Excitement was visibly written on the faces of some primary school teachers in Kaduna State on Monday as they touched and operated the computer for the first time ever.

The 25 teachers had undergone a five-day digital literacy training programme organised for primary school teachers in Chikun Local Government Area of the state.

The training was organised by Emerald-Isle Foundation (EIF) under its “Train-the-Tutor’’ project, designed to improve the capacity of teachers.

It was organised in partnership with the Kaduna Basic Education Accountability Mechanism, IHIFIX Foundation, Queen Amina College, and Leadership, Effectiveness, Accountability and Professionalism (LEAP) Africa, a youth-focused leadership development non-profit organisation.

The Coalition of Associations for Leadership, Peace, Empowerment and Development is another partner in the training programme
One of the teachers, Ms Kasham Tanko, who teaches a Primary Four class at Local Government Education Authority Primary School, Sabon Tasha, said the training was a game changer for her.

The visibly-excited Tanko said: “Oh! Wow! Oh! Wow! To God be the glory. I participated in the training that has completely transformed me from a digital novice to a digital-savvy teacher.
“Whenever I see a laptop computer, I used to ask myself, what is this? Not that I haven’t seen it before, but I had wondered how people operated it.

“To God be the glory, I have participated in the training and I am now able to do so many things on the computer.
“It is a rare privilege for me because I have never undergone any computer training before,’’ she said.

Tanko added that the training had improved her capacity to use Microsoft Word and PowerPoint applications to prepare lesson plans, notes and prepare presentations.

She commended EIF for the opportunity, which enabled her to know how to source materials online to prepare rich lesson plans and notes using different online platforms.
Other participants told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that they had also seen computers in the past, but it was their first time of operating one.

Head Teacher of UBE Primary School Sabon Gida, Udawa, Mrs Debora Solomon, said her experience was “beyond description’’ having had the opportunity to operate a computer for the first time.

“This is my first time touching a computer since joining the teaching profession in 2007. Now I have learned how to use different tools and applications, including Google tools and other e-learning platforms.
“I have also learned how to use Google tools to interact with my teachers and hold online classes.

“The experience is so amazing, and thanks to Emerald-Isle Foundation; now I can do all these things on a computer,’’ she said.
The experience was not different for Mrs Dorcas Dare, a Primary One teacher at Local Government Education Authority Primary School, Nasarawa I, who described the training as an “eye opener’’.
Dare said that the last time she touched a computer was after her secondary school when she enrolled for an Introduction to computer class where she learned a little about the computer.

She added that the digital literacy training had opened her eyes to so many possibilities in the digital space that would make teaching delivery easy and in the long run, improve learning outcomes.
“Besides learning some of the basics of computers, I also learned how I can source materials by logging to Ignite, the inspired e-platform and Nigerian Learning Passport.
“These are websites with rich educational resources that can be downloaded and used to prepare rich lesson notes that will improve learners’ knowledge on any topic or subject.

“I never knew how possible it was to teach pupils using online platforms and applications, but now I know how, and I am looking forward to exploring them in the future,’’ she said.
One of the instructors, Mr Isaac Sunday, a digital expert with Ihifix Technology Ltd., Kaduna, said the training was hectic because he had to take participants through the very basics of computer appreciation.

He added that because most of the teachers were operating a computer for the very first time, he had to take them through how to use the mouse, and how to switch a computer on and off.
“I also taught them how to use the keyboard; how to create a folder and how to use Google collaborative tools so that they can learn how to interact with themselves and with their pupils,’’ he said.

The digital expert described the non-availability of computers in most public primary schools in Kaduna State as a “serious challenge’’ that would affect the ability of the teachers to put the digital skills to use.
He said pupils also needed to have access to computers to be on the same page with their teachers for improved learning experiences and outcomes.

EIF Chief Executive Officer, Ms Evelyn Ode, said the training packages included computer appreciation, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Google Collaborative Tools, and e-learning platforms.
Ode stressed that the goal was to improve teaching and learning outcomes in public and private schools in Kaduna State to be in tune with the current digital age.

I am in a very tough situation that I don't know how to handle.

My Uncle's Wife tho a distant relative is making some uncomfortable moves on me recently. She would call me to her house and any time I complain about transport just to avoid her, she would insist to pay.

The Chadian government has expelled the German ambassador to the country, Jan-Christian Gordon Kricke, because of his “impolite attitude”, the government said in a statement on Saturday.

The decision was “motivated by the impolite attitude and the lack of respect for diplomatic customs by the German ambassador, as prescribed by the Vienna Convention,” a government spokesman said.

No further explanation was given, but according to local media reports, ambassador Kricke’s criticism of the current transitional government might have been the reason for the move.
Kricke, who has been serving as Germany’s ambassador to Chad since 2021, was given 48 hours to leave the country.

The oil-rich country of 17 million in the Sahel region has been ruled by a transitional military government headed by President Mahamat Idriss Déby since April 2021.

I have encountered a problem I never expected; my boyfriend is quite simply very large. Not everybody’s genitals are immediately compatible when it comes to size and comfort—in fact, some folks are even going as far as getting genital matchmaking surgery, in which partners surgically alter their genitals in order to become the perfect match for each other during sex. But rest assured, you don’t have to go to quite those lengths in order to feel comfortable having sex with your well-endowed partner.

The great thing about being intimate with someone else is that there are endless possibilities for getting down and dirty. It may just take some time to communicate with your partner and get creative. Doing so will likely lead you to some mutually satisfying solutions.
One natural way of getting your body ready is to use the body’s sexual arousal response to your advantage. Spending more time on pre-intimacy has a lot of benefits. In addition to using the body’s physiology, you can also try some other strategies to make your sexual activities more comfortable:
Lubrication: You don’t have to depend solely on your body to get the juices flowing. Using a water-based lube without glycerin or parabens can be a game-changer when it comes to painful penetration, either due to a too-dry vagina or a too-big penis. Friction may cause small tears in your vagina, which cannot only be painful but also increase the risk for things such as yeast infections, urinary tract infections (UTIs), and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), so stock up on a good lube for a smoother ride.

Position: The discomfort you experience when your partner tries to penetrate you fully may be due to the head of their penis hitting your cervix . You could try different sexual positions to help reduce discomfort and increase your pleasure, especially positions that allow you to have control over penetration, movement, and speed (e.g., being on top). You could also try out different positions for MouthAction such as with your partner lying down, standing up, on his knees, or sitting. Maybe one of these angles would make you more comfortable with performing MouthAction.
Technique: Some people feel more comfortable with partial insertion during oral, anal, and vaginal sex. The unenveloped part of the penis, as well as the scrotum or anus, can be stimulated with fingers, hands, or a vibrator. MouthAction doesn’t always have to include taking the penis fully into the mouth or fully into the vagina. Try using your hands on the base of the penis to stroke the part of the shaft that isn’t in your mouth. For penetrative sex in the vagina, you could try the coital alignment technique (or CAT) position, which involves keeping your legs closer together than you normally would during missionary. The closer your legs are to each other, the less likely he’ll go too deep.

As you experiment and play, it’s good to keep the lines of communication open. Tell one another how you feel, what is uncomfortable, and what feels good. This doesn't need to mean carrying out a full conversation while having sex; simple words such as "deeper" or "not so deep," "gently" or "harder," "faster" or "slower" are usually enough to get the point across and make sex more satisfying for both of you. Growing up was like you too. It's quite normal for you to wear shoe depending on where you find yourself. I wear shoes six days a week and for at least 10 hours a day while at work. If you're more of a corporate guy working in a corporate environment, you'll enjoy wearing your Brogues and Oxfords variants more just like me. I stand out at meetings both within and outside the country...simply my addiction to great shoes.

guyz..this habit has been on and off during my teenage years and mom cautioned us against not wearing a foot wear ( shoe particularly) so we dont get peirced by sharp object..we end up weari g them to bed most of the time..and sh comes to remove them

...during my varsity days..in economics department it was mandatory to always wear shoes or sandals by both male nd female, as pam slippers are banned. i prefered shoe cuz of our outlook which usually resemble bankers outlook ( of course pam will make a nonsense of it..
