Authority1o1:
Okay...

Recently, I found myself getting more interested in understanding the human emotion. Superficial knowledge on some subjects in Affective Science has been helpful, but hasn't satisfied my quizzes.

Envy is a dangerous emotion. When it comes, impale it, lest it transcends to jealousy. You weren't born to take a life, you didn't even resolve to it, but these emotions will overpower you and hand you a saber. They're things of the mind, and the mind is in control of you.

Again, downplay your achievements if you must. You don't want to arouse envy; you don't want to end up watching your back forever.
You can't downplay your achievements. You've always prayed to be successful and now that success has come, you want to downplay it. How exactly? Because I know you can't light a candle and use a clay pot to cover it.

The point is that succeeding with life isn't just about living a good life but having wisdom. Wisdom is the keyword when it comes to dealing with men. You don't have to trust anyone. You don't have to believe in anything. You just have to be careful with all things. Sometimes you may have to reject opportunities. Other times, you may have to be indisposed.

For example, an old school friend got my number from my sister last December and then called me. I wanted meeting with him but before then I had to find out from one or two persons how's his life now because it's been years we meet. These people told me he's now a bad boy and I chose not to meet with him again. I don't know if any good can come out from sitting with such a fellow. Even though we were close friends way back in school, I had to use my head before the story ended with regrets.

In this life, if you can't use your head, whatever your achievement may be can be erased within seconds.

Oyinbos used to think like this until they applied their God given brains to observe, document and analyse behaviours for scientific and medical solutions that we unevolved blacks pay for with our miserable small coins thereby going deeper into extreme poverty.
Does it not remind you of Jesus Christ’s parable of talentshuh
No one's dismissing talent or science. But you should know that even science is highly limited. If the so-called Oyinbos were so good in research and all, COVID-19 wouldn't be killing them like fowl and threatening everyone.

So, before you feel they're so good with finding solution to every human problem, ask yourself why they've not been able to find a solution to a COVID-19 or even HIV/AIDS that's as old as man now. If you feel everything is about science and the intellect then you have a long way to go.

I'm still challenging you to get in touch with this guy and have a hard talk with him about when his woes started and you'll be shocked that it's not just about using science methods to find a solution to a problem.

I believe in science and I also believe in the operation of the spirit. Science may be a able to manage a problem but the root of that problem most times, go beyond science. Deal with that!

Why not a scientific/medical/psychological solutionhuh
They won't work because the problem here is highly unnatural. This person must have done something that opened him up for a demon that's tormenting him right now. No one can suddenly begin to develop urges for dead bodies. There's something that he meddled into that triggered this evil urges. The truth is that he needs deliverance else he'll keep living a frustrated life.

This might sound weird but I'm turned on when I see dead women. I find them attractive. I've masturbated to many dead women in movies and graphic pictures on the internet of random dead women, even here on Nairaland. I need some help. Sex with living women is boring and I lose erection. To sustain erection I have to think of them dead.

I need some advice.

Car was parked for 10 months toyota camry 2009 XLE V6 .. the first day I drove it, noticed the AC is blowing hot air ... I immediately went for a refill , after the refill, the Cold air wasn't top notch, also the drivers vent was blowing warm air , but the other vents was blowing cold air ... The AC guy suggested my valve wasn't good , he suggested I should drive it around for a day and give him feedback, a day later all the vents started blowing hot air , I went back to his garage he removed the radiator and Condenser , he checked the Compressor , from his diagnosis he said the compressor is bad .. that it's turning almost at will ( free will) ... He suggested I should change the compressor and condenser also the valve. .. he suggested manual Compressor , that the Automatic compressor will pack up real soon .... When we went to buy the Automatic compressor like I insisted , on getting to the Tokunbo shop , the sellers said they won't give me any warranty for the compressor, it's at owners risk ... Please what's you guys suggestions What happened to my Ac is it a packed up Compressor Should I go about getting the manual Compressor fitted
I'm not a technician but I've had a problem with my AC before and it sounds similar to mine.

If the compressor still engages the engine when you put on the AC, then the problem may not come from there but the Evaporator. Ask the technician to remove the Evaporator and take it for test to see if it still works.

Usually, they'd deep the Evaporator inside clean water with the nozzles outside and then pump air into it while blocking the other side. If you see bubbles coming out from the water, then the Evaporator is bad, else it's working fine.

The Evaporator is located under the dashboard so the whole of that steering area would have to be dropped.

If you wish to try this option, please work with a highly competent technician and be around to monitor the process.

EducationRe: I’m Not Happy With My Grade, What Should I Do? by samuelson06(m): 12:27am On Dec 14, 2021
Generally, I've come to realized that you'll hardly get what you want in life as you planned in your heart. Trust me, you'd hardly get them. Nature simply present to us what pleases her and many times if you go with the flow, you don't regret it. But if you try to struggle, you may just end up regretting everything.

Many students don't usually end up studying the course they had in mind. They just find themselves studying something else and they continue and finish up nevertheless. And many times, those that fight hard to study a particular course or try to force their choices to happen don't usually get to finish well. Sometimes, the course they studied in school seems to be irrelevant for them in life.

You don't necessarily need to study the exact course you had in mind to become successful in life. The ultimate thing you need in life is to be educated. Education would help you to succeed in life, but education in itself can't guarantee you success. It's only an enabler and not the real thing.

What education does is to make you become aware. Once you become aware, you can take advantage of opportunities and situations. For example, Nigeria today may appear so bad to many because there are limited opportunities but at the same time, there are people that are massively taking advantage of the state of Nigeria. And I mean common people that are not in government.

In this country, there are poor medical doctors. There are poor lawyers as well as poor engineers. Why are you disturbing yourself that you are studying a course you don't like? Sometimes, those that attempt to leave the country to go study one super course abroad end up perishing there. Why then are you worrying about what ought not to be worried about?

Life would not always give you what you wanted but you can always make the best of every situation. Education is the key and not because you studied one course in the university. Take note that education transcends university education.

Take it or leave, regardless of what you study in school, Nigeria as a country has nothing to offer you at the end of the day. You fight and get what you want. No course in any Nigeria university can promise you a safe landing.

My advice to you is to continue studying that course. Make the best of it and come out great. Have this mindset of getting educated instead of studying any particular course that you love. You'll be wasting your time starting all over again because you don't like the course.

What more? There's time in your hand now that you are still in school, use it wisely. Like someone has said, start acquiring digital skills (e.g., software development, web development, writing skills, etc.). Don't ever think that Nigeria can offer you something because you studied one wonderful course. Don't also think that leaving the country may be a better option.

Make the best of your youthful years. Spend quality time learning. Get educated and grounded in matters of life.

All the best.

FreeStuffsNG:
I am 100% sure you did not comprehend my conciliatory approach while investigation is on. In your mob mentality, the school is rejoicing now at the death of a student.
The problem is that most of you have never built anything and in every issue, all you see is nail so the best option to solve it is hammer.
I am sure that you probably didn't attend a good school enough to stand by it even when they falter in a very regrettable manner this school just did.

Again, at the risk of sounding like a broken disc, my message is to every Dowen Alumni out there, not you.
If you are Dowen Alumni, stand with your alma mater and share your condolence with the bereaved family because you equally lost a prospective member of your group of Alumni.
Offering support to your alma mater has nothing to do with the investigation and possible prosecution of anyone indicted. It is your school, stand by it against the mob.

Some of them will do same to their alma mater.
Dowen College is someone's business. It's the responsibility of the business owner to manage it well.

The matter here is very simple: produce the culprits and let the law take its course. Instead, they shielded them. Which alumni would be happy with that except the person is evil?

I'm not writing to pull them down but if the law sees it fit that they should go down because the essence of their existence is defeated, so be it. You can't be running a business that causes more pains than good to others. Murder is a serious crime and anyone committing or supporting it should be made to face the law like in the case of of Dowen management.
EducationRe: Police Seal Off Dowen College (Pictures) by samuelson06(m): 4:50pm On Dec 05, 2021
FreeStuffsNG:
They will rise up again.I honestly don't believe any school will be happy to have any of its student dead especially in a tragic controversial manner. They obviously will learn a big lesson from this unfortunate incident and never make any lapses ever again.

Dowen has a strong human resource in its alumni, I am wondering why members of Dowen Alumni are quiet and so much scared to tell the world if this unfortunate incident completely erases the legacy of the education Dowen gave them. I remember A Hall had a similar experience but their Alumni stood by their school and was part of those who ensured A. Hall did not die with that unfortunate incident. Today it's the turn of your alma mater.

If you are a parent who Dowen helped raise your child to be the great person he or she is today or you are a product of Dowen ,it's time to stand with your alma mater and assure the public that you are with the bereaved family too.Get involved in the resolution of the issue. This is a tough time for your alma mater and if Dowen didn't kill you throughout your stay there, why then will Dowen now want to kill that beautiful soul?

It's unfortunate. I pray that God console the bereaved family. It's really tough but putting all the blame on the school is not unexpected in unfortunate incidents like this.
Stop sounding like an unfortunate person. Even if I graduated from there, I'd never stand with them. A school is supposed to be a place where great minds are raised in character and otherwise.

How did cultism begin to form in a secondary school and then grew to a level that the students have the boldness of forcing another student to join them yet the management are not aware? Is school supposed to be about only teaching, especially for a boarding school where parents entrust their wards into the hands of the school management?

Dowen College may be a great place to learn but if they end up producing children that are only intelligent and lacking in character then they've failed. How big are the children there that they can't instill discipline in them?

To make matters worse, they are even abetting the evil that the students committed. Instead of pushing forward the culprits to face justice, they shielded and helped them to escape and here you are saying the school's alumni should come to their defense. You must be mad.
