Guys, just take a look at this 100% IELTS score... While I am wowed by it and not surprised at his scores based on his track records from his WAEC days... It saddens me that a talent like this is also making strides to leave Naija. It's just another indication how failed this country is and how talents leaving daily.

Between Feb 2019 and June 2019, I went for several interviews but didn't land any job offer. Na so I enrol for a 8 months (2 semester) Project Mgt post graduate course at least to receive some OSAP benefits and qualify for free child care. The plan had been that I will do 9-5 while hubby do his self employed runs like in Naija, but God turned it around. By June 2019, we say make hubby try apply. I was d one who did his resume and applied for a technical consultant role, na so baba get the job o (1st job application, 1st interview) . Me, I waited till I finished school in April 2020 before I started trying again to apply. Na so I get two offers as a IT Business Analyst, same level I was back home.
I want to thank the seniors on this platform who encouraged us to land in GTA despite the competition for IT jobs with the indians. We have really enjoyed our stay and winter not to bad here.
Also, to the glory of God we bought our house 1 year after landing. OSAP funding joined with POF savings helped. We never wanted Brampton, but Brampton isn't bad at all.. Especially if one is lucky to get a relatively new settlement. Our story gives encouragement to newcomers and I cannot overemphasize the power of connection. The Nigerians we met in our church really tried in giving us information on how to make quick progress here. Even though we never planned to attend a Naija church, the harmony in this particular medium sized church is amazing.

Let me close by looking for small trouble :

When I was sharing in the landing gist that we experienced some discrimination at the Frankfurt airport, both of u open teeth like say u know Oyinbo people that well. George Floyd and Jacob Blake are only 2 of the numerous killings... Direct and systemic racism still very much around. But through it all, we overcome.

Everyone is qualified in his or her own way. I applied for EH and I have 10years in the banking industry and a doctorate degree in Economics. We are all qualified bro.

Hello house, please how long did it take them to get a letter of non indebtedness ready for you for those who used Ecobank as proof of funds account?
It's been two weeks of going there everyday now and my letter of non indebtedness is still not ready. They said they have to send it to the Anambra branch where I opened the account and then their headquarters for verification before sending it back to Ibadan branch where I requested for it.
Please who else experienced this with Ecobank?

Last year NNPC recruitment , the same role I applied for as EH was applied for in Mobil . I was shortlisted in Mobil but NNPC no show.

How is EH recruitment done in this industry?

My wife was pregnant when we got ITA, because of the pregnancy we wasted time deliberating on how she would do medical/x-ray with the pregnancy. Then covid-19 took us unawares. Thankfully, ircc said we can submit our applications with incomplete documents. So we submitted without doing medicals. When the baby arrives we notified ircc and also got international passport and all other Requirements and uploaded. The baby was added to our application when he was two months old.

You can go ahead and submit you Application. For pregnant women, I hear they can still do x-ray, a lead cover will be given to protect the day from reaching the baby.

Good evening Seniors in the House, I overheard a conversation between an agent now and his potential client who is interested in Canada PR processing either through EE or other pathway.
The man is 55years and wife is 51 years old.
Children - 24yrs, 21yrs, 18yrs etc.
Now the agent told the man that they are not eligible due to their age but one of the Children can stand in as Principal Applicant PA especially the 24years old child, The child will be PR and after the application is successful, the father, mother and other family will be dependent.

Abeg, is this information True?

The child who has age on his side plus a post graduate degree will have very high chance of getting ITA, settle in Canada and sponsor his parents.
Better still, if the parents are boxed up, there are investment routes to permanent residency in Canada, I think Quebec offers such.

This thing about people saying it is easy to get some jobs in Canada. Well it might be, but don’t forget they will consider Citizens, PRs and those that have studied in Canada first. If a citizen or PR can as well do what you can do, as an outsider, they won’t really consider you. Also there are many people globally competing and applying to jobs in Canada too and hoping.

But no harm applying and applying tho just don’t have high expectations so that it doesn’t lead to frustration.
