agbeabiodu:False doctrine. Although it is good to give, giving does not mean to your church or pastor. Giving includes giving love, support, care and compassion. It also means giving to those in need. Giving like your sowing seed example is not actually giving. It's more like an investment. You are giving in anticipation of profit. That's not what christ preached. |
Abi1985:Churches and pastors are getting bad rep because they use blackmail, threats and all sorts of scam tactics to get poor and desperate people to give them their hard earned money. They threaten members with hell fire, misfortune and tragedies if they don't pay tithes and offerings. When it comes to tithes and offerings Nigerian pastors become Malachians instead of Christians, as christ never preached the gospels according to tithes and offerings. |
mycar:If everything is basically the same, then why the need to shalaye, when they have never needed to explain before? |
Crumbian:Dem no even change colour. Dem only remove some colours from the original colour profile to reduce ink. I am sure to make it cheaper. |
Nauttyprof:Which dollar has been tested to exhibit the same? New Dollar bills does not stain white paper. I have seen dollar bills made in the 90s still looking new. The new N1000 bill I was given yesterday dated 2023 looked old and wrinkled already. This was a bill made less than 1 month ago. |
mycar:Does what the CBN say make any sense at all. They are just talking without actually saying anything. Why is the printing process for the new notes different from the old ones. Is it not the same company that's printing the new notes? Why did the texture of the old notes not improve with dirt? Furthermore, they failed to explain why the new notes stain white paper or white clothes. What happens if you mistakingly wash the new notes? |
Surprised we still have flat earth cranks in this age of space, James Web Teslescope and Google. Which physics and mathematics are these cranks using to support their flat earth nonsense? How does gravity, goedesics and geometry work in their model? They should tell us if the moon, the planets, the sun, the galaxy and the universe are all flat. |
Tinubu talks like an agbero instead of a US schooled graduate. Which on is abuse again? Does he know the meaning of abuse? If you say someone abused you in the US, it would be criminal case. The person will be arrested. As a digression. I remember when I was in England I informed a white friend I had an appointment with that I came late because I had a stranger in my house. The Oyimbo guy became alarmed and asked if I called the police. I had to explain that stranger in UK has a different meaning from stranger in Nigeria. Obasanjo and Atiku never Abused each other, instead they insulted each other. In that case Tinubu and Femi Pedro abused each other. |
Donjazet2:It's a pity Seun and the moderators have allowed this section to become a cesspool. It's diminishes the commercial value of the whole site. It's being taken over by uncultured and mannerless youths spewing vile insults every post. |
If Donald Trump carries the banner of my party I think it taints conservatism for generations to come. I think his campaign is opportunistic, race batting, religious bigotry, and xenophobia." - Lindsay Graham 2016 https://youtube.com/watch?v=qI3MgHdn9MQ&feature=shares Senator Lindsay Graham should qualify as a prophet. Everything he predicted about Trump came to pass |
budaatum:No Democrat can ever vote McCarthy. He foolishly started attacking democrats even before the votes were counted. He promised to strip democrats of all commitee appointments. So what's the incentive for any democrat to vote for McCarthy? |
MiaBeer:You underestimate the long term effect of slavery on the psyche of Nigerians. They would support the remnants the slave institution with their lives. |
AmazonTopaz:Not just black ancestry, but Nigerian ancestry. Instead of us to support her against our slave master, we instead side with the slave master to crucify our own. Black race will never escape mental slavery. Prince Harry should be admired for going against the British monarchy to marry one of our own.
|
God1000:The reverse should be the question, how long will the family continue to be at loggerheads with Prince Harry? Prince Harry had physchological and mental issues as a result of what his mother went through culminating in her trajic death. The royal family did not see it fit to provide adequate physchological help when he needed it. Harry and his wife is passing through what Lady Diana passed through at the hands of the royal family. They can't deal with individualism and being different, everyone must conform their rules and regulations. |
Raheeqilmaktoom:Yes that's the most important reason, and many prominent Yorubas and some detrabilised Fulanis agree. Nigeria's presidency cannot be a musical chair between the Yorubas and Fulanis. |
Nchenches:Tribalism and personal interests. |
mach7:Yes. Many people are supporting Obi for altruistic reasons. Obi does not have naira or dollars to throw around. Obi does not have political acolytes sponsoring his campaign and following him up and down. Obi is still relatively young and mentally fit compared to your principal. And last of all, Nigeria political space should not be dominated by Yoruba - Fulani. There are other ethnic groups in Nigeria. Do you even know the real meaning of democracy? |
Rollins777:Quit tribal politics. Many northerners had voted for Jonathan and Obasanjo in the past. |
mach7:Some Nigerians still have a functional conscience. That can put national interest above personal, tribal and religious interests. Any one that supports Tinubu does so due to personal selfish interests. Tinubu is not physically or mentally fit to govern Nigeria or anything else. |
aikyg:Why not ask why she is marrying a homeless destitute. |
Ladymillion:What do you mean don't cut her off completely. You Nigerians know how to give stupid advice. A woman that sends her only son out of his father's house, into the streets without care how he will survive just because of her selfish sexual desires, and you say don't cut her off completely. Well she has already cut him off completely in the first place. The worst is she is blackmailing the son by threatening to kill hetself because she knows she has no legal or moral standing to send the son out of his father's house. Even if the OP moves out, he should get a lawyer involved to make sure that the house is not sold without his consent or that the new husband should not start claiming the house should anything happen to his mother. |
DMerciful:Igbo in Delta had never, and I repeat NEVER been part of the larger Igbo nationality politically. In 1939 when the British divided the southern protectorate into Western and Eastern provinces, Asaba was put into the Western province. Also when the provinces were converted to regions in 1954 in preparation for independence, Asaba remained with western Nigeria. After the referendum of 1963, Asaba choose to go with Mid-Western Nigera instead of joining the Igbos in Eastern Nigeria. Separating the Aniomaa from their Western Nigeria/Mid-Western Nigeria/ Delta political brothers will be complicated. |
attackgat:He could make a prediction because he was part of the team negotiating for Nigeria's independence and was the recognised leader of the Yorubas. There are no negotiations on biafra and there is no recognised igbo leader showing support for biafra. With worsening insecurity, rising inflation, stalled economy and political instability, it is safe to say that the centre will not always hold, and Nigeria may well be heading for disintegrationinsecurity, rising inflation and stalled economy does not lead to disintegration. If it does 90% of countries of the world would be disintegrating. Political instability is one thing that can lead to disintegration and I don't see political disingration in Nigeria yet. The politicians (and the military)are united in keeping Nigeria one. Maybe the fall out of the 2023 elections can cause political rift within the political class that can lead to disintegration. Igbos are one tribe that have consistently shown they want independence from Nigeria. They have agitated for it, they have fought a war for it and they have consistently spoken about it. They even designate 30th of May every year as "Biafran Day"False. Igbos were the one that wanted and fought for Nigeria's unity. Igbos head of state was the one that abolished the confederate system and decreed a unitary system in January 1966. Its was because of the pogrom in 1966, a direct result of the January 1966 coup that made igbos to decide to leave Nigeria. After they lost the war, they accepted one Nigeria once more. Like Awolowo once did many years ago, I forsee Igbos legally gaining independence from Nigeria on 30th May 2025. I may be off by monthsExcept something drastic happens in 2023 and the political and military classes completely disintegrates, I don't see the country splitting. |
co787:I am happy to hear you and your daughter are doing fine. I loved how you handled the situation. You daughter would be proud of how you love and protected her when she was a vulnerable toddler. You will definitely find a better woman who would put you and your children above her extended family. Peace. |
Sleekfingers:Rural areas ke? Even most people in cities including Lagos are not aware of currency change. You think everyone is on Internet and social media? Emefiele and the banks have not fine any awareness campaign outside social media. |
unclejb2:Since its valid until Jan 31, 2023, ATM should dispense the old notes until midnight on Jan 31 2023. By February 1 2023, all the cash in our hands and wallets will magically change to the new notes. The old notes will require a minimum of 3 months to be replaced by the new ones, started from the day the banks stop circulating the old notes. |
Peterosky:If you are talking specifically about the change of currency, I support it in principle. It is the way Emefiele is implementing I am quarrelling with. How can you change a country's currency without the imput of all critical stakeholders. How can the country's lawmakers, finance ministry and others in the banking sector be completely unawares on it? The lawmakers are supposed to be the representatives of the people, they are the one that's supposed to budget for it. Changing currency is no small matter, the design, printing, distribution and withdrawal of the old currency requires logistic planning. Let's just wait and see the chaos unfolding within the Nigerian currency in the next few months. |
Peterosky:Perfect on monetary policy? Which monetary policy had Emefiele implemented in the 8 years in charge of Central Bank of Nigeria? Is it the dollar he met at less than N200 he met in 2014 and is now over N700? Is the absolute lack of regulation on the banks that steal depositors money without restrictions? Is it the corrupt and opaque currency market regime that makes it practically impossible for honest Nigerians to buy foreign currency at CBN rates? Is it the the policy of making our debit and credit cards useless for international transactions making it difficult to pay for goods and services abroad? The way he is implementing this currency change is so chaotic that its a disaster waiting to happen. We will beganto see the consequences in January. |
AdaojoTheUrchin:I know he is your brother, so he must be defended without even looking into the allegations. That's the Nigerian spirit. |
dgr8truth:E shock me o. Buhari be like decoration inside Aso Rock. Everyone is doing as he or she pleases with no control. Nigeria is like a rudderless ship without a captain in the open ocean. Imagine Emefiele changing Nigeria's currency without approval from national assembly or the finance ministry. I will not be surprised if Buhari himself was not aware. |
CaptainFM1:I am surprised and disappointed you are still attempting to justify such ill adviced and thought out policy. You sound reasonably educated to understand my arguments that up to 45% of adult Nigerians are unbanked and the informal sector is mainly cash based. For example, I went to computer Village using BRT yesterday to repair one of my phones that had a broken screen. Where I bought a BRT ticket worth N1,000, there was a long queue of people also buying ticket. The ticket vendor's money pouch was full of money, not less than 300,000. When I got to computer village, I bought the replacement screen for N15,000. There was also queue there of people buying phone parts, all with cash. You mean to tell me you expect everyone to be transacting business with phones with our atrocious network and Internet services. It's practically impossible. As I said, you are only supporting this policy in a desperate bid to support "our brother", if it was Sanusi that introduced such policy without it being well thought out, you will be the first to condemn him. Even Honourable Kazaure, a so-called less educated northerner, whom you guys like to call cows, succinctly explained the impracticality of the policy below. https://youtube.com/watch?v=5zsV8m7fsQQ&feature=shares I implore people to watch the YouTube link above to the end. Hon Kazaure made damning allegations against Godwin Emefiele including giving loans to terrorists (I am sure IPOB). Instead of people to demand due process is followed, people are already entering their tribal and religious shells. |
Originalsly:Gbam! Each note has a serial number, and each note is supposed to have a serialised number. abi na photocopy dem photocopy the bank notes? |
