iammo: If a president is foolish enough to sign bills rushed on his desk by the sinking 8 assembly headed by saraki then he isn't fit to govern
The same Saraki that snakishly added a cluase that stated result would only be acceptable only if it was sent electronically, just three month to election knowing fully well that even his kwara can't boost of 70% internet penetration over there landmass,
he greedily wanted to reorder election sequence , so that we could have wasted a whole weekend for senatorial election not minding inec overhead cost.
They tried pressuring Buhari using there twitter influencers, And Media but failed. I believe they would still fail.
That was how Jonathan was tricked to sign the worst sales agreement known to mankind by selling off PHCN to some few elites without any buy back clause or arcertaining if the new distribution company has capacity to provide meters And transformers. Till now just because of one mans hasty signature, we all have to contend with fraudulent estimated billing Quit making shyte up... The privatization (actually partial privatization) of the electricity sector was done under the Electricity Sector Reform Act of 2005 - that is, a law enacted EIGHT YEARS BEFORE the actual privatization in 2013, not under any so-called “hasty sales agreement”. The reason the DISCOs are struggling are obvious. Among other things, Buhari’s federal government (which still own 40% of each DISCO) has not met its own part of the performance agreement and has not injected its own share of equity funding to enable the DISCOs rehabilitate and expand facilities. In addition, until the government regulator agrees to cost-reflective tariffs (currently held to about an average of N31.26 kw/h while generation costs N80 kw/h) the DISCOs will always make losses and will never have attractive enough balance sheets to borrow from banks and debt-finance rehabilitation and expansion. Not to mention that in a country of an estimated nearly 200 million citizens there are just about 6 million registered customers inherited from PHCN records, while the military, police and MDAs continue to default on their electricity bills. |

Rather, they were built by international donors and the Presidential Committee. Overall, it’s a GOOD development but it’s only the hardware. The software - qualified and competent teachers and staff - is even more important. Without the latter, these buildings are just white elephants. |

senatordave1: If saraki was representing buhari with buhari's consent, then the award, actions and agreement is valid.intact, once an action has been taken before a court, another equal court cant cancel it whether valid or not. let the appeal court invalidate it... Against my better judgment... For the umpteenth time, the Asaba court did NOT “cancel”, “nullify” nor “vacate” the Abuja court judgment. In fact, it did not even mention the Abuja court judgment at all. It merely issued an order in a DIFFERENT case between parties DIFFERENT from the Abuja parties, which it is competent to do. The existence of a different ruling from another court of concurrent jurisdiction does not invalidate any part of the order. Because I am feeling charitable today, I will further indulge with an explanation of how these matters play out. The winning party in the Asaba case will now take the order to register for execution and serve an order of execution on the parties actually involved (INEC?). That party can then elect to approach an appellate court to resolve any conflict between the two disparate orders. If not, the served order will be executed. |

Lets summary this.the asaba court gave a judgment and part of which encroached or affected agege.can we now agree that that encroachment is of no effect until an appeal court rules reason being that agege is protect fully by a similar court last year ? Even though I did not call Omo-Agege a tout... Of course I am “biased” against anyone who invaded the Senate chamber with thugs to illegally remove its mace of authority! senatordave1: Help us answer these questions.was the suit filed by an apc member? If yes, from which faction? [b]Thirdly, did the suit border on which is the recognized faction or not ?[b] You still do not get it (and frankly it is doubtful your partisanship will allow you to do so)... For example, you and I can file different suits in different parts of the country in courts of concurrent jurisdiction over the SAME subject matter (eg, over Education Tax or VAT). So long as you and I are NOT joined/impleaeded in each other’s lawsuit through valid service of process (which even Omo-Agege explicitly recognizes), or the cases otherwise consolidated, each of those DIFFERENT courts of concurrent jurisdiction each can reach a DIFFERENT outcome, and each of such outcomes shall constitute a VALID legal order. Accordingly, the only way to resolve any “conflicting” practical effect by any affected person(s) (in my example, the FIRS and/or collecting businesses) would be by recourse to a higher court. Publishing gibberish in newspapers (or insulting folks on the Internet) is NOT the remedy. |

senatordave1: Is he correct or not ? NO! First, he does not have to be served/joined in a case against INEC (and/or APC)...
Nonetheless, he is NOT qualified to make such pronouncements (and of course neither am I - nor you). The law courts remain the appropriate forum for the arbitration of such legal disputes. A lawmaker should at the very least grasp the very basic concept of the RULE OF LAW! SMH
senatordave1: You are so empty,an unrepentant blockhead.you finally ended up at the appeal court.but inorder to put you to shame, let me oblige your gibberish a little.mind you,you even partially justified my write up.firstly, tell us the full judgment of the asaba high court.secondly, mention the parties involved. I still will not join you in the gutter of personal insults, as I was raised better... Nonetheless, on the substantive matter at hand, unless you have been operating under a basic comprehension deficit, I did not “end up” at the courts. I started at the courts and stuck to the courts. My counsel to Omo-Agege has always been to do so. AGBEROS won’t help him this time. |
Celebrities › Re: Adesua Etomi Reacts To Her Vogue Magazine Cover Controversy by 9jaRealist: 5:42pm On Mar 19, 2019 |
Memphitz537: Thanks for the correction of my typographical error. I agree with most of the points you made. Where I have a problem with most Nollywood actors and actresses is that they just CAN'T act. Let's be honest, there is no basis for comparing Adesua's achievements with that of Lea Seydoux. Mind you,it's very difficult for a French artist to cross over to Hollywood because of language barrier but she became prominent in less than 10 years. Why?? It's because she's a damn good actress. Abeg make we stop to dey overhype all these our no talent having muthafuckaz we have as actors and actresses. Or is it because she is French? Not sure where you got the notion that French actresses have difficulty in crossing over to Hollywood (so long as they speak English), given that there have been scores of a French actresses in a Hollywood movies before even our parents were born - going back to such actresses as Bridget Bardot and Jeanne Moreau in the 1950s/60s. Even, as I write this, I can easily think of tons of French actresses currently starring in Hollwood just off the top of my head, such as Juliette Binoche, Eva Green, Sophie Marceau, Melanie Laurent, Audrey Flouret, Marion Cotillard, Elodie Fontan, Virginie Efira, and so many others. Heck, even the clumsy Gerard Depardieu once breathe the air of Hollywood royalty. PS: Btw (and perhaps this should be a discourse for another day and topic), ‘acting’ in Nigerian/African movies should of necessity be different from ‘acting’ in Hollywood/Oyibo movies, because the natural mannerisms of Africans/Nigerians are considerably DIFFERENT from that of Oyibo. |

senatordave1: Oga,shut up.will you keep quiet.what arrogant lie is this.how dare you? Stop talking nonsense here.don't make me say what i dont want to.how can you type rubbish and still have the impudence to claim you are right instead of taking corrections.are you blind to see that a high court already ruled on this matter last year and inec already obeyed.even a mad man knows that only a superior court can vacate this ruling.so you expect inec to now obey this ruling which is worthless? You even claim that it is different parties as if it did not involve erue factions, agege or was filed by someone in the ogodo faction.dont allow hatred for apc to make you vomit trash.or are you in the emerhor faction Only people who have nothing of substance to contribute and/or have a poor upbringing (or perhaps are worshippers/thugs of Omo-Agege ) resort to insults and ad hominem personal attacks on fellow discussants on a public forum, so I will not join you in that gutter. To the substantive matter at hand, for the umpteenth time, the Asaba court did NOT “vacate” or “nullify” the ruling of the Abuja court. It simply made a ruling in a DIFFERENT case between DIFFERENT parties (as even the Omo-Agege character explicitly recognizes). Where there exists such a practical lacuna as in this instance of two DIFFERENT and disparate rulings of courts of concurrent jurisdiction effectively affecting the same res or subject matter, the proper resolution is to head to the appellate courts and not to drivel gibberish on the pages of newspapers (or have his worshippers do same on Nairaland). His thugs can steal the mace again, but they CANNOT swear him into office. |

Memphitz537: My attention was particularly drawn to the lady that featured prominently in the said Vogue magazine cover. Her name is Léa Seydoux. She's a French model and actress. Her sojourn into Nollywood began when she played a one scene act only in Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds in 2009. She then played another prominent role in Mission Impossible 4(Ghost Protocol) in 2011 and Her most recent role which put her on the Hollywood map was her being the Bond girl in the recent James Bond franchise "Spectre"....... Now,where am I driving at with this? Our very own Adesua's achievements CANNOT be compared to any of the models used on the cover of this magazine because she hasn't achieved anything significant in her career. Truth be told,Adesua CAN'T act. She just has a pretty face and that's where it ends. Nothing more. I am sure you meant to write “Hollywood”, nonetheless... I don’t know what you personally do for a living, but hopefully you do not think that it is worthless or subpar because it is not being done in Oyiboland. The colonalized and subjugated mentality of the miseducated “repeat-after-me” African really needs to be detoxified. Do you know how many hundreds of millions of people Nollywood reaches across Africa, the diaspora and even as far afield as the Caribbean? Abegi, it is all well and good that she has gotten more global attention with the Vogue cover, but it is NOT necessary as a validation of her craft or appeal. |
