I don't even know what the poster meant by "Black" even within Nigeria there are different tribes and cultures. so which in particular are you asking about. |
which one be igbomina? it is igbo people we dey Minna state Abi wetin? ![]() |
it is called tradition. it doesn't have to make sense why is there but is there to stay. if you are a women and igbo, you may just pack your bags an go to your husbands to be place without your bride price being paid. You will find out that will not have any respect from him and his people as time goes on. |
@poster Why do I feel like this ur guy wanted a reason to break up with you. I mean he couldn't even tell you in person? Abi his parents told him not to meet with you or tied his legs? If his parents says no! with the relationship in the first place, they won't be agreeing to "just" meet with you. For what now? Nigerian parent dont succumb that easily unless of course your guy agrees with them right from the get go but convienced them to meet you outta courtesy since he agreed against the relationship. you might get real answer by talking to his friends or relative that you are close to. |
Yes! preferebly "Igbo" |

Ha!! nawa for all of you wee think sey man go go banckrupt after Igbo traditional Marriage. single girls like us still dey ooh, i no wan make my guy come for this thread come change im mind oooo Una don't forget sey traditional Marriage no be criteria anymore as long as you pay the dowry to the father of the bride in front of their Umunna? if you decide sey u wan do Trad. wedd. you fit do am according to what you are willing to spend or afford. After all no be you we go print invitation card? if you invite 10 people, na only the rice and akpu wey de 10 people go chop you go spend for. Bottom line to all the guys, make sure that you don't get engaged to "a want it all girl" becuase if you do, you will be sweating when spending for the church wedding even if una no do traditional wedding. ka eme sia nu ![]() |
@ ikeyman00 Ah ah!!! just because someone does not share your view doesn't guarantee authomatic insult like "stupid Nigerians" I quite I agree with you though because I wake up everyday and thank God that I was raised in Naija. Not to say that people who are raised here are no good but being raised in Naija gives me (personally) a sense of self and the courage to handle life difficulties maturely while keeping my sanity. I love to love that I have a "Culture" I can call my own. As such, I will make sure that my children learn my language and visit naija when we can afford it. My opinion sha. Kapish!!!!! |

shouldn't the amount these bank pays depend on the position one occupy? I mean when you say 2mil for entering level does that mean to a first time manager or a receptionist? no wonder these banks folds and swallows people money. |
@ Fire, the first post sounded as if you and your boss are both single. Now that you confirm that he is married, Runnnnnnn make you no put assunder to what God has Join togetherooooo. you might end up hurting yourself and blame it on all men. no talk say nairalanders no warnnnnnn youoooooooh @Amobi 1 oh boy, I am ashemed of your first comment more especially becuase it came from an Igbo boy like you. Mr inteligent, eme chu na anyi bu ndi igbo anya biko. |
Good for you dear. Halleluya |
I left home to US couple of years ago and I left as a teen so I didn't really have the opportunity to hassle for University or job in Naija. but I have been laughing my butt off with all the various experiences. Here in The US, WA to be precised, first impression is highly important but not as important as what we call probationary period. within this first 3 month period, you are not suppose to make any mistakes at what you do. if you do, you will be Fired!!!! regardless of how your interview went. They emphasize that you know the history of the company and have experience. the previous job experience doesn't have to be a paid but could be acquired through volunteering. So instead of waiting months searching for employment, we might wanna get a volunteer at your related field while you are searching and almost every company hires volunteers. Another thing that helped me secure a job while I am still in College is that I spoke from the heart. you can never go wrong when you listen from your heart. I work in a five star hotel as a receptionist. Even though that my long time goal is not to be in hotel business since I am in medical field, I told my director during the interview that being a receptionist will help me with my communication skill and i love to meet and learn from diffeernt people and as medical student I need this skill to communicate efficiently with my patient and their families. He smile and told me to go and do a drug test (which is require so that they know you are not junkie) I passed my 3month probation and have been there for 3years while I am still pursing my degree. ![]() |
