Dear President BAT,

Please scrap this agency and merge them with the Traffic Police Division.

Also mandate VIO never to set feet on highways harassing motorists.

They should be a unit under the Ministry of Transport and remain in their offices attending to people who have come to have road worthiness tests conducted on their vehicles. VIO has no business causing traffic and additional hardship in the morning when people are on their way to work. There are better and more modern and better ways to monitor and enforce their rules.

FamilyRe: Why Do Married Men Suddenly Lose Interest In Their Wives and try to avoid her? by 10thTenthMan:
EriMma1:
I've been observing this for some time now. Once a couple has lived together for ten years,
the closeness between them reduces. As in.. the man no longer sits with the wife to gist or even play. Meanwhile, you'll still see the woman trying to bond and wanting her man to always be around her.

I noticed this in one couple. In fact, they are pastor and Mrs. The woman always follows the man everywhere and wants to sit where he's sitting but the man would clearly avoid her and go out of sight completely when the tailing becomes too much and only come back when the woman is no longer in sight. Why?

No man born of a woman will try such with me, I'll blank you like you're not there.

Women, you too should wise up and stop making yourselves too available. Make yourself a bit scarce and they'll value you.
It is because they (both MEN AND WOMEN) foolishly think marriage operates on auto pilot. It is self-deceit and lies to claim that it is the men that loose interest. The women also lose interest but in Nigeria who born dem well to talk? This is why when they go overseas, where they are better protected and have rights, they swing into action and express their loss of interest, even as far as initiating divorce.

Marriage is AN INSTITUTION. It takes consciously planned and organized efforts to keep it alive, strong, and progressive. Marriage does not remove boredom. Love does not override 'see finish'. Marital vows do not stop disinterest in a person. Trust does not stop a mans private part from entering his side chic's private part. Neither will trust stop a married woman's panties from being removed by her manfriend she is cheating with. MARRIAGE TAKES CONSIOUS EFFORT TO ENSURE AND PRMOTE THE LOVE, COMPANIONSHIP, FAITHFULNESS, RESPECT, BONDING, ROMANCE, SEX, COOPERATION, COORDINATION, RESPECT, etc.

How many married couples know marriages have phases? How many married couples know about the effects of midlife crises on marriage and how to ensure it does not affect their marriages? How many Nigerian women know the effects of menopause on their being receptive to romance , love and their libido? They dont. They would rather blame ''evil arrow'' and take advice from hair saloon gists. How many Nigerian women have sense not to drag pastors into their affairs? How many women know they need to be loyal, faithful and respect a man as he remains faithful, leads, protects, provides, assists, and sets perfect example for the kids? How many couples know to ensure that family members do not influence their decisions or breed partiality in decisions taken? How many Nigerian women bathe and look good when the man is coming home? How many Nigerian men hit the gym and develop muscles and trim their pot bellies, so the woman is attracted? How many married couples know the effects of kids and the pressure it puts on marriage and romance? How many partners know the effects of finances on love, romance, and marriage?

It is not every problem that is prayed away. Problems that you can solve with the same brain that God has given you. You expect that your spouse's feelings, psyche, emotions, mentality, etc. should be overridden by the Bible or other religious books abi? They should ignore all issues and quote books and verses without conscious efforts to salvage the marriage, then a miracle or magic will happen. Una never see anything. Marriage takes work and effort. By both the man and woman. Romance needs to be kept alive. Love needs to be kept alive. Respect needs to be kept alive. Sexual pleasure needs to be kept alive.

THESE NEED TO BE DONE AGAINST ALL ODDS AND CHALLENGES. Only then does the joy from the experience in marriage come.

To me, these things are not immediate. I do not support APC, PDP, LP or any party. However, we must note that Presidential/Executive Directives do not work on every matter/issue. Besides, he mentioned that he was going to ensure that this happens. For it to happen it is a process. There are laid down administrative processes. In public service, public administration, and macroeconomics, it is easy to realize that even if it is his desire, it will have to be done in a controlled manner. Otherwise, we won't have USD for other important international trade activities. Our earnings have not been fantastic, and we are servicing debts with about 90% of our earnings.

Like the article says, other options like crude oil exchange might help to reduce this debt. Crude Oil Brokers will see an increase in business if this eventually happens.

Wait o ! I no understand...
Nigerians buy INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT TICKETS mainly in Naira from these airlines.

Typically, such naira purchase is supposed to be converted to Dollars for the airlines by the CBN. The Dollars is MAIN currency for international trade and there is usually an agreement between international airlines and the CBN for the exchange of this naira to USD.

Now after Nigerians buy these international flight tickets in Naira, the airlines cannot get dollars from CBN to repatriate their money to their countries. As it stands the airlines have 812 million USD trapped in Nigerian (in Naira) and cannot convert these to dollars at the CBN for them to move their money to their home countries.

samsamme:
Hello, I'd like to hear your thoughts on the following:
I recently received admission to a Canadian college that required half of the tuition fee to be paid within the next few days. Just as I was about to make the tuition deposit next week, I received an email from Saskatchewan regarding the expression of interest application I submitted about a year ago.

My question :
1. can I apply for both a study visa and a permanent residency at the same time?
2. Could anyone who has recently received an EOI from Saskatchewan please advise me of the average processing time for an EOI application?
3. I presently have a Masters degree that is around three (3) years old, but I have more than ten (10) years of verifiable job experience as a Web Developer in both Nigeria and Europe with ND and HND, does my masters degree need to be up to ten (10) years old to be able to claim this experience?

I'm asking because I'm not currently in Nigeria and my current visa has about a year left on it. The main reason for planning this canny waka is that I believe that if I applied now, my study visa application would be approved before my legal status in my current country of residence expired. Also, even though I am eligible for visa renewal, but I don't seems interested which means that I have to explore the best option to get me and family to Canada legally with this period.

Do you think ignoring the admission and study visa is a best option?
Do you believe I'll be able to complete the entire process, from EOI application approval to PR application, by February 2024?

Your prompt response will be greatly appreciated.
1. Applying for both is Termed as ''Dual Intent'' and according to immigration consultants, this is very legal. However, you must meet the requirements for each of the application/pathways. Please read this article through this link. https://www.canadianimmigration.com/study-in-canada/permnanent-resident-status/#:~:text=Applying%20for%20a%20Canada%20study,accepted%20by%20Canadian%20immigration%20law.

2. I got EOI Approval in August 2022, Biometrics in October 2022, Medical at IOM in February 2023, and the Single-entry Visa in April, 2023. That is about 8 months. If you have all the necessary documents ready, including proof of funds, etc., then you should be good by February 2024.

3. If the question says post academic/schooling work experience, then it should be from when you got your ND. Not necessarily your masters. Your WES includes evaluation of your Diplomas and MSc. You got your ND earlier than the rest and in Nigeria you can be hired and work professionally even with an OND. I would say to be on the safe side (avoid false representation), count from when you completed your ND.

I hope other members here can provide additional information to help you make informed decisions.

Best of luck.

Christianity EtcRe: Why Did Jesus Die? by 10thTenthMan: 1:41pm On Apr 16, 2023
Jokanem:
Why Did Jesus Die?

Jesus died so that humans could have their sins forgiven and receive endless life. (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 1:7) Jesus’ death also proved that a human can remain loyal to God even when faced with the severest of tests.—Hebrews 4:15.

Consider how the death of one man could accomplish so much.

Jesus died for “the forgiveness of our sins.”—Colossians 1:14.

The first human, Adam, was created perfect, without sin. However, he chose to disobey God. Adam’s disobedience, or sin, profoundly affected all his descendants. “Through the disobedience of the one man,” the Bible explains, “many were made sinners.”—Romans 5:19.

Jesus was also perfect, but he never sinned. Therefore, he could be “an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (1 John 2:2) Just as Adam’s disobedience contaminated the human family with sin, so Jesus’ death removed the stain of sin from all who exercise faith in him.

In a sense, Adam sold the human race into sin. Jesus, by willingly dying in our behalf, repurchased humankind as his own. As a result, “if anyone does commit a sin, we have a helper with the Father, Jesus Christ, a righteous one.”—1 John 2:1.

Jesus died “so that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.”—John 3:16.

Although Adam was created to live forever, his sin brought upon him the penalty of death. Through Adam, “sin entered into the world and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because they had all sinned.”—Romans 5:12.

In contrast, Jesus’ death not only removed the blemish of sin but also canceled the death sentence for all who exercise faith in him. The Bible sums up matters this way: “Just as sin ruled as king with death, so also undeserved kindness might rule as king through righteousness leading to everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”—Romans 5:21.

Of course, humans today still have a limited life span. However, God promises that he will grant righteous humans everlasting life and resurrect the dead so that they too can benefit from Jesus’ sacrificial death.—Psalm 37:29; 1 Corinthians 15:22.

Jesus “became obedient to the point of death,” thus proving that a human could be faithful to God under any test or trial.—Philippians 2:8.

Despite having a perfect mind and body, Adam disobeyed God because he selfishly desired something that did not belong to him. (Genesis 2:16, 17; 3:6)

Later, God’s chief enemy, Satan, suggested that no human would unselfishly obey God, especially if his life were on the line. (Job 2:4) Yet, the perfect man Jesus obeyed God and remained loyal to him, even undergoing a disgraceful and painful death. (Hebrews 7:26) This completely settled the matter: A human can remain faithful to God under whatever test or trial may be brought upon him.

Questions about Jesus’ death

Why did Jesus have to suffer and die to redeem humans?
Why didn’t God just cancel the death sentence?

God’s law states that “the wages sin pays is death.” (Romans 6:23) Rather than hide this law from Adam, God told him that the penalty for disobedience would be death. (Genesis 3:3) When Adam sinned, God, “who cannot lie,” kept his word. (Titus 1:2) Adam passed on to his descendants not only sin but also the wages of sin—death.

Although sinful humans deserve the penalty of death, God extended to them “the riches of his undeserved kindness.” (Ephesians 1:7) His provision to redeem mankind—sending Jesus as a perfect sacrifice—was both profoundly just and supremely merciful.

When did Jesus die?

Jesus died at “the ninth hour” from sunrise, or at about three o’clock in the afternoon of the Jewish Passover. (Mark 15:33-37) That date corresponds to Friday, April 1, 33 C.E., according to modern calendars.

Where did Jesus die?

Jesus was executed at “the so-called Skull Place, which is called Golʹgo·tha in Hebrew.” (John 19:17, 18) This site was “outside the city gate” of Jerusalem in Jesus’ day. (Hebrews 13:12) It may have been on a hill, since the Bible says that some observed Jesus’ execution “from a distance.” (Mark 15:40) However, the present location of Golgotha cannot be determined with certainty.

How did Jesus die?

Although many believe that Jesus was crucified—executed on a cross—the Bible reports: “His own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree.” (1 Peter 2:24, King James Version) Bible writers used two Greek words to refer to the instrument of Jesus’ execution—stau·rosʹ and xyʹlon. Many scholars have concluded that these words refer to a beam or an upright stake made of one piece of wood.

How should Jesus’ death be remembered?

On the night of the annual Jewish Passover, Jesus instituted a simple procedure with his followers and commanded them: “Keep doing this in remembrance of me.” (1 Corinthians 11:24) Hours later, Jesus was put to death.

Bible writers compared Jesus to the lamb sacrificed at the Passover. (1 Corinthians 5:7) Just as the Passover celebration reminded the Israelites that they had been freed from slavery, so the Memorial of Jesus Christ’s death reminds Christians that they have been freed from sin and death. The Passover, held on Nisan 14 according to the lunar calendar, was a yearly celebration; the early Christians likewise observed the Memorial once each year.

Annually, on the date corresponding to Nisan 14, millions of people worldwide commemorate Jesus’ death.
Jesus was simply murdered because he disrupted the status quo and brought a message different from one which gave the Scribes and Pharisees power of control over the people.

He did not die for anyone's sins. He was murdered. And like every human, when his time came, he died and left this world.

It is an insult to God, an all-powerful being, to claim he sent Jesus to die for people's sins. He is all powerful.

It is not Tai Chi but Karate.

He is performing a Karate Kata called Empi (The Flying Swallow) which is the 14th Kata and usually performed at the First Dan Black Belt Stage. However, some schools teach Katas earlier than usual.

He is a Karateka. Though with sloppy waza (technique). The videos show the Kata and the breakdown of its application (Bunkai).

I also do not think this demonstration is necessary on his wedding day. But hey it is his day. He should enjoy anything that makes him happy or makes the day special.

EducationRe: Kegite Group Should Be Banned In Universities After Uniben Student Was Killed by 10thTenthMan:
Chimezirim121:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yk6Sbxp5c8
I am of the opinion that KEGITE GROUP SHOULD BE BANNED IN UNIVERSITIES and polytechnics. Looking at the way a final year student was shot dead yesterday in the school Hall 3, the murder of KEGITE chief or Mayor is akin to the murder of a cult member, many NIGERIAN students have admitted that many KEGITE GROUP members are cultist who use the KEGITE as shield for their cult activities.
The reason why KEGITE GROUP SHOULD BE BANNED
1) There's no KEGITE GROUP member that graduates with good result
2) There's no social impact from kegite group
3) There's no economic value from kegite group
4) most kegite group members are irresponsible and ill-mannered
5) There's always a stigma of waywardness and lawlessness associated with any kegite group member
6) Kegite group bring alot of distraction from students
7) Kegite group in most Universities and polytechnics is a cult group, no matter how they package it to be
1. FALSE: A lot graduate with fantastic results and I am living proof. I know members who were in the top three in their Departments while I was in school. We all gyrated and had fun together. They are all doing absolutely fine.

2. FALSE: It in itself is a socio-cultural club. Kegites has been and will always be a way to socialize. The Chief would also resolve disputes and even act as a pressure group on campus for students' welfare.

3. FALSE: On the basis of the fact that not every group must have economic value, albeit one you understand. The club in itself is made up of members each with socio-economic contributions on campus. And even down to the palm wine they buy, emblem they buy, regalia and capito they sew and other paraphernalia of the club. The club members purchase these from the people who make them/offer these services.

4. FALSE: I dont know what population you identified and how you drew your samples and the parameters you used in measuring waywardness. Please do share this research work. Let us see the research study and data you analyzed to arrive at this seemingly confident yet highly biased conclusion.

5. FALSE: There is no such thing. This is your personal view of members of the club. I could also just view the Church as a bunch of pedophiles and tryst committing sects and cult groups. Afterall some pastors rape members, sleep with members wives and some priests rape children too. They also have rites that they perform during service. Hence, they are a bunch of sex maniacs and pedophilic cult members.

6. FALSE: I doubt if Kegites distract students as much as sports betting, football, pornography, substance abuse, partying, their mobile devices and even as much as their fellow students, especially of the opposite gender. Most Ilyas gyrate once a week unless there is a special occasion like matriculation, convocation etc. Their gyration is entertaining and humorous and serves as a good avenue among others to experience humor and fun.

7. FALSE: They are not majorly cultists. That is like saying all Nigerians are drug pushers, internet scammers and thieves because of a few bad eggs.

I was a member. And none of the above applies to me. As for 5, no one can help you with that. Live and enjoy your own version of reality.

It is like saying ALL Nigerians should be banned worldwide because we are known to be loud, confident, fun loving, speak our minds and a few give the country a bad name. Even among the scripture unions, they were cult guys. On Sundays some would go to church too. We should therefore close down all Universities and their campuses. They breed cultists.

So yeah, if you are foolish enough to call anyone you come across '' foolish'', then I guess you simply inherited foolishness, and it is in your DNA. It comes down from a long lineage and well embedded in your chromosome.

Since they say do not argue with a foolish person, as they will drag you down to their level and beat you at it, I will simply allow you to win. You are a highly professional and very skilled foolish person with many years of experience including even adverse consequences of loss and failure due to absolute foolishness and stupidity. Should I then deny being Nigerian? No I wont. Why should I? Because some faceless person on a forum with many mentally unstable and disrespectful children thinks so? Your thoughts or opinions have no existential importance.

No one is arguing about anything. It is a waste of energy to argue. It is just in your imagination. A kegite Chief was murdered gruesomely. I commented that back in the days kegites members were not a part of any cult group, but nowadays things have changed. That is a fact. Not an argument.

MODIFIED

I have noticed a lot of people criticizing me for speaking about the Club and stating the simple fact that it never encouraged its members to be cultists. I was not a cultist. Never was, never will.

Please know this. Just because many Nigerians are greedy thieves and kidnappers and drug pushers and sex workers and slaves in Libya and ritual killers and child traffickers and ballot box snatchers, thugs, cultists, and touts and are even worse things I haven't mentioned here, DOES NOT MEAN I WILL DENY BEING NIGERIAN OR BE ASHAMED TO BE NIGERIAN. I TENDER MY INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT WITH PRIDE.

Are we proud of the criminality of many Nigerians? No. Do we want to see positive changes? Yes. Are we going to be ashamed of being Nigerian? Not me.

I started butter consumption very late in life, didn’t have it till I was 13 and I’m 30+ and still obsessed with it shamelessly. If not with bread, I eat it with biscuit or yam on a regular. I wanted to ask if I was normal until I saw this post and other people’s fantasies gave me hope. Who don try yam and butter before?
Yam and butter is Yummy.

Make sure the yam is a bit hot, so the butter melts into the yam.

You are perfectly normal.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: What Did You Do With Your First Salary? by 10thTenthMan: 4:09pm On Dec 28, 2022
Brings back old memories.

The only special thing I did was give my mum a huge chunk of it.

I assisted some family members to solve some pressing issues.

Beyond that I did not give any thieving pastor a dime.

It was when housing benefits were paid, which ran into many millions, that I went on to start acquiring properties and expanding my income stream through side hustles.
TravelRe: What Scares You The Most About Relocating Abroad? by 10thTenthMan:
SiotohGlobal:
Some Nigerians are very superstitious when it comes to Japa affairs. Some are afraid of being in an environment whose language they don't understand while some fear the cost of living and some are uncomfortable about their safety in their new location.

Let's talk, what scares you the most about relocating abroad?
CONCERN 1:

MAINTAINING THE FAMILY TO LIVE AND ENJOY THE SAME STANDARD OF LIVING AS EXPERIENCED IN NIGERIA. QUALITY OF LIFE WAS THE MAIN CONCERN.

CONCERN 2:

MANAGING A LONG DISTANT RELATIONSHIP WITH MY SPOUSE. ISSUES BORDERING ON FIDELITY AND PURITY OF THE MARRIAGE BED. COULD SHE MANAGE SEEING ME ONCE EVERY 2 MONTHS? COULD I MANAGE NOT HAVING A WOMAN ONCE EVERY TWO MONTHS? Hilariously, I would complain about the expensive side of flying to Canada just to have sex. Of course, over time, you just forget about the urge and don't let it bother you.

To me the decision to leave is not just because the grass is greener on the other side. That was not my intention. I was and still am well to do in Nigeria. So, it was not really about economics. IT IS NOT ABOUT EARNING IN POUNDS OR EUROS OR CANADIAN DOLLARS. NO!!!. IT WAS ABOUT SECURITY, SAFETY AND QUALITY OF LIFE. LIFE IS SO CHEAP in Nigeria. So cheap with a failed government. I was not ready to play ''kalo-kalo'' with my kids' lives and futures. What is the use of a BIG MAN that cannot even take a stroll? A big man that cannot live freely? A big man that I will sneak into the village and sneak out? A big man that can be attacked anywhere in Nigeria and abducted.

In Canada, the area is quiet. Crime is low. I am not worried about a container that will fall and crush my family on Ikorodu road. Not worried about 1 million boys that will attack me. Or ritual killers and kidnappers. And should these things happen, you will see good efforts at ensuring it never reoccurs. BUT IN NIGERIA LIFE IS CHEAP. The government does not care. 200 People can die of the same causes, and no one will give a damn. Police will say 'go about your usual business'. Politicians will say it was the opposition. In Canada, I am not worried about a rabid policeman shooting me while driving home. Or armed robbers robbing me while jogging. Someone beheading me while going about my usual business. I have met policemen. I have been stopped and interrogated. And they were more civil than ALL NIGERIAN POLICEMEN I HAVE ENCOUNTERED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE AND EXISTENCE. Answered their questions, gave my license. Did not bribe any. And when they realized I was just arriving the country, I was let off with a warning and advice on the route to take and driving norms in Canada. Some people complain about racism. Here in Nigeria, I see ethnicity and tribalism. In fact, people are killed yearly due to these tribal conflicts. In Lagos, LASTMA set a trap and snare for me. In fact, they told me to take a route I never knew was one-way, and the same people arrested me, towed my car and demanded bribes.

I hear people type a load of rubbish and nonsense about staying back and solving Nigeria's problems. Sorry I WILL NOT. NO. TUFIAKWA!!!! I WONT GAMBLE WITH THAT. I will rather take my chances overseas. And I have already. I am enjoying it well too. Life is about probability. I may not be omniscient but from data and statistics, I would rather take the chance overseas. So, the point is not about that ''Japa is for those who are weak''. Or ''the grass isn't greener on the other side'' or that gunmen go on killing sprees in the US. Or that they did not allow you microwave your pungent Nigerian food in the office microwave overseas. Or in US, Europe and Canada there is cold. What stupid cold are we talking about? What useless cold? This same Cold has killed less and fewer Nigerians than our ''beloved'' Fulani Herdsmen, the Nigerian Police, Unknown Gun Men, Nigerian Doctors, Kidnappers, many cursed Nigerian nurses, convoys of Government Officials, etc. Cold has killed less Nigerians when compared with the Nigerians killed on the 25th of December, 2022 alone by this country's madness. So, to some of us, the point is that it is when you are alive and healthy that you can solve the country's problems.

My mind was made up about the country NIGERIA, as being a place where I didn't want to raise my children. I would not have been comfortable raising my kids here. Let them move and grow up in peace. I can be here trying to solve Nigeria's problems with you people. And that is even because I am economically strong and with respect to wealth and that I am part of the Upper Middle-class. My wife also works in Canada too to offer additional support. Otherwise, I would have left with them. So for me, my major fears therefore were:

1. COULD THE FAMILY LIVE ON THE SAME STANDARDS WHERE WE COULD AFFORD THE SAME THINGS WE AFFORDED IN NIGERIA? Would there be a drastic decline in quality of life? And

2. COULD the family remain intact with me seeing my wife (and family) for about a week every two (2) months?

MOST UPPER MIDDLE-CLASS FAMILIES THAT MOVE DO NOT MOVE BECAUSE OF ECONOMIC REASONS. WE MOVE BECAUSE LIFE IS CHEAP, UNCERTAIN, WITHOUT GUARANTEE AND FLEETING HERE IN NIGERIA. WE CANNOT TAKE SUCH A RISK WITH OUR FAMILIES, WITH OUR CHILDREN. WE WILL DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO PROTECT OUR FAMILIES.
