I've known Ibeku people to be extremely nepotic and selfish when it comes to issues of public service (hence the term: "ofa bu ofa anyi"wink so I'm not surprised that someone would be committing this in.sane and monkey act at state executive level. People serve as governors and leave lasting legacies that everyone one remembers them for. Look at Sam Mbakwe, Lateef Jakande and co. Well I'll make sure I always remember Theodore Ahayaefula Orji for this. He'll die a slow and shameful death. He can be sure of that.

This is serious O. And I was checking up the school just Saturday last week, from adverts they put up in the Sun newspaper. Private colleges are hardly safe anymore (that's even if they had any reputation before).

I don't know why most Asian businessmen are heartless in their dealings (with Africans alone?) See what they've done with Airtel. I'll advise that everyone should have to be careful with them, especially the Indians.

Such attitude is even displayed in their movies, so there is a strong indication that that is how they behave even among themselves in reality. I stand to be corrected as there may be some exceptions.

True to an extent. Or they may shed a few tears about the state of the roads, hem and haw about awarding contracts to repair the road that week then forget about it by the following month.
Benin-Ore road was slightly repaired. Tell me which road is worse than that Enugu-PHC road. I want to know.

Arik Air's quality of service is better than Aero. True or False. (I'm only asking O, bikokwa!).

Well my answer to urs is False. Cos I know of several Yorubas who don't have the time to form effizy or claim Tokumbo in the name of "been-to". Tokumbo what kwanu? (although most Yorubas too form levels sha, most times beyond their capacity).

I have seen this post before and I have taken time to read it once again and it keeps annoying me! I PERSONALLY BELIEVE WITH NO IOTA OF DOUBT IN MY MIND that the AUTHOR of this article IS NOT IN TUNED WITH THE REAL NIGERIAN YOUTH. (my opinion)

I have taken time to cut out some of his postings below:

1.Let me add the benefit of my time as a student and then resident in
the UK - and I live in Lagos now -    the writer was trained in the uk and may hardly have any idea of what nigerian undergraduates go thru

2.The first thing that I discovered
about UK-born, white, English undergraduates was that all of them did
holiday or weekend job to support themselves - including the children
of millionaires amongst them. - Of the total number of nigeria youth who write jamb year in year out how many are offered admission? talk less of being undergraduates

3.A quick survey would show you that only children from
Nigeria fly business or upper class to commence their studies in the
UK  - how many nigerian youth can their parents afford to send them to universities even here in nigeria talk less of abroad

4. "30 is the new 18" - wrong! it is even 14 years here in Naija, I know of hundreds of teenagers who hawk to make ends meet for their parents - the writer should go up north and see the level of poverty (almajiris etc) and know what's up

5. At age 18 years, a typical young adult in the UK leaves the clutches
of his/her parents for the University, chances are, that's the last
time those parents will ever play "landlord" to their son or daughter
except of course the occasional home visits during the academic year.  - Millions of even parents are still tenants to landlords, how much more the children

6. At 21 years and above or below, the now fully grown and independent
minded adult graduates from University, searches for employment, gets
a job and shares a flat with other young people on a journey into
becoming fully fledged adults. - At 21 yrs YOU GRADUATE IN THE UK/US ABROAD AND NOT IN NAIJA WITH STRIKES! 30 YEARS OLD ARE STILL JOB HUNTING HERE (2.1s inclusive0

7.I am UK trained
Recruitment Consultant - Ok now - uk trained - no wonder!

8.I enjoyed the savings
that I made from living on and off at my parent's house in London -
indeed that is the primary reason for my being able to buy myself a 3
bedroom flat in London at age 25 with absolutely no direct financial
help from my parents!  - at 25, the writer bought himself a 3 bedroom flat - here in Naija, 40 yrs HARDWORKING people are still struggling and hustling to buy a plot of land!

9.Meanwhile today, we have Nigerian children who have never worked for 5
minutes in their lives - THIS IS A LIE!!! (I STAND TO BE CORRECTED WITH EVIDENCE- EVEN ADENUGA'S CHILDREN WORK)

chances
are that big boy is cruising around Lagos with a babe dressed to the
nines, in his dad's spanking new SUV with enough "pocket money" to put
your salary to shame. It is not at all strange to have a 28 year old
who has NEVER worked for a day in his or her life in Nigeria but
"earns" a six figure "salary" from parents for doing absolutely
nothing. - ANOTHER LIE

We have a youth population of tens of millions of who are being
"breastfed and diapered" well into their 30s. - LIE

want to encourage you to send your young men and women (anyone over
20 can hardly be called a child!) out into the world, maybe even
consider reducing or stopping the pocket money to encourage them to
think, explore and strive. Let them know that it is possible for them
to succeed without your "help".

Thank you very much for your re-construction of the original post. This represents a true picture of the situation on ground. Nigerians are not known to be lazy or over-pampered by their parents even though there might be a few exceptions to the rule. They are what they are: exceptions.

The OP spoke about home UK students taking up vacation jobs. Pls tell me where in Nigeria, vacation jobs are offered to students (apart from the school instituted Industrial Attachment that some students are even hesitant about leaving upon completion)?

RomanceRe: Shoprite Wahala With Enugu Girls by Tinyemeka(m): 10:18am On Sep 18, 2011
On their opening day on the 15th, I'm sure they made a killing because it looked like the whole of Enugu had come out to shop there. The stream of people was endless and their parking lot held close to 400 cars at a time.

But I know it's just the Enugu town and their initial gra-gra. Majority of the visitors just came to sight-see or pick a few things mostly below N2,000. All the same I think the business'll do very well, given the low prices of their items and other cool stuffs the business has to offer.

By the way a cinema will be opening very soon in the same building. I've forgotten the name.

For those asking what Shoprite is, stop forming stu.pid.

Ricky_Ross:
It is Britain that rather needs serious financial help. Everyone I know in England is in serious debts. The country itself is in economic and financial crisis. All the Big British cars has been sold to foreigners, Range Rover is owned by Indians and the sad news there is endless.

These British people I hate them with passion, they are one of the reasons why Nigeria is phucked today. They are part of our problems, we dont need British money, they rather invest their silly money back to their economy,

These smelly donkeys came to Nigeria without visas and without any invitation, they took my forefathers by force, violated our mothers, ruined our economy and culture, As if thats not enough, they used my people as laborers, sent them to several overseas countries against their wish and even call us apes and monkeys. Till date they are not done. They still dictate what happens in Nigeria, they still have a say in who wins elections and how our economy is managed together with our slow leaders.

These fooooools can mess with our leaders all they want, but their citizens cant mess with smart Nigerians like me. I am happy with the way things are going in UK today, they are almost a second world country at the moment, i pray they continue to dwindle and their citizens suffer the same way they have made us suffer for decades.
Ejoo O! Bro coolu temper O. Don't go stabbing some poor white folks in this your black rage. I feel your angst sha.

Who are "they" you talk about? I am aware of the financial recklessness that goes on in the executive and legislature, which is why I made that wish. Besides, we now have Okonjo-Iweala as the co-ordinating minister and who is in charge of the nation's finances. Past experiences have shown that she is averse to loans and other sorts of unnecessary borrowings so one can be safe to say that this British Trojan horse in the form of "grants" would not be given a second thought.

I know that the US and UK are currently experiencing tight financial crisis, which emerging data have shown would only get worse. They may have the credit to give out loans and grants but that is with the sole purpose of getting more in return. This was one of the reasons former finance minister Aganga advocated the establishment of a Sovereign wealth fund, which could be used as a vehicle to save excess money and also invest elsewhere to yield more income (this I'm sure is a similar case of why the British PM and London's Mayor have come to Nigeria; to invest their money, not to give us grants!). But myopic govt spendings and extravagance wouldn't let our SWF see the light of the day. The Finance minister may eventually bring some sanity into our Fiscal policy, by God's grace (I'm still wishing. Sue me).

Olusegun Aganga resigned from Goldman Sachs to join GEJ's ministerial cabinet of which he is now Trade and Investments minister. Why does he now intend putting his personal integrity and credibility at stake in forming this kind of decision when he knows that good Corporate Governance or at least Code of conduct forbids conflict of interest at board level? It doesn't make common sense to take someone who is almost a monopoly trader of a particular market and place him in an advisory capacity over that same market. Or was Aganga arm-twisted into making that arrangement? The guy goofed continoussly while heading the finance ministry and now that a new one was created for him to manage, he's still entrenching that legacy. Okonjo Iweala will soon come and takeover that ministry from him again. Mumu.

Meanwhile let me see what Magician Dangote plans to achieve. His "1,000,000 jobs for Nigerians" committee still hasn't come out with a definite plan of action and he's busy piling new responsibilities. I'm begining to get sick of the guy : (that a new one was created for him to manage, he's still entrenching that legacy. Okonjo Iweala will soon come and takeover that ministry from him again. Mumu.

Hey!! All you mosquito stalkers and murderers. We represent the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and we demand that you put an outright stop to your inhumane treatment of the poor insects.

From henceforth, the use of bug sprays should be banned in all homes.

Each household is to adopt at least 10 mosquitoes as pets to prevent their extinction.

As for the missing bugitoes, we've assembled them and are keeping them in protective custody until the environment is safer and the Ramadan is over. Cos we don't want them to feed on your dehydrated, malnourished blood. Too bad for their health.

In tackling a challenge or problem, you study that issue, break it down into smaller tasks that could be tackled easily which in the long run'll solve the original bigger problem. Its a good thing that the group has identified the disconnect btwn the power generation, distribution and revenue generation.

Round pegs are being put in round holes and I strongly believe that uninterrupted power supply would soon become a reality. God bless us.

If the first child with Adaeze came by a mistake and they (as he alleges) had to do the 'commune' thingy to give the child a legal recognition, fine and good. Let's say he'd learnt a lesson: Do not put a woman you wouln't marry in the family way. So how did the second child come about? He claims that having come from a 'royal' family amd being a prince, a traditional marriage or whatever 'ceremony' was done for him in absentia to recognise Adaeze as the mother of his child. Does he now claim he is in no way legally attached to her? If he was no longer interested in the lady, what things has he done to dissolve the union? This same 'honourable prince' who agreed that he probably got Adaeze pregnant with the second child around 2007 also states that he was already seeing Mercy Johnson during this same period. I strongly believe this relationship started far before this time. Stu.pid he-goat did not put his affairs in order before trying to marry a public figure and he's complaing about the media attention it has been getting.

On Mercy Johnson's part, having read some of her interviews and from her past behaviours & attitude I'd already viewed her as someone with little intelligence and common-sense so I'm not surprised about her confusion in reaching a wise decision. She should go home and ask her mother or grand-parents on what to do.

If what is being said about Chris Oyakhilome is true, well good riddance. I see his organization as nothing more than a social club where their activities are governed more by human whims than by Divine guidance. To all BLW and Christ embassy members, before attacking back, just ask yourselves in your heart of hearts if your way of living is actually what Christ wanted us to emulate when he was here on earth.

To which state does the school belong? On what basis did Alao Akala order students to move to the establishment in Oyo state? The attitude of students being displayed indicates that they've resigned themselves to fate. That is bad. Instead of waiting for this long without any resolution in sight, you ppl shld fight for an inter-school transfer. The probable loss of one academic year is worth the move. 14 months is too long a period to wait for the state governors to settle among themselves who has the bigger muscle, louder voice or longest kini. Before I answer your question @OP, answer these questions first: what do you use your wallet for? Most probably to carry cash for sundry expenses such as paying your transport fare, doing small shopping, paying the barber, e.t.c.

Now, have you ever seen the president do any of those things (hop a bus, shop or have a haircut outside, etc)? He has convoys of cars to move around, has a personal groomer, cook, house staff. He doesn't need to pay for all those things. However, IF he ACTUALLY has a wallet, I doubt if it's for public view. He'll most likely keep a wallet for sentimental reasons than for its function.

Find a funnier question to ask.

Aliko Dangote has always said that Nigeria remains Africa's best kept secret. And I know he probably meant our strength in numbers. When you manufacture a product that is generally accepted by the populace, expect massive distribution of that product. And I mean massive. Because of our numbers. If the IVM brand becomes acceptable in Nigeria (which is becoming evident from the look of things), I expect the company to grow really fast. They take their time to design and build ergonomic and aesthetically-pleasing vehicles (I've seen some though I haven't ridden in one), so I expect the vehicles to sell very well.

I've observed the comments on the 'Assembled/Manufactured' debacle. I won't say much on that: If a vehicle is doing well, then it is doing well. Leave it at that. The Marcopolo buses we know are manufactured in Brazil, have major components brought in from Germany, etc.Aliko Dangote has always said that Nigeria remains Africa's best kept secret. I used to think Omo was sexy, not till I saw pictures of her pot-belly at the last Grammy Awards and then at another event (can't remember now). Lost appetite immediately. Truly, I think Mercy has a hotter bod than Omotola. But in terms of good looks (face and all), she beats Mercy Johnson hands-down.

Haha. Very funny. The same thing that worries TuFace abi?

BTW this PSquare guy should be guided to differentiate reality from showbiz. Going through his media response, the thing sounded very much like the lyrics from one of their "Ifunanya" songs; the mother of my child, my one and only, the only one I want to see when I wake up, bla bla bla.

Na their wahala sha.
EducationRe: Which Universities Have The Fastest And Slowest Academic Calendars? by Tinyemeka(m): 6:22pm On Jul 31, 2011
When I was in school, I'd always known only one school FUTO that kept leading us UNIZIK in the school calender by a few months. There was a time (I think 2004/2005) the then VC Ilochi Okafor SAN so rushed us, that we finished 2 sessions in one year. Students wan die then : ) However, if u'll include private Uni, Caritas Univ, is also fast that they run different sch calendars for the different levels. So, if say 300 level students are thru with their exams, they could commence the next semester wtout having to wait for the rest of the school.

P.S It pains me to see the kind of grammar being employed by our so-called under-graduates & even graduates on this forum. You guys need to step-up, so you don't have to blame anybody for being unemployable in the future.
