By 2019 everyone will be demystified. |
krokronyash:If you born pikin and 1 and half years later the pikin no fit waka, wetin you go call am abeg. How long does this government need then.... 16 years? |
kabman:That is what happens in every country, individuals build it. You are so used to rent seeking that you cannot imagine yourself contributing anything to the development of your country. What makes America. Is it not Bill Gates, Budweiser and Beyonce. Are they not the ones providing the pound, euro, yen and yuan to the American treasury. Nigerians are the major problem of this country. So ignorant. Feeding bottle generation. |
They just want him to shoo....keep quiet. |
godunia:I tell you. If we wait for a man without stain, government will not exist, simple. Everyone from the President down to the cleaners have abused their offices in time past or are doing so right now. |
doctokwus:Better just stop all this. There are no clean people in the civil service. Just make use of what you have or else forfeit the entire government. There is no one, absolutely no one clean in government. But we have to move forward. |
FinestPINACLE:This is exactly what happened. Everything else is garbage. Poor decisions on his part. Gynaecologists should always endeavour to keep both husband and wife in the loop. Find out she's married and seek husband consent for all and every course of treatment. They are all potential minefields. |
lielbree:Hmmm, could we be seeing the first salvo in the 2019 battle being fired. Buhari & Osibanjo v Tambuwal & Wike. Interesting times ahead ![]() |
I have no problem about this. It is a consumption tax. Saying operators close down because of this alone is not correct. It is only operators who cannot pass on the cost to their customers due to poor or uncompetitive products that will suffer. Nigerians should realise that in the absence of a real productive sector, taxation is one of the few areas left for government to mine. It is far better than oil reliance. |
Mylove55:So what you are saying in a nutshell is that Sanusi is wrong so the government should not take correction. What is different from the PDP government you cite then since everyone is right in his eyes. Lady, please wake up. If the government has been doing what was right from the get go, things should be getting better, not worse. It will soon be two years remember and oil prices have remained stable for a long time now. At worst the economy should be stabilizing now, not getting worse. If your salary has been cut by 60 percent since January 2015 and your situation is getting worse and worse by August 2016 then it is your management style of the little you get that should be questioned. That is what Sanusi is tasking. Not what government does not have but what it has. Stop these lazy excuses. Any dummy can shine with 100 dolar oil price and 2.5 million barrels of oil. |
Why should they. He offered sound advice. |
permanentgrace:These are slightly old pictures. The situation has improved beyond this but the quality of the work is no different from what has been done in the past. |
arsenic33:Those sections will have to be re-aligned. It is an old road, constructed in the 80's when requirements were not as intense. |
vivaciousvivi:Madam stop this rubbish. Go to Enugu state. Virtually all the highways constructed have drains. The Nsuka Enugu highway has drains. Onitsha - Owerri has up to 90% drains. Where you have have serious undulations (hills and valleys in series), where the soil is very unstable and subject to erosion and land slide and most importantly, where the alignment of the road is such that it runns parallel to high ground (a hill on one side and a valley on the other side) you must provide culverts and drains or just waste your money. Calabar - Itu Road has the added disadvantage of being a typical Niger - Delta road, that it has to contend with ground water. Lots of it. When comparing things use like items not just generic ones. Can you mention the roads abroad and the conditions they cope with. |
photoshoot:I travelled to Portharcourt on Sunday 21st and returned Tuesday 23rd. Left Calabar at 7am Sunday morning, arrived Eleme Petro at 3.30pm in the afternoon. Left Portharcourt Tuesday morning 8.am, arrived Calabar 3.15pm in the afternoon. Do you want my full itinenary and route coordinates on my GPS. I can download it for you. And for your information, I know this road in and out and have been plying it regularly since 2002. It is normally a 4 and a hour trip that is now 8 and a half hours when you factor in the failure at Ikot abasi as well. Who cares about Buhari's government. We are talking about a road here, you are talking politics. |
Slimflame:Hahaha. Now you know. Go to every government office in Nigeria, Army, Police, Customs, Airport Authority, Works, NNPC, Lands and on and on and it is deals and money making using the state apparatus. The higher you go the more zeros are added, secretaries to Ministers, everyone rent seeking and stealing. |
Strategically, if the governments wants to link the capitals of Rivers, Akwa-Ibom and Cross-Rivers it should complete the East-West Highway by linking Oron to Calabar instead of the Israelite wilderness journey presently. Or encourage the establishment of ferry companies to move passengers and cargo from Oron to Calabar. |
Oasis007:Just shut it if you know nothing about roads or that particular road. For your information that road has been worked on at various locations over the past five years. It is a difficult road to maintain because large sections are regularly flooded during the rainy season. The road passes through the Itu basin which is effectively below sea levels due to the surrounding hills. For that road rehabilitation to last drainage channels are mandatory so stop talking rubbish. I passed there twice last week. The job is being handled by 3 Basse and the work is no different from what Sermatech and the rest have been doing, very poor. Just dumping stones into the failed sections and running stone base over. Can that last more than a year. Abegi. |
Kano politics has always been fracticous right from time. This is the last place Godfatherism works. The dynamism there chews and spits out politicians like a meat grinder. Reputation and performance in history counts for nothing. Ask governor Abubakar Rimi. That's why it is the most progressive state in the north and has always had quality leaders. They don't follow sheepishly. Ganduje already has a big target painted on his back and the next hnt head is already lining up a kill shot. |
Abugab:I tell you. Very unintelligent. To attack a person for saying the truth is just stupid, quite frankly. I have a GLO line but my Etisalat line is my primary driver for both voice and data (due to quality and coverage). My personal needs and preferences donot diminish the fact that in telecoms I am not buying Nigeria and so I am guilty as charged. Instead of insulting the man my candid response will be to keep quiet if I donot have the mental capacity to merge the two important facts, that my progress and that of Nigeria are equally important. |
Will like to see them upgrade to become something like the US National Guard so that the armed forces are taken completely off the streets and away from civilian contact completely as it is in modern societies. |
vivalavida:Stop being silly. Must you bring prejudice into everything. |
What I find intriguing is the tacit reminder that another storm of extermist violence could be brewing. Could he be concerned that history will record that it started during fhe tenure of a President from the north of this country due to mismanagement of an already bad situation. He should expantiate what he means. He should talk straight. |
Everything said and predicted before, during and after the elections are playing out now. There are some folks worth reminding but they have not featured on this forum for weeks and months (except they have ditched their previous identities). It is good to be apolitical, neutral in the scheme of all things to remain relevant. This is what the likes of Sanusi strive to do. Tacitly admitting they have all made mistakes. First it was OBJ, now him, all striving to crawl back under the rocks of public refuge from the baking sun of socio-economic meltdown. |
Symptomatic of Nigeria and Nigerians. Collosal wastefulness. |
By now in the life of the Obama regime he had rolled out the much talked about bailouts to banks, autos and housing. By the end of his first term the auto industry was back, almost all the banks has repaid the bailout funds and the housing market was showing signs of recovery from one of the worst recessions in US history and a disatrous George Bush tenure. This is not even the worst economic period we have witnessed but what is this government doing to reverse our fortunes apart from waiting for oil prices to recover. Is there absolutely nothing this nation can do to rescue itself. This is funny oh. |
Meanwhile Presco has back orders up to 2017 and Nigerians cannot connect the dots. We as a people are so useless. Nothing I can say. My economy is detached from Nigeria's because my mentality is so different. If we cannot connect the dots we deserve every suffering we experience. Can you imagine if this scenario played out in China, they will ĺive out the poverty until they meet sufficiency. We on the other hand are not hardworking and weak willed. Let those out of jobs go get the palm oil and those companies out of business invest in palm oil production, simple. You will be surprised that local oil palm producers are complaining of low sales and low prices. Nigeria is such a wierd country. |
tunde1200:As a moderate you have your work cut out. Bad news sells and a single fly ruins the whole ointment. I think people of similar faith who donot share this extreme ideology should be more vocal in expressing their disagreements TO THOSE WHO COMIT THESE ACTS and not just to the victims and neutrals. Take for instance there is a peaceful counter demonstration 'in due time', it will go a long way to assure individuals and the community that the situation is an exception. But I suspect even the moderates are as fearful and anxious as the deviants and infidels. The terror is real. One message I have for these extremists; violence solves nothing. It never has and never will. If murdering blasphemers works, why does blasphemy continue. |
PaulIdu:I really don't want to say it but the irony of it all is that the northern lady (from the general area where the theatre is located) was 'settled' leaving the 'southern' lady to continue the battle. To make matters worse the appointee was given a post not territorial to the north but one which will keep her well away from Sambisa, but at the coastline of Nigeria. Sometimes you just wonder....how these things be. |
LORDOFAFONJAS:No wahala. They should commandeer his cement and use it for infrastructural development, his sugar, salt and noodles to IDP camps and his trucks to take them there until his bill is settled, shikena. |
free2ryhme:Don't mind him. Is there an injunction against name calling. Shows they are weaker than the folks they are meant to police but in usual style I suspect that the AMCON bigwigs don't want to muddle the waters they intend to drink from. Crying wolf on the pages of the dailies is just like adding yeast to the dough. Abeg make dem siddon. Publishing your failings for whose sympathy instead of thinking outside the box. Al-Capone the untouchable was finally arrested for tax fraud when nothing else would stick. If they are sincere they will find a way to get that money. |
Very soon people living and working in public buildings will be mandated to buy insurance, 'special life cover for death from collapsing buildings'; with discounts available for loss of limbs, falling debris and incarceration for days awaiting rescue. Nigeria.... |
