Big congrats to geebaby10 and deni83. At hifyty, a big big congratulations to you too and your amazing daughter. I remember reading your story then and i just paused and said a small prayer. I am so glad it turned out well for you and your family.
Its PPR rain. In other news, i went to an office to speak to a colleague this morning. I was asking how her CD (community development for NYSC people) exercise went and this was what transpired (no kidding)
''How did your PPR go yesterday?''
She looked at me really confused and i repeated again ''Your PPR yesterday''
And when more people looked at me in the office i knew something was wrong
''PPR?'' they chorused
Only then did sense enter my head ''sorry CDS i meant'' then i ran out of the office immediately. Thankfully no one there understood.
EmmaJohn12345: Bro.... I joined the Army with the hope of sponsoring myself to school... I have never had the thought of molesting anybody nor intimidating people. And God can bear me witness that I have never shed an innocent blood.... I have only served in maiduguri and presently serving in kaduna.
Shhh! Don't let out further details about yourself here before person find you go your location. Why not quietly resign abi military man nor dey resign?
My timeline below. Now I'd be as detailed as pos and d bless us in this journey
Thank you for your well detailed explanation. Your HR strong oh but last last, God strong pass them. God bless that your immediate manager who stepped in. Don't forget his help cos these days some go fear to counter HR decree or stick their neck come outside.
bolarinnwa: By all means i don't want to. But where i served is one of the most backwards states in the country. There's no assurance that i'll get the reference letter as i got information the school packed up. please do you know if i could just attach my dispatch letter to the school and back it up with my account statement.
Sir, please read what to do in the case of a defunct company.
The post in question was treated by GlitteringStar. You are far better producing as many documents (as you can find) which she referred to in that link than forging work experience in any company.
flosk: So does it means that 11 months of Nysc can be calculated as 1 years(coy didn't want to include camp month)
Bro/sis, 11 months is 11 months and not a year. You shouldn't presume what you don't have. To be honest, I'm not sure why CIC rounded mine up to one year; but do bear in mind that mine was a question of 7/8 days or so till I clocked 2 yrs in that job. I don't know if it was a fluke or it didn't matter to them.
Nevertheless, I've since gone ahead to re -edit my profile again to give myself peace. Please don't presume or take undue risk especially if your employer ends up giving you a reference letter stating you worked for 11 only months.
conebeam: Thanks so much for the suggestions. I filled in correct details for the application, but it was rounded up as 3yrs. But in the real sense it's 33months. Which makes a score of 450 rather than 475. If I decline ITA alone I ll still have 475, which is meant to be 450.
Thank you all.
You have gone on and on about this question. Why not do what's truly in your mind and give yourself peace. If you feel like declining the ITA, please do. 450 is a high score anyway. You'll probably get invited again in the next round.
In my case, by March 5, I clocked 2 years at my current job. I had 1 year at a previous job.I got into the pool February ending with the exact months I'd worked which was like 2 years and 11 months. I had it in mind I'll update my profile by March 5th to reflect 3 years.
Guess what, same day CIC calculated my score with 3 years. End of story.
[s] I understand your fear though, mine was a matter of days while yours is 3 months. Please follow your heart[/s]
cochtrane: +1 Chief, you need to stop asap taking pictures of the people you drive. It's just soooooo wrong on many levels. I admire your writing and your humour. I actually did read a lot of your posts and found some entertaining even if I didn't like most. But you need to grow up and really respect your riders, not feign the respect. Taking pics of your riders, silently insulting them and openly doing it on Nairaland are not good ethics for your job. If Uber manages to find you, you can be sure they'll relieve you of your services. That of course is if one of your riders does not find you out and report you to Uber.
This was what I had in mind when I tried to find out (earlier on this same thread) if he wasn't worried he could be spotted by a passenger/Uber or Taxify.I mean Nairaland is not as anonymous as you'd like to think. Anyone could be reading, a staff or even a passenger who rode in your car.
Op posting start and end trip details, being overly specific about passengers you picked e.g owner of so and so place, posting your own picture (though you sensored it abit) posting passengers pictures... I mean that's just pushing it. But then again, maybe you don't really care.
cochtrane: A collection of success cases on Nairaland
After doing the rejection cases, felt I should do the success cases. So, I went through the "PPR declarations" on this Part 3 thread. GlitteringStar has done a good job of compiling this already, so it was just a matter of clicking. Some of these "declarations" shared important details and some were downright inspirational. Thought to share some important summaries from these you might find useful. Details concern self-employment, contesting refusals, following up with CIC after much delay, gift deeds and other POF issues, NOC, etc. Note that these guys all got PPR already, so they must have done something right. At the same time, what works for A doesn't necessarily work for B, so just use this as cautiously as you can. You can go through the main posts themselves to get a clearer picture.
Thank you very much; you are far too selfless. I have bookmarked
Yam pepper soup is a very rich and spicy south-south delicacy made by combining yam cubes with assorted meat together and then seasoned with pepper soup spices; it is one of the healthiest pepper soup recipes for nursing mothers.
IForgotMyLoginD: It’s so sad that people don’t do kind deeds these days and walk away.
If it were a business contract, maybe you should have told the lady your fees and how soon she’ll get results before you posted the article.
But my guess is, you heard her story, were moved to post, and didn’t in your wildest dream ever think it’ll work.
That the man saw the post and contacted you was by chance and not your doing so I don’t expect you to take credit for it. That you posted this complaint, making man and daughter look like ingrates has disqualified your act of kindness. How long have you known them that you should be bold enough to ask for money and be upset if they don’t give.
You should have walked away after both reunited coz that’s what heroes do.
@Mophasa a good look at most people's comment shows you are ACTUALLY wrong here! I know it is hard to believe especially as you were called a scammer (they got no chill for telling you this to your face or via phone; the gentlemanly thing was not have have told you but that would not stop them from saying it to themselves) but truth remains you shouldn't have asked them in the first place If i were you, I would quietly beg a mod to take down this post You are not doing father and daughter, you are actually doing yourself
Mophasa: Thanks, for this past month I had known them,I never asked for nothing and haven't received any either.
Was jux in a tight corner and needed help, I didn't Even specify any amount!
Not giving the money wasn't my problem but calling me a scam was my annoyance.
Everything happened within 24hrs
Did you ask them like they owed you a favour? Sometimes when you ask people like this which you may have helped tremendously, they tend to think you probably did it because you wanted something of them (dad is a Captain for God sake) Like u want to milk them dry this is a man you don't know from Adam but fate brought you together It also happens when a friend has done something wrong and you cover up for them and you later ask them for money they tend to feel uncomfortable with you. You put them in a tight corner where they feel they have to give you the money unless you would let out their secret I'm just trying to draw comparison to let you see how your asking may have been uncomfortable for people like them In any case, let it go, next time you should charge a fee for investigative jobs if you feel inclined to do so...
*I never asked for a gratitude despite the gravity of the work I did
*I was duped by several persons I met on social media who always claimed to knw the man, even some persons here on Nl tried to take advantage
*I used my meagre allawee to buy sub ,promote and sponsor the story on various online platforms
*I have never received anything from the man since he reunited with his daughter, all I got was a "Thank u
Please did I commit any crime by asking for assistance from a man that owes me a big gratitude?
Technically, they owe you nothing bro would it be nice if the dad or even daughter gave you something to say thanks, yep but still they OWE you nothing but immense gratitude and thanks which i am sure you have since received Its the same way i see a purse/phone in a bus and i make every effort to return it to the rightful owner does he owe me something in return, not really If he gives me something wouldn't that be nice? Sure would be but there is no compulsion from his end you should not do good because you may be rewarded. Do good because it is the right thing to do Sometimes an honest man gets compensated but the reward may not even be one tenth of what he recovered The reward could come in his name written in gold, good publicity like Josephine Uguw (the cleaner at MMA) better job opportunities or CASH End of the day, there are some deeds a man carries out that money can never compensate for You may need the money badly but your good deed would always go before you No one can ever take away the fact you found that man and reunited him with his dear daughter Tomorrow you may choose to do investigative work like this for a fee your history of finding this man is good enough on your investigative CV portfolio But on this one, they owe you nothing but thanks bro
I feel sad you claim the man was like a father to you but now him and his daughter have blocked you You sound desperate, the way you keep going on about a burial you have to attend Did you ask for the money like it was ''a right?'' or that you just needed their help Another reason you may have been blocked is because in their heart, they feel they owe you and since they cannot give, your asking has left them in an uncomfortable situation or you probably made them feel that way. Only you know how you asked for help
You need to apologize to them and give them space Good luck
Please read the link above to be convinced beyond doubt. You MUST do medical, PCC (wife n kids above 18) and put proof of fund for ur immediate family members whether accompanying you or not.
nuelnuel: Hello people I have an issue with the work reference letter that I obtained from the school where I served during my NYSC. My concern with the letter is that the stamp which the principal put on the letter obscured his name on the letter. The attached image shows the part of the letter that has the above problem. Please can everyone help me review the image below and help me decide whether I need to travel to the school again to obtain another letter.
I know this type of work. Come today, go tomorrow, call MD, call CEO, sibling sef dey work there, intended salary slashed all of a sudden. Hmm Work when e be like say dem dey you favour get as e be. Not one you got on your own merit Oh well follow your mind. In other news, i don't really get this my father this, my father that for a whole young man who has graduated and finished serving sef follow your mind bros
Be patient. Keep in touch with your contact. I had the same challenges last year. I waited nearly a month before it came out. It was annoying (the same booklet issue) because i could not register for IELTS without my passport. Be calm. It will come out soon
Romeo3: I think this is just the perfect place to relate my daily experiences driving on uber. I have met alot of people. And i keep meeting different ones daily.
stay tuned.
This diary has a twin on the diary section where i post, but i think this space here will project the diary to a wider audience.
Love your diary so i follow you waka come here. I'm a fan of your writings. You write great plus i laugh loads when i read your diary. I only got one question though; aint you worried someone may may just realize they entered your car and report you to Uber or Taxify? I mean if i got into your cab and you took my pics and placed it on Nairaland with a funny tale to go with it, i wont really find it funny though your readers may do.
Onegai: This is for anyone interested in growing their own food and vegetables,
Please check out this Instagram page, so you can see how she's doing it. She is in Nigeria, around Minna or Abuja I believe.
I've gone to spy the page on Instagram now.
Nice to know this thread is still alive and kicking. In other news, my neighbors kids ripped off some leaves off my plants over the weekend. I'm just thankful the damage was done to the bitter-leaf plant (its quite hardy and can grow quickly again) and not my ''hard to grow'' ornamental plants.
sorefunmi: I feel so sad seeing this post about MR X.X.X ..I remember i gave you his contacts and you explained how they haven't found your results which i know very well, its the school who has issues not the man in question..he helped me with my transcripts and so others i introduced without no stories..the 51k was paid to school and sure not him..its very bad when you come here and say things like this.......now i know why pple are always reluctant to help others...please i advise you put down your post ....
GEKE: Hello Guys The story is not too Long but I will just want to know you opinion and advice, if possibly HELP OF ANOTHER JOB, please no insult.......
Am a graduate of Office Technology & Management with 4 years experience on Secretary, Front Desk, & Customer Service.... staying at Ajah Lagos
Ending of January I got a job through nairaland, the office is at Ajah, I was looking forward to work at ajah because I have an elderly woman am looking after, I don't want to work very far... I was called for interview as a Secretary, on getting to the office, it was not what I was having in mind, the office is actually in a plaza, very small one at that, so i went in & was interviewed and salary was discussed, it was a very small amount for a graduate, but it's better than staying at home and I have huge responsibility, so I accepted the offer and to start working February.o
Oe week I discovered I was the only employee, anyone he interviewed on phone after coming to see the office they ran away because of the office Condition.. In the office No system to work with, only one lap top used by the boss alone, only one standing fan facing him alone, he promised to get my system, and new standing fan the day he was interviewing me, but he didn't, I doo come to work with a hand fan, and goes home smelling sweat, buying sure & rolling like mad..
I have never done anything relating to what I was employed for, what I do is going errands for him, he sends me out to many places, to go meet friends, collect receipts and all that are very far place, I endured through till it's time to pay me, he started posting me, today tomorrow, this evening, tomorrow morning, this afternoon, EVEN when I told home I need to go for my late father burial arrangements on Sunday cos I work Saturday, he said he would send my salary and he didn't...
Then one Sunday he called me to come to office to come collect my salary, I was happy at least am getting paid for my sweat.... getting to the office, he handed over the money to me I counted it, and I discovered the money was short of 5k, I asked he said the 5 thousand was for TAX.......I was speechless at first,. because he didn't tell me anything as such and how is 5k for TAX only, This is the money after paying all my debt am left with nothing.............
Try to broaden your horizon. To be honest, a job at Ajah... I dont know sha.... Your course is a nice one. A lot of administrative/customer care jobs abound online; dont quit, keep at it. You may have to move a bit further you know. Chevron, Jakande area or Lekki. It is well with you.
PS: You can make so much in Lekki to pay someone else to look after the elderly person and still have enough spare cash for yourself. I'm just being honest with you
I have a testimony, we have passed our medicals, even though the CIC doc told us clearly, you would most likely be asked for further tests for your daughter. we give glory to God that is not happening. I dont know how God did it but he did it anyway. The good glitch that happened also moved our application into the IP2 gang.
Let me borrow the most popular phrase in here; It will end in praise!
Cheers
I remember your earlier post. Thank God for you and your family
