"Dear men" ![]() "These girl" ![]() The two expressions above summarise the self righteousness of men in Africa. |
jimmychang:Your question is senseless. What is "this mindset"? Freedom? And what do you call development? Tall houses and big firms? Every country is continuously developing so when exactly is "before America had this mindset"? Your question is an extremely naive one, I'm sorry. You a proud black man but really, what do you know about not being black? What do you know about racial dichotomy as a black man in an all black nation? From your question, it's very obvious you don't know anything about the complexity of America's racial diversity and that's why you're talking about "before America had this mindset". It is practically impossible for anyone to force their opinion on others in the US like y'all do in Nigeria. Provided one isn't breaking the law, no one gives a damn. If you don't like what I'm doing, don't do it. It's that simple. Minding one's business is the basic principle of survival in such a country and I'm not the one to tell anyone what he's doing is wrong cause it's not what people in my society do. If we all start dragging each other for what is wrong or right, America will go into flames. |
Sad. Embarrassing. Annoying. Is any of those names Nigerian? |
jimmychang:There's nothing like "this mindset" in America. It's a diverse country and people respect the fact that everyone is different. The law tries to protect lives and properties, not tell people what to do. Learn to mind your business, black man! |
Why are Nigerians misbehaving like school children? Should she kill herself? Some are already calling her "smelly". You're abusing someone you don't know cause she's different? Why do people like discrimination? |
This thread clearly shows the difference between Africa and the western world. A lot of people on here cursing him and saying all sorts of terrible things cause he did what they wouldn't do. While people in the west wouldn't it give it a second look if the act doesn't tally with their opinion. Africans need to learn how extremely diverse humans are. What you've been taught to be the standard is simply a function of your micro society. Stick with it if you wish but don't call out others for not tagging along with you. I'm led to believe that the problem with Africa is that most of the cities there are not diverse enough so people are used to a narrow way of life. |
duduade:Lol... Nigerian forums though. Y'all never disappoint. So youngsters asking for advice on their career journey are just seeking validation? What's with the "did you tell us"? Even if she had told when she was chasing the two jobs, wouldn't you ask if she told you when she was studying the course? So where do you intend on draw the "telling" line? It's OK if you don't have an answer to her question but you didn't need to undermine the question or make it look as if it's not valid. The big company vs small company confusion is a common one for freshers and the least you could do was to walk away if you didn't have anything to say instead of attempting to shut her down or dismiss her question. |
Kestolove:Seriously? Horrible comment right here... |
What is happening in Nigeria?? |
Best of luck |
Great skills! |
OP, you're too bitter. There's no way to relate with you. Just read your comments above, horrible. |
Yes. The first movie that made me cry was White Frog. |
Alexaonfleek:Welcome to Nigeria. |
sammy329:Lol... Sanctioning means there'll mind their business in certain areas Nigeria has been enjoying. |
Yamiriflathead:It's the guy proposing in the first two pictures you shared though. NB: You need not be rude to that guy. |
freecocoahubby:When she proposes, na she carry am for head. When she doesn't, african women are always waiting for the man to make the first move. What do you want?! Why not just appreciate the news and move on? Not everything is a gender fight. |
Uzomacharles:Relationship? Is that what y'all call first date in Nigeria? Why do you let ego come in the way of logic? You walked up to a girl and convinced her to go out with you and then you turn around to start dictating where the meeting must be? The girl hasn't even accepted to be your girl and you're already fighting for who's in charge? Wow... |
Chii59:Sorry, I thought it was a social discussion. Ok. |
Chii59:Egalitarianism is broad and it takes more precise descriptions when applied to a specific aspect of life. The struggle against racism is egalitarianism in the area of race. The fight against sexism/misogyny (aka feminism) is egalitarianism in the area of gender. The fight against tribalism is egalitarianism in area of tribe. The fight against homophobia is egalitarianism in the area of sexual orientation. The fight against religious bigotry is egalitarianism in the area of religion. Etc. So you can't say you're not a feminist but an egalitarian cause that's contradictory. Feminism is egalitarianism in the area of gender. |
I don't think coming online to type "men ain't shit" is feminism. Seems more like a newbie trying to get into the centre of the romance section frivolous discussions by all means. And it doesn't make you any different from Nairaland woman bashers. You need men. Men need you. That bit shouldn't be disputed and feminism is not about denying that. Feminism is not about coming online to insult men, that's called misandry. Feminism is about getting rid of the gender bias and speaking up when you observe it. It's not necessarily a community that you have to identify with and you definitely don't don't need the label. If you're an advocate of gender equality, your comments and actions will announce that. |
Obsession |
Activist001:Some of these animals are 'invasive'. So don't be surprised when you wake up to see a fist-size spider on your pillow. Lol. Nevertheless, given the nature of the environment, people are used to many ways to keep these guys out. And animal control is topnotch there too. |
dimexy247:I think he meant when it comes to animals. Even though Australian animals are usually oversized, I personally think Africa has more dangerous animals. However, the difference is that most dangerous African beasts are far away from human habitat while it's not uncommon see these oversized (and occasionally harmless) Australian animals near human habitat. |
Babaken:Lol... possibly. |
They do look alike. |
As usual |
She didn't change a bit! |
The only way to make your locally manufactured goods to be cheaper than imported ones is by buying them. It sounds crazy but that's the reality. Technically, cost of production is reduced when goods are manufactured and sold in high quantity. Nigerian farmers don't have the resources to produce in high quantity so they have to keep the price up to sustain cost and consequently their business as a whole. When you keep buying them and they keep expanding, the cost/price will keep coming down until local goods are cheaper than the imported ones. In case you want to read more, this is called the economy of scale. We have a similar issue here as well but ours isn't going away anytime soon cause we have a gigantic producer nextdoor and regardless of how we consume our goods, that producer will always have population/market advantage (but we still buy local products partly to support the economy and partly cause of other advantages one get from consuming locally made products). However, Nigeria is the giant in this case but poor management hasn't let the country convert its size into economic power. Even with the big market there, mechanization is still low thus making it difficult for the country to take advantage of the economy of scale. Again, people believe it's more "luxurious" to consume foreign goods in Nigeria. |
streetsoldier1:Does it really? The land and sea breeze says that at night, the air above sea surface is warmer than the air above the land surface due to the heat retained during the day thus making the upper part of the water to be warmer than the deeper part. It doesn't necessarily mean the water will be warmer at night. If the temperature is high during the day, the water will be warm during day, the land will be warm and the air will also be generally warm. What the theory holds is that during this time, the air above the land surface is warmer that the one above the land surface and at night, the reverse is the case. However, this does not negate the overall drop in temperature. |
oyinkinola:Well, I'm not an expert here but I still don't seeing the logic. Will you also sell the DISCO's? The river is damed in Nigeria, right? So regardless of who owns NEPA/PHCN, power would still be exported from Nigeria and the amount retained for internal consumption wouldn't change. It is the amount generated for internal use that is being distributed by DISCO's. So if the holding company is sold and the power is still generated in Nigeria with the same amount of it distributed internally, what would change exactly? I don't think anything would cause they wouldn't come and manage our portion for us just like we aren't managing whatever we're giving them now. Our DISCO's would remain the same and our tools, machines and other resources used to manage internally consumed power would remain the same. It is also worth noting that the power consumption in Nigeria is more than production and while electricity is fairly constant in some regions in these other relatively smaller countries, there are some regions in the these same countries that don't enjoy that. I believe what we need is to invest into purchasing the tools/machineries/skillset needed to increase output and distribute that across the country while enforcing compliant and operational auditing at all levels of the power supply business. |

yet the mumu man thinks he has a wife at home. Married men, tell me what you actually benefit from marriage? There's a strong chance that even the children will lean more towards their lazy mothers despite all the years you've spent laboring to put a roof over their ungrateful heads..
