Our society is unfair to women but women then choose to be unfair to themselves, that's what baffles me most.

You have a sense of entitlement. Many people abroad work to pay their fees, even those with parents. We are sometimes over indulged in Nigeria.

My friend, the way i live my life without disappointment is to believe nobody owes me anything and anything anybody gives me is a privilege. Go and work and pay your fees. Writing exams for people isn't work, get your lazy ass up and get a job.

I sensed it was him myself when I saw the analysis as that is exactly how Sagamite does his analysis. In fact go back to his posting history and you’ll clearly see that they post the same way. He is a good boy when he is using Gamesmart as he doesn't abuse people that much with this monica but a bad boy when he is using Sagamite as he abuses people a lot with that monica. Third world consultant doctors are the equivalent of interns in real countries.
I'm not against paying mega salaries for doctors but u have to earn it. You can't be diagnosing every ailment as malaria and be expecting to be paid top dollar.
I had an experience with a consultant once in a 'leading' hospital who wanted my wife to do an evacuation because she was bleeding and the pregnancy was in a very early stage. I had to disagree, took her elsewhere to get a second opinion which countered the first and the baby was actually saved. Imagine how much damage is done daily by our quacks.
I pity the uneducated and less privileged in this country. They are at the mercy of you quacks.

They use taxpayers money to subsidise their training, pay them 180k immediately after school, 130k at nysc, and they write USLMEand PLAB and leave to practise in UK and US. No wonder more naija trained docs practise abroad than at home....and it will even get worse.

Nigeria is a failed system including the educational system. Most of you, assuming you are a doctor are not properly trained. You spend years in school but after graduating you are still not qualified to be called doctors in the developed society. Abi i lie?

My point is that i think our doctors are too arrogant even when we all know they are half baked. Nothing makes a doctor more special than any other professional. Policemen save lives and put their lives on the line also, yet there are also poorly paid.

The govt of Ebonyi is broke and u all are here lamenting. I earn more than majority of doctors i know and i will be willing to take a pay cut if need be because I'm passionate about my job.

Most private hospitals don't pay full doctors with experience that 130k sef. Some doctors nor dey see reach 100k a month.

What Do you expect a nurse on duty to do with a new patient while he was busy with another patient in labor? It's called priority.Besides the fact there were only two nurses on duty...in a general hospital where there should be at least 4 per ward...inclusive of intern. And only one doctor on duty... Who might also be an intern.

In health related issues..you just don't " use anything " to handle procedures. Healthcare workers using kerosene lantern while suturing or handling an invasive procedure itself is a health risk.No matter how skilled you are.chances of infection and cross Infection is high. Besides you could land yourself with a medico legal hazard Instances.

Lame excuse. Do you know how many lives are saved in community centres in the rural areas? It's beyond using lanterns. Your attitude and passion for the job is very important.
Administer whatever first aid is available. Try to stabilize the patient, then you can refer the patient somewhere. The important thing is how you go about it.

Haven't you seen medical personnel attending to people in areas where disaster has occurred? Stability is the first step and key. Stabilize then move on. Come back and then try and alleviate the issue. We have seen 5 doctors attending to 500 people who are badly wounded and at the end of the day only a few usually end up dying.

Any hospital that doesn't have the most basic stuff like bandages, basic saline drips, painkillers should fold up. The medical personnel there should go and sell roasted yam.

If you guys have no doctors or inadequate personnel then please close the hospital.
It's not an excuse you are giving. The duty of every medical personnel is to save life. Imagine how silly you are to say what you have said and called it a defence.
Haven't you met doctors who try to save accident victims even when they do not have their kits with them? They use whatever is available and make an attempt. No matter the situation, the medical personnel should make an attempt to help, reassure the patient and kindly refer them somewhere else.
This is not usually the case as our Nigerian nurses and doctors are arrogant and treat you like thrash.
Like the Nigerian society, you are only treated with respect if you have money.
Mr/Madam nurse, you excuse or defense is lame. The family of the man should have lynched you also. You people's attitude and not lack of facilities caused the man's death.
