Does the fact that people who say every "land" belongs to the FG...are the same people who can only boast of the Sahara dust in their own villages...while greedily and wickedly advocating for policies that robs others of their own wealth and resources--not bother you?

If the South-South Governors are too corrupt...then learn from Norway. They are one of the richest countries today because they chose to wisely NOT SPEND any money proceeds from their oil and gas exports. They invested a massive chunk of that money into their Sovereign Wealth Fund which is the richest in the world today. This Sovereign Wealth Fund smartly invests strategically in all types of global non-oil companies that are actively performing (talking about the Apples, Google, Tesla etc.,) and these companies pay back dividends to Norway every year in the billions of dollars...and this is how Norway makes a chunk of its money every year.

The Niger Delta too can be encouraged to have a version of the same Wealth Fund where most of the money is inaccessible by any one Governor. Only capital intensive projects vetted by the African Development Bank and the World Bank --can be enabled for access via some of the defined projects--for the benefit of the people affected.

Multi-ethnic societies are always inclined to be less generous tax-wise. This is why a homogeneous China, Norway or even Finland would be proud to pay taxes. Multi-cultural societies like the USA will also have a rich segment of the same society bitching about how much their tax dollars is subsidizing other non-productive parts (eg. Welfare queens, dead beats, etc.,) Evidently there are ways to make their systems more transparent and accountable.--which they do...it is sadly not the same here.

I actually believed that Obasanjo was a lot more humbled as a Christian initially when he became President in 1999. For a while he tried to be transparent....publish how much the Government accrued from crude and gas exports. And also published how much the Government spent and is planning to spend on each sector. This type of transparency stopped after a while...

Guess why most Nigerian Governors will NEVER share the exact details of how much they have generated internally or via Federal allocations?

Next time summarize, most of your points could be summed up into two paragraphs. I have no problem with what you said, my only problem is people choosing to attack the big bad wolf known as the federal government while their little red riding hood(governors, senators, reps.) are seen as saints because they share the same ethnicity.

Nigeria is overly dependent on oil and that has been the greatest downfall of our society. The fact that one group of people believe that they are entitled to 50% of the allocation from oil proceeds is just plain comedy. I can get behind your idea, create a wealth fund for them inaccessible by their governors, sentors etc, maybe this will help them to see that their problem is not allocation but wastefulness and pure greed from their own elected leaders.

Texas a state in America controls it's oil and gas.They only pay tax to the federal government.Here in Nigeria,they share the Niger Delta oil monies to non productive states that cannot sustain themselves,in the south/west,s/east and north.And we are said to be operating a federal/presidential system of government like America,We are tired of feeding this lazy bed fellows.

Each state in the USA controls its own resources but are required to pay a certain amount to the nation's coffers through taxes on its citizens! These sums are invested then shared back to each state on a yearly basis based on needs. It has nothing to do with oil and gas, system works for each state according to needs.

It's not the governors fault,as in not only Ondo state that is a civil servant state but the whole s/west,they all cannot generate revenue to sustain themselves,except lagos state.Ditto,south east,except Anambra state.the whole north are group of leeches,waiting for monthly federal allocation before they can pay salaries.You see how the oil wealth of the Niger Deltan is squandered to sustain non productive state in the name of one nigeria.The oil derivation fund should be increased to 50% because the s/south geo political zones do not benefits anything from this forced marriage.

Draconian analysis, just because you occupy an area in the country that produces a commodity does not mean you monopolize it. No country in the world does that, it is not South South oil, it is Nigerian oil, even in the USA, only 3 states produce 90% of the food consumed by the entire country yet the ebenefits are shared nationwide. Nigeria first before ethnicity or religion, all land belongs to the federal government, until the 1999 Constitution is changed, this is not even debatable!

When you eventually get abroad, you'll realize HR field is rubbish! With finance you can branch into several dynamic fields like auditing, governance, project management etc. With HR you are severely limited, the hours are long, the pay is average unless you take on additional responsibilities.

If your plan is to truly jaapa, stick to finance, it has a brighter career path!

P.S, There are great African countries already, Nigeria ain't leading shit! The likes of Morocco, Ghana and even South Africa are doing relatively well despite their limited human and natural resources, less than 20% of their population is below poverty. All those places don't have a young president, the youngest is almost 60 so again I ask what's your point?

there must be a starting point. if the only thing a new president can achieve in Nigeria is just dissolution of the powers in the center, then it's a very big win for the masses. from that point, the office of the president will become much less attractive and people will instead focus on who represents them at the local levels.

Why start at the presidency, why not winning local, state/regional elections. Even in societies where the democracy is very strong, independent or no name party no dey win presidential elections not to talk of Nigeria.
