SportsRe: NFF Leaves Kenya Team Without Security As Harambee Stars Train In Oshodi Pry Sch by 360command: 3:05pm On Mar 21, 2013
The last qualifiers for the world cup we played against kenya , they treated us in an unpleasant way. They took us to the mountain tops where the topography was not so good in football playing. This guys took us to a region were cold varies amongst cold condition in different part of the country. They took us to a place where it was not as pleasant as Jos. Despite the hitches, we came out victorious which made us to qualify for south africa 2010. Thanks to oba goal(obafemi Martins and co who showed them that come rain, come sunshine, come hamattan, come snow , we must deliver and we delivered . Left to me, I don't see Nigeria been bad,we wait for other countries to do us bad before we reply back. I am tired of this . Let us see ourselves doing bad to other countries first just like the way israel play bad to palestine .

If you can remember the days of cele , he was among those players they invite who come to camp late , when they are in camp , they are always looking for girls or not part of the training team because of the clubs they play with back in europe(they feel too proud) especially when they go camping in portugal or spain invited by the S.eagles. Notwithstanding the fact that he did well in the days of atlanta but then the guy was very indiscipline.

yuzedo: Lol! Went thru this crap last month. The foolish immigrations people singled me out for random search/questioning.

What do you do? I am a Financial Analyst in a Private Equity firm. Ok, please come down from the bus.

They go through my phone. They go through my laptop! On my laptop they saw the movie "Police Academy" and raised alarm, what am I doing with sensitive documents eh? Is this not the Police Academy in Kano? This must be classified info! Who are you and why do you have this on your system?

Chai! See the ignorant, illiterates we entrust our security!

I got home at 12am that day after leaving Accra at 7.30am. Meanwhile some days prior to that I arrived accra at 8pm. All because the Nigeria axis is a failed portion of the journey.

Police Academy, Kano! grin grin grin
A friend was also singled out by men of NDLEA, his bags and phones were searched. According to my friend, he says even if you have a brother that stays in the USA as long as they see +1 ... they do not care if he is your brother but they think probably you are into 419.. Our securities on the road are F000LISH.

I just do not know when this nightmare will come to an end.

TravelThe Journey From Accra To Lagos By Road. by 360command(op): 11:48pm On Mar 11, 2013
I feel very bitter narrating my experience or peoples experience on the journey from Accra to Lagos by road. I feel very bitter on the type of govt we have back in Nigeria. Nigeria in my heart but for how long will this people in govt continue to make us suffer? I have traveled by road and by air across various countries in the west African region and I must say that travelling by road to Lagos along the ECOWAS route is very pathetic. Due to the experience my friends encountered on the road when travelling, I have decided to write about the journey not given much details but the areas which needs to be handled seriously.
They(my friends) arrived Ghana by road from Lagos so as they can come to collect their certificate, recommendation and reference letter in other for them to be able to use to apply for their masters program abroad which was successful. The journey was with ease when arriving Ghana but the journey from Accra, Ghana to Lagos, Nigeria is worrisome especially when you reach SEME border which is Benin republic and Nigeria.infact, from Seme border down to Mile 2 is where the journey begins and this is very hectic.
SEME border as it is, is in a total mess and I wonder how many years it will take for the govt to fix things in order at the border. The sight is nothing to write home about, a noisy atmosphere where everybody does things helter-skelter. The drive back home from Seme into lagos city is ghastly. The roads are very bad with lots of potholes waiting to finish your shocks and create accidents. A lot of checkpoint by men in paramilitary and govt agencies such as customs, immigration , NDLEA, Police, quarantine, FRSC area boys acting as they were kept by govt on the road etc.
I strongly believe that there are over 37 checkpoint (legal or illegal) along badagry expressway. A 1km distance on that road , we can see about 8-10 different paramilitary on the road. This slows down the travel times covered to reach Lagos city itself. If every country in westafrica were to have such high numerous checkpoints that we are having in Nigeria, I do not think travelling by road will be worth it. It is very pathetic to see those paramilitaries collecting bribes on road so as they can allow vehicles or goods to pass. Those officers mean business and permit me to use this word ‘their eyes dey chook’. I do not see them as officers who are doing their job but they are there to waste peoples time and money not caring about where they are going.
I am not happy with the Nigerian government, I am not happy with ECOWAS. I really do not know what ECOWAS are doing in Abuja, I do not know why our govt cannot remove those paramilitary off the ECOWAS road at once without them from coming back. At least, there should be about 5 checkpoint on the road. Our govt should understand that Nigeria is the only country we have and we have no other place to go other than Nigeria. They should just make the country a better place for us to live in. they should remove the stress out of us. Even though they have money to enter flight, there are many people who do not have. Is it too much to ask from the govt just to help us? Shey na like this we go de dey?

There are four major african languages that are been taught internationally. They are swahili, huasa, yoruba and igbo . I guess the US are seeking for yoruba and hausa teachers.

Our commercial buses needs decongestion. We do not need 4 on a sit , we need 3 on a sit . I am sick and tired of our yellow commercial buses constructing seat where it is made of wood for sitting and iron as stand . We no dey try abeg. Go to kenya and you will have a marvellous feeling of their commercial buses at the 'danfo level' .

TravelRe: How Painful US Visa Denial Could Be.... by 360command: 12:17am On Mar 02, 2013
Seriously , the best way for you to prepare for an interview is by acting as if you speak french and not english. What I mean is , been a french speaker while learning on how to speak english makes you want to answer straight as the question is given. You don't jump the gun . Example : how much do you earn? I earn 30000 naira monthly . Please do not beat about the bush .

I remember when I was preparing for a french exam for an interview . The fact that my french was not perfect enough made me answer directly and precise as to what the interviewer asked me.

PoliticsRe: Can Nigeria Become A Super Power Without Electricity? by 360command: 10:47am On Feb 27, 2013
andrewza: Taking that saying to heart means you saying that every countrie more powerfull than nigeria has to suffer a major disaster. Thus making nigeria the one eyed man. It is next imposibil that every country would be knocked out that badly and if they do nigeria will fall. Where you going to buy your finshed products and sell your oil.
yes, something like that. We all saw the global recession that happened . Its not like Nigeria was affected by it unlike how it was affected in europe or US where a lot of jobs were cut etc. So yes, countries can be affected by major disaster such as nature disaster so it can be possible. We have seen it through global economic crisis such as the recession,in this life, we never know what can happen.
PoliticsRe: Can Nigeria Become A Super Power Without Electricity? by 360command: 10:21am On Feb 27, 2013
Yes Nigeria can become a super power without electricity because there is a proverb in french that says , 'Aux pays des aveugles le borgne est Roi' - In a country of blind people ,one eyed man is the king'. Now if other african countries or countries are adamant in becoming a super power, where they are blind in been that super power, we (nigeria) that is blind can have advantage over other country. Note: the advantage becomes a 'one eye' for us to be the king or super power as the scenario given. This is in relation to the proverb I gave in the beginning . IN A COUNTRY OF BLIND PEOPLE , ONE EYED MAN IS THE KING.

Foreign AffairsRe: The 25 Most Miserable Places In The World by 360command: 8:31pm On Feb 23, 2013
I am not surprise about burkina faso , been there once on a visit to see my girl. A country like Niger ought to be in number 2 while burkina faso should be number 3 . In niger republic, if you are in a restaurant , do not make a move by leaving your food behind to wash hands or piss cause there are people waiting to collect the food. Even when you finished eaten, the left over would be taken by people watching you as you eat . To tell you the truth, suffer pass suffer and I tell you that in Nigeria, we are not suffering . People seem not to appreciate Nigeria, but when you travel out of the border areas, you will know that nigeria is a very good place
PoliticsRe: Russian Sailors Face Life-Imprisonment In Nigeria by 360command: 11:03am On Feb 23, 2013
This is the scapegoat I have been talking about here on nairaland . Nigeria needs to deal with this people who deal with us rudely and badly . If one of russian or foreign citizen is kept behind bars ,then I know we are living the legacy. We need to treat this guys by putting them behind bars if found guilty. Afterall, we went through law process and russia or UN cannot do jack about it by retaliating with war because they have also kept our people behind bars without the aid of a translator during court process.
