if you like shout till thy kingdom come, nothing will change. When people realize there's no legal consequence they tend to become confident so ask yourself if there are no deterrents, what would motivate a rapist not to rape? This is not an issue for men alone, our politicians, those in the judiciary, legislative and executive branch, what have they done to update the law against rape? What has changed in this regard in the past 20 years? If men are beast then women are equally complacent, the mothers, the wives, the neighbors, the church leaders, marketwomen, all of una know at least one or two rapists but chose to keep quiet, when una ready for true change, please let us know....for now let us all keep shouting on social media and writing epistles. |
chatinent:Yes and you knew this because you were one of the barbers in the shop.....Werey ![]() |
By 2023, it will be 700 Naira to 1 dollar. Abokifx is not the problem, the problem is simple, what exactly is backing the Naira? A dead economy, national debt, high unemployment and terrorists everywhere. For goodness sake, we IMPORT EVERYTHING & PRODUCE ZILCH! As usual every facet of this government is clueless, wicked and plain foolish! Even if you remove abokifx, does it change the fact that demand for foriegn import far outweighs the supply? Does it automatically give the banks the ability to sell enough dollars to satisfy the demands? Mumu people! |
Whether na mortgage, whether him buy am with cash, home owner na home owner. It is not easy at all, American house of 200k don turn 300k, house of 400k don turn 500k, the housing market is hot right now, congrats Sam! |
YoungLionken:Oga name of my president is Joseph Biden and my passport is blue, only reason I associate with the zoo is to monitor my investments and after 2023 if things continues going downhill, I liquidate and continue enjoying my life in jaapaland.....Ire o ![]() |
Most nairalanders are truly frustrated and unfortunate in life. Imagine the headline, look at the video, I expected tongue to tongue action, instead we have people using their frustrated life experience to spew rubbish.......No wonder na ancestors dey rule una, the youths have traded their brain for gala. |
motayoayinde:Everyone knows Iraq war was just Bush's personal mission but Afghanistan was a just cause. Forget Obama, do you know the amount of highly ranked terrorist killed by that operation? If USA had stayed at home, there were possibilities of more attacks on home soil, so they took the fight to them and it worked so far until recently. Furthermore, Osama basically alternated between Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran. If na you and you just committed Thanos style killings, you go stay for one place? |
mu2sa2:Obviously the man is worth more alive than dead....If he had died his secrets are buried with him but years of torture, chemical and physical experimentation and he'll continue spilling secrets till the day he dies. The problem the U.S has now is that they can never let him go and they do not want to make him a matyr like Osama, eventually they'll figure something out, till then let them keep wasting taxpayers' money. |
otipoju:I didn't know CCTV and hidden camera are the same...lol. You mean you brought a girl to smash at your place and you're telling her smile, I've got CCTV recording us? Even olosho go jaapa ![]() |
otipoju:Na so una dey land from frying pan to fire, in most advanced countries, installing CCTV or camera in the bedroom without informing the participant that he or she is being recorded is a crime, any evidence obtained from such medium is inadmissable in court. |
Parisian:Forced can mean anything, it can mean insisting, it can mean disown, it can mean anything so educate yourself and be specific. |
MufasaLion:That one na big task, una no hear say Western education or anything na haram . My friend they can't be liberated unless more and more of them start mass migrating like the Southerners. Even the ones wey relocate to Lagos to hustle, you can see small positive changes in their thinking and lifestyle compared to the ones wey remain, it's a sad story mehn. |
MufasaLion:Yes it is always better to allow 18 to 21 year old boys impregnate her and then have her abandoned at her parent's house with the baby. Most of us just know life on the internet, we don't fully understand the life people in the North or from highly poverty areas are facing. Moral of the story, make money so that you won't have to sell your daughter to one Alhaji or Chief ![]() |
emmanuelewumi:How many great grandchildren of the Kennedys, Rockefellers and Rothschilds do you know? Rockefeller's wealth for example is divided among over 100 descendants, so how could you possibly keep track of whom has lost what? 10 of those descendants could lose all their money and the generational wealth will still continue because the laws back then did not prevent blind irrevocable trust, this is still what you don't UNDERTSAND! The laws changed, it's more complex now in the USA, a credible lawyer can pick apart a trust like the Rockfellers' in most states except for 10 using alimony, medical etc, the law cannot be backdated hence it does not affect trusts established before the law came into effect, try that BS now in Georgia or New York and watch lawyers feast on you. Quit reading about past bulls**t and educate yourself on the modern legal landscape, I did not complete my Ph.D to be arguing frivolously on Nairaland, especially since we can't discuss actual cases but what you read on Investopedia....Enough of this! |
emmanuelewumi:So you know all the grandchildren of the Kennedys' and Fords'. Lmao....you crack me up, keep drinking that kool-aid. |
emmanuelewumi:Like i said reading is different from actual implementation, those people used existing laws to saefguard themselves, the legal landscape nowadays is different and it is pointless trying to argue with you because you will only ever know what you read online but never fully comprehend. Most of these new laws were created from the 1980s upwards long after Rothschild and Rockefeller but don't mind me, keep reading without context. |
Eriokanmi:Cool story....We also have Muslim scholars, professionals, doctors etc, whose wives are enjoying life within the confines of Islam. They do wear hijab most times but they also drive cars, are well respected in their careers and have time for their loving family think of Dubai, think of Malaysia think of some of them in the USA and Saudi Arabia. Islam is simple, interpretation is what causes confusion, when you take religion to the level of extremism then it is no longer religion but an addiction. It exists also in Christianity, read about some deeper life members, some Amish Christians and some deep Catholics. |
Evergreen4:You believe anything would change? Can your Trudeau defeat the gluttons called Senators, Reps and so on? Can he appease the Northern bloodthirsty demons? When will you guys wake up and realize no one man can fix Nigeria, how e wan campaign? Person wey no fit share rice and money..... ![]()
|
RPirez:Sure buddy ![]() |
emmanuelewumi:It's one thing to read about it, it's another to actually live it. Investopedia is a good starting point but it's like reading an elementary book. |
RPirez:Your comment would have made sense if kings were ruling Nigeria instead of the government, French Revolution was a revolt against the government, it just coincidentally happened to be a government made up of monarchy and royalty. The Aalafin, the Ooni, the Sultan, Oba of Benin does not control your destiny, they have no say in your succes or failure and if you feel they do then you've already lost the plot. In a country suffering like 9ja, the last thing you want to take away are people's beliefs and symbols, direct your anger towards Aso Rock and the goons who make up APC and PDP. |
emmanuelewumi:True but my comments are all about U.S Trust laws, anything outside of the USA falls outside of my expertise. |
emmanuelewumi:We are talking about US laws here not Nigerian, the discussion here should relate only to the initial topic and context. |
emmanuelewumi:Actually only two or three states allows full self Trust and another 7 allows partial self trust(family/spousal support can still be claimed). In most U.S. states , the Trust does not belong to the creator but to the beneficiary, it cannot be revoked and the creator derives zero benefits from it. E.g - The creator could create it for a child, the child will get the assets and appreciation upon the death of the creator. In this particular scenario, the house that she does not want the partner to know about is giving her a direct benefit through rents and someone smart would not have exposed herself on social media so I doubt she'll be wise enough to even think about Trust. |
emmanuelewumi:In the USA once you've been living with your partner for over a year, any transfer of assets in the past 3 years is looked at and can be reversed during divorce proceedings. In some states known as common law states, you don't even have to be married for your partner to claim equal rights to your assets. One of my uncles found this out the hard way...lol. |
emmanuelewumi:Person wey dey feel smart no go do prenup so that suspicion will not arise, only those with valuable assets think of prenups, trust account is a no no as that can be seen as evasion. Furthermore, the amount of people that actually get prenups is less than 10% of the marriage populace, love blinds easily especially when it involves someone with something to hide ![]() |
***BREAKING NEWS**** Man weds woman then divorces her 2 weeks later in order to collect 50% of her assets.......We die here ![]()
|
LegalRambles:The difference here is accountability. In advanced countries, your tax record, occupation, how you made your money is there for the public and investigators to see, nobody will harrass you or question your wealth since you are open but in 9ja, you'll see an 18-20 year old living in a house with 2 cars, no degree, no job, no history of taxation but we are to believe money flew down from the sky and accidentally jammed him or her? Which company do you work for? What business are you into? What have you invented? What do you sell or what services do you offer? If you are uncomfortable with these questions then your source of wealth is questionable! |
ModelLook:$30,000 to $60,000 yearly on average. |
When they say, "Let them be, they are not hurting anyone", news like this is what most of us fear, give them a little inch and they take the whole stadium". From schools to jobs to healthcare, if you make the mistake of not agreeing with them, you'll be crucified and CANCELED. Eventually they'll leave you with two options, either embrace their lifestyle or become relegated to a third world country......Jesu gba wa o |
These so called men of God keep exposing themselves. He talks to you but not once has he shown you how to save thousands of lives from kidnappings, herdsmen, boko etc. He talks to you on how to avoid traffic but not how to prevent tragedy in your own family. Wait wait wait, he talks to you but your church continues to harbor a terrorist sympathizer called Osibanjo. Sometimes it is better to be quiet than to expose yourself as the fraud people suspect you to be! |
It makes no logical sense for Tinubu to contest for president in 2023. If Buhari had a great track record, he could have used that as a booster but with the current situation, the best thing is to support someone charming and respectable by all Nigerians. If Tinubu wanted to contest, any bad thing about Buhari or weaknesses is surely to bite him in the ass. Buhari's disastarous record is a direct reflection on Tinubu as well hence it is time for a clean slate. Unfortunately this also disqualifies Osibanjo and any of Buhari's cabinet members. None of them can campaign based on: 1. Economy 2. Infrastructure 3. Security 4. Human Rights 5. Eliminating Corruption Only one option here.....RIG RIG RIG! |
