I remember delta soap creating a calendar and all the women were light skinned. As a Nigerian child then, I did not even notice any conscious effort to have only light people on the calendar in a COUNTRY POPULATED BY DARK SKINNED PEOPLE . It was a marketing tactic to tell women that if you use delta soap your skin will be light. Mind you delta soap is not a bleaching agent, but it preyed on what the society considered as beautiful.
