tunapawizzy:It all still came from love, the love of one's child or spouse can even make one rob a bank, we have many politicians and elites in Nigeria that would rather do the operation in Nigeria, they'll even pay the doctor to kill the donor and transplant the kidney, his biggest mistake is not trusting Nigerian doctors, plenty willing donors dey Nigeria and e no fit cost him more than 20-30 million, chicken change for a seasoned politician but you know what they say, those wey go perish go perish even if you warn them a million times. |
Ddworld:UK of all places, people wey dey vex naturally, you no do anything wrong sef dem don dey suspect you already ![]() |
With all that money, is it that he can't find credible surgeons here in Nigeria to carry out the operation? Unless the child lives in the UK and could not travel, I fail to see the logic here. Even if he did not believe in Nigerian doctors surely he can afford to get to the top of the donor list by donating large sums to some hospitals in the UK. Plenty options dey than to expose himself to human/organ trafficking. Love is a crazy thing, it blinds one to logic and exposes one's ignorance. |
Raalsalghul:America is still relatively safe when you consider all things. There will always be the 1-2% chance of danger but everyday millions of people here go about their daily lives and nothing happens. It's just like the risk of being kidnapped in Nigeria, even tho it happens, the probability of such occuring to you or someone you are close with is less than 5%, hard to believe but it's the truth. |
gambojimeta:Even if it was controlled by the Democrats, dem never born dem well to infringe on gun owners right, it is political and at times physical suicide! |
The place get air condition abi e no get? E get light, chair and table, abi e no get? Na human serve you food or na donkey? The cost to run business in 9ja now no be joke hence no dey expect to chop like glutton for restaurant. For Ikoyi, you go pay pass 3k for that food. |
cy4cent:Well not only men but women as well, you just don't notice it much with women because women are usually not the ones applying or toasting. It is human nature to feel hurt when rejected. Even the example you gave might not mean the guy is unhappy with his marriage, it might mean he's a chronic flirt and a cheat still trying to get in your pants...lol. Also is your information so easily available online that your rejections can easily communicate with you even years after? I love blocking people o, it is in my DNA, my personal phone number is divine and only a select few will ever get to know it. You women need to safeguard yourselves more especially when you know you're in demand ![]() |
cy4cent:You're reaching! There's no way you can deduce all that from a simple message. It is human nature to be petty, age does not mean maturity. Guy might be very happy in his marriage and wanted to show off to the person that rejected him. It is not only a human thing but it is also very Nigerian. Furthermore, do you keep contacts with guys you've rejected in the past? If the message is true then she left herself open to such communication. Rejection is not a big deal, how one deals with it is all that matters, this guy chose to deal with it this way but most guys won't choose the same path. Finally, your reference to Burna no tally, rejected? |
Fahdiga:Who cares about Tinubu, I'm trying to understand how anyone can be worse than Buhari. The past 7 years all we hear on Nairaland is Buhari this Buhari that, all we hear is how everything has gone worse, how Nigeria don finish......So you're saying all that na audio suffering? Real suffering will come with Tinubu? NO BE JUJU BE THAT? |
Fahdiga:You do see the irony in your comment don't you? So there's someone worse than Buhari? Una don dey trap una sef one by one . Buhari wey be calamity, so there's someone worse than him......COMEDIANS ![]() |
LOBATAN......Some people don dey buy snipper in anticipation.....Awon Obidient werey ![]()
|
Tinubu on their neck, Tinubu in their head, they can't sleep, eat, live without talking about Jagaban, even opposition dey advice Tinubu. He should have given Fayemi or Osibanjo so that it can be a landslide victory for Atiku/North. Classic political manipulation that's got the Nairaland maggots rejoicing.....Awon werey ![]() |
Agadinaagwuofe:You're still speaking grammar, even if divine miracle happens and Obi happened to get 50-60% of the votes from the South, the North is bound to finish him because he is very weak up North. The people you should be worrying about don't really use social media, even witht he bombings and chaos they see thier lives as perfect. One sermon/speech from their religious, political or traditional ruler is all it takes to vote for the Northern candidate. Those who review actual data would tell you that from the last two presidentgial elections three Northern states combined brought in more votes than 10 Southern states combined......No be juju be that? |
If one thing is certain, it is that INEC don't know shit! Watch them come out next week with their tails between their legs shouting, it is perfectly acceptable ![]() |
kabukabu50:Calm down, apart from living and working in the USA for over a decade now, I have grandparents in the USA and I am a co-owner of a healthcare agency. My figures are even conservative compared to elderly people living in California or Florida, do your research instead of blabbering! |
Average person abroad has about $300,000 by retirement. Let's see how it plays out in 9ja and abroad like America: USA: Yearly healthcare cost: $50,000 minus medicaid/medicare = $15000 Annual other insurance: $2000 Cost of private duty nurse/nurse assistant(Home care): $25,000 Utilities(Gas, Electricity, Cable, Internet, Phone etc): $8000 Taxes: $5000 Food and Entertainment: $20,000 ====== Expense Total: $75,000 yearly cost Income Total (Social Security, etc): $1500 per month, $18,000 per year. ======== 57,000 USD is needed per year to live comfortably in America at retirement age. Nigeria Yearly healthcare cost: $3000 Annual other insurance: $0 Cost of private duty nurse/nurse assistant(Home care) and maid service: $2,500 per year Utilities(Security, Electricity, DSTV, Internet, Phone etc): $3000 Taxes: $0 Food and Entertainment: $10,000 ====== Expense Total: $18,500 yearly cost Income Total (Social Security, etc): $1500 per month, $18,000 per year. ======== 500 USD is needed per year to live in Nigeria at retirement age. A person age 65 or older with a retirement savings of 300,000 USD will survive comfortably for less than 6 years in America but will last over 50 years in Nigeria asssuming all things are equal and that persons owns a house in Nigeria or USA. Even with all the security issues and inflation/unexpected expenses, one can live very comfortably in Nigeria assuming one has done the necessary hardwork while youthful and invested/saved properly! |
infofta:If you've got proof head to court, Nairaland won't get you justice just 5 seconds of fame ![]() |
almarthins:Soon most of you will find out that reality often differs drastically from fantasy. Even advanced countries like the USA never gave Trump a chance of becoming president, all the online polls, all the media were hyping the potential of the first female president. They were banking on more educated people in the USA than stupid or mediocre ones, they got the shock of their lives. The same pattern is rearing its ugly head in Nigeria, most of you are swayed and mesmerized by the online support that you don't bother to go to any grassroot meetings. You don't even conduct opposition research to see what you're up against. One or two sermons by a cleric in the North can result in thousands of votes for Atiku, one signal by the Sultan or other high religious/traditional role models could result in millions of votes. Let's now not talk of the power of Jagaban's machinery, the art of persuassion through emotional bias. There are some poeple that will never vote against party, there are some people that will never vote against tribe or religion. In short, what I'm saying is simple, do not be deceived by online popularity, when it comes to actual voting, majority of those you see online will not stand in line for 2 or more hours. Majority of us will run when touts come for the ballot box. In the North, who dey monitor them? When 3 states in the North alone equals the vote of about 11 states in the South, you should be very worried! Don't take my word for it, just look at the last two presidential elections and study the data, may God help us all! |
almarthins:You lot still don't get the picture, people wey dey vote, most of them no dey online, most of them no dey social media. You wan win presidential election with a weak grassroot, for Nigeria? Forget Toll gate matter and other sentimental nonsense, the bag of rice and money that will be shared is well worth it for majority of those wey go vote especially in the North. Heck I know some people wey go just look for party logo and vote, dem no care about candidate. |
In a month's time it will stabilize and reflect it's true value which is around $10,000. When it hits 10,000 or 11,000, smart investors should start buying as Bitcoin will go higher than 60,000 in 2023, save this comment, it can be the difference between bankruptcy and millions! Na El-Salvador I dey pity pass, dem don base their whole economy on Bitcoin.....GBESE! |
Goddson:Stop dribbling, intellectual discourse should be done in the open where it can be properly recorded and witnessed. I really don't know what you're afraid of, calling people ignorant, kids etc, does not make you look any better, in fact it makes you look cowardly. Let me know when you grow some balls otherwise continue arguing with your phone! |
Goddson:Don't get it twisted, I prefer to expose you publicly, if you're going to challenge me on intellect, it is best for the whole forum to see what the fuss is about. |
Goddson:There's no need to get personal by exchanging phone numbers, let's discuss it here so that other gurus can offer input. |
The only person that can defeat Tinubu is Tinubu. The opponents are well aware of this hence if he makes the wrong move they are ready to capitalize on it. Baba is just putting all the cards int he right palce so that when the decision is made it would be too late for those opponents to strategize. If we were to go by Nairalanders, the man was not even healthy enough to attend convention, he was never going to win the primaries and he was used and dump by Buhari and APC......When all those assumptions failed, they are now risking it all on religion and tribal sentiments, WILL THE JAGABAN SHOCK THEM ONCE AGAIN? E NI WO TAN ![]() |
Goddson:You are laughable, nothing in the news contradicts what I've said so far, USA is fluid, it adjusts and readjusts based on the global economy. The Russian war is just a tiny part, there are more factors that comes into play. If you properly comprehended what I wrote instead of trying to win an argument you would agree. Furthermore, so you don't even live in the USA and you're arguing as if your life depends on it? You're a level one or two data analyst that does not give you privilege to any information that I don't have, I manage a team of 10 auditors and I have worked for some of the biggest companies in America, Chase, State Farm, Dept of Defense, Arrowhead. There's no data that you can pull that I won't be able to, there's no tool that you currently use that I haven't used on some level so CHILL! |
Goddson:There's nothing in my profile that you can go through, it shows a steady history of progress(ALHAMDULILLAHI) and this is my only account so....SWERVE! |
Goddson:It is evident to everyone here who started the insult, calling someone bottom of the food chain when you know nothing about that person tells me all I need to know about you. Shaki dey form meat . It's the same frustrations that have you thinking it is audio/unimaginable to be successful in the USA and Nigeria at the same time. Guess it's true what they say, you're only as enlightened as those you keep around you. Seek wisdom bro, no be everybody be your mate.....Peace! |
Goddson:Go back and read what you wrote and tell me how does that not translate to supply shortage and increase in price. Your mumu is beyond repair. You are all over the place trying to form educated but in reality you know nothing! I own three properties in America another 4 in 9ja, not bad for the bottom of the food chain. Carry your frustration and leave me in peace, no be America kobalize your life na your own failures and inabilities! |
baretalk:Stop comparing apples and oranges, no where in the world do politicians make the same as common government workers. Even your example of MP does not include other allowances, book deals, appearance fees and other money making avenue. The issue has never been about their salaries but the amount they steal through deals and theft. |
Goddson:If this wan't so pathetic I would be laughing on the floor, like I said before shut it and humble thyself! U.S has been borrowing money from China even before you were born and still managed to keep inflation in check until recently. Guess what? This is not even the worst level of inflation, we have had inflation 300% worse than this so BE QUIET! If you lack knowledge, ask and you shall be enlightened. 80% of all household goods used in the USA are produced overseas and a large part of it comes from China. When China went into lockdown mode, it caused shortage of supplies and increase in the price of goods. Basic law of economics: when demand increases what happens to supply? Supply increases as well and if it does what happens? Price of goods increases! The U.S realizing its citizens were paying more with less money in circulation decided to pump more money into the economy, coupled with the cost of borrowing money at almost zero percent and you get what? A recipe for INFLATION! This is economics 101, you're free to argue with Google! A genius like you should explain why inflation was able to be kept in check during one of the worst crisis in U.S history from 2008-2016 but not now? Are you saying the U.S wasn't borrowing money then? Are you saying only the sanction on Russia caused this? Get your brain checked if you are! |
Goddson:Fara buruku bale! I'm a Ph.D holder that has worked in the USA financial sector for over a decade now, so far from the bottom of the foodchain! From your initial stance that the war on Russia is responsible for the high gas prices to your latest revelation that it is a combination of things shows that you're all over the place. Yes, inflation is very high but it was hardly caused by the war in Ukraine. It was caused by all the tax breaks, the stimulus, all the excess money printed, in fact China is more responsible for the inflation in the USA than any other country. The hyper inflation actually started 2 years ago and yes Covid was the major reason including shortage of metals, capacitors etc. When I said the U.S is a fluid country I meant it has a way of balancing things. If you pay more for gas and other things, create an LLC, write those expenses off on it. If your income does not support your expenses, look for government programs, look for rebates etc. Finally if all else fails, the government will step in and offer more stimulus if the economy goes stagnant. Unless you're telling me that you make over 500k a year and don't have children and a business then I maintain my stance that the government will pay you back for your expenses through tax return. At least that is what 10 plus years of education and work experience in the USA taught me! Next time you feel like typing condescending shit, remmeber where your knowledge stops might be the start of another, if you need help with setting things up or even taxes you can ask ratehr than forming king kong over ignorance......PEACE! |
