There is nothing like a 'ban on withdrawal' as pointed out by MMM. No deposit was made in the first place. You only paid into someone's account. There is nothing like, all accounts 'frozen'.....There was nothing to 'freeze'.....What basically happened was that, the obligations that are due, exceed the current inflows. In other words, by robbing Peter to pay Paul, there will always be a problem when there is no Paulina to pay Peter...this is what MMM is currently facing. By paying 30%, and 10% to people, the system has created deficits that is probably in billions of naira. Getting new idiots to pay is now an issue.

I thought that the accounts were "frozen" because of the deficit you described, but people kept claiming to have provided help afterwards.

For a something to be tagged Ponzi scheme, it must be a business or investment which promise an unreasonable huge return on money invested. E.g. Banking, investment company, Insurance, capital market etc.

MMM promises 30% per month, which is equivalent to 2230% per annum. That's clearly an unreasonably huge return on money invested. On top of this they offer the Referrer's bonus, Guider's bonus, bonus for testimonials, etc. It's clearly an unsustainable scheme.

MMM is none of this, going through their website, I couldn't find where it was written as an investment organization

Any scheme that accepts money from people with the expectation that the money will grow and they will collect a greater amount later is an investment scheme, whether the website admits it or not. And if the returns are paid for by new investments, it's a Ponzi scheme.

Finally, in MMM you cannot lose money because ...

Tell that to the people who are crying and threatening to commit suicide; those who borrowed money to "provide help" to Chuddy and co.

The only thing different about MMM is the non-centralization. This just makes it a peer-to-peer ponzi scheme, which can't be shut down easily.

I've seen my pastor prayed for someone who wanted to go for operation. After the prayers she went to the hospital for check up after her body was completely healed (for confirmation), the doctor told her that somehow her system went back to normal.

There are many possibilities. (1) Some diseases can go away on their own when you rest and eat well. You have a sophisticated immune system which protects your body constantly. You get sick when the immune system fails. Sometimes this is due to stress, and resting solves it. Sometimes it just takes a while for your immune system to figure out how to kill the pathogens (that's why immunization is so important). (2) The doctor might have misdiagnosed her initially. What was the nature of her illness? We can do some research to find out what happened.

When sick people are prayed for, some get better and some do not. When sick people are not prayed for, some get better and some do not. It's exactly the same outcome, which shows that prayer is a total and complete waste of your time. Praying for sick people does nothing for them. Perhaps God exists. Perhaps He can heal people. If so, then prayer is not his mechanism for healing. You could argue that God heals through science-based medical treatments or through the body's natural immune system, but there's no objective evidence that prayer heals anybody.

It's difficult for pentecostal Christians to accept this because of (1) The cheap psychological "miracles" that they experience all the time, such as speaking in tongues and falling under the anointing. (2) Testimonies, which consist of coincidences, exaggerations, and positive confessions.

Because prayer does nothing for anybody. The people who are "healed" are those who would have been "healed" without prayer. Simple as that.

Would you be able to select the pictures of the man and woman you thought you saw in your dream from a collection of 100 random pictures of men and women of the same age? I doubt it. Assuming that the person you "knew" the vision was about had said that his parents were happily married, you would have interpreted the vision as a sign that their marriage is in danger of being broken up by the wife. People are subject to something known as "confirmation bias". We notice the things that fit our beliefs and ignore or forget the things that don't.

2. "WILL HAVE TO BE independently verified by scientists" is assuming the omnipotence of scientists. Have you heard of the scientific breakthrough where Spirits are spotted- like a spirit detector?

Scientists are not infallible but they have developed the most successful system for figuring out what is true. I would also involve magicians because they deceive people ethically for a living, so they are very good at spotting unethical deception. If it's a trick, they'll figure it out.

Experiences are subjective. For example, a God appearing to me in a dream won't convince me because things that are not real appear in my dreams all the time. I'd just wake up and immediately forget the dream. The evidence will have to be independently verified by scientists.

If a God wants us to devote our lives to worshipping Him, the least He could do is to make His existence as clear as the existence of the sea.

When people draw cartoons of God, muslims don't care, but when they draw cartoons of the Prophet, muslims get angry and start killing people. To a non-muslim, it would appear as if muslims love the Prophet more than they love God, which is very surprising. What's really going on?

I don't believe any God exists. I will believe it when someone can provide me with reliable, reasonable, objective evidence that a God exists. Just as you don't believe that Wonder Woman exists, but if she shows up in public to demonstrate her existence, you'll probably change your mind. You live your life without being worried about whether or not Wonder Woman loves you, though you can't prove that she doesn't exist.

2. If you answer to 1. above is "I don't know" "Can you a human know whether or not God exist?"

We know that a God who wants everyone to know that he exists doesn't exist. If such a God existed, he would've provided very clear evidence.

Do you have the basis/grounds to say "This is how to prove the existence of God" since you don't know what this entails?

If a God existed and wanted us to know that He existed, we wouldn't need to stumble about trying to prove his existence. He'd prove it to us!

It is possible that a God exists but hasn't provided objective evidence because He doesn't want us to disturb Him. Why not grant him His wish?
