I think the title of the post is extremely misleading. The story has it that he couldn't afford the rent and hence didn't renew it. So he moved out. There is no place where it was mentioned that he was ejected (forced to vacate). And this misconceived title has formed the basis for most replies to the topic. It is wrong. |
Sowing seeds of discord in the ranks through misinformation and other counter-intelligence measures. I'm beginning to see the decline of the Boko Haram menace. |
I've been trying to place the name. Remind me please, which music did soul train release? I'm not being sarcastic. |
Idealkocep: You could ask round, about that of GTB and First bank. Don't know about Oceanic and Intercontinental (well, before the acquisition by Access bank). |
Crap. I never even knew the NLC had a website. What do they use it for? When more than 80% of Nigeria's civil service workforce do not use the internet. |
Idealkocep:Why complicating things for yourself na? That figure 108k, is called NETPAY. After everything deductible has been deducted. The entry-level pay may seem poor compared to other banks but after the first promotion, the pay profile changes dramatically, with the addition of Housing upfront, profit bonus, leave allwce, 13th month, etc. And on top of that ZB is a very safe place to work in. I don't know what your friend does presently, for us to proffer a better advice on job choice. |
I was also very surprised when I first saw the 8 years in the topic, but after reading the post I got to understand how it took that long. From the OP it says that even the parents of both parties are in support of the union, the lady is respectful and has not been seen to have done anything to jeopardize the relationship. Then what is the problem: The guy is an extremely selfish person. Extremely selfish and I pity the person he decides to settle down with. He claims to be in a relationship but has no qualms about buying sex outside, on a weekly basis. If the lady had in any way been remotely linked with infidelity, I'm sure he'd have fired her a long time ago. It's unfortunate that she'd stayed this long else I'd have advised her to leave that man. She can still do it. He hasn't given her the reason to leave and that's why she's still hanging on. Who knows, he might have caught HIV from his many sexcapades and doesn't want her to suffer along with him. Bl.oody bastard. Some people could be blindly selfish. |
@ Lagoshia, I need to understand you correctly. What point or message did you intend to pass across, by quoting those verses in the OP? |
In Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, a individual may eventually attain a stage where Self actualization becomes more important than wealth. When your name becomes more valuable than material things. I think Prof Jega values his integrity more than material things. A very respectable gentleman. |
Was it the NNPC that mandated KPMG to perform that audit? Thought it was the FG through the Fed Min of Finance. Just asking. |
What's this about the security detail threatening the Immigration Officer with a drawn hand-gun? Hmm, Power can make people really sick. |
VolvoS60:The "Boris" you talk about is actually Ball bearings. The mechanics shortened it to Boris. "Winding glass" is manually operated car window, while "engine glass", referred to automatic windows. A rare option at that time. I didn't have the opportunity of sampling any of the Old School Peugeot models. Ours was an '84 Volkswagen Passat. LOL |

I don't like dreads of any form (micro or macro). Looks untidy to me and I'm sure may produce odours. Mohawk, don't know which planet that came from. An extremely juvenile hairstyle and I see it as an evidence of absent parenting IMO. Bite me. I just like low-cut hair (may or may not be skin). Gives a neat and matured look. Shouldn't exceed 2 weeks before the next hair cut. |
^^^Thank you bro. I wish u the same too. And many more. Happy New Year! |
I wish that you be blessed with divine wisdom to dream the right dreams, strength to fulfill them, Joy and long life to enjoy your blessings. |
I want us all to join hands as we sing "There is none Holy as my God" into the New year. |
denzel2009:LOL. Facebook has been hacked before and personal pics marked private of the Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg were stolen from his FB account and posted on the Internet. The hacker then had wanted to show the vulnerability of Facebook accounts being open to malicious and unwanted access. I don't know if Facebook has considerably stepped up their security framework against hackers, but we still get malware popping up on our FB walls constantly. Don't we? Just control the quality of sensitive information you post on FB. That's all. Just one social networking site is already ok for me. |
Eminem feat Lil' Wayne - No love Evanessence - Bring me to life Duncan Mighty - Obianuju In that order. I could listen to them non-stop and sing along for hours. ![]() |
Lord of Mercy!!! For a woman to carry a combined weight of roughly 8.3Kg to term!! Think of the discomfort that comes with consuming the largest meal you can ever imagine. It's barely up to 2Kg. Yet women have to bear theirs non-stop for such long periods. If there is nothing I should respect a woman for, then it should be for the miracle of bearing children. It's never an easy task. A Branch Head in my region also gave birth to a set of quintuplets, but unfortunately lost one baby in the process. I wonder what's with this recent boom in multiple deliveries though. |
Crap! Brain drain indeed. Congrats to him on being a super-achiever. So if given the choice of Nigeria or Malaysia to work in, which would you choose? He seems smart. I reckon he'll be back to Nigeria soon, working in one of the top-rated oil firms. I don't even see him venturing to the US or Europe. What with their collapsing economy. |

I don't think we do much of starters and desserts in our regular meals. However in Igbo parties, I think the starters may include garden-eggs served with groundnut paste a.k.a ose-oji, ugba (sliced oil-bean) garnished with enough anu Kanda, to be escorted down with kegs of tombo liquor. This is prior to the main food being served- mainly akpu, garri, pounded yam or semo and soups. What follows next, Ermmm, I think it may be extra fried meats. I think Nkwobi and Isi-ewu qualify as desserts. Sweets or ice-cream is foreign. |

I don't have much to say. Back then in 2002/2003, the most common ASUU grouse was the re-instatement of the 47 sacked UniIlorin lecturers. The complaint and strike threat kept coming up till my school just upped and left the ASUU union and they never looked back ever since. I don't know what became of those 47 lecturers. My advice to intending undergraduates is this: if you don't have the funding to go to a Private or foreign Uni, pls look for a good school that has been confirmed not to be a member of ASUU. I'm aware of UniZik, Awka and FUTO, Owerri and it's not surprising to know that they have the fastest calendar in the SE and SS zone. There would most likely be other schools which do not belong to ASUU. So make your choice wisely. In these schools I mentioned, their sch fees are not that different frm their ASUU contemporaries, they receive funding frm the same Fed Govt budget, yet are better rated, so what please is the advantage of being an ASUU member? ASUU proponents shld pls let me know. In my opinion, ASUU is simply a body that was set up to enshrine mediocrity in our educational system and celebrate anachronistic assumed control of govt thru the so-called unionism. |
Goddys:WHAT ARE YOU?! |
It's just a question of numbers. Our large population (with a major proportion in the active youth range) coupled with the rapid adoption of mobile phones with internet-ready functions has contributed to this our constant recurrence in mobile and web apps use globally. Just last week, I read that Nigeria ranked (somewhere among the top 5? I've forgotten) in the most downloads of OperaMini globally. So what's the big deal? One thing I've discovered is that we are now commonly known for consumption of other countries products. If Nigeria is not mentioned for buying Nokia's 1 billionth phone, then it must be for consuming something else. If we are so many and so technology-savvy, then why can't we be prolific software developers like India, etc. It's not like you need a University degree to master the skill. Maybe it's proper national co-ordination and administration that is lacking. What were those agencies like NITDAN, Science and technology ministries established for anyway? Make we go ahead to dey buy buy and use use. Consume only. No output. I don't want to start sounding like one ranting socialist now. |
It's been like 2 years since I last watched any GUS show. I wish I could find a reason to force myself to watch the series. |

- their strange names may have been the reason why they had to be replaced nearly every other week.
Not to talk of the car part called the "boris"
( I first heard that in a mechanic's workshop in the late 80s). Does anyone have any idea what a 'boris' is?
Other best forgotten memories of my lion ownership include routinely injuring my fingers on rusty, jagged wheelarches while washing the car
I wish I could find a reason to force myself to watch the series.
