dunkem21: You sound one sided..
From the video, the agent said that the result in his hand is different from what INEC announced.
.. and you're telling them to go and rest instead of admonishing them to kick start a parallel government as proposed by one Saint. so they should go ahead with the protest? what if there is eventual breakdown of law and order? and is there no lay down procedures to address aggrieved election matters or what? let whichever party agent who is aggrieved keep their evidence for proper court ruling |

It is a pity that the international media have been reporting recent boko haram attacks, with the local media shunning such correspondences.
With the news that insurgents have captured three villages in the north east and hoisted their flags, we can deduce that Buhari's victory over boko haram is just a hyperbole and distortions. but your assertions are absurd to any rational mind. first of all, boko haram is named the deadliest group due to the number of people they have killed since year adua till date. though the majority occurred under gej. moreover they were holding LGs, in different states not just 3 villages as u insinuated. hardly you hear news of BH overrunning barracks, markets, schs. worship centres as they used to. hate buhari or love him, his one significant achievement that a RATIONAL mind cannot deny is his war on BH . he has done reasonably well in that regard. |

ivandragon: when a president states that his main goal is to fight corruption & recover looted funds, I don't think one can over flog such issue because it is a cardinal point of his regime.
the FG gave an erroneous perception.
If i remember correctly, before March or April, the presidency claimed to have recovered billions of dollars & promised to mention names only to renegade on the promise of mentioning names & for Nigerians to find out that what has been recovered is less than $500m (which by the way is quite substantial but far less than the impression given).
it is like what happened with the independence day celebration accusations.
the APC went about banding false figures only for the truth to reveal that the figures were far less than previously stated, but by then, the damage had been done.
if tomorrow, the FG loses it cases in court, where then would have been the logic in publishing those figures? pls I think you mixing the issues up. the official figure declared by the fg govt are monies recovered from plea bargains which is already in govt account. so such monies are not a subject to court rulings again. and yes every govts all over the world has their propaganda machine irrespective of the party in power. the beauty of democracy is you can be voted out when your performance is bad. |

Pavarottii: If it's not show, den it's for wat? How does making statement b4 going to court affect the case. They r just tarnishing ones image and saying one is guilty b4 the case is judged. So it is highly wrong and unprofessional. there is what many people don't consider before making assertions as you are doing, the press. believe you me there is hardly a way you can keep this thing away from the press. they will surely come asking tones of questions that you have to provide answers to. and in some case the accused persons even take it to press knowing how we are divided religiously and ethnically. don't give the press information and you will hear how there is freedom of information bill and what not. |

ivandragon: why are you this childish in your reasoning?
can't you be reasonable in your responses?
please, please & please... if you always resort to infantile rants when an opinion contrary to yours in raised, then do well to avoid starting a discussion with me.
I once referred to you as the 'blankpanda', when you resorted to your silly tendencies, but I refuse to wallow in your shallow filth of twisted reasoning.
you may wish to pretend that people like the former governors of Lagos, Ekiti & Rivers have petitions with EFCC as do the serving governors of Osun & Edo.
when the FG was claiming that it had 'recovered' billions of dollars, where were you? even when people pointed out that assets in dispute cannot be termed recovered assets, the FG insisted that it had accomplished the recovery of billions of dollars.
it was when Nigerians requested that such recovered funds be pumped back into the economy that the FG stated that it was impossible to do so because of the pending court cases. I think you are over flogging the issue of recovered funds. the fg clearly differentiated btw monies people voluntarily returned and confiscated assets. I can still remember the info minister giving the figures and explaining how the money recovered so far can not pay fg wages. I have not read where the govt lay claim to confiscated assets and funds under contention in the courts. rather the efcc has constantly maintain that the courts will decide on such cases. but again our judicial system is filled with loopholes and too slow such that is quite difficult to deliver quick judgement as is expected. and then, there is a plea bargain that most of these politicians enter into with efcc. so in a corruption case where a big thief is box to the corner, he takes the plea bargain option and everything dies down. |

Babzilla: If Im goong to write about corruption space no go dey. To fight corruption you need to understand the true nature of its origins. Fighting corruption goes beyond just arresting people in positions of authority who looted. How do we move from being afraid to be arrested to actually sitting down to do the right thing. I have worked in several organizations and honestly we have a long way to go.. we necer even start. No matter how you put laws and penalties to dissuade us from stealing we always try to find a way to beat tye system refusing to work, and stealing among otuer fraidulent activities....and whenthey do others hail them as being smart these are people who are not in authority who are being monitored... imagine such an individual niw given a position with minimal supervision that person cant work.
The truth is there is very very few Nigerians who you will put in any posotion of authority who wont steal or participate in acts of corruption. Its in our culture. If you dont loot the same Nigerians will call you mumu. To fight this it starts with everyone trying to do his /her best.. which brings the "change begins with me" concept which is cool but how many people acknowledge their part i making this country the way it is? Everyone will claim he is innocent and point fingers in our usual fashion. Nigerians believetrue change starts from the top but the reality is it starts from the bottom. finally you have what i was looking for from the gentleman that insinuated that all of us are corrupt. mind you, you said very very few nigerians will not steal given a position. very few here does not mean all. the point i have been making all this while. to your other point about corruption fight, i have agreed with you as you can see in my quote. the manner of fighting the menance is always a flash point. but i quoted you because you had insinuated that we do not admit the sytemic corruption. read again your point that made me to quote you and my submission carefully, then you will get what i said. thanks |

My issue is with the lack of integrity in our journalism, such that the journalist spinned such a commendable story into a negative one, and the fact that the vas majority our youth are illiterates who cannot read, understand and analyse a publication.
The average professional in any of our oil companies or multinationals is earning way more than our Ministers based on the figures published. my brother, you are so on point. |

We still do not admit there is a problem .. we are still pointing fingers amd lookong for scapegoats you are totally wrong here. if you read about Nigeria, the president has on numerous occasions cited corruption as a major problem of the nation. the citizens generally agree on this as well. you will also read about the fight against it and monies people indicted have returned. the point of disagreement is always the manner in which the fight is done, basically because of our ethnic and religious divide |

Are you not ashamed that your President, VP, 36 ministers, Special advisers, Speech writers, Directors General, Accountant General of the Federation, Permanent Secretaries, CEOs of agencies and INEC Resident Electoral Commissioners between all of them made only £4m?
Where the highest earning of them (President) collects only N3.5m per year or N300k per month?
