A country cannot operate on imports and little export, huge debt profile and rising inflation yet still expect its currency to hold value, how can Naira strengthen against dollars when 80% of businesses, individuals in 9ja use the dollar as their main transaction currency with the outside world? Bitcoin is not issued by the CBN. They didn't 'ban Bitcoin', They stopped it from passing through the banking system because the naira was losing value to it. How you may ask. Well, crypto companies convert their profits to US dollars before repatriating. That was putting pressure on our scarce forex resources and further weakening an already weak currency. Also, Yahoo boys launder money through BTC and allowing it pass through the banking system is just making it easier.

Makes no sense, today it is stopping crypto related finances tomorrow it is stopping the use of foreign currencies completely, sounds like a government that is always reasctive instead of proactive.
