Just to clear the tension in the house,i was at this interview in enugu so i ðø not see anything abnormal in this list been delayed till now.......Nigeria Army Direct Short Service Commission DSSC selection interview is scheduled to hold at Headquarters 82 Division Nigerian Army Enugu from 4-17 September 2011.

Nigerian Army DSSC Shortlisted Candidates for Interview 2011
General Instructions to Candidates:

1.) Candidates are required to report on 4th September 2011 for the interview with the following:

Writing materials including ruler and eraser.
2 pairs of white vests (unmarked)
2 pairs of navy blue shorts.
Canvas shoes/trainers and white socks.
Toiletries.
Set of cutleries (including plates and drinking cup)
Bedding to include blankets, white bedspread and pillow case.
Candidates are to bring their current medical report including ECG from any government certified hospital.
Four (4) copies of full size colour photographs in standing position and in suit.
2.)  The selection board will involve physical, medical and academic test. There will   also be an oral interview for the candidates

3.)  Candidates will be required to produce original and photocopies of the following:

a)  All academic/professional certificates (including degree/HND, WASC/GCE or equivalent, testimonials, NYSC Discharge or valid Exemption Certificate as applicable, Primary School Leaving Certificates as applicable and a file jacket).
b) Valid birth certificate as endorsed by the National population Commission, hospital, Local Government Council of birth or valid age declaration.
c) Valid certificate of state of origin.
d) Military Official Identity Card (for Service Personnel).
e) Letter of recommendation by the commanding officer for military personnel.
f) Letter of sponsorship for military personnel.
4.)  Candidates will be fed and accommodated for the duration of the interview.

5.)  Candidates will be responsible for their transportation to and from the interview venue.

6.)  The use of private vehicle will not be allowed throughout the duration of the interview.

7.)  Visitors will not be allowed throughout the duration of the interview

@silna..sublieutenant 285k? That's like lt col salary o. I want to assume he his probably a medical doctor as a sub lt. Even if na dr sef, dnt think the diff is that much.Airforce/navy/army have the same salary structure. There is nothing like a lieutenant earns 185k in army, and a sub lt earns 285k in navy or flying officer in airforce.

guy let me correct ur impression,it is only the army that doesn't pay w£ll and that is mostly because of corruption, a sub leutenant(leutenant equivalent in the army) collects 285k per month which competes w£ll with most jobs U mentioned but i prays the army too have a change of heart.

dmajesticjoe: NA uses machine while NN process manualy, dats wat makes d difference. We wrote d NN exam with tradesmen/women bt they are done wif screening. Get flexible man, it will not always go d way u want it, we work with common sense and info not what we wish should happen

did they just announce exam date for tradesmen and non tradesmen and the NN? U are the one that needs to be flexible here and reason like a man

General officer commanding...a Major general,he has a lot of units under is command. i wonder how u expect him to give letter of identification to soldiers serving in diff barracks. sorry..there are better things piled up on his table, than to be giving soldiers letter of identification. that is the OC/CO/commander's job.

i think you are the one that did not Get what he said,though the issue of navyblue shirt and white short must have been a mistake,but you will be asked to ðø medicals on your own to know if you are fit before coming.so also the letteer from Goc if U can take time to read again he said for serving personnel which is right so i dnt knw why U are crucifying him,and all those things he listed are wot will be listed wen the list comes out.

fetok: well,the issue is dat NA wanted to shortlist without any exam as they use to yearly,but the Senates ask NA to provide criteria{e.g exam} for shortlisting just to ensure transparency.NA find it difficult to organise exam cos it has not been her tradition.
Gentlmen,With all these,anytin may happen,exam may be organised or not.
Also,intake this year ll be d largest in history of NA.

dmajesticjoe: That info sounds authentic, 200 per state 4 exam is very possible, ofcourse Navy shortlisted more than that. Infact that is exacctly what I've always been told and looking at this analysis, it may be true. Sallah is next weekend after which Navy is expected to commence screening which will last 4 two weeks and they will not like to clash. We should also knw that Army just acquired marking machine which they used on tradesmen/women and Non tradesmen/Women. Looking at all these, i think that info is Authentic

not true emmanuel,your years starts counting from the day ur name comes out on the final list,its bck dated if U are commissioned and now its even 5years before U are promoted to captain from leutenat,my bro wuz commisioned 2011 and his name wuz shortlisted 2010 and he will be captain next year plus i have other senior officers as cousin and friends.

Everyone has a right to his own opinion. i wonder why you have to tell someone he needs deliverance cos he said he has been trying for 15yrs. it is very possible, the guy said NDA/DSSC you can try NDA before you get into uni and also all tru ur years in uni if you have real passion for the job. then you start counting from how many times you have tried after uni. it is very possible the guy has tried 15times. he said he had 5 maj gens and his name was not shortlisted...its just a lesson for us, that if God does not nod at it, you can have COAS behind you, and something else will just come up and hinder you. IF ECG is what keeps knocking you out, my brother just quit...its just a sign your heart cant go through the vigorous training. we hear storries of people collapsing and dying during training. the just commissioned ssc, a guy died while serving punishment for not meeeting up the time for running 15km. his heart probably failed no one knows. please prospective officers, lets apply caution and start learning to be seasoned officers right from here

you are right guy but i also wnt U to knw one thing that the. Issue of dssc is more competitive than having 5mjor generals and you think is. Just a go for you,even a captain n might have the power to help than a general.

N pumpin: Some candidates get on merit if their profession have few entries, or if is highly sought after like those in medicals. Coz the military also need to balance all profession in the recruitment less they mess up the balance of their formation
