RomanceRe: I Decide To Stay Single Forever! by uspry1(f): 7:31pm On Dec 06, 2007
I am on the same boat as you are----there is nothing wrong to decide staying single forever!

Let the nature flows just like the bible in the book of Proverbs Chapter 3: 5-8 on my own interpreted favorite scripture verse:

5 Trust the Lord with all your heart, mind, body completely, do not lean your own understanding;
6 acknowledge Him to guide your path smoothly,  clearly, and sharply.
7 do not lean your own wisdom but respect the Lord and stay away from evil spiritiually.
8 If you do this, then it will be like medicine for your body or a refreshing drink that makes you strong again.

One day the Lord will reward you in a mystery way choosing the right person for you. I do not know when? God knows.

TravelRe: Entering Nigeria by uspry1(f): 3:27pm On Dec 06, 2007
If visiting visa does not work for aboard musicians entering to Nigeria, I suggest trying to apply for a single-entry or multiple-entry Business visa for a contracted/authorizied Nigeria organization of  "THE EXPERIENCE LAGOS 2007" performance as follow:

There are required to secure a business visa to enter Nigeria:

1. must have valid passport that has not expire within 6 months and must have one blank visa page.

2. send one business visa application completed and signed with your signature in blue ink. All application Forms under new rules by Nigeria Embassy.are required to be completed using the link below:

http://portal.immigration.gov.ng/Applications/visas/entryvisa.aspx

Note: Follow the step by step instructions on the following screen. The application must be submitted online and with the appropriate Consular fee paid with credit card during the appliction online. Remeber failure to fully complete the application form above may delay the processing of your visa.

3. Two passport photographs. Go to a passport photographer. Digital, homemade and non-passport style photos are not acceptable.

Acceptable Passport Photos Requirement:

You must go to a passport photographer who knows the requirements and has a special passport camera that shoots two identical photos simultaneously. You can have passport photos made at a Kinkos, Sears or look in your local yellow pages under "passport photos". The photos must meet the following requirements:
[li]2X2 inches[/li]
[li]Pale color or white background [/li]
[li]Full face, front view [/li]
[li]The image size measured from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head (including hair) should be no less than 1 inch and not more than 1-3/8 inches. [/li]
[li]The photos must be identical[/li]
[li]The photos must have been taken within the last six months [/li]
[li]Photographs retouched so that your image is changed are unacceptable [/li]
[li]Do not wear a hat or dark glasses unless it is for religious reasons, or if so, please include and explaination [/li]
[li]Wear normal day-to-day attire. Do not wear uniforms [/li]
[li]If you normally wear a wig, hearing aid or prescription glasses, wear them for the photo [/li]
4. Proof of Departure. Submit a computer-generated flight itinerary from your travel agent, airline, or online booking agency or copy of your flight ticket. The itinerary must show the applicant's name, date of arrival and departure from the country, and flight information.

The itinerary is required because the Embassy wants to know the dates you plan to arrive and depart from the country.

5. Pay the consular fee - please check the web site of the Embassy. Processing time are varied from 2 business days to 5 business days. Prices are per applicant.

6. Invitation. Applicants must submit a letter of invitation accepting immigration responsibility or evidence of financial support while in Nigeria from individual Nigerians or Nigerian organizations. Business visa applicants must submit letters of invitation from companies or business organizations stating the reason for the travel.

8. Business Cover Letter. Business visa applicants must submit a business cover letter from a U.S. company indicating purpose of travel, duration and moral and financial responsibilities.

9. ADDITIONAL  Children under 18 years of age who are not accompanied by both parents must submit a letter of consent to enter Nigeria. Members of the clergy or those traveling for reasons related to the church must submit a letter of approval from the Nigerian Department of Immigration.

Persons traveling for religious or education reasons, please check the web site of the Embassy.

BTW, i am not a travel agent nor Embassy staff. All visa information above are the same information on every Embassy everywhere other than USA immigrant service sites. So please check official Embassy website.

Christianity EtcRe: Paying Tithe To Widows And Orphans by uspry1(f): 10:54pm On Dec 05, 2007
@kobojunkie

Does it help answering your question below?

What did Jesus say about tithes?

In Matthew 23:23 Jesus sternly criticized the religious authorities of His day for their distorted spiritual understanding. They were meticulous in tithing on tiny spices and herbs, Jesus said, but "neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith." They should have placed more emphasis on these more important spiritual principles, He said, "without leaving the others undone." Here Christ upheld tithing as a practice that should be followed.

What are the main purpose of using tithes? [tenths, Leviticus 27:32]

There are three purposes of using tithes.

(1) to support the Levites (Numbers 18:21)

(2) to provide for God's people to observe His commanded festivals (Deuteronomy 14:22-27)

(3) to help the poor (verses 28-29)

Numbers 18:21 speaks of God giving the children of Levi all the tithes, or tenths, of the increase. If the Levites were only going to receive part of a tithe, God would not have promised them 10 percent. God, of course, does not lie (Numbers 23:19; Titus 1:2). Similarly, Deuteronomy 14:23 speaks of a person using a tenth, 10 percent, of his increase for festivals, and Deuteronomy 14:28-29 speaks of 10 percent, every third year, to be used to help those in need.

I am a single divorced mother of two children at age 19 and 14 to be raised all those years despite of their father failed to visit them often, he values his job and stupid materistilic more important than his children.

Like @adeboo has said it, i maintain my positive honesty to my children during my divorce times---NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED OF, where their father is. They knows what kind of father he is, they see the true color of him finding it very disgusted but that is their father they respected to.

Turning out both my children are well-mannered, well-educated, and active church youth choir. They both are strongly bonded with me more than their father, because their father missed the opportunity seeing them grow up.

My 19 yr old daughter lives her own place to attend her medical school, to have full time job, and already bought her new car already. She still visits see me frequently more than her father. Her father(my ex-husband) and I live separatedly residence in a short distance, not even see each other.

My 14 yr old son still lives with me attending his high school.

Like you have heard the common quote "divorce are affected to children", it does not happen to me. My children are SUPER-FINE!

In my own opinion you ask me a question "how many women are healthy?"

VERY FEW roughly 1% out of your homestate population that have healthy women out there who stand up strong feet to overcome old scars and take slow in relationship or remain celibate for the rest of her life---not want to carry same old baggage ever again.

I am one of them. Yeah, it is hard to find them healthy strong women out there just like finding a needle on the haystack.

However the poster is a Puerto Rico woman with a English-Spanish speaking in Spanish descent to seek for advices how to make things work with Nigerian guy, she never mentioned whether she is married or engaged or in love with?

TravelRe: Nigerian immigration service website. by uspry1(f): 2:37am On Dec 04, 2007
@hollirigth

That is because you are living in the USA appying for Nigeria VISA electronically via official government immigrant site, NO PROBLEM. No face to face interview requirement!!! It is much quicker process in the US THAN in Nigeria embassy.

If you live in Nigeria applying for VISA electronically on Nigeria official site, you have to through step by step obtaining the barcoded print-out VISA interview appointment to bring all your credible supporting documents FACE TO FACE in person at specified Nigeria consulate office location whether should your VISA approve or not.

Two different story depend on where do you live at to apply for VISA. You are very lucky living in the USA, no problem getting Nigeria VISA to visit Nigeria NO PROBLEM!!!!

EducationRe: Is there any American institution not requiring TOEFL by uspry1(f): 1:44pm On Dec 01, 2007
All college/university in the US are required for all students both US and foreign to take English/Math placement exam or TOEFL the next step after filling out the admission application and paid the application fee.

The reason for requiring English/Math placement exam or TOEFL is to help college/university admission staff to decide which level of English/Math course to place you to the right class. Basic English?, Interimate to English? or Advanced (honor) English? and vice versa for Math.

There is no other way or loophole for TOEFL, you must take testing prior the admission staff to approve or reject you enrolling to college/university.

Finally, I will not help googling it for you, because you mentioned that you have been applied some universities over there. That is obviously you have been searched already!!
EducationRe: Is there any American institution not requiring TOEFL by uspry1(f): 12:37pm On Dec 01, 2007
What is TOEFL?

Google it to find depend on what kind of study you plan to purse for your choice of one American college or university in the US via their ONLINE COLLEGE APPLICATION SUBMISSION with their required international fee that you must pay for. (varied the deadline date of submission, check on US college/university for more information) You are an international student applying for college application.

There are many different majors/college courses to choose. There are more than 10,000 US colleges/universities around the 50 states of the US.

Once your US college/university application has been approved, they will send you a letter of college/university enrollment as a proof of your credible supporting document for your American Embassy to apply for the student visa application at least 2-3 months advance prior to your class start.

Good luck!!!
