perez100:But the US stocks of Javelins are running low except the EU pitches in with its own inventories. And low for two reasons. The US has not fought an armored war for a very long time so production was halted a while back and with new anti-tank systems on the horizon Raytheon's production line is all but ended except by an Exec Order....so. PS: On the last, since the US is not technically at war, there are hurdles to pass before old production lines can be restarted. Even the Almighty United States faces the same problems Nigeria faces when trying to procure armament from itself (technically). Most folks fail to realise that ALL US weapons are made by the private sector so to stock, Congress has To approve and this is no small task, especially when you are technically NOT AT WAR. |
PDP is in a real mess. That is why we say, that without restructuring Nigeria will NEVER get out of the pit of having 'clean and renewable energy' at the heart of its leadership. We will continue to have to choose between the proverbial 'devil and the deep sea.'. With this terrible structure at work in Nigeria, just like in 2015, the PDP can only realistically hope to win if it fields this man. A man with so much historical baggage, much of which is just debris and garbage, that will simply make him a lame duck president at best. The opposition will just be doing 'baban bola' over his Presidency for the next four years, just as the current President cannot move a step without the ghost of the 80's haunting him. How you can get younger, sterile, competent men and women that we all desire into power in a country sinking into the mire of ethnicity, bigotry and debilitating ignorance without restructuring is the modern day Nigerian mystery. Till then let us occupy ourselves with fanning the embers of misery till we 'get sense'. But to me one thing is certain and that is, till Nigeria is restructured I will not be seen a hundred leagues from any INEC office to register for a PVC thoughtless of standing in line to vote for people who I am certain will not make my life better. It is not that the system is broken. There is no system. |
With all that has happened this month no one outside Russia will loose any sleep over these charade parades. It is obvious sabre rattling, nothing more. Chances are that even half their so called strategic nuclear weapons are not even serviceable, the other half probably manned by hungry, ill trained, ill motivated conscripts. China is the west's real adversary. Russia's day in the sun is long over. |
We warned about these things years ago. How this government failed to put out the fires when they had the opportunities to. And that a time will come when the doors to negotiations and civility will be closed. Seems the lessons of the decade plus old war in the north-east has not been learnt. Why can't this nation come to peace with its peoples and find the justice that will cease all strife. There will be no winners like this. |
The only small 'yes' you can say to the pump is that Osimen and Kylian play almost the same way albeit Mbappe is miles ahead technically. Every other thing screams a big NO! NO!! NO!!!..... and who was saying Napoli surrounded him with sharks instead of lifeboats.... Kylan is experiencing far worse selfishness at the Parc. |
SeaTrade:Easier said than done. Mid-air fires or explosions rarely, RARELY, RARELY end well anywhere in the world. Remember this is a very old aircraft with most of its systems including the airframe considerably weakened. And then what are the emergency services like at Nnamdi Zik or MMIA.... abeg, make I hear word. |
Focusmind:Indeed. Those tyres could have given way midair with catastrophic consequences. Under inflation or more likely brake binding caused it. |
Hmmm.... Dana, the Peace Mass Transit of the Nigerian airspace. Always hanging on the edge of extinction. |
Putin should be very careful. A coup is not far off the horizon. |
And here a sitting governor on candid camera, stuffing his robe with wads of cash remains a power broker and future king makes while his subjects wallow in penury yet cannot cut him loose. |
And every single one of them is processed so her organs have started battling future diseases. |
mywells:Well informed. |
OVB123:Not entirely true. That area is old land and most of those buildings existed precolonial time. What often happens is that they have been 'renovated' time and again over the years without due consideration to what happens beneath the surface of the ground. Close to the lagoon and with high water table foundation failures are bound when salt dances with concrete over a long period of time. In the coming years more buildings are likely to come down all over Lagos Island and its shorelines as the 'sell by date' of their foundations arrive no matter what cosmetics are done to their facades. What government should do should is to float a PPP Engineering outfit that specializes in foundation works and can offer shoring, underpinning and short piling services at a discount to landlords in these foreshore areas particularly for older buildings some of which have significant historical or archaeological value. |
iamme1234:Na so. But not even a whisper about restructuring or self determination..... from the top of the hills to the darkest depths of despair..... not even a whimper??....hmmm... Just cannot see how injustice can be conquered without assertion. I am sorry but you simply do not negotiate 1000 years of slavery and subjugation. It will NEVER happen that way.... NEVER. |
He wants to be on the right side of history knowing that in a few months this regime will be gone, the man will return home and he will not be found in the nest of hypocrites. Very clever. |
poshestmina:Abi oh. They cannot copy their American counterparts. The 'made men' of Sicilian origin or the latin american gangsters that spot thousand dollar suits and drive around in bespoked chariots. Our own hooligans take their culture from Nollywood and its love for the wretched culture of occultic malfeasance..... ![]() |
lexy2014:Relative to a Westham that is playing Europa and gave Arsenal a real fright tonight. Then think about what happens when this team comes up against the Bayern's, PSG's and even Liverpool's of this world loaded with high quality squads experienced at that level.... except if they just want to appear in UCL for the appearance fee. Remember this club has a pedigree. No continental club will play them with reservation or pity. Thus they have to be prepared. |
lexy2014:Quality is a relative term. I will wish to define it as the ability to compete favorably, consistently and with minimum fuss. The present Arsenal squad can become a force to reckon with but in its present state they are far off competing at the highest levels. If they are to make an impact in next season's UCL, a major shakedown is necessary. Some of their recent buys are real bombs, completely off the quality mark. |
It is one thing to qualify for the UCl, quite another to do well. A third of this Arsenal squad are really average, bordering on poor quality. There is practically no forward line, no substitute for Partey in the middle and central defence is always a whisker away from calamity. Apart from the quartet of Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, Saka and Martinelli, I just cannot see any other player that is comfortable playing the game at this level and has elevated competence to grow into. The rest are playing beyond their capacities and struggling to hold their heads above water for most of the season. A UCL quest will definitely require UCL quality players if they dream of progressing beyond the prelim stages. |
luvmijeje:Not your fault. Until men begin to connect the dots between seduction and harassment will they stand up to demand justice. The womenfolk are far further down the line on their sexual rights while men are caught in a flux like rats attracted to bait. You come around me half naked and I kick you off the Khyber. Your body, my mind. Both can be abused. |
ibechris:Is it the hotel killing people or people killing people. Investigate and prosecute those involved. If the hotel management is involved the facility will be closed anyway so you don't start by attacking inanimate objects for crimes of persons yet to be identified. Will you 'demolish' the Abuja/Kaduna rail network because dozens were killed weeks ago. |
That is why we say that without restructuring this country will never be free of terminal problems. We will never escape our self imposed prison term to develop. The conundrum is clear. While the ruling APC is justified in zoning the presidency to the south, the opposition PDP is not, as the truncated Yaradua presidency is all the north has had as representation in all 16 years of PDP rule, so there is an argument there. If the PDP fields a southerner and wins then the party will begin to take upon itself an ethnic or regional coloration which will be another problem. So essentially it is up to the APC to win for a south to regain power justly... but then that is not democracy and it will put the APC in perpetual office on account of it being on the right tracks of the rotation equation. The only way to square this circle is for all of us, citizens to sit down and discourse to agree a template of political power fit to govern Nigeria, the process of which is called restructuring. |
Godsways:With this thought process there is little wonder why they simply cannot vote credible leaders into political office. |
Damidave1124:You folks voted him in. Didn't you ask all these questions when you voted him in for a second term ![]() Once is folly, twice is the sin of rebellion. Do not disturb the Almighty God with 'stiff neckism' |
On the radio waves just yesterday were complaints by residents of the FCT that daggers, swords and even bows and arrows were being sold in the open including being hawked in traffic.... so..... it is self-help loading..... symptomatic of a failed state. |
Please stop eating animal entrails. They really do shorten your lifespan. |
Maxymilliano:Well, they voted him in. Not his faulty he cannot serve them. They didn't ask for service. |
They say zoos and other animal enclosures do not feature on the tourist maps of much of Africa because they are either all eaten or all feared. |
If he could overpower his escorts, why didn't he just kill them both and escape to join his employers. Worst outcome of the attempt will then be murder suicide. Why just kill himself.... which is ergonomically near impossible with a rifle while handcuffed in a highly stressed situation. |
Quickly running out of fuel.... explosion during refueling..... leaky fuel tank..... lucky souls. |
What is the substance of his campaign. That is what I want to hear. What is his vision, mission and his decisions. People should not follow anyone if the destination is uncertain. 2014/15 should have cleared our doubts. |
Paying trillions in subsidies for imported fuel and then paying billions in salaries to people for doing practically nothing... Only in Nigeria. If the refineries are a renovation project site as government proposed with so much fanfare last year, then why are the staff not furloughed. Will a landlord renovate his premises with tenants living in? I just do not understand. They said Dangote wanted to sell to friends. At least if I see someone to take my sick old dog I am taking to the vet and feeding daily at huge expenses when I am broke and out of work, won't I jump at it. Will my love for the dog overwhelm my common sense?? Nigerians that are not critical thinkers should pick up their calculators and sum up how much this wasteful government has spent on holding these dead assets these 7 years and perhaps realise what the billions and trillions could have done to their wallets. We are and will continue to pay dearly for our foolishness as citizens that are too weak, too ignorant and too divided to experience a better life. They should pay them off immediately and shut that damn place down or those 'casual ties' (pun intended) can do us all a favour and burn the whole place down to end this horror story. There should be enough volatile old grease in the rusty pipes and tanks do favour Nigeria. Nonsense. |
