Please read carefully what I wrote. Simple comprehension but let Me break it down; Without Canadian Degrees in a labour/ skill/ worker shortage occupation and Canadian experience, It would be almost impossible to get a Middle class paying job in Canada.

Canada does not recognize Professional qualifications from third world countries. Even Nigerian medical professors and specialists do not have their nigerian degrees and qualifications accepted or recognized for practice or medical work in Canada.

If You have another opinion, let the thread know

Canadian University education and Canadian work experience like internship is what is generally most times accepted by Canadian employers for middle class Canadian jobs

Ok there is element of truth in your comment but let's be careful how we Nigerians like to make arguments with very strong opinion unless you are 100% sure that you are accurate.

1) It is not impossible to get a decent job in Canada with a foreign degree, that's just not true and this is a myth being thrown around by a lot of people. It depends on what you studied and how you positioned yourself, if you were a banker in Nigeria, you must be flexible to take a job different from what you were doing in Nigeria e.g some kind of analyst in an insurance company or similar sector and ready to learn new skills very fast.

A friend of mine moved to Canada directly from Nigeria and he got a job in less than 6 month in Saskatchewan. All his education was from Nigeria, he worked in the financial sector in Nigeria.

Another also came in 2016 all education from Nigeria, also financial sector experience, landed in Calgary, got a job within a year he is now a business analyst also in Saskatchewan, it took him that long because he did not stay back, he was spending most of his time in Nigeria to keep his Nigeria job until he found a job in Canada. All you need to do is evaluate your education and get as a proof that it is up to Canadian standard. I did it and interestingly, no employer ever asked to see proof of evaluation of my education. Not bragging, I work for big brands as a consultant.

I am not using my self as an example because I have European education and work experience before moving here. If I compared myself and those guys, nothing make me different in what we have all achieved or will still achieve.

Your other point on Canada not recognizing professional education from 3rd world countries, well not exactly, they just want to be sure that you are truly qualified and put you through tests before letting you handle people's lives. Now the the licensing process for medical professional has being relaxed than it was before and it is worth the hassle because the pay is very good.

In other specializations such as I.T Accounting/Financial services, engineering etc, why would anyone do certification that is not internationally recognized? And if you did, all you need to do is update your certification with the ones that is recognized. It will only take you a couple of months to get most certification that you think will help you.

If I go into Nigerian gatherings any day, virtually everyone is doing fantastic with their jobs and their lives. Although this is because most Nigerians in Canada have good immigrant status and that is the key but I only discuss your argument here which is about whether or not your Nigerian education is recognized and based on that, you will not have good jobs. I say that is not true.
It depends on you.
the school is no more in existence as it closed finally in june 2013 after financial troubles.
Saint Paul's College was a private, historically black college located in Lawrenceville, Virginia. Saint Paul's College opened its doors on September 24, 1888. Saint Paul’s College offered undergraduate degrees for traditional college students and distant learning students in the Continuing Studies Program. The school also offered adult education to help assist working adults to gain undergraduate degrees. Saint Paul's College have a Single Parent Support System Program that assist single teen parents to gain a college education. The college had long experienced significant financial difficulties, culminating in a court conflict with its regional accreditor the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in 2012. Throughout the 2012-2013 school year, the college sought to merge with another institution, but on June 3, 2013, the board announced the college would close on June 30, 2013.[4][/bold]

(OFF-TOPIC)

Are u guys seeing what I am seeing? Anything wey blacks dey run go just bankrupt. A school as old as 1888 should have been one of the US best colleges. Most black schools in the US are either folding up or substandard that nobody wants to go there except blacks themselves. Even the very ambitious blacks do not want to be there. Even Detroit bankrupts? A predominantly black city and the question is why?

1.Asides ambrose and echiejile,we don't have full backs
2.Abeg take Bright Dike,a goal against Catalonia, another against Italy.what other proof again?
3.Mikel dey gass out during the game, true talk.
4.Abeg dey follow Musa talk Big boss.
5.We wish you well,well done.

Its as simple as that. Infact ur no 2 comment in bold is the reason why the coaches will not listen to all these advice from random ppl. The guy that wrote this letter is just complicating things. He is implying that Keshi had been doing nothing since. The coach had tried as many players as the time permits him to. A major reason why we failed to shine at the Confederations Cup was because he was still trying out new guys.

If Keshi must try all the names that he threw out in his letter, we will never be ready before the world cup. And a big reason to note that the writer is not to be taken seriously is his exclusion of a players like Bright Dike and Uche Nwofor. Dike was only given 2 opportunities and he scored critical goals in both ocassions. Uche was only tried once and he scored 2 fantastic goals that decides the match, If to him, players like Nwofor and Dike are not good enough to be taken to world cup, so all the names he is throwing up might never be good enough too.

My advice to Keshi is to simply keep things simple and only invite a few players to be tried out for a stronger midfield and select the best from the players that we have now. We don't have the time to experiment anymore, the only time we have left is to consolidate and blend our current team. Otherwise we will never be ready for the world cup if at this moment we are still trying out players.

Computers / Re: 11 Reasons You Should Quit Facebook In 2014 by Anvaller: 6:08pm On Jan 02, 2014
Guys, the reason why some of u are feeling a need to deactivate ur FB account is because u over engrossed urselves in FB in the 1st place. U plunged into it like plunging into the depth of a sea and of course, u might drown if care is not taken.

These are my tips for using FB

1) Don't be an attention seeker on FB: U mustn always post ur beautiful pictures. (E.G in my own case, I only put pictures of beautiful scenery and nature from the places I have been. I don't post pictures showing my self) Although some ppl can't do these, they just like to be seen, they love the attention but for me its easy, I love my privacy a lot.

2) Stop seeking for likes and compliments for every post. I have seen friendships hitting the rock just because one did not say happy birthday to the other. Or because one like the friend's post and the other doesn't like back.. and I am talking about grown up ppl, not teenagers.

3) Spend less time on FB a total of 30 mins in 24hrs is enough

4) Use FB mainly as a source of giving and accessing info e.g sharing links.

5) Keep ur private information to urself: Infos under "about" such as engaged, married, single, complicated relationship, where u live, where u have lived, ur education etc are not necessary. I always wonder why ppl feel the need to live those information on FB.

If u use this approach, u wont feel any serious need to close ur FB account. because there is little or no info or drama to be found there anyway.

I have a question for you

If you had the opportunity of sending your first son to any higher institution of your choice.
Which one would it be, poly or uni?

If I were to be in Nigeria and part of a committee to debate this and determine a way forward for Nigeria on this particular topic. I can imagine how very frustrated one can become if u have to debate ppl like destino. Are u just taking a stand to win an argument or u honestly want to see reason? The answer to ur question is so simple, I would advice anyone to go to uni in Naija if they can but the point that is being made here is, that is not how it is supposed to be because that is not how it is in the developed countries.

It is obvious that some ppl like it to remain this way so they can say "well I am a uni grad, I am better than a poly grad" The reason why we are backward is obvious. We don't reason objectively, craps like sentiment, egocentrism, discrimination etc control our sense of judgment and in that case there is no way forward.

Soyedele1: This is what I personally know about University Graduate and Polytechnic Graduate..I am using Engineering and others as a case study..

I want the poly Grad to quickly answer this questions;

Why are Poly grad calls Technicians and Uni grad Engineers?

Why cant Poly grads do Masters straight without going thru PGD? I guess it is only a third class uni grad that will also do PGD before doing Masters?

Why do Poly Grads have to go back to 200lvl when they want to do DE?

In uni, for engineering students, You do induction and You are part of the NSE(Nigeria Society of Engineers)..is that also applicable to Poly Grads?

When you get employed as a BSc Holder, you start from Level 8 step 2, do you know the level a HND grad starts from?

Let me stop from here. once I have answers, I will cont with a real life experience of my Boss

Ok dude, u seem not to understand some reasons.

Poly masters are required to do pgd before masters not because they rate them as equal to a 3rd class uni grad but because they have to take a so called bridging course. This is how it is done all over the world. If u want to convert from an academic stream to another academic stream, it only makes sense to require u to take a bridging course. This has nothing to do with ur smartness level. In Europe, if u studied in University of Applied Sciences for example and u for a reason would like to do ur masters in a University of Life Sciences, U will be required to do a 1 year pre master bridging course. Whereas u would have just gone ahead and do ur masters directly if u chose to do it in another University of applied sciences. The problem is that we dont understand the reasons why we do many things in Nigeria, we just do it because that is how we have been doing it even if it is stupid. Nobody asks questions, nobody evaluates.

If poly grads go to 200 level for DE, do u not see that it is ridiculous? This comes back to the fact that our educational standard is crap and I will explain to u. These university lecturers assume that a guy coming from poly is used to a practical way of studying whereas the study environment in a university is research oriented (though not in all cases) since we have a stupid system where nobody thinks or ready to think, all they could do is just slam 200 levels on poly graduates. In a developed educational system, what they do is bring u in at the 3rd year and give u extra courses on the side. The essence is to get u to do courses that adapt u to research approaches because that is obviously what differentiate ur new study of choice from ur formal study.

Concerning level at which u start a job, it has been a constant discussion in Nigeria that HND and BSC should be equally paid but because ppl like u who probably has a BSC will feel less important if it is allowed, the discussion remains unending till today not for any good reason but just discrimination. Whereas in other countries where they know what they are doing, graduates of college, universities and equivalent degrees are all on the same payscale.

The question that should be more important to u is what is happening to Nigeria and the way we do things?

And just an FYI for u, I have studied both in Nigeria and abroad, I have both HND and BSC that is being discussed here and I have been exposed to both Europe and North America's job market so I am talking from experience hence the reason for my particular interest in this topic. The point is to inform.

Omila007:

It's appears so because we are in an under developed country where we do more of operation, implementation and maintenance
Which is the job of technologists from polytechnic and there curriculum is designed to achieve that.
Our engineer's can hardly create nor design with our educational curriculum lagging far behind that of the developed world.
Imagine for Fortran 77 a programming language of 1977 still in our curriculum.
We still do manual engineering drawing while we have all kinds of Cad software(autocad, solidwork, master cam, inventor) etc out there being implemented in curriculums around the world.

Thank u pal, these are the stuffs I think we should be concerned about and this is exactly what was on my mind when I wrote this in my earlier comment:
"it is just funny that some university folks are talking down poly folks. One thing u don't know is that u just think u are better cos the society makes u think u are better. Whether university or poly, u are all products of an archaic dysfunctional educational system"
Education / Re: Hnd Is Equivalent To A Bsc by Anvaller: 5:13pm On Dec 30, 2013
Relax guys,

From what I have seen from the arguments here, everything still boil down at typical Naija mentality. Some with university degree are trying hard to rubbish HND so they can feel important with their university degrees, whereas we should be discussing the real issues, in the real sense of things, an HND certificate might be more relevant and regarded than even a BSC depending on specialization.

HND is equivalent to BSC in terms of level of education achieved. Hnd graduates have attained the same level of education as BSC graduates the only difference is that u have both studied for different purposes. Nigerian government needs to restructure and improve our educational system because believe me guys, even university education in Nigeria is absolute crap, it is just funny that some university folks are talking down poly folks. One thing u don't know is that u just think u are better cos the society makes u think u are better. Whether university or poly, u are all products of an archaic dysfunctional educational system. Those who have got some good education abroad can tell me if I am lying.

Guys, pls lets move beyond discrimination it ruins as us as a ppl. The question we should be asking here is why do we have polytechnics and universities? what are their responsibilities in the job market. Come and look at sectors like construction, oil and gas, engineering etc in North America. The guys from technical colleges grab the most opportunities. In fact the industry needs them the most and they earn big. Much bigger than what any white collar buddy can earn in several years of working. So guys instead of discriminating and condemning some ppl, may be we should be asking our government to put our education in the right place. And provide environment for industries that will absorb them.

Politics / Iyabo Obasanjo Denies Writing Ill-worded Letter To Her Father by Anvaller: 8:57pm On Dec 19, 2013
The letter-writing trend that has taken over the polity took a different dimension on Wednesday when an 11-page letter allegedly written by daughter of former President Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo hit the news.

IYABO OBASANJO DENIES WRITING ILL-WORDED LETTER TO HER FATHER

The letter was allegedly written in response to the 18-page letter written by the retired General criticizing the present Jonathan-led administration.

The letter which was highly personal in nature criticized the former military Head of state as a father, a man, a leader and a statesman. That did not, however, mark the end of the surprise.

The nation was still trying to grasp the purpose of the letter which outrightly stated that the letter had no political undertones when the former Senator and PhD Holder announced that she had nothing to do with the letter nor had she written or sent the letter to anyone or organization. She was said to have made this denial in a call to a radio station.

As to whether Iyabo Obasanjo wrote the letter or someone else did, we will keep you posted as events unfold.

http://aitonline.tv/post-iyabo_obasanjo_denies_writing_ill_worded_letter_to_her_father

In a bid to rubbish the person of President Olusegun Obasanjo, agents of the Presidency have been sponsoring several damaging adverts on the social media against him and OluFamous.Com observed that they took it a step further by writing a sarcastic letter and fraudulently attributed it to his daughter, Iyabo Obasanjo.
iyabo obasanjo
When Obasanjo wrote President Gooodluck Jonathan he came out open and did the right thing, he did not hide under a mask to insult anyone, but simply state the sacred FACTS for all Nigerians to see.
Why is this government resorting to blackmail rather than address Obasanjo’s damning revelations?

Just an update on the foregoing.

I can't believe that this thread eventually skyrocketed into venomous outbursts. Everything that have transpired is a shame. To the owner of this Forum, I am disappointed that ur management policies of this forum is poor. U should have closed down a thread that brews hatred. Here is a thread with 20 pages, can anyone tell me what we have actually learnt apart from further propagation of hates and animosity amongst ourselves? It pains me that we black ppl don't think. U can never find any forum online where bunch of Germans, English, Dutch etc are degrading themselves. But u will find thread where these Europeans share information and educate themselves. It doesn't mean these ppl don't disagree with each other but they do so with respect and understanding while they listen to each other.

Guys, let's not deceive ourselves, problem in Africa is across board. Nigeria has problem, other countries do too. Imagine if we had dedicated this thread to problem solving and knowledge sharing? But unfortunately we Africans do not gravitate towards positive. If I start a thread right now about discussing the best of African countries, I doubt if it will stretch 2 or 3 pages. But if I start a thread and say Ghanaians and S.Africans are bad bla bla.. u see everyone flocking at it to throw cyber punches... It saddens me. And this doesn't only happen on Nigerian forum, u see it in forums from other countries. U can only show that u are better by not acting like them. If u act like them u are probably worse.

My fellow Nigerians, I know many of u here are young ppl that don't care about a lot of stuffs but u need start to learn some maturity. Ignore insults from foreigners and desist from insulting foreigners. This is actually how u can be respected.

And to the owner of this forum, I suggest that u discourage threads like this by closing them down. I understand u might like it because of the traffic that it brings but hey! don't thrive in negativity.

So even if the story line was crap, even if the director was poor, even if the camera angles and effect was bad, even if the acting wasn't good enough to be convincing. This is my message to all Nigerians and Non Nigerians that are commenting on this thread. It is a shame that u are bashing, disgracing and insulting each other. Whether u are from South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe or Nigeria. The reason u are all backward as Africans is because u all hate each other.

I have observed the significant difference between us Africans and Europeans in terms of growth, innovation and advancement. And my conclusion is clearly that the white folks are not smarter on man to man comparison with a black man. But when it comes to working together, division of labour, team working and togetherness of purpose, that is where they are a thousand miles ahead of us. They know how to identify the positive in u in the midst of all ur negatives, they know how to respect each other but we like to ignore anything positive about others and dwell on their negative to condemn them and write them off.

Africa will go nowhere if we do not embrace each other. No African country can completely be successful on its own. We need each other. Unfortunately, we are too dull to understand these simple things. Look at the E.U, despite that they have several countries doing good on their own, they still came up with E.U trade to be more economically efficient.

Look at the U.S Canada trade relations even including mexico, but in Africa, we want to brag about how we are better than each other, while the onlookers from the west see all of u as more or less the same.

Think guys, I hate all these African vs African beefs. There is no intelligence in it whatsoever.

At the emboldened, goes to show you have no idea the social lives of gay people or how they interact with each other. Thinking the only thing we look out for is sex. I laugh. To start with, every gay guy is not attracted to every other gay person, no matter how attractive the person may be. And just like heterosexuals, gay men and women have preferences in terms of who they want to be with. I wouldn't argue with you further on that. And yes, no fucking will be involved when discussing other stuffs. We do have a life, Being gay is just a minute part of it.

As to the other part of your post, well, you've said it: Consenting adults. If your numerous wives to be also agree to marry you on a polygamous basis, then let the women kick off the fight. Not just the men. I'm sure their voices will be heard. smiley

Look dude, there is nothing u wanna tell me about the behavioral pattern of gays that I don't know. I lived in one of the cities ever ranked as the gay capital of the world for over 5 years (Amsterdam) and I am the outgoing type, I ,meet and converse with ppl. I have had gay friends and I still have. As a very social person, I have been to controversial places across places. So I am not just raising objections over the fence without knowing anything at the other side.

So u said being gay is just a minute part of ur life, that means it is not so important, why then do u guys always want to shove it down our throats? u are not facing fact. Ur sexual life isn't just a minute part of ur life, it is ur life. if it was, u wont be spending so much time discussing it with ppl that seem not to agree with u. Ur sexual life is important to u just like it its very important to straight ppl too. The thing is just that ur sexual life is gay. Stop edging out facts in order to make some points.

And I am not telling u to not live ur life, but stop infringing on our own rights. Stop messing up our social structure, create ur own social structure and no one will have issues. Imagine if u guys have defined ur own type of union differently like give it ur own terminology e.g (homotrimony: the state of being in conjugal relationship involving partners of the same sex, just like matrimony in man and woman conjugal relationship), no one would have had issues but the moment u insist that it must be called marriage, that is where the problem is right there. If u call urselves gays and lesbians, why do u want ur union to be the same as marriage?

Although I know why u insist it must be marriage, cos u want to have all the right stipulated in marriage laws. Most importantly the right to have children. Children that u can not produce, not because u are sterile but because of ur abnormal sexual orientation. And oh yea, u always want to insist that ur sexual orientation is "normal", why then cant u guys go ahead and have children "normally"? Why do u have to have children through the most "abnormal" situations of which in most cases, the child ends up denied their biological father and mother and raised under a confusing parenthood.

Like u have said, we can't continue with this argument, there can never be a converging point. And the straight ppl that converge with ur point are in most cases only being politically correct just as I have been politically correct to my lesbians/gay friends. I only agree to their right to live their lives. Just like smokers, alcholoics, prostitutes etc have the right to live their lives. It doesnt mean the lifestyle they chose is right.

Cheers.
P.S I don't hate u dude, I probably will shake u and have a drink with u in real life and wouldn't even want to discuss ur sexual orientation in order not to hurt u with my opinion. But here is a faceless forum, where we can be real with each other. No political correctness.

Lady what are you saying, which big club is in the U.S.A league that dike is scoring against? At a point portland timbers started benching him, Odemwinge has scored and will still score against big teams, his pace and acceleration is needed from an attacker, his shot accuracy is needed to.

Ameobi plays regularly, so does Odemwingie. also it doesn't really matter if you play regular, what matters is how you perform. I mean Ameobi is a player below par, very sluggish, bad shot accuracy, little goal sense. is this the person you want to score against top class keepers?

Ideye is no where near Odemwingie, don't be a joker.

I will just take your post as being sarcastic because Odemwingie is one of the best attacking players nigeria has produced.

Forget his pride, that can be taken care of if the crews really know their job, ballotelli is a worse player that him but still plays for both country and club, All they do is to speak to him and its working, if you have noticed ballotelli is no more aggressive and naughty as before.

Stop this fruitless case making for Odemwingie. Ballotelli can not be compared with Odemwingie in the sense that Bllotelli only throws tantrum that sometimes might not be directed at anybody in particular. He doesn't hold beefs, he only gets angry at little things sometimes like a kid. (e.g openly saying that he will knock any racist fan to death or getting overly angry at a tackle during a match, more like the case of Rooney in the past) That's why his team mates still like him cos he has no beef with them. They understand that Balotelli is like an angry kid but in case of Osaze, he holds beef with his team mates, he feel superior and wants to be addressed as such, he challenges the coaches' tactics and strategies. Remember not only Keshi, he had issues with Lagerback too.

Keshi has said it so many times that he doesn't care what u play, if u will disorganize the team spirit we dont need u. It is better to go to the world cup with a functional team with above average players than a star studded dysfunctional team.

Same way there are groups on Facebook and even NL with heterosexual people looking for sex and dropping their numbers, same way it is for gay people, and even more so for the very young gay teens who just discovered that there are actually people like them out there. If you look closer, you'd see that majority of people there are still in their teens.

And if you check further, you'd see more groups of intellectual gay people looking to partner for either business reasons, school reasons, projects etc... Same way it is for heterosexual people. Each to his/her own.

smiley

A gay person will look for another gay person to partner for business, school and no anus fuck1ng will be involved? What a "ridiculousness", a-far-from-the-fact claim. The more u guys try to make ur act look like a natural phenomenon, the more ridiculous it gets. There have been more and more gay renunciations these days. u wanna deny that?

U have been wired to misunderstand ur own internal workings. Do u know that in spite of death penalty on rape in india, several thousands of Indian men can't help but rape? The question is why do they kill them? What if they were born that way? These guys knew that the penalty of their action is death and they still can't help but do it, in that case, it must be that they were born that way right?

The only thing that separates gay orientation from other abnormal sexual orientation such as pedophilia, bestiality etc is because of the argument that it involves 2 consenting adults, not because it is normal but the "born this way claim" crept in later when the gay activist realized that the 1st argument wasn't strong enough to make a case for gay acceptance.

The question is this, why is the same western world that is making a case for 2 consenting homosexual adults consider sexual practice for 3 consenting heterosexual adult not only as abnormal but illegal? They wont allow marriage between me and 2 women that we all love each other so dearly, even if we do it in secret, they wil put us in jail. But they will gladly allow 2 sexually incompatible beings to marry each other. White ppl are sick in the brain with their laws just like everybody else but they want to make us believe that their thinking is perfect and dumbasses are falling for it.

Well in that case, ur attitude shows the problem i have with gay ppl and their sympathizers they are the most brutal but still claim to be victims all the time. Without verbally abusing u, u called me and more than 15 ppl that liked my post "mofos" really?

This guy failed to state that he was gay. from his comment that i quoted, he only said the following:

"I went to a club I was not allowed in cos i wasnt looking gay enough and i was Nigerian."

U must not be gay to enter some gay clubs, some straight ppl go to gay clubs too as long as they are not disgusted with what they see there.

ok my question to u... if the gay dude went to a gay clup in S.A and the fellow gay ppl like him bounced him so what is our own problem about that? Why is he telling us here about it? He should have looked for a gay forum to discuss that. If even gays are discriminating against themselves, why do they care so much about straight ppl?

Ok Let's put things into perspective. In Canada for example, if u want to get a job or let's say rent a house, u'd see the landlords openly stating, "we rent our house only to Filipinos, Indians" or "only women are considered". But u don't see Nigerian or American shouting discrimination cos a landlord won't rent his house to him based on his Nationality. U go elsewhere and move on, its part of life, u can't cry over every little thing, most especially when u have options. But I bet the whole of Canada would go ablaze if a landlord dared openly advertise a house or a room and stating that only straight ppl are allowed.

It is just total BS that every little thing that happens to gay ppl becomes a big issue. As if they are special kind of human being, they even get more protection than physically handicapped ppl, why? A guy didn't bake cake for u, go elsewhere. They compare them to black ppl and yet they don't give half the protection to black ppl who are actually suffering real time discrimination. Unfortunately, the blacks themselves are falling for it.

In our eyes we are seeing gays having more right than blacks yet the black ppl whose pain the agenda used as a tool to liberate the gay ppl are still on the same spot. Aint we thinking? majority of out of the closet gays are white, of course their interest is more important than the black race.

Seun: There was a time when living as a black American was very inconvenient because most places of business would refuse to serve black people. Can you imagine going to a restaurant with your white friends only to be told that they "don't serve your type here?" Or a petrol station? Or to not be allowed to attend a good school even though your academics are strong? That's what America was like before the laws that convicted this man were created. It does a lot of damage to members of minority groups if people are allowed to refuse to do business with "their type".

beryl04:

Thanks so much for pointing that out b4 the squad decends with their holier than thou comments.
I almost cried d day I went to a club with my white friends in Johannesburg only to be told by the bouncers'sorry we don't allow nigerians and besides u don't look gay enuf' now how does that sound.I cudnt do anything cos I was a foreigner and to think that can happen in Africa and in a gay club makes the whole thing somehow unbearable.trust me,d next day I went to the management of d club and raised some dust.
Nobody should be discriminated against based on skin color, nationality or even sexual orientation cos when u got the license to operate the business ,u uphold to serve the public not to prejudice on some sections.

U guys are just joining the white folk's band wagon with the way u are reasoning, its a shame that they think for u and u don't even know it. The white folks have hijacked the black ppl's struggle, equate it with gay struggles and u sank it in like u are not even thinking. Is it not ridiculous that every time they want to defend gay ppl they start to talk about blackness as if the black struggle has the same moral, historical, and political background as gay struggles.

I am not saying u shouldn't defend gay interests if u want but try to think deeper than what the white folks subliminally filter through ur consciousness. No one can equate my race, my skin color, my struggle to gayness, stop this BS. I don't need to convince anyone that I am black, u will see it. My race is not an orientation, its a race unquestionably who I am. Not the same thing with gays or is it?

And to u who said u were not allowed into a gay club, whats ur business in a gay club if u are not gay, did u not know it was a gay club? For ur information, I used to attend parties that are strictly for black guys and white girls, would a white guy scream discrimination if he was bounced at the club gate? Its common sense here. And if they said they don't allow Nigerians, there's probably was a case on it, have u found out?

Coldplay007: too many liars on this thread... it seems 80% of NLers were not taught how to drive.. Y'all just entered your papa cars and started driving manual cars....
...

Coldplay, u see some ppl might be lying, that's their problem but I can tell u, driving a car is not a big deal for some ppl. I had about 5 close friends as a teenager and believe me, only one out of us could not learn to drive by himself because his parent didnt have a car. The rest picked their parents car and started driving. So it is not difficult for me to believe anyone that claims to have learnt how to drive by him/herself. All my brothers drove a car by themselves. The best time to learn a car is when u are young, u are not afraid of anything, and u want impress ur friends and the girls next door and down the street that u are now driving a car. So it was then a big deal and u really want to drive a car as if it means success.
Car Talk / Re: Who Taught You How To Drive? Was The Person Strict by Anvaller: 7:48pm On Dec 01, 2013
As a kid, my dad loved to toss me in the car whenever he is going to visit his friends and then while he drives he used to explain to me the driving principles and the connection between the clutch and the gear vs the function of accelerator and the brake. Little did he know that I was soon going to put the theory into practice.

He used to warm his car while he dresses up for work every morning and 1st I started helping him to turn the ignition off , then I started to do basic car checks like help him gauge the oil, top the radiator, clean the battery and oil the terminals. My dad was impressed and he became relaxed and allowed me to do it.

One morning he was busy dressing up, I moved the car out of the garage gently and drove it down 2 streets and back, my dad was already standing in front of the house scared to death. But the rest became history. And this wasn't automatic, I mean how many automatics were there back in '94?

And peugeot 504 for that matter.

To all of u trying to paint the woman black to justify Oshiomhole's action, think about what u are doing.

In this case, everything Oshiomhole was accused of is a fact:
That he mistreated that woman = Fact
That he told the woman to go and die = Fact
That he unlawfully seized the woman's property = Fact
That he failed to apologize = Fact

Everything said abut the woman is unfounded (not a fact)
That she is not a widow = False until proven otherwise
That she was selling stuffs on the road side = False until proven (she couldn't have been selling stuffs in packs, what sense does that make?)
That she broke any law = False until proven otherwise

I don't understand how a case caught on tape very clearly with clear audio is still not clear enough for some ppl.

To those that were saying anyone could have done or said the same. Speak for urselves, I do not have such mentality cos I respect every one irrespective of class. Oshiomhole wouldn't have gone as far as saying that if she was a rich man or woman. We don't respect poor ppl in Nigeria, we don't even think they have any right. Let's start to think about the way we think.

To those of u complaining that PDP is politicizing Oshiomhole's action, my question to u. What did u expect from an opposition party? Did ACN not do more than that when they were the opposition? Did Oshiomhole not know that whatever he was doing, the opposition was watching to capitalize on it? Should he then blame the opposition or blame himself for conceding a cheap point to the opposition? Think guys.

In America, when Romney wrote off 47% american voters, saying they did not need help, what happened? Democrats capitalized on it immediately, that is politics. Romney wouldn't blame the democrats for capitalizing on his own error, he shouldn't have made the error in the 1st place.

To those saying Oshomhole has apologized, he has never apologized. He only stated that he regretted his action. He never said he apologized to that woman in fact he was justifying his action. To regret an action is different from to apologize for an action. Go and re watch that video. Each time he was saying "I regret my action but" every single time. He never said anything near "I apologize to the woman"

The summary of his statement in that video was simply "I do not like that I said what I said(regret) to that woman but I was right for saying it. I don't understand how that became an apology to some ppl.

When Gordons Brown Disparaged a woman in the UK not knowing that the mic was still attached to his coat, he didn't start saying "he regretted regretted but" he went to the woman's house with his whole entourage and chilled out with the woman in the presence of the media apologizing the whole time. But here in Nigeria a governor made a deliberate a statement in public, not even a gaffe made in secret like the case of Romney and Brown and ppl took a mere statement of regret for an apology. Too bad.

BADNEAT: to be very very realistic. ..I do not like to lie ..dt ain't good...those of u screaming if it were my daughter. .i'l fight 4 her n shit..think twice. .that hair is obviously beautiful on her d way it is but if she really wants to stay in the school I'm sure her mum knows exactly how to pack and work on the hair if she doesn't want it cut so as to reduce its aerial coverage ...buh if she's hell bent on giving in to whatever her daughter wants however she wants it, she can as well get her into another school and allow those who are willing to stick to school rules at d detriment of their wants...one word for the woman...#bad parenting. ..obviously

This goes beyond just bad parenting, This is one of the several Good Hair-Bad Hair struggle, It's a Black Woman's Hair vs White Hair Face off in America

I agree with u but I understand why the mother and the daughter might be standing their ground. There is a big racial problem in America so much so that no one trust the intention of the other anymore. They actually think that the school's reason is based on racial hate and not actually in good faith. Black women are under pressure in America simply because their hair does not look as straight and stringy for the white people's standard. This girl came to school with her hair natural like other white children with theit natural hair. She didn't add anything, its just her hair but black people's hair grow puffy and not straight, shouldn't they respect that? White children never have problem with their hair because no matter how they style it, its okay to white people but not the same with black kids.

In recent times, there have been a wave of similar cases in schools where Black American pupils are kicked out of school because of various ridiculous claims that their hair do not conform. This girl left her hair un-braided, the school claimed it does not conform. There was another girl that caused outrage with an Afro not as big and there was another girl with dread locks, they said her hair looked untidy... really?

I personally also hate bad parenting, undue pampering and all that but this case right here goes beyond that, the black woman's hair in America has become a political struggle. Black ppl are not respected with their hair so I can understand in cases like these if they look unreasonable with standing their ground. Have u asked why most African-American women are so ashamed to carry their hair naturally? They always have to fix white, indian, brazilian hair to conform at school, at work, etc. When they do these, white people don't complain but when a black woman chose not to wear weaves but wear her natural hair, they start to come up with excuses.

There has to be a national debate on black women's hair in America because those of u who thought she she should have braided it, Well cornrows was also outlawed in the school where a girl was kicked out because she had dreadlocks. U might be surprised that another child with braids will be kicked out tomorrow. The thing is they do not consider black ppl's hair style as presentable. Ask urself why u have never and might never see a black news caster or presenter on white media like CNN, BBC, FOX News etc with braids, cornrows dreadlocks, afro or any natural hairstyle indigenous to blacks. Those women have to to fix fake white hair and conceal their natural hair to conform (whether they like it or not) every single time they appear on T.V otherwise no job for them.

So really it goes beyond just bad parenting, these ppl are trying to make a political statement and its becoming more and more of a clash with white ppl now since more black american women are getting tired of the fake white hair and embracing their own hair. This is a case I had been closely observing for quite some time so I understand and they have my support.

And hey guys, That boy Uche Nwofor needs some more trials in super eagles. If the way he played against south africa is anything to go by, we need that boy in our wc team. He was fearless in front of goal and he makes quick decision. Unlike Oduamadi that was always nervous inside box 18.
Sports / Re: Does Osaze Odemwingie Deserve A Call-up? by Anvaller: 2:14pm On Nov 30, 2013
Though left to me, I have always maintained that Osaze is not needed. However if Keshi would like to call him he can but there has to be pre conditions, I believe by now Osaze and Ike Uche would have understood that even if they make it to the world cup, they might be sitting on the bench for more time than they desire unless they put up a sparkling performance. Before now, guys like Ike Uche and Osaze were too full of themselves so much that they thought the coach must start them in a match no matter what. That is what Keshi could not condone and he got rid of them. U can't sit on the bench in a serious match and start lashing at ur coach's strategy and u can't tell ur coach that u will only play for Nigeria if u are made the captain of the team. And Keshi said well I am looking for guys who are ready to play for Nigeria no matter what. Look at Dike, he feels like he won Jackpot everytime he earns a call up, that is important.

The problem Keshi had with this players was they didn't want to respect him and I will do the same thing he did as a coach. If u don't respect me, I will get rid of u. Simple. Now that he got rid of them, are they not begging him now? If Osaze goes back to the camp, he can't form any big boy to even the likes of Mba because they will tell him that "we built this current super eagles without u, u are just an after thought".

If they will come back to super eagles without feeling bigger than themselves, they are welcome otherwise we can do without them.

This is a public forum and i don't have to write my biography here but if there is any place you know that is worse than "Ajegunle" in the whole of Nigeria, please show me. That's all i have to say, but i can assure you that poor people create more problems for the Govt than you can ever imagine.

It is only a poor man that goes to the transformer at night and remove the fuse to sell. Oga Jameh tinz cheesy cheesy
Only a poor man climbs up a street light at night and steal the hallogen bulb. Papa Efiong tinz cheesy cheesy

Dude I've seen it all, yes they are uneducated but seriously does one need to be educated to have common sense?

I am sorry I don't know ur age but u are really commenting like a kid. A poor uneducated individual will generally have an IQ lower than a rich educated individual. These 2 factors carry alot of other sub-factors that will make an individual have low thinking ability. Poor uneducated ppl have low self esteem less integrity and less shame than the rich educated folks. Now think about it, they care less about alot of things, sometimes they even care less about their lives cos there is nothing they are hoping to live for anyways.

So u seem not to be thinking very deep, u are just looking at things at the surface. U are not different from Oshiomhole and the likes who thinks that the poor woman's state is her own fault and so should be further punished for it. He failed to feel the guilt of the fact that poverty state of that woman is as a result of the failure of the state of which he represents.

The countries in the western world understand the imperative of having a good quality citizenry otherwise u can't manage the ppl. If Barack Obama comes to manage Nigeria today, nothing will change no matter how much he tries because the quality of ppl he is managing in America is different from the quality of ppl he would have to manage in Nigeria. For anything to work, U need to 1st improve the livelihood of ppl by removing poverty and infusing more education. Then a lot of problem will solve by itself.

I hope u get it now?

After watching this video and checking out some few comments, I am disturbed that the way we reason is mostly still not based on intelligence but sentiment. Some ppl can not really reason without underlying sentiments and they are not even aware of it.

Looking at Oshiomhole, we should be concerned about his crude approach. I mean this is a whole governor we are talking about here, if a Governor does not know how to treat human being with respect and dignity, why then do we complain about police brutality? Now let's go with the claim that she broke a law, fine, the governor had no reason for insulting and demoralizing her by asking her to go to die? Seriously? No governor or Mayor or President of a western country will survive this even if he had built heaven on earth. That is why their leaders treat them with utmost respect becos the lead do not demand anything less from them. In Nigeria, we get what we ask from our govt and then complain about it.

1st all, they did not need to cause that major scene, if he wanted ppl to see it as a deterrent to other lawbreakers, they should have just shown it on TV not wasting time and causing a scene, having a mammoth crowd watch u while u cursing down on a poor woman kneeling down at ur feet like an all time dictator. That scenario looks so much like the 3rd world they call us in the west. We need to improve.

They should simply have removed her from the spot with her stuffs, where they can read out her penalty to her, arrange how she will pay it and release her properties to her. U don't need to seize her property. Make her understand her offence, get her a public lawyer that will explain the laws to her while u treat her like human being and let her go as soon as she has a bond or pays the penalty.

And pls forget PDP or APC, the point right here is that Oshiomhole behaved badly and he should be called out. Simple.
