efficiencie: Does it matter what "you people" call a lady? Does it matter for how long she will last in her marriage? Does it matter whether she will be married at all? I strongly believe one thing. No hardworking, sincere and godly man will put anything but character, purpose and destiny ahead as a criteria for choosing a spouse. Why will I pay bride price, dole out money for wedding and drain my finance on setting up for family all for a lady who will spread her legs for a neighbor who didn't even buy her bottle water as a gift during her wedding... If you are a good thing, an asset, a blessing as a lady, men will fall over themselves to marry you and you would sieve the chaff from the wheat and get into a blissful marriage! Like I said, whoever you marry, and I add, whether you marry at all, is your business, not mine. |

coker007: So last night my younger brother and I got talking about life, religion and progress, Most times I'm the one leading the conversations; we'll talk about some of the things listed above and i'll share my ideas ( I'm an introvert I don't enjoy talking) So yesterday he (my younger brother) struck a topic on the parable of the workers in the vineyard ( it's in Mathew chapter 20) and our convo took off from there, we got talking about our belief our hopes our loss and our aspirations Like I said earlier I'm usually the one speaking most times but it turned out my brother had a lot to say He was talking about he's aspirations and how he would like to find his passion and all when the topic turned changed and we got talking about ideas and he started talking about this big business plan that may a may it may not be the future but you could sutrly tell it's huge he was talking when suddenly he was like ' I can't be telling you my plans' and he stood up and left me there....I was heart broken and confused My younger brother and I both Live together we both work and I'm mostly the one offering things up for our benefit, I share everything I'm able to lay my grasp on equally with him I fancy myself as fair and loyal But it turns out my brother is keeping things from me when we are at a time when we need each other the most, he's being discreet while I lay all my cards on the table for both of us I've come to the conclusion that he's selfish and he'll betray me when the time comes But what i'm hurting about is my feelings itsi making me very indecisive and anxious I really don't know what to do or how to react I need opinions, advice and instructions
P.S: I purposely didn't talk about my parents and other siblings we are detached from them on purpose. We took the train pass for ride or die, but it turns out my younger brother isn't really on board he's tryna pull a front here That is good for you man, I'm always happy when people show me what I mean to them, it shows me where to place them in my own life. Start spending your money for your own progress and don't tell anyone your own plans if they are not ready to tell you theirs. |

sweetiliciouz: please do not ever say women are at fault ,how about men ? my mom divorced my dad and yes am in support of her divorcing him after 23 years ,imagine a man telling a lie to a 20 year old lady that he has certificates (studied architecture ,lied about his age and so many other things ) ,just for my mom to discover after bn married to him that they were all lies ,if not that she is a graduate of chem eng which has been helping her ,I swear life will be difficult. my dad right from when I was born till date and that of my siblings he has never paid a dime on us (school fess ,food upkeep ,any other thing ) all he does is to fold his legs. mom paid her labour bills for I and my siblings ,d house we live in mom built it and all d furnitures in it she bought them ,she gives him money for different business (huge sums and all he does is to bet naija or sell some furnitures in the house or fold his legs ) I can't even state all what he has done but please do not say women are the issue .....if not for my mom I wouldn't be a graduate ,I and my siblings won't go to school , father doesn't call ,if I ask him he will say borrow from your friends na, ... can u imagine that!!? Thousands of women were deceived into marriage, its a sad fact. Every marriage based on lies is null and void. Once you find out the lie, you are entitled to walk away, but, you will find yourself getting tagged a divorcee, such a woman has to be strong. Please advise every unmarried woman you meet to do background checks on any man she has intentions of marrying. Run away from liars. You don't need anyone to tell you to be a strong woman, to pursue your dreams whether you have a husband on the way or not. That said, do not get ruffled by these boys saying women are the problem, most likely, they grew up in horrible homes, hence their skewed opinions. |

efficiencie: My question is: why are women so unfortunate to ever agree to marry such a person? why do women almost never focus on the content of character in their choice of a spouse? why do women fall for very frivolous things and not the core aspects of a persons psyche? This is the question ladies need to answer sincerely. Yes, there are young males raised in terrible environments (so are most young females today) but why do ladies settle to marry without considering character as the foremost criterion? I will not give excuses for women who refuse to do their homework because they want to be the first among their friends to get married. the Nigerian society being the way it is (thanks to people who perpetrate cycles of bad actions and perceptions concerning women throughout every generation), these women just jumped into the fray, without discernment, because they do not want to be the laughing stock, they want to be the ones laughing. So, here it goes: Selfishness Conceit Ego Carelessness Pride Desire to be the Ultimate Woman, to have it all, at an early age (you people will call her evening newspaper if she doesn't get married early) etc, etc. |

bukatyne: What does the bolded mean?
Why should a lady want to suffer like your mother?
What makes you think a mother wants her daughter to suffer what she did? Imagine this scenario, a boy, while growing up, witnessed continuous mistreatments meted out by his Dad- in form of infidelity, physical and emotional abuse, witholding finances and sex until his will is done-on his Mom. His mom, being financially dependent on his dad, stayed put in the marriage. This boy while growing up has glorified suffering, he believes that a woman who continues enduring suffering is a virtuous woman who prioritize marital stability over everything else, including her own peace of mind. Once he reaches adulthood, this boy/man, metes this same treatment on every woman he meets, as a litmus test to ascertain if that woman is a virtuous woman like his mother. Since he doesn't know a better way to treat women (his dad is his automatic role model). Once those ladies walk away, he generalises that modern girls are bad, they are not virtuous like his mom. Thousands of men/boys are like this, and some women will be unfortunate enough to come across them, even marry them. |
