That is crippling. By then the Russian economy will be in absolute ruins.... bankrupt businesses, terrible job losses and serious internal agitations and insecurity. Whatever victory that will be gained abroad will be no more than Pyrrhic. |
Deltavariant:This is a 'good morning' event to you folks. Sad to say this, but as a non voter it is important for me to state that: We have been saying this constantly for years, decades. Without restructuring we just cannot have qualitative leadership in Nigeria. And without qualitative leadership progress and development will remain an illusion. And the only way to get the cycle of 'chicken (leadership) and egg (restructuring)' going is unprecedented suffering that will disarm and strip the vast majority of hapless Nigerians of the sentiments that hold them captive to the status quo. So, may the suffering continue. |
kponkedenge:And usually there is no one to vote for. The middle class will not just vote for the sake of it and further legoitimize a system that is just unworkable. |
Moferere:Perhaps you should call on those supporting the senseless war in Ukraine for help. |
Lucky you. This profligate government will probably contact you to know the secrets of your 'success' And then make you the Minister of Finance. |
There are too many things wrong here. First..... at the back where ol Harry should be on minimum wage. That is One Pound, Ninety-Five cents per hour...195,000 quid a week.... ... for what. 100,000 more than Wan Bissaka... is just purely de-motivational.Then did I see Scott on 10,000 quid..... is that a typo or what....when a certain Spaniard earning 16 times.... 16 times..... 16 times his dough for being on holidays like.... forever. Then of course CR7.... can pay almost half the team to overlook his age..... ![]() |
Just days after his birthday. What an icon of sports, a voice never to be forgotten both on screen and over the airwaves. A consummate encyclopaedia of sports and a custodian of the very best memories of a time Nigeria was up there with the very best in world sports. RIP great man. |
Well, the last time you played you were just terrible. Could not run, could not jump, could not tackle.... Just hope you have changed. In sports, history counts for nothing. Everyone lives in the present, no sentiments. |
While most of the freeloaders are out there in front, the beasts of burden are on minimum wage.... Timo is just having the time of his life.... another Ozil in the making. When will footy adopt a pay per play system.... perhaps certain teams will be more competitive.... Pogba will probably be earning 5 pounds, thirty cents per hour and ol Harry Maguire will be playing for charity.... |
REALretep:I thought Russia had banned crypto.... several months ago, before this conflict, citing a threat to the 'control' of its economy. |
sanpipita:And they hold a lot of US bonds..... I mean a lot of US debt....aka foreign reserves.... You be careful with him that owes you. |
Why are people so hard against this. The police is a service which means those that they serve matter. If a dress code conveys a sense of respect and belonging, it should be embraced. If it will attract more women of the muslim faith into the service then I think it is a good thing. If you are against it and then speak of diversity, is that not hypocrisy? |
Na so. Where was Russia when Japan invaded, occupied and decimated China.... of course they had a pact with Japan (not to interfere)' It was the West that fought the Japanese. It was FD Roosevelt that urged Congress to approve the donation of arms to China... And what happened..... Mao Zedong pushed out Chiang kai-shek after the coast cleared up and cozied up to Moscow. Hindsight is 20/20. If America saw this ahead and was as self serving as most people rightly or wrongly believe they will have let the Chinese rot under the jackboots of General Tojo or made a deal with the Emperor to keep China as a colony. America has always fought for the liberty of nations. Yes, they have often mistakenly desired democracy for nation unwilling or unable to accept it. But if they wanted colonies, they would directly govern half the world today. They have supported in one way or the other almost all nations of the free world in their struggles for emancipation, both those that are friendly today and those that are not. Because they themselves are born out of a struggle for independence from the British to which only the French offered support all those hundreds of years ago. |
Dsalvo:Again.... '.....Saboteur Southerners, paid agents and self-serving wicked souls, like Omokri, simply want to package another gradualist, conservative, Oligarchic, reform-resistant, socialist, centralist, and visionless Northerner, wedded to outdated ideologies, for us so we get 8 years of 'more of the same'..... Which makes one think exactly who you are describing. Because in 2014/5 you could easily exchange that Omokri name for a whole host of 'southerners' who aspire today. Honestly. I will ordinarily have a lot of confidence in a Tinubu presidency but just like you alluded, but. He has not presented anything to Nigerians because he fears upsetting the very establishment he set up and thus shooting himself in the foot. The kind of quagmire facing the ruling party that so vociferously demonstrated against subsidy removal that it haunts them today and they cannot move forward. My friend. Your candidate has to square the circle of the last 7 'wilderness' years with his aspirations. In a working democracy, let us be honest here, he stands no chance (or any other candidate of the APC) of electoral success. In a working democracy, I mean. Mr Tinubu, what is your stand on the past 7 years. Speak up and the citizens will take it from there. |
Dsalvo:But he brought in the present government that has not performed to expectations so why don't you question that judgement. Why didn't he... 'cleaned the SW political Augean Stables to the extent technocrats, performers and visionary folks from anywhere and any background, the sort who dare not get involved in Nigerian politics during OBJ's reign, can seek political office today and actually be voted into office. .... do this in 2015. Afterall there were many candidates to pick for his support.... |
club340:Snoring is caused by the narrowing of the airway at the back of the throat which becomes involuntary when one loses consciousness (sleep). Thus this can be the only viable permanent solution.... but this procedure is not for the faint hearted. Failure rates in these parts are high. Summary. Just lose weight to reduce the intensity and live your life biko. |
Mynd44:Exactly. But a single F-35 takes over 40,000 man hours to build. Then all the support structures, stores, training..... which can only be sped up by the War Act of Congress.... which technically means America is at war ....which it isn't.... so a long, long wait. |
Biko leave them alone. They are not sure about the next government and have their ears to the ground to the anger in the land about these wanton, shady loan deals. Lesson is clear. Debate important decisions to take everyone along. Then your legacy projects will be defended and secured by all citizens irrespective of politics, sentiment or goverments. That is how democracy works. There is always fear and anxiety in autocracy, no matter who is doing it. |
catice:Good morning. Na now you know say problem dey Nigeria. Perhaps this will be the issue that ignites (pun intended) the hapless citizens to say, enough is enough. But as you can see, many have the backs of their oppressors. |
blackboy:Thank you. The government is just embarrassed. Let them do what they want, the message is loud and clear. Bad governance elevates risk in all society. |
kellidoo:For bringing shame and ridicule to government. Dummies should have handled the matter discreetly. Now this will be headline news all week and a reexamination of the failures of governance. |
SeeThisLoser:The man that has superintended over the assassination of countless people knows the value of proximity to the administration of various poisonous cocktails. |
Flets:Well I do not have a voters card and until Nigeria is restructured will never stand in line to vote for anything. It is clear to the blind and audible to the deaf that this isn't democracy. Well, no one in the APC should complain. All their principals do it at the various levels where they stand as emperors. |
backbencher:Simple. Your security lies in your 'friendliness'. Be friendly with your neighbors and they will secure your borders. That is simple wisdom lost on Putin. The day robbers come to your neighborhood, the distress call will only ring out when they near the dwelling of the good man on the street. There is nothing Putin could have done to erase the sins of Stalin and the years of Soviet oppression in Ukraine and its other satellite states but all these two decades there is a lot he could have done to repair, restore, placate and cozy up to them and they will not ever consider joining the 'west'. When the iron curtain fell, West Germany made it a serious point of note for both citizens and government that no one from the former East Germany will be discriminated against or persecuted for wrongs done during the Soviet era, even though there were horrific crimes committed by the East German state. Today you cannot even tell the difference between a west german and an east german. There lies security. All Putin has been after, his dream of twenty odd years is subjugation, a recast of the defunct Union where Russia subjugates all other ethnicities and territories. Who will accept that. Will any Nigerian President launch an attack on Niger to colonise her because there are ethnic fulanis there or attack Benin Republic because we do not like the French and there are ethnic yorubas there... No. Deep security lies in friendship and solidarity. Putin has no fears of insecurity. He rather has a disease of conquest, period. |
uthlaw:When we say restructure to make our democracy meaningful and viable, competitive and all about performance you folks say no. That you like Nigeria the way it is. |
The problem with this statement is the acknowledgement that democracy is indeed dysfunctional and elections are meaningless..... yet another reason why I don't have a PVC and may never vote in my lifetime. For if they go about 'helping' and being 'helped' then what is the point. It is not about capability as a potential for leadership or performance as an assessment of leadership but what the powers that be chose to do. And if Mr. Tinubu is sold out to this ideology then a greater power than he has the absolute right to 'help' whosoever he wants to become President in 2023.... The lesson here is clear. Whatsoever you build will be your refuge or your enemy's rampart. |
Not remotely interested but Tinubu's fans should realize that it is what their principal has been doing in Lagos and the southwest in general since 1999. We have been complaining that democracy has not been allowed to thrive in truth but since it was okay then, I guess it should be okay now and with another 'kingmaker'.... whatever that is.. Whatever the case, democracy loses and we will have another set of leadership foisted on the nation and ultimately doomed to fail. Nigeria will not get better, heads or tails. |
Can we get any lower in this country.... ![]() |
voupaz:No, no no, no....the suffering is still not enough. When the water is hot enough garri will turn to eba without prayers. When the suffering becomes a game changer no one will have the courage to advertise for any politician or chant the name of any political party on the streets for fear of death. Everyone will become the same tribe and religion. Our turn will vanish. The compass will be spinning at will. North will become south in the morning, east in the afternoon and west in the evening. When the suffering formats this country, everyone will know. Till then, may the pot remain on the stove. I said it before this administration came on board in 2015. We either restructure willingly or be restructured be compulsion in an emergency ward. |
DeepSight:Exactly. Suffering is mandatory. It is good for the soul. When you fast, a higher power takes note. Not because He is not always there but because you need it to listen. Horrendous suffering will ultimately break us to stark realities. |
tnerro1:Nigerians will still vote them in. We have a completely incompetent citizenry that just cannot relate their choices with their experiences. They need to suffer more and more harshly, more years in the furnace to be softened and malleable to common sense. In saner climes the present state of the nation is a guaranteed landslide for the opposition.... but wither Nigeria's primary opposition party.... what a mess. |
'Knock, knock, who's there....' ?!?*?!#?..... .....this man is going nuts... ![]() |
