Just sit in one position and CREATE VALUE. Success will locate you ANYWHERE. Most people will rather see VALUE in other people and other places. |
freebreezeyz:Spoke what mind. She has served her time. Even those who started the world of incarceration now call it a 'correctional' institution. Granted the punishment was terribly lenient but that is the law. The threat to justice now comes from thinking like yours, those who want more than justice. Go down this lane and no one of such status will ever see punishment. They will all evade it and society will pay a price for that. Look at the Sanusi who blew the whistle on her nefarious activities. Was he not running from pillar to post to cover his own backside. Now, who suffers most, the victims of Cecilia or the victims of Sanusi..... who may never see justice and may be continue to be robbed even as we speak. |
ringi82:How do you learn. Fashola bows for 2 weeks for outage at my office. Na die be dat oh. |
So have we progressed or regressed since then.....despite all the interventions.... |
Benekruku:What have you done with the states you have....the nation in general....what has changed. Is Anambra worse off than other APC controlled states or are other APC states better. Elections are about the people putting representatives in power to better their lives not some melodramatic exercise of alphabetical rounders. |
Mathew 24: 11 - 13. |
delivryboy:Hmm....says so much about the 'dull' men.... who cannot find quality. Yes she's a this and a that. What about the quality of the man 'batterer'. What attracted him to her if not the very same things on exhibit. And since he's moved on, what can't she. |
stuffs4me:Is your name Afonja. Why must you guys respond to every racist exchange. This forum is going to the dogs with all this nonsense and it appears the operators are content with this vulgarity as it pulls traffic. The best and only way to end this mess is to stop responding and break the visciois cycle. You can't see the person, you don't know the person and you vent heat like a nuclear power station. What if it is just a robot on the other end tugging your chain..... abeg wake up. |
ogobaby23:I told you folks but you said corruption.was the one and only problem entrapping Nigeria. Every month that goes by without the issue of Nigeria out front and centre and not hidden under sentimentality only increases the final price tag of any form of reasonable existence. |
DanseMacabre:It doesn't at all. The fact that the deceased alighted and accosted tells me he probably assaulted too. I can understand road rage but we all know throughout the world it often comes with unintended consequences. If law enforcement, criminal justice, insurance, etc all work these tragedies will just not occur. |
Now this is very silly and thoughtless if the reports are true. Just when things are settling down nicely and the movement growing in a cerebral manner you have jokers trying to distract. For their information, Buhari is no more than a lightning rod for the northern hegemony they fight. The issues befalling Nigeria are not domicilled in individuals but in the collective psyche of those who benefit from it. There are serious limits to what Buhari can do on his own. And these limits will include removal from office if he crosses certain line. The future of Nigerians lie in the collective will of the people. Yes, leaders take responsibility but cannot force their will on people. The pressure should be on the Nigerian state not necessarily individuals of which Buhari clearly comes across as a mere actor. It is not a Kanu thing or a Buhari thing. It is Njgeria thing. A state that destroys its peoples. |
sekundosekundo:Oh, prayer has its part, grace, faith, etc, but you have to work things to work. Like I said, it is not a matter of pretence but of agreement. If you pretend to want something but agree on another you are still obliged. No man can read another man's mind. Marraige is not sentiments. It is agreement. The Bible says, 'can two work together except they agree'. People change but what they agreed to remains. For most courtship is a fun period. Real courtship is no fun I tell you. This is where most people start to get 'disappointed' about the person they propose to marry and expectations are reset but others gloss over it and prefer to know the whole package when it is too late. |
missyadorable:It is not the length that matters, it is the substance of what was discussed. If in three months all the issues had been thrashed out then its fine. If ones life is so simple a courtship can be concluded in 24 hours but if anything of substance was missed, that is where the problem arises. It is the complex nature of individuals these days that necessitates longer courtships. As women become more empowered and assertive there are more and more issues to be discussed and agreed upon. In the days of our fathers our mothers just accepted every possible outcome. Times have changed, society too. With the kind of complexities around my person if I were to be courting today I cannot see it last less than 5 years because I will be seeking to tie an equally complex, dynamic, high quality lady and I know she will come with a manual the size of the bible. |
sekundosekundo:I prefer to use the word 'court' rather than date. Dates don't perform any meaningful function. Courtship on the other hand is where issues of marraige are settled before hand. It is not a matter of insincerity or not. It is a matter of records and evidence. A proper courtship will have settled the fundamental issues amongst other things, of work, career, visons and aspirations. If he denies you simply bring out the agreement. Can he deny that. If the marraige heads to court you present your evidence. People think courtship is a joke or just talkshop. It is conference of committment and anyone who is not prepared to court is not prepared to marry. No woman should marry a man who is not comitted. Who hasn't answered all her questions. But it takes a quality, knowledgeable woman to handle a proper courtship and ask the right questions. Most are just blown away by the ocassion and are just looking for relief. How will you toy with a person that has power over you till your grave. People sef. |
Did you not court. Courtship is to settle issues of fundamental existence as husband and wife. Every question should be answered then before contract signing. The more complicated the individuals the longer the courtship. Since you may have flunked the pre-qualification process the only option is to renegotiate terms. Oya. Start courting. You're not yet married. Common work issue una never settle. |
tuniski:The problem with most governments is that the priorities are wrong due to the bad structure of the federation. If (by your assertion), civil setvants constitute just 1% of the population it will take just 10 to 20 percent of the general population paying taxes as a result of employment to pay those salaries even without allocation. It is possible for even the poorest states to pay salaries without allocation if these politicians care to empower the greater populace. If my bills were just one percent of my potential asset income I would be the happiest person on earth. These governors are just lazy upstairs. There's just too much untapped potential lying idle in Nigeria. And I mean human capital. |
rozayx5:This is exceptional. I think it is the model other governors should emulate. Have periods where you invest massively in infrastructure, then have a subsequent period where you raise human capital, devoting maximum resources to job creation. It is a healthier balance for development. |
Blue3k:Construction is not the problem. There are several seaports along the coast of Nigeria. Akwa Ibom is not an independent state. Like I have often said. Before embarking on any project learn from those who have tried before. To better their attempts and cut out their mistakes. |
Feraz:You will not understand. We have been over this issue several times over the past decade. I am not aware that anything has changed from the reports I get. |
otomatic:Government should not own any business. The furthest they should go will be non controlling equity or the whole thing will just get bogged down in typical government inefficiencies. |
jomonic:Even infrastructure should be targetted to areas of maximal return. Emphasis being placed on industrial parks/clusters that can be serviced efficiently. Make sure there is energy, roads, land, security and even factory spaces to lease to investors. Then link them to sources of raw materials, markets, the ports by road and rail. There is one of two kinds of investments a state like Akwa Ibom can pursue. Either bring in foreign (or local) companies looking to aggressively expand abroad or establish centres of excellence in specific products or services the state will wish to domimate into the future. Power is a big challenge in Nigeria. Why can't the state for instance look to establish a mega solar pv panel industrial complex in partnership with top industrial comcerns from China to service the entire needs of the west coast of Africa. A state can build an absolutely massive economy on one product alone if it is determined, committed and tenacious. |
gameboyo:The Feds will not listen to anything seaports outside Lagos. That has been made clear for a number of years now. |
[quote author=Turaki4Presiden post=56949216]No investors or factory will move into any state without adequate infrastructures, especially roads to enable them evacuate and move their products, materials and personnel with ease. Although, Udom can start attracting investors to the area with already good infrastructures , the Ibom tropicana comes to mind...he should ensure that place is finished without delay and modelled into places like Disney world in Florida, Sea and movie world here in Australia. That alone can generate huge income for the state with multiplier effect on hotels etc[/quote I totally agree with the poster you responded to after a long and hard thought. There comes a point when infrastructure investment should start to yield returns. This is ten years after Akwa Ibom started its developmental revolution. Now it the time to consolidate it. Infrastructure without returns has a widely known name. It is called 'white elephant'. As roads and bridges expand so is the requirement for operation and maintenance. Roads have to be cleaned, drains pigged, solar batteries replaced, so as street and traffic lights, buildings repaired and maintained you get up to a point (like Lagos did) 20 years ago when the entire budget could not maintain existing infrastructure and new ones were completely out of reach. What creates a development balance and sustains progress is an internal economy, taxes and levies to be specific. That was the promise Udom came in with if memory serves me right. To lay more emphasis on developing human capital. He should be more pro active in attracting both domestic and foreign investors. I suggest he creates a government department specifically for investment and industrialisation with a thicker budget than that for works, housing or water resources and first rate consultants. Then with the budget he can provide incentives to jump start key industries. I donot subscribe to the leisure sector as investment. Leisure becomes necessary when work is overwhelmimg else he ends up with another Tinapa. Industrialize first and the hotels and resorts will follow naturally. Akwa Ibom must start to develop its own economy to insulate it from the vagrancies of the turbulent oil regime. Slow down a bit on the roads and start to find the tax nairas that will maintain them or else... |
oodua1stson:That is history. It won't attract players like Ronaldo or Messi or Agùero or even washed up Yaya Toure to the club. Ajax today is no longer what it was in the 90's. It is a far far smaller club. They have a stadium alright but cannot pay decent wages or afford today's transfer fees. They have shrunk.....or the world of football has grown bigger than them. Big means big. I can name half a dozen teams that have won international trophies in the fifties you probably haven't heard about. Heck, Celtic just won the treble, the whole season unbeaten, 35 Scottish cups. Their trophy cabinet is massive, but in comparison to the best of Europe they are a small club. It reflects in the players, the valuation of the club and the revenues. By the way they fill their stadium like no other. |
Rapahel1116:That luck you say is good anticipation and situational awareness. It is one quality strikers must have. Yes, there is luck in all things but you must create the path for luck to follow. I think he should remain as a striker. He is not a Dybala type of player either. He does not have the strength to hold off defenders neither the stamina to carry the ball 30, 40 metres in close control. He is a one touch player who has good vision and finishing skills. What he needs is a good coach to enhance those qualities. Like Mikel losing his forward passing ability at Chelsea, Pep has successfully turned off Kelechi's shooting reflexes in favour of passing into the net style. That is why most of his goals for City are 6 yarders. But we all know he is as deadly as Argen Robben at thd edge of box 18. |
oodua1stson:Only Juventus there is bigger than Manchester City. If not why is Pep not coaching in anyone of those clubs together with Aguero and Silva. Will Yaya agree to play in Ajax. Or will Kevin de Bruyne wish to go to AC Milan because Van Basten played there. Abegi. If you are in doubt as to which clubs are big just ask the players. Check the top 100 players worldwide, share them amongst the clubs they play for and find out which club has the most players in the top 100. That is club size. Players are prime assets, not trophy cabinet. |
Bsc:Except for archive purposes and takeover tycoons there is no aspect of football that is played on the pages of history. Football is one unique sport that speaks of the NOW. Players, coaches, management rise and fall on current results, not historical accounts. Even the bank managers, investors, sponsors look at the last performance before doling out the cash. Are we surprised that United have fallen behind Real Madrid after dominating football rich list for years past. So a club can have a rich history and fall, shrink, wither and even die. In the fifties, sixties and seventies it was the likes of Nottingham Forest, Eintracht Frankfurt and others top in their countries and in Europe. Will you say these are top clubs. Will any player go to these clubs and say he is going to a top club. How about managers or sponsors. Will they consider themselves sponsoring st etienne as a former europe top team. Only takeover tycoons looking to get bargain deals for nostslgic reasons will buy into them. Ajax as a club has shrunk from the hey days of the 90's when UEFA regularly rated it in the top 5. It is no longer considered as a top club and classic characteristics include: The inability to attract and keep top talent in the form of players and managers that is, it engages only academy types or dutch retirees seeking to end their careers at the place of their birth. Second they sell to raise cash because sponsorship is thin. These are the 'small' clubs Kelechi should have gone to. Ajax, Benfica, Lisboa, Milan, Internazionale, Anderlecht. Clubs with rich pedigree but are too small to retain players on long term basis. Then his skills will be honed and he can be sure to be sold to the 'big' teams in due time. Starting your career with a club owned by a bilionaire sheikh seeking to win everything now now is a catastrophe. You will never be given time to adapt. Did you see the turnover of players under Jose when he first came to Chelsea. That is the pressure. Which green horn made it then....practically none. By the way, Juventus has grown back to what it was 30 years ago. There was a period the club floundered and was an outcast due to illegal activities. But since the Agnelli takeover it has grown back into a formidable force in Europe while its arch nemesis, Milan has shrunk to obscurity. Will you call Milan a big club..... na. I get am before no be property for football. Nigeria too is no longer a big footballing country. |
invisibeTroll:Most of them were academy players born into those clubs who's skills and philisophies were planted by those clubs. And all are original citizens of those countries. If you have noticed Nigerian players raised in Nigeria and Nigerian players raised abroad donot play the same way. Like when you are transiting schools across continents, most often you have to take a preliminary course or class to bring you up to speed. Only the exceptional percentile of players can cross footballing cultures and impact instantly at such a young age. He made a mistake going to City, period. Comparing him to the likes of Raul and Giggs instead of the best of africa like Drogba, Essien, Kanu, McCarthy, Abedi or Weah is just empty thinking..... apples and oranges if you ask me. The problem with blacks in general is that they donot study to achieve. If he had proper counselling he should have been led down the path of successful african exports with a view to 'bettering' what they did right and avoiding their pitfalls. But so often pride and greed will not permit absolute success. He just wasted two years for nothing. Wish him the best though. Great player in the making. |
Now the women folk should tell us what this is all about. Is this not the over sexualisation of society we talk about, that women cry victim of when it all goes south. Then it is the man's fault. Did anyone hold her at gun point to wear that and act that. No. Is she doing it to impress, attract, stimulate (or whatever) the ladies, no. Can she control the outcome of her acts, no. But when the consequences arrive, the men take all the blame. You will hear, 'they should have closed their eyes', 'why are men treating women as s.ex objects', 'women own their bodies not men...' bla, bla, bla...... and for men, no one will sue her for harassment now oh. When you then fall and comitt atrocities then you remember how 'she provoked you'. Society makes its people. That is why I am not surprised at what happens. Only pity the innocent who fall victims to se.xual predators like these. |
Commendable. Saves money. Generates jobs. A lot better than the Julius Berger phenomenon viz capital flight. |
