Joeadamu86: This is a positive development,it shows how prudent this administration, let this tempo be maintained..
Of what use is the reserve when there are no good roads, the educational system is seriously in need of proper funding, electricity supply is still an issue and poverty is generally high in the country. Positive economic indices only makes sense when it reflect on the life of the common man.

if you read your bible well you'd see that the statements were made by jesus himself and then written in words by matthew
What evidence do you have to show that Jesus actually said those words besides Mr Matthew's claims? The bible have always contradicted itself yet you guys believe it is infallible.

Christianity EtcRe: History Of Christianity, 1st & 2nd Millenium by 2good(m): 11:07am On Sep 30, 2012
I saw the whole content of the movie for a total of about 6hrs and 4mins and it was really educating. The problem is that most Christians will refuse to watch this movie because they don't want to question their current believes or probe the world around them further. In summary I think history is very important so that one will understand where he/she is coming from.
Christianity EtcRe: Earthquake Alert! by 2good(m): 6:53pm On Sep 25, 2012
Evang. S. Olowu:
Attention all Nigerians!
On the 14th of Sept. 2012 in my night dream, the Great God of Heaven revealed to me a great an earthquake happened in Nigeria. Many great buildings collapsed and many sunk down into the earth. Many people both men, women, boys, girls and children could not be found as they have sunk down into the earth below.

Again on the 24th of Sept. 2012 in the afternoon at about 2:40pm the Holy God revealed to me in my dream.
I saw a great an earthquake occured in Nigeria: many great buildings collapsed while many sunk down into the earth below, and many people both men, women, boys, girls including children and properties went down to the earth below, many people carrying their children were running helter skelter.

I saw and behold it was terrible.

Now I advice you all let everybody pray for his/her state that God of Heaven should have mercy on us and prevent such an earthquake from happening.

Evang. S. Olowu
Nigeria is not in anyway close to a tectonically active plate, so what you saw is in your dream, is your own imagination. Get some education on the cause of Earthquake. You might start with the image below.

Christianity EtcRe: Did She Loose Faith Or She Was Just A Church-goer? by 2good(m): 5:45am On Sep 25, 2012
Maria-G:
She is a very nice, cheerful and simple girl. As a born catholic, she never misses early morning masses and other society meetings. She is really dedicated to her academic work (a student of College of Education, Nsugbe, Anambra state) and also to church work.
On that fateful day, as usual, she was on her to the church for the early mass, she was intercepted by a group of boys who raped her mercilessly, each one taking his turn. As a result of that, the girl drifted into unconciousness. As the day brightened, people spotted her and took her to the hospital where she regained conciousness and also narrated her ordeal. The doctor adviced that she returned after 3months to check her HIV status, at least to be on the safer side.
After 3 months, she went in for the check up and she was told that she tested positive for HIV. She was so heartbroken and vowed to share the national cake to any guy that crosses her path. She packed up all her belongings and left school for Port-harcourt where she started her "ashawo" career.
After sometime, she returned to her school to check on her result, only for her to bump into the doctor that treated her. The doctor was so happy, saying that he has been searching for her everywhere, that he wants to tell her something concerning her test. The girl actually tested negative for HIV, the mistake was from the hospital lab scientists.
She was so weak on hearing that news. Weak, angry, furious, all the likes, she felt like strangling the doctor.
After 3months, she went back for check up and this time, she really tested positive for HIV after confirming from 2 other hospitals....
My question is this: she beleived in God; she served him; she loved him and just a little test of faith she failed woefully.
What made her do that? Did she just loose faith in God or what? Why didnt she call on God to help her? Why take matters into her hands.... Coming to the religious part of her life, did she just loose faith cus of the pain or she was just a church-goer all along, maybe sort of a camouflage?

Your views please......shalom!

dayokanu: If a woman abuse you, Abuse your own back is cool, What of women who think they can beat anyone.

If the woman screams you ignore, she gets aggravated and she hit the guy he ignores, Later bust bottle on his head breaks

There should be laws against all form of violence whether to wife, to husband, to children to househelps or drivers

Recently a Pastor slapped a minor and we are all giving excuses why the slap might be deserved
The bolded and colored shows you the level of hypocrisy entrenched in the Nigerian society. People want to choose what is good or bad based on their own intuition which is influenced by religious, cultural and tribal orientation. Oyedepo was practically exonerated by majority of Nigerian Christians and yet the same Christians will cry out to the public if they are treated the same way.
Bunch of hypocrites.
Christianity EtcRe: Nigerian Churches: Who Are They Building Universities For? by 2good(m):
Joagbaje: What were the school built for? What was the vision behind the institutions ? Was it built for church members or less privilege? Or built to save the decay of quality education in the nation? .

If the vision for the institution was for free education or for Christians only or for the poor. You may blame them . But I don't think that's the case.

Churches should not be castigated for the fees in schools. He school is public institution and normal fees should be paid .
Uncle Joe, you really need to stop this your blind faith and start looking at things from reality. While Winners Chapel was raising funds to build Covenant university, I know how much my father contributed to the project from his salary and after the school was completed, none of his children could attend the school because it was too expensive while his rich brother who was not a member of the church could send his children to the school because he has the money. How can you support a situation where the church members that contributed to the building of the university, cannot send their children there to study?

Christianity EtcRe: Why No Riots Over Jesus's Wife Story? by 2good(m):
londoner: @ Dudu Negro....are you seriously equating renaming of french fries and pouring bottles of french wine by a minute group of people in America, with the violence and death we have seen across the Muslim world and major cities in the west?

How wide spread was this in America anyway......as far as I know Americans still call French fries , French fries and the wine incidents must have been so minute, because I heard nothing of it reported at the time.

Are you really equating those things with physically harming human beings, even killing?

This is not the first time either......we know what happened after cartoons and other inflammatory publications.

People who have been killed have been so far removed from the original offence it is just senseless killing of innocent people.

For example, why should a cartoon in Europe cause people in Nigeria to kill Nigerian Christians?

@Fagamite......just as you have claimed Jesus to be gay.....nobody will ever imagine offering money rewards to a person who hunts you down and kills you. Yet that is what has been offered to anyone who finds the film maker and kills him.

The average Christian (in this day and age) knows that to do that would be in their own name and not the name of Christianity

There will be no kids with placards calling for beheading of those who insult Jesus or calling for blood.
I am Agnostic Atheist but I really agree with all what you've said about Christianity and Islam in relation to violence. Islam is just one crazy intolerant religion when it comes to defending their powerless god and its prophets.

Guys if you don't have anything to say or do just go fishing and avoid incuring the wrath of God with ur comments
Your bible is the crap and your god is just in your imagination. You need to open your mind to reasoning.

I have experienced alot of things that defies human explanation and accept ignorance on such subject matters pending when I have the exact evidence to back up my claims. Religion on the other hand tell you to throw away your brain and accept by faith even if it is the dumbest reasoning there is. That's the difference between me and you. I am open to learning and do alot of research into any thing new to me. But you have practically shut your brain to reason as long as your biblical myth or pastors tells you to do so.

damilarelr: Hey Mr. Scientist/Engineer, the earth revolution around the Sun was normal until the day of the battle. There's nothing ignorant in what I wrote. For instance, it's just like how a permanent increase in cost price of a product affects the selling price, the extra cost has to be added. Do you get it?
Ok if thats the case, then using biblical time and assuming that Joshua lived like 5000 years ago, then we've had an extra 5000*0.25=1250 years extra to take care of the period that Joshua stopped the Sun. Does that still make sense to you? And also when will that 1/4 of a year that was lost, stop being compensated for? Use your brain bro and stop reposting something you were told by your pastor.

Christianity EtcRe: Is Science More Accurate Than The Bible? by 2good(m): 7:13am On Sep 18, 2012
damilarelr: Science actually teaches there are 365 and one quarter days in a year. That's why every three years (of 365 days), the fourth year will carry one additional day in February.

The extra 1/4 day (6 hours) on all the years was the duration which sun stayed still in the days of Joshua.

Next..
This is the height of ignorance. I cannot stand religious bigots because their level of irrationality and narrow mindedness is just annoying and to the extreme. Give me a scientific paper and the theories that support your claim that the extra 1/4 day is the duration that the sun stood still. For your information, if the earth is 4.54 billion years old geologically, then we would have had an etra 0.25*4.54billion= 1.135billion years.
Then to give you a little benefit of the doubt by assuming that the earth is 6,000 years old based on biblical stories, then it means there have been an additional 0.25*6000=1,500 years so far. Are you saying the earth stood still in the presence of Joshua for 1,500 years(if we use the bible) or 1.135 billion years(geological time) when the oldest man in the world according to the bible is less than 1500 years? Does that make any sense to you at all? You have a brain so please use it to think before you type anything in the public. You make the people with Science and Engineering background in this forum look daft by engaging people like you in a discussion.

The only thing I like about you is that you are very civil in public discussion which I really admire and respect in your response to posts. Christianity EtcRe: Is Science More Accurate Than The Bible? by 2good(m): 2:18pm On Sep 15, 2012
Joagbaje: That was the understanding of the writer then. And that was what scientist taught in that generation. One the was clear . The sun stood still for a day. It is scientifically proven that a day is missing.

Nigerians need to stop looking for spiritual cleansing and instead use physical cleansing to solve the country's problem. Enough with praying and fasting. Physical action is all that is needed to bring about any meaningful change.

AjanleKoko: Bros, this is unnecessary.
BlueDiva actually works for an oil company.
Plus, I think most of you misunderstood her. She's not trying to rain on anybody's parade. She only queried the reason for a parade in the first place. Which i understand perfectly. She's a HR person. Why would a staff of Total come on this thread and declare the company's remuneration to the general public? If you were a staff of Total, disclosing your package details on a public Internet forum is most likely a breach of your employment contract and you could be fired.

And how come the singular thing about Total that is discussed on this thread is their salary?

Is it just me (and maybe BlueDiva), or is there something seriously wrong with Nigerians? huh
What do you think she's trying to say from this her post?

" Maybe if i irritate you long enough you would go out and get a real job.
It's embarrassing to see a grown man like you 24hrs on a particular thread fantasizing about someone else's job."

Not everybody posting on Nairaland is a desperado, so people should understand that before posting here. If you don't like something, just walk and stop creating unnecessary drama.
I personally make post from time to time but have been avoiding this thread for sometime because of uncivil behavior displayed by some people here. You can make your point without insulting people but some people are just plain rude and need a civil education.

The offer was just a little less than 4m per annum, including all benefits with the damnation of being posted to any state of the federation. I rejected this offer cos I got something better elsewhere.
So, it kinda amazes me to see the figures quoted here. Perhaps they only apply to Totol grin upstream
I think almost everybody giving advice here knows the difference. Downstream doesn't pay well generally because the market is very much localized.
