Sezbaby: Just to say a big thank you to everyone that contributed to this forum. My family (Husband, wife and child) started this journey in September 2016, and the forum was very instrumental to our success.
To everyone that has just started or is planning to start, please don't waste your money on consultants. Read, Read and again read. All the information you need is here. Join the various whats app groups and in no time, you'll be an expert.
Lastly, to encourage people, see our timeline below

Been a long journey, but worth the wait.
If you're with the London visa office, i recommend you lift up your eyes to the hills, and just wait upon the Lord or whatever your faith trusts in (lol). Spend the time reading up on what you need to do post PPR, cos trust me, there is a lot to do if you want to land and integrate easily with minimal disruption to your livelihood and standard of living. Its not about your qualifications or anything but just basic stuff that make things like finding a job easier.
Will update when the pick up letter arrives.
Thanks and peace out This is a fantastic timeline of faith and perseverance. I tap into it in Jesus name. Your 5 months wait until ITA humbled me. That is a month shy of half a year! It hits close to home cos my estimated CRS score is a little close to yours. So even though I aced ielts at first attempt, I have changed my name to Patience on this journey. I want to encourage everyone who didn't make ielts this time to chin up. Your race is different from the next man's race. Dont envy any man. Don't be down cast for too long and forget your goal. Run your own race diligently. Some people re-writing ielts will jump into that pool and land ITA the following week while others are patiently waiting for scores to crash. So put a smile on your face. Dust those books again. Practice harder again and come back with testimony. Have a good weekend everyone |

Anyway, I wrapped up a while ago and the first thing was to check the much awaited result. LRWS: 7.5,9,8,8.5. Even though this was better than the previous, 'L' somehow contrived to throw a spanner in the works yet again. By my assessment, I did pretty well in the listening test of January 6 that I expected nothing short of an 8. Well, it didn't quite happen as expected but as the saying goes, "winners never quit". I logged on to the BC site and registered for the next available test here in Lagos. For proof of studies, you attach your LLB and your ECA. But when submitting use your LOE and explain that you are also qualified to practice, and attach your certificate of call to Bar. Please note not FOR PROOF OF STUDIES but under your LOE.
Hope this clarifies it. I think this may be necessary if one is practising the law. I'm not accessing LLB just LLM. I'm not practising. Would that still apply to people like me? |
Romance › Re: My Best Friend Is Planning Marriage With My Ex-Boyfriend by stonecoldcafe: 12:14pm On Jan 18, 2018 |
Green222: Please Candid advise needed.
On the 8th Dec. 2017, I was gisting with my Best friend (we have been friends now for 17years) about a guy I dated for 7years. We parted ways because he was a chronic womanizer and was not ready to change. I have caught him on several occasions with other women in action; I have cried myself to sleep because of his actions and in-actions. His actions affected my grades while in school. my relationship with him was well known by his family and mine. The relationship almost caused me my life during an abortion I did for him; he never abandoned me, he was with me thru the ordeal. He is a loving fellow that can do anything for me and defend me anywhere. He can go Xtra miles to please me but that does not stop him from cheating on me. The emotional trauma was becoming too heavy for me to bear, I quite the relationship.
Back to my friend. On this particular day, we decided to search the guy on Facebook, we saw him and my friend sent a friend request. He accepted the request the same day and they started chatting. He requested for her mobile number which she gave to him and they started talking on the phone. The guy requested to meet with her during Xmas as we are all from the same locality. She agreed to the request even though she knew she will be traveling home. I was still in the picture of their discussion at this stage.
On the 22nd, my friend travel to spend the Xmas with her brother's family in the West while I traveled to our Hometown in the North Central. We constantly speak on the phone and she never mentioned her communications with my Ex again. Only for her to call me yesterday that she has changed her travel plans. She has traveled back home on the request of my Ex to meet him in our hometown; they have met and he has introduced her to his family and she has done same and both families accepted them. Their wedding has been fixed for March 2018. She said she has asked my EX to call me
She called this morning to asked if my Ex had called to inform me of his intentions to marry her. I said NO. She said my Ex said he does not have the courage to talk to me.
I feel betrayed by my friend's actions. I have a lot of friends that know my Ex and I and also know me and my Girl friend.
Please I need Candid advise on her to handle this issue Betrayed for what? You are done with the man abi didn't you just refer to him as ex. Why are women like this sef? I understand how pained you must be but you are over him. Whatever he decided to do with your friend or any other woman brought through your or someone else) is not your business. Should the letter be specific to the FT duties/NOC 1114 job descriptions or it can be general to include other jobs I did there and will still be acceptable?. wisdomguy4u: My fellow nairalanders, pls you guys should follow me digest this my matter. Una fit learn one or two things.
Around 23rd of Dec 2017, i travelled from benin to my hometown in Anambra state for the Christmas holiday. While on the way i called my fiancee who stays in Onitsha with her parents, i asked her if we could lodge in a hotel when i get to onitsha so i can continue my journey to my hometown the next day. She told me she can't sleepover as her parents won't let her ( as she was expected to cook the next day). So we agreed that when i get to onitsha i will come pick her up and drop her back in the evening.
So when i got to onitsha i went straight to her house. And with the permission of parents , i went out with her (her parents knows me ).
We went to a nice hotel in onitsha where i booked a room #9,500 (lodging). We relaxed have some drinks and food. We talked about how our wedding will be. I wanted the wedding to hold around June this year , but she wanted it early. We had a nice time together as it has been months since we haven't seen.
After some hours together, she said she has to go as her parents would be expecting her. I told her i will drop her and from there head to my hometown. She asked me what about the room i paid for lodging... i told her that we would have to return the key as i cannot sleepover in the room all alone when i know i can still reach my hometown if i leave now. As a smart girl (which she feels she is), she told me that if the hotel workers finds out that I'm leaving, they would just put someone else in the room and pocket the money to themselves (in my mind then i was like that's their luck then).
As we were about to leave the room , i wanted to return the key, but she suggested i leave the key inside the room and just jam the door so they wouldn't know that we have left until the next day. I asked her why didnt she want the workers to make gain from it; she said the workers didn't attend to us well, that they were forming big girls. I did as she suggested, jammed the door and we left. I dropped her up in her street and left immediately for my hometown (that was around 6:00pm).
While on route to my hometown i met a heavy traffic jammed around nkpor junction. After an hour or so in traffic, i decided to go back to the hotel and spend the night , and continue my journey on the early morning of the next day, so as to bypass the traffic.
When i got to the hotel (around 8pm) , i walked straight to the room i earlier booked. But when i tried to open the door...i found out that it was locked. Angrily, i walked down to query the receptionist on why she should put someone else in the room when i never told her that I'm done with it.
But to my astonishment, she told me she didn't give the room out to anybody. She called one of the security guard to accompany us to the room to find out who the intruder is.
When we got the door, the receptionist knocked . A young boy on his underpants opened the door and asked what the matter was. The receiptionist asked to find out when and how he got the room. The young boy went in and brought out the receipt of payment bearing my name .
At that moment i sensed what could be up, so i pushed the door open and got in, nobody was in the room . i tried to open the bathroom, and noticed it was locked from the inside (In my mind i prayed to God let it not be what I'm thinking).
After several knock on the bathroom door, the person behind the door finally opened it. Behold it was my fiancee (ex-fiancee now). I was shocked .
I was so furious that i felt like giving her a sound slap. She was just crying and couldn't say a word (what would she say? She was caught in the act). I called her mother that night to inform her of what happen, she was shocked too. She said she call her on phone and told her she would be spending the night with me as we were setting plans for our upcoming wedding.
Some girls have fish brain, you met a guy who love you and even got engaged with you. But yet you still mess around with your street boys who couldn't afford to pay for a hotel room or even get his own apartment. This should be a lesson to you girls.
As i enter the new year , i enter with the watchword "trust no woman , fear every woman". In this new year , may we find our true love. Fake love will not be our portion. And that was how the wedding plan died. Right there in the hotel room |

It is located at the back of the church. No one parades the pos machine around. After service, make your way to the back, pay and go. I have never ever felt it was out of place. Quality of God's message still on point. We are living in a technology driven society. Members of the church are not in complete idolation from the world. Less and lesser people carry cash these days. No one is happy to stand st an ATM for ages. People scroll through their bible apps in church while reading the bible. People pay offering via *737# or directly from their banking app during offering time. I see it all the time so I'm used to it. But then again maybe its just my church |

Angelanest: A Nigerian man, Tobenna Obiano, was very surprised after seeing a middle-aged woman driving a tricycle popularly known as 'Keke Napep' at a fuel station in Anambra state. The surprised man who revealed how happy the woman was while hustling in a male dominated work - encouraged her by paying for her fuel.
Below is what Tobenna shared on Facebook;
Yesterday, while driving to Umuomaku in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State with few friends for the traditional wedding of Chybyke, Mr. Tony Onyedibe, the elder brother to Mr. Onyedibe Arthur, I pulled up to buy petrol at a certain gas station in Awgbu of Orumba North LGA, I met this fine woman.
At first, I wasn’t sure, when I got closer, it was too real to be a myth. A woman keke Napep rider. I was happy. I smiled. I greeted her and asked if I could hug her, she agreed. I told her I wanted to tap from her blessings of industriousness. A woman of about 35 to 40years riding a tricycle as a public transporter to make money. I was happy.
Now, after we took these photos, I asked her how much gas she wanted to buy and she told me. I offered to pay that she fills up her tank. She needs encouragement. Yes, the cost of petrol is quite high, but I can’t buy mine and leave, when I have seen an industrious lady who’s hustling more than some men folks. The pump attendant even told me that there are three women tricycle riders in the town. I was amazed.
It is for women like this that I often beat my chest and insist that Nigerian nay African women are hardworking and very industrious. They have the energy and they proudly put it to work.
I told her, “Nnem, jisie ike, otekete aka o di njo, odi nma, God bless you. I love you!” She smile and said, “daalu nwannem, o ga adiri gi na nma”. I now walk in dominion and her prayerful blessings and wishes would lead my part.
Now, it is particularly great to meet a true slay mama, not those daughters of eve that often line Abakiliki street in Awka looking for who to devour. This is New Year and its for persons like this woman that I ask myself, “are you really pushing as you should. I need to put in more effort”.
This is 2018, friends, no dull moment. Fire on people!

dfanz: ITA 19th April AOR 20th Jun Meds Passed 13th July Appl refused 28th Aug (refused for NOC mismatch) CSE raised 29th Aug App reopened 28th Sept PPR 3rd November Passport Sent 4th Nov App approved 19th Dec COPR received 22nd Dec
When I started the process, I only read what was required off the CIC website. I had no idea of documents required till after ITA when I got my personalized checklist. This thread is very helpful, if I had discovered it earlier, I would have made a better application.
My work experience spanned 4 NOCs and over 10years. The NOC I based my application on did not have a good match with the employment letter I submitted hence the refusal. I raised a CSE appealing for reconsideration and my application was reopened. However, I believe that my work experience in it's entirety was considered in reopening my application (not just the nominated NOC). I have experience in 4 NOCs, 2 of which are C occupations and did not add to my application. I obtained employment letters from all past employers including jobs from more than 10yrs ago. Since my employment history was clear and showed my career growth, it is my opinion that this helped the VO decide to reopen my application.
For POF, I tendered my Tbills certificate with my SOA. There was no lump sum deposit. I did not do any reference letters at all.
For a previous visa denial, I did not submit schedule A upfront. It was requested later about the same time I passed medicals. Also, I did not give reason for my refusal nor did I attach the refusal letter.
I had a UK visa denial, my application was processed in Ottawa. There has been a debate on which applications end up in London. I don't think there is any rule to this. Everyone cannot be processed in Ottawa. Applications are distributed to visa offices based on country of residence of the PA. Nigerian residents have been known to be processed in Accra and London.
I think the best we can do is to submit a truthful and transparent application to withstand any scrutiny and hope for the best. While VOs have rules to guide them, these rules are still subject to the VOs judgement. Remember what worked for Tom might not work for Harry. Fantastic testimony. Bless God and a big congratulations |

From my experience, once you start begging excessively, you lose your respect and, even if you get her back, she gets worse. Keep the option of reconciliation open to her, admit your mistakes, but please dont ever beg as if you're the sole cause of the breakup. If she attaches any importance to the union, she will reach out to you. Mending fences should be a mutual thing. Good luck Mutual. Very true |

@=kunleajaye Oh what a tale. I read your story from 2016. Oh lord, it is well with you, that's all I can say. Do you intend to keep living in the states or return home? Its well...
Also unless you have a stand by job or good business, don't close shop and run back to Nigeria. It is tough here bro. By all means, come home, make peace with her and try to survey the land to see if it favours you. It will be worse if you returned broke with no prospect of anything and you were still trying to gum body to her. Na dat time she go curse you pass. Again please pray for peace. It is well |
