn't this the so called internal opposition which all political parties have lacked since the return of democracy in 1999. The kind of internal battles that may have helped the ruling APC and this government along the lines of good governance for the benefit of the people. Who gains when leadership is surrounded by 'yes' men alone. That in the case Mr. Atiku wins the general elections and Wike remains in the PDP we can be sure the government will not become autocratic like the Buhari led administration. We as a people should be careful that we are not inadvertently exposing those who present themselves for leadership to the disease of feudalism. Atiku and the PDP should face the facts and sort out its internal structure which is defective and can potentially drag Nigeria into a bigger mess if we the people accede to it. Wike may not be the poster boy for democracy but his fight is legitimate and the ground on which he stands is absolutely necessary. We should not exchange one autocrat for another. Leadership must be willing to dialogue and make concessions on any and every matter. Nigerians should see the good or bad signs in this. |
Willie2015:Democracy is not only about a past bad choice but more about a potentially worse one. There were other options in 2015. Mr Buhari was not the only person that presented himself for election primaries and 'secondaries'. We will be good students of history by the force of suffering because. Once again we will end up with a bad choice later this month. Once again by 2027 folks like you will have forgotten the many choices at the primaries that were bought and sold and the 'secondaries' where you will be voting with your misplaced emotions instead of your head. May the suffering continue until our goose is cooked. |
Ireportlive:See excuses. One minute everyone is an ostrich, next minute they are shouting 'kingmaker' and bowing down to idolatry as if this is a monarchy. So the man is no longer omni-potent.... Elections do indeed have serious consequences. A people truly cannot experience a better country beyond their mental capacity to make one. A people that cannot relate their electoral actions with their democratic experiences are doomed to suffer. A people that love feudalism have tagged themselves as peons and must give up their liberties. Can I hear a 'Sai Baba'..... am waiting patiently please..... or has everyone been demystified....? The morning of 2014/15 showed us what the evening of 2023 will be..... most did not bother. From now everyone will be good students of history.... may the suffering continue until our goose is cooked. |
Said it in 2014/5. That by the end of this administration.... every one of them will be demystified. Wow. So 8 years has gone just like that.... down the drain.... Where are all the hailers of yesteryears... the 'sai Baba's' fanatics.... Some are wailing in posts above...., some have gone deaf and dumb....changed identity, others have fled to the hills for their sorry lives... None can raise their heads and beat their chests that the government they fought tooth and nail for has been a success story. As pidgin Nigeria goes. EVERYONE HAS BEEN SERVED..... Nature has a way of leveling up. |
I have been very impressed the way Mr. Tinubu has been honest and forthright about the present administration is his campaigns lately, about the present leadership of the country, the peoples that run government and their less than qualitative performances. This is what he should have embarked on immediately the government was returned in 2019 and had no chance constitutionally of a third term. Then he will have amassed huge political credibility by now and not be ensnared and anchored down by the problems this government has placed on his ambition. We seriously need to build institutions and political parties are no exceptions where alternate ideas in government can be internally debated for optimum performance of the governing party. But we love feudalism where the President is the party lead and his personal parochial tendencies cannot be questioned leading to the destruction of the entire party that upholds his mandate at the next polls. I sincerely hope Mr. Buhari will be the last autocrat to ever rule Nigeria. |
The Gunners have a fetish for Chelsea pensioners. Galas, Cech, Willian and others all move to the other side of London typically for a year long gratuity. |
Hmmm...... 'na so 'Storage Wars' Kisumu, Kenya take start. DsTv take note. |
Wither our multi billion naira trains that this government ruined the economy for in the so called trillions of naira infrastructure drive.... Even if you want to sell it now..... who will want to buy into such questionable investment. Fellow Nigerians.... you can run but you cannot hide, you can pretend all you want all night but reality awaits at dawn. Without restructuring this country cannot produce anything other than consistent pain. And most will go to their graves never experiencing a better country. I'm off to work to further insulate myself from this collective tragedy, bye. |
Commander-In-Ignorance of the Federal Republic who has led vast numbers of citizens that cannot relate their actions to their experiences. Such that when they have the opportunity to exercise power either in office or through the ballot they make the worst possible decisions only to lament at the fallout when the dust settles. Oga, that failures get booted out is the proper cost of democracy. Get that in your head which is teeming with feudal thoughts. You can own everything except the minds of the few right thinking people of this country. Bye. |
These days only an anthill.... if you don't mind living like a termite. 3 million that cannot even get you a decent portakabin or motorhome/caravan.... |
Bit of history being made today. First time Africa has produced the first and second highest goal scorers in the Serie A with Ademola Lookman's strike against Juventus taking him to 10 goals, three behind Victor Osimen with 13. |
Good advert to the Premiership. I am sure most neutrals will want the Gunners to go all the way and take the title. We don't want our favorite league to become the boring one man show called the Bundesliga. |
frankson1:Yeah, and get that Weghorst off. The guy is a passenger. |
Saka is trying the right way. Good attempt. |
United playing excellently now while Arsenal still trying to walk into the goal. See Arteta's frustration. But he has not cultivated the art of finishing at an instance into his team. |
Beckham in the house.. ![]() |
Angelfrost. Can you see what a strike on goal is. That is what this Arsenal team should cultivate more. |
Dybala11:I think it is more than an Nketiah problem. The way Arteta sets out this team and encourages box runs at every attempt makes striking difficult. Napoli plays the same way Arsenal does but they allow Osimen strike properly from anywhere around the box. That Granit Xhaka is the best striker of the ball us telling and even he has given up that play. Going forward teams will begin to defend well against this Arsenal team if the only tactic is to drive into the box six. |
frankson1:He has not played in a while. Match rusty and not up to speed to the new, dynamic United gameplay. |
Angelfrost:Indeed but Arsenal can dramatically increase it's shot count by a proper striker. And these opportunities created in the last third are not effectively utilized. |
When is Arteta going to gravitate to the need for a proper, traditional number 9. How many times will you arrive in the 18 box before a shot on goal. This crave to working the ball into the net is costly. See what a proper 9 is doing for United. |
Kobonaire4:Oga. Remove all the subsidies, tax the hell out of everyone, multiply government revenue a million times over, a bad system is a bad system. The money still will not create value or be utilized properly. All you will have done is to fatten the already fat cats, multiply government contractors and deepen corruption. Right now this government is at liberty to source finances via it's much trumpeted borrowings. What have they spent the trillions on. That is what matters. A system where the citizens do not decide how government spends and on what government spends is one that will remain damaged. It is not about volume but about values. And it starts by creating value in the citizens. A nation of people that know what they want and are UNIFIED in aspirations to the extent sentiment is dead. Such a people will be feared by leadership and consulted in every matter including how and on what THEIR money is spent. Then you can be sure more revenue will mean a better outlook for all. We have not started down this lane. We are still asleep. And will remain so until the last doctor gets a visa. |
And they say 'we are doing well'. The systematic destruction of the remnants of the middle class has been unparalleled in the history of this country under this administration. Very soon all that will be left here are hunters and prey as the hapless security agencies attest to. |
It appears quite a few folks are wondering why other clubs investigated are not similarly under the cush when the 'creative accounting' policy and it's fallout is widely practiced. For one, Victor Osimen's transfer from Lille must be netting Napoli a tidy 'book profit' every season like that of the Pjanic/Arthur business with Barca which triggered this mess. After all the three players that went to Lille in the swap have all become footballing 'ghosts' just like Pjanic and Arthur. Italy will forever remain the defacto European Banana republic capital. A nation of question marks since the Roman Empire fell. |
Broveens42:Thomas Partey does not have a replacement in that team. You know what happened last season when he was in and out often. You know what happened against United, the only serious game he has not played so far. Pls just don't say Elneny. That man has been in that squad for years and his performance is like a traffic light. And if Granit plays there he won't feature in more than ten games a season by reason of cards. |
Elections have consequences. We warned many times. This is what happens when you cannot relate your preferred politics with your life experiences. |
I feel defensive midfield is the position Arsenal are a bad tackle away from a pack of cards. The Thomas Partey juggernaut needs a spare tyre of equal performance. Contrary to all the hot air. That is where the gunners have made a difference this season. He has played consistently so far. He is the closest thing to resemble certain Kante bar a rising Casemiro except if they fancy Rice. |
It is certain the founder of Tottenham Hotspurs way back made his name from bottled water. |
No Mister Analyst. They say they have done well.... and we should continue... like some sleek WWE tag team..... ![]() |
Partey is badly affected by fan boos and is misplacing passes all over. Arteta had better give him some airpods to listen to motivational messages or replace him. |
Hugo Loris has seen better days. Looks like he's been fasting on RedBull since France lost the finals. See the rings round his tired eyes. |
Ha. ATR-72 again. |
