@debosky
the guy is making a point here. what he says is a fact in Nigerian that the average graduate undergoes a lot of work related stress that is tantamount to slaving for your boss.

Business / So Much For The MTN Private Placement Offer! by SOJ(m): 12:49pm On Dec 18, 2007
The story goes that MTN South Africa has agreed to divest portions of its holding through IBTC Asset Mgt to High net-worth individuals. Each Individual is expected to shell out a whooping NGN610m ($5m) and $10m for corporate organizations.

Part of the investments includes screening "unworthy" individuals such as 419'ers, treasury looters and people who can't justify the source of their wealth. But really, isnt that a long shot? I mean, what kind of person on our present Nigeria can bring out NGN610m if he/she isnt a treasury looter?

MTN has hoodwinked us again o!
Business / Re: More Attractive Names for Products Made in Nigeria by SOJ(m): 12:16pm On Dec 18, 2007
I would agree wit seun and all who say this thread is basically a "fun thread" therefore it shouldnt be taken serious.I mean whats with the "international standards" thing? there is nothing international about changing the name of an indigenious product developed locally to a more "english" sounding name.Thats a lot of crap i must say. Ask urselves why names such as sushi, yamarita and pizza are great worldwide and they are not english names?what is wrong with amala, fufu and ogiri as a name? as far as am concerned, such names bringout the uniqueness of such products especially when mixed into variants of their original flavor.And if packaged properly and exqisitely presented to the world, we would have ourselves a worldwide hit. Once a again, i must say seun, alheri and co ( feels good to say this!) U ARE WRONG!

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: The People Prime Move by SOJ(m): 11:16am On Dec 18, 2007
If its Peopleprime then keep ur shirts on, they will definitely call if they promised they would.The only catch is dat they work according to the pace of their clients so if they appear to be taking time then it must be form the client they are recruiting for.Keep ur hopes up!
Business / Re: Genuine Business Ideas & Investors Meeting Place by SOJ(m): 4:55pm On Dec 14, 2007
This is a great thread.Where have u been?well a great idea has its time.i agree with u dat we must exclude HYIP's and so on.Real businesses are what add value to Nigeria in the long run.We should also direct the drive of the community to improving the image of NIgeria both internally and abroad by presenting ourselves as producers and not consumers alone.I believe in the longrun dats what we'll achieve.Later

Jokes Etc / Re: Jokes From My Archive by SOJ(m): 1:09pm On Nov 27, 2007
A man walked into the local hospital to get medications for his cold.After he had been attended to, he asked the attending nurse if he could use the toilet.She apologised that the "Gents" section of the lavatory was out of order and that he could use the "Ladies" but on one condition, that he must not touch anything. The man consented and went ahead to use the toilet. After flushing, he noticed that three buttons where on the wall colored differently and labelled likewise. To satisfy his curiosity, he pressed the first button labelled "PWD" and a fragrant puff of powder swelled up at him. Pressing the next button labelled "SPR" sent a spray of lovely deodorant up his body. He now got excited and guessed he now knew why ladies take a long while in the toilet! He pressed the third button labelled "TAM" and suddenly he passed out.

On waking up, he found himself in an hospital bed wearing surgical clothing.The nurse approached him and scolded him: ", Did'nt i tell you not to touch anything?! You pressed the "remove TAMpoons" button, your penis is in the jar beside you."
Business / Re: SHOE SHINER THAT'S ALSO A BILLBOARD by SOJ(m): 12:56pm On Nov 27, 2007
@naijacutee
speaking for "showshiner", i heard its already been displayed in a major mall in highbrow V/I:the silverbird galleria. although i still agree with u dat it should be pushed to the market at half rates to make it juicy for advertisers.
@otadlaw
Granted your rates are one of the lowest but think what would happen when u crash the rates? wink however let us know ur rates viz a viz dealership and advertising.
Business / Re: New Entertainment Concept by SOJ(m): 12:21pm On Nov 27, 2007
Great idea although i fear its very capital intensive.Think about this:why hasnt someone started it?maybe a feasibilty and viability study has revealed taht it isnt so fetching an idea as we think? undecided but on paper,just thinking about it makes it look good,i think.its better situated where there are already existing wonder monuments like it.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: List Of Fake Recruitment Agencies. by SOJ(m): 1:24pm On Nov 23, 2007
I wouldnt support including "Dragnet" in this list because, though i haven sampled their services, they shouldnt be victimised becos they r introducing a novel way of attracting good talent for recruitment. The "Dragnet" idea is great and will make recruitment a win-win route to accessing companies that one desires.i hope to use their services soon, wink

Business / Re: What's The Best Way To Market Goods And Services In Nigeria by SOJ(m): 5:58pm On Nov 13, 2007
Nope, a fully functional website need not cost a fortune.U can design one for as little as N30,000 and above depending on the site requirements.Many nigerians are now internet savvy o,nigerians are logging on in their thousands nowadays what wit internet regd for many services suchas JAMB,WAEC and online job applications.what is not prevalent is the USAGE of internet for commercial services.that is being sorted out too.If u want more info(website design),u may get in touch with me: sojiayoade@yahoo.com. Kindly type subject as "WEBSITE DESIGN"

Business / Re: How To Get Small, Short-term Loans In Nigeria by SOJ(m): 10:46am On Nov 10, 2007
Most small biz ideas are workable with a little capital.Searching deep u might find out dat u dont need the "loan" in form of cash alone.Yu should research ways of synergizing with other small biz around u that have comlementary or similar products and services. Also look for opportunities to piggyback on well established biz and recieve mobilizations upfront on ur services to propesctive clients.Hope this helps?Just dont want inertia to prevent u or anyone like it did me when i started mine wink
