Family › Re: My Brother Is Addicted To Weed And Now Tutolin, HELP! by stonecoldcafe: 9:02pm On Jan 04, 2018 |
mssrosa: Hello Fam!
This is something I wish I wouldn't have to do but I am left with no option as I am at the crossroads.
My brother started smoking lets say about 6-5 years ago, I only got to find out 3 years. He is my immediate elder brother so we are pretty much close, we are also from a Christian family and I can assure you that we were brought up very well. We have other elder siblings (boys).
From his story, I found out he started smoking when he got into University. He got into the federal university in my state and since we weren't based there, he lived alone in the family house.
This is someone who got into school and for his first year studying engineering, he had a very strong 2.1 and bagged Agbami scholarship. Fast forward to 3 years later, he dropped to a 2.2(which he later graduated with) and lost his Agbami scholarship. This same year he came home for hols and started being all by himself. One way or the other, my parents caught him smoking one day, dad scolded him, mum did same but later on went to plead with him to stop. He promised he would but still went back to smoking.
Right now before he goes to someone's house to maybe spend few days he would ask questions like: is there a backyard, is there a lone time in the house? Privacy etc, just so he would smoke.
He smokes weed EVERY single DAY!!! And now he is getting really slim, anytime I try to talk to him about it he gets angry and walks away.
Just few days ago I noticed he has been drinking something he calls "purple"(he mixes it with maybe coke or ChiExotic). I went into his room and saw a bottle of tutolin which is obviously his "purple". I asked him why he was drinking it, he said he felt like and I told him I was gonna tell someone in the family.
NOW TO MY QUESTION
Should I go ahead and tell a family member/all or I should keep talking to him? What is Tutolin? |

4wearegreat: Hello Everyone,
Please what can I do to raise my morale?
1st attempt (July) - LRWS - 7.5,9, 7.5, 8 2nd attempt (Nov)- LRWS - 8.5, 8.5, 6.5, 7.5
For 2nd Attempt: I Requested for EOR in RWS. None was upgraded (lost 15k)
3rd attempt (Jan) - Had my speaking this week - Messed up big time!!!!
I presently feel so depressed and demoralized.
With IELTS score of LRWS-8,7,7,7........................ITA would fall on me immediately , but achieving this appear impossible #Makeigobegmyvillagepeople What was wrong with your first attempt? Is a 7.5 that bad? It is well with you bros |

androsurf: I just checked my ielts results now (Dec 16). I was shaking while entering my details. But Glory be to the most high....Alhamdulillah!!!
LRSW 8.5,9.0,7.0,7.0 (first attempt)
A lot of funny stuffs happened to me during my test. For one, my bladder was filled to the bream, and the supervisor refused to let us go out until it's 10 minutes to rounding up. I was so uncomfortable. But God saw me through....
ECA came few hours ago. Congratulations well done! I am gently waiting for them to resume in the new year so I can go and collect my certificate from them. I wrote mine on the 2nd of December as a first timer too and all i can say is thank God. To all rewriting or planning on writing in January, may it end very well for you. |

Family › Re: My Sister Beats My Mum, Guys What I'm I To Do? by stonecoldcafe: 4:44pm On Dec 28, 2017 |
splenzard: Hello Fellow Nlanders,
Compliments of the season.
As this may be the season of happiness, not everyone partakes in the joy of the festivity, I am one of those. Let me cut the chase and go straight to the point.
I'm a 400 level student of civil engineering, I've got a younger sister, I'm older than her with a couple of years although she's yet to gain admission despite the fact that she has tried severally. she decided to start working pending whenever she gains admission.
Along the line, she became a cultist and she suddenly became a heavy smoker, drinker and a drug addict (tramadol, rephnol, codine, etc).
At this point my mum (she's a single mother, my dad died a couple of years back) did she least she could do by scolding, reporting her to the leaders in the church, kinsmen and everyone whom she thought she(my sister) would listen to but all these efforts proved abortive as she deteriorated further as she graduated to bringing men to the house at odd hours of the night.
As at last week, my mum called me and was sobbing over the phone, she told me that my younger sister beat her up because she confronted her about her behavior.
right now I'm confused, in order not to act rashly, i decided to seek for advice from this noble forum.
Please guys i need your matured advice here Sorry about your mum's plight. She is not a single mother though, she is widowed. |

Career › Re: HELP!! My Former Company Has Refused To Pay My Dismissal Benefits. by stonecoldcafe: 3:56pm On Dec 09, 2017 |
Vac1: Good morning Nairalander, please I am in a Dilemma and need all the help I can get in other not to make a costly mistake. Straight to my story.
On the 27th of November, my employer disengaged (sacked) me and a few of my colleagues with some bogus accusation of under productivity and insubordination. We were asked to turn in every company property in our care which we duly handed over before leaving. In our dismissal later, it was clearly stated that 'our terminal benefits will be paid along with our salary for the month of November'.
Prior to our dismissal, the sum of 5000 was always deducted from our salary every month as caution fee which is supposed to be paid when one leaves the company, but with experience from people that have left, it is always a tug of war as the company doesn't honor that.
Now, we got information that the company paid her Workers November salary yesterday but we that were dismissed didn't get paid. Individually we called the accountant who from the discussion we had made it point clear that there was no provision for us in the payment voucher and every attempt the reach the management has proved abortive as they have kept posting and at a point not taking our calls.
I decided to bring this here in other to get the best solution to this problem and also to know the various agencies to get involved.Apart from the call which i made to the accountant and the center manager, i have not taken another step as i don't want to make a mistake in dealing with them. I have seen problems of this type get solved here and i believe that mine and that of my colleagues will be solved. Thanks as I wait for HELP.
Please Kindly help me tag people with experience in dealing with this kind of issue.
Kindly help me get this to a larger audience https://www.nairaland.com/4190719/plight-recruiting-firm |

Please someone advise. My transcript from my university does not have the WES reference included. It is a foreign school. I emailed them to include the reference in the envelope before posting but I'm unsure if this will be effected before postage happens. Please must the transcript from your university carry the wes refrence number? |

phf2be: Like you've already been advised, your Masters alone will suffice. The good thing with using WES for UK degrees is that they accept 3rd party academic records providers like Gradintel depending on your school. So you can simply send WES a token which they'll use to access your records (transcript) directly while you use hellofax.com to send a copy of your certificate to WES. Best of luck! I hear IQAS is faster than WES right now. Anyone thoughts on this anyone? |

Hello every one. I am reading from the 2 thread. From the information i am seeing there, i don't have to access my degree if i have a masters. So this is my case Degree from a Nigerian university Masters from a UK university
Can someone confirm for real that if i focused on just the UK Master transcript to WES, this would not become an issue for me. Anyone with a positive testimony of this should please share. Ejo...
PS: The only reason i'm not inclined to go ahead with the degree transcript is the associated cost. My school is fairly decent in responding to foreign bodies.... |
